The room was comfortable, room service was amazing and the location is superb as the hotel is in the thick of most historic sites and shopping arras of IST.

The main historical sites can be accessed by foot as the hotel is very close to the Blue Mosque , Hippodrome and Hagia Sofia.

Lovely ottoman style room,on the 5th floor the artwork opposite to the lift is Dolmabahce palace which was the first place we visited on the first day,that was uncanny.

Location couldn't be better, in beautiful Suntanahmet area five minutes walk to Topkapii Palace, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and as it is on the tram line (the rumbling sound of which reminded us our hometown of Melbourne) it is also convenient for visiting Dolmabahce palace, Galata bridge etc.The hotel loans you a tram card that you can add funds to to assist this,

The hotel has been newly renovated in a romantic, highly decorative traditional style.

but really this wasn't my fault so he shouldn't have been unhappy with me.

but mixed weather meant limited use - not the hotel’s fault I know.

The only small criticism, which is not the fault of the hotel, is that it can be a little noisy at night due to the local bars and the tramway that goes right past the front door.

I had a cold for the first two days (I blame my sister lol) and they made sure I had plenty of mint tea to soothe my throat, without me having to ask they offered.


It is difficult to find fault with this stay!

When we had a minor lighting issue in our room, they went above and beyond to fix it.

Nonetheless, after a bit of a delay, we were on our way and the hotel worked to fix the problem as soon as they were aware of it.

Decoration: All the fittings and fixtures of the hotel have been custom-made to give a definite sense of traditional style, with an emphasis on ornate, period gilded-wood furniture, heavy drapes, floral wallpaper and velvet or satin upholstery, chandeliers and glass pendant lighting fittings and wrought-iron work.

The bathroom was separated by glass walls with curtains on the inside, which, when pulled open, created an even more airy and open space.

It had a tiny ante, a small balcony and a glass walled bathroom.

The bathroom it a bit odd in that it has glass walls with curtains.

The glass walls also mean there is just one hook right next to the shower to hang towels and robes, which can maybe hold one, two with difficulty.

The bathroom is a bit strange, a room within a room, a glass box with curtains.

The toilets were very clean and the only problem i had with it was that it had glass walls backed with almost transparent curtains.

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff Zumre guest relations was extremely helpful.

Guest relations Zumre checked up on us to make sure we had what we needed during the stay.

but when grand Hyatt Istanbul where I feel like I’m home , everything is clean , food is good ,place was so comfortable  everything.

Sheets were not clean , room was really nothing compared to other hyatt i have visited , no view or a good location , wouldn’t recommend it if your traveling with your spouse its more of a lone business man’s spot , even the tv is a dinosaur

You should check - if you can just stay on the club lounge floor and get the breakfast that would save you money.

The Club Lounge was closed during our stay due to covid and instead they provided Globalist happy hour in the hotel bar near reception which had individually wrapped hors d’oeuvres and desserts.

My reasons for coming back to Grand Hyatt Istanbul again and again, is the friendliness of the all the staffs from the least to the top most especially Mehmet Ali zeyrek and Fatma at the club lounge.

The first two nights were in the club lounge , the second two in the library bar which was really nice.

Lovely room & the club lounge was a comfy welcome addition.

The staff in the club lounge was very friendly and made our stay much more enjoyable.The Grand Hyatt is in a good location right next to Taksim Square so that is a good plus.

The club lounge was very pleasant with a nice rotation of small food.

We stayed in a Club room for the first night which allows access to the Club Lounge for a fabulous Turkish breakfast and a big selection of snacks and drinks (including wine and spirits) in Happy hour from 18:00-20:00.

Large well appointed rooms with an excellent Club Lounge service for breakfast and happy hour.

Special mention should go to the staff though, especially those in the club lounge.

Club lounge food is sub par compare to other club lounge

Having been to various club lounges with Hilton and Starwood properties, I would rate this club food as better in variety  than the average club room and up to par of equivalent properties in terms of quality.

Ugur in the mezzanine restaurant made sure I never wanted for anything, Tufan in the Club Lounge was so extremely helpful and accomodating he made me feel at home. Dahlia (sp?)

We had access to the club lounge which is great in the evenings with snacks and complimentary drinks.

- The hotel is located in downtown and in 10mins walking distance to Taksim, and 15 mins (walking downhill) to Dolmabahce Palace.

The hotel location was one of the primary reasons I chose the Grand Hyatt, as it is only a 15 minute walk to the Dolmabahce Palace.

On 7th floor always smelled sewerage very badly, answer to this from hotel staff was just "we know"

One day we woke up from awful and very strong sewerage smell it was even hard to breath with headaches.

Room smelt do smoke, ac controls not working, leaking shower, English not understood, breakfast included in room rate

but few of the vegetable had a slight bad smell

Seriously you can buy a high quality beef burger at nusret for 50 lira and their beef burger costed 65 lira while buns were stale and zero taste.

but the television's were disgusting old.

When we asked for a nonsmoking room (which we paid for in full before we arrived) we were told they could not make the change.

When we checked into the room, it was extremely old, there were barely any lights in the room - it was very dark, and it just felt very musty and old.

This is my 4th time at this hotel, the last two times I got stuck in a smoking floor, I could not breath most of the time, this time I was lucky that they placed me in a non smoking floor, or so I thought!

The taxi service was also poor with taxi drivers that didn't speak English, and dirty cabs with the drivers constantly smoking in the drivers seat.

however the smoky-dank smell in my room was unpleasant.

but this is unavoidable I guess in a country where smoking indoors is still permitted.

Grand Hyatt Istanbul is located with all the other luxury hotels close Taksim Square and about 50 minutes from the airport, IST.

but the location is great (walking distance to Taksim Square and Nisantasi).

Its proximity to the Taksim Square is the biggest advantage.. its literally 5mins walk.

They have nicer rooms that they only give to Turkish people, any other ethnicity they will give you that dirty room.

Restaurant had more then enough different food for breakfast and was very clean and well organized.

I go to Istanbul every year and I stayed in different hotels 3/4 stars and they were great specially the cleanliness.

The room was clean and neat just as one would want coming from a tiring plane trip.

Everything was clean, the staff where really nice.

I recommand this hotel only for the location and the style of the hotel have a good time.. the rooms are not clean as well.. the restaurant is good and delicious.

Very nice hotel while it is clean and a good place to be, The rooms were as they looked in the pictures, with good room service and really nice staff members.

We didnt have nice view,there was an apartment front of our room   and the room wasn't veryy veryyy clean.

If you're looking for a clean, comfortable place to serve as an easily accessible base for sightseeing, and can overlook a bit of wear in the decor and furnishings, then the Beyaz Saray will not disappoint.

Amazing breakfast served in the roof restaurant.good clean rooms serviced every day .great location short walk to bazaar and all landmarks.

Beyazit tram station is 5 minutes away, which is convenient to reach the landmarks in Galata and in the New City, such as Dolmabahce Palace (tip: if you are staying for more than two days and plan to use public transport, make sure to buy an Istanbul Card, as ticket prices are significantly lower than buying the tokens individually).
