The bathroom is also small, and the shower is enclosed in a small circular area like if you look a cruise ship voyage and had those showers.

A previous review mentioned the shower was too small - this person must’ve been the size of a small elephant as I am 6foot and quite hefty yet the shower was perfect.

However,single rooms are a little tight on space planning.The toilets are very small !

but we were disappointed to see that the room is hyper small, bathroom is also small and bed is double.

Namely non-sound-proof walls, a small room with no view, occasional sewer smells, lack of storage space, and unsatisfactory breakfast selection (which, to be fair, is to be expected at a smaller hotel).

The room we had for 6 nights was small, (standard double) that we booked on Expedia.

The only draw back is the rooms are somewhat small (which is ok) and have little to no storage space (this is the biggest challenge- no counter space to store your belongings between days).

The rooms are small (think London) and the hotel has no other amenities like a pool or fitness center etc.

though the room was on the small side; albeit within minutes of the hagia sofia and blue mosque.

Amazing hotel in the center of Sultanahmet, very close to all main sightseeings: Saint Sophia, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar, Topkapy Palace, Suleymaniye Mosque.

We easily walked to the Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazaar, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Yeni Mosque, Suleymaniye Mosque, Theodosius Obelisk, Column of Constantine, Topkapi Palace, and the Bosphorus Strait Cruise ship line-up.

The terrace view of the Hagia Sophia was an amazing sight to take in.

Very  nice breakfast every morning on the top of the hotel terrace that over looked Istanbul.

The hotel is located in the very center, it is difficult to think of a better location relative to the main attractions (walking distance to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and much more).

negative: the walls are too thin so you can here people next to you and it makes noisy, the price is a little high for what it is.

Tourist attractions ; What we did not expect was that it has a historic abandoned hamam in front, Old Hagia Sofia (read about it :) ) and Old city walls in 1 mins walk.

Only downside is the thin walls and street noise

Perfect location in the middle of the historic centre, with extremely helpful and friendly staff, beautiful rooms and great breakfast.

but really this wasn't my fault so he shouldn't have been unhappy with me.

but mixed weather meant limited use - not the hotel’s fault I know.

The only small criticism, which is not the fault of the hotel, is that it can be a little noisy at night due to the local bars and the tramway that goes right past the front door.

I had a cold for the first two days (I blame my sister lol) and they made sure I had plenty of mint tea to soothe my throat, without me having to ask they offered.


It is difficult to find fault with this stay!

When we had a minor lighting issue in our room, they went above and beyond to fix it.

Nonetheless, after a bit of a delay, we were on our way and the hotel worked to fix the problem as soon as they were aware of it.

The staff were all excellent - really friendly and helpful and organised a private tour for us which we would recommend.

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in - the staff at the Romance Hotel were just so friendly and helpful - and Zumre was especially great in giving us tips on getting around the city, and answered any question we had.

Overall the hotel feels like home, very safe with friendly staff.

Decoration: All the fittings and fixtures of the hotel have been custom-made to give a definite sense of traditional style, with an emphasis on ornate, period gilded-wood furniture, heavy drapes, floral wallpaper and velvet or satin upholstery, chandeliers and glass pendant lighting fittings and wrought-iron work.

The bathroom was separated by glass walls with curtains on the inside, which, when pulled open, created an even more airy and open space.

It had a tiny ante, a small balcony and a glass walled bathroom.

The bathroom it a bit odd in that it has glass walls with curtains.

The glass walls also mean there is just one hook right next to the shower to hang towels and robes, which can maybe hold one, two with difficulty.

The bathroom is a bit strange, a room within a room, a glass box with curtains.

The toilets were very clean and the only problem i had with it was that it had glass walls backed with almost transparent curtains.

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff Zumre guest relations was extremely helpful.

- Location is excellent (1 min walk to sultanahmet tram station)
- Staff very friendly
- Very good breakfast with new options everyday
- Great value for money

Negative:
- Room and bathtoom are extremely small
- The cleanliness could be better
- The hotel building is old

Breakfast is good, there are many options.

Its buffet breakfast was satisfying and its rooftop restaurant space was nice with view to city rooftops and see in the horizon.

Small room, have all ammenities, nice breakfast, stunning view on Istanbul from the rooftop.

Erdal remains always help a needy, hotel rooms remain cozy, clean bathrooms, breakfast plenty of choice, my suggestion to add cable tv channels.

There’s a daily variation of buffet breakfast.

The hotel was also clean and had a good breakfast.
