 - At first we were a bit uncomfortable when we went in to the building because it looks a little cramped

 - From the moment we walked in, we were genuinely and warmly greeted at the front desk by Araz.
 - It’s in the old historic Centre near the Hagia Sophia & Gülhane Park area so it’s a great for walking to mosques of interest and the Grand Bazaar too.
 - He is happy to make reservations for pretty much anything, and he conducts in-depth tours (complementary to hotel guests, with culinary walk adding a nominal fee) that you should definitely join.

 - Only one detail: even if they accept credit cards, the hotel prefers that guests pay in cash (that has happened everywhere in our journey through the Middle East, so take it into account if you plan to travel using only plastic).
 - but we didn't have Euros since we planned to pay with the credit card.

 - Taxis cannot get to the front, still need to go down the stairs, not the most convenience if you are traveling with luggage.
 - The only negative and this a BIG one in my book is that you should never under any circumstance book a taxi through the hotel.
 - When a manager in the hotel called a taxi for me, I repeatedly confirmed with him that a taxi was one with a meter.
 - Also, be wary of the crazy taxi drivers and the huge tourist buses that like to block traffic.
 - Yes, the rooms are beyond tiny, yes the stairway is winding, slippery and treacherous, yes, it is off the beaten track and hard for a taxi to find.

 - Our room at the second floor had an AC, fridge and tv, there were no noice from neighbors.
 - There are only 2-3 rooms per floor, so a tiny hotel.
 - but maybe this can be avoided if the room is in 2nd or 3rd floor.
 - It is important to note that if you have been allocated a top floor room as we and our friends had, that it is a real considerable climb up the stairs and not for the unfit.
 - The hotel is located up a small alley off the main tram route, our room was on the first floor so only had to negotiate one set of stairs with our bags.

 - we told the person that these were not the rooms we had booked.
 - I booked a single room, but it ended up being a box in the basement,no windows, obviously u need to book a different room type
 - I booked a 2 room apartment initially so that my son could sleep quietly while we moved around the apartment.
 - There are four locations for Sultanahmet Suites and we had booked 2 rooms for 4 nights.
 - My only niggle would be that we had booked a room with a sea view, which this room did not have.

 - although the carpets could have done with a more thorough hoovering. Location is great as it’s less than 10 min walk from all main sights (The Hippodrome, The Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, The Basilica Cistern, etc.)
 - Hotel is a good 15 min walk from major old town sites (Sultanahmet area with Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern, etc).
 - Walking distance to Grand Bazaar, the Spice Market, the Blue Mosque, the Haigia Sofia and the Basilica Cistern.

 - The room is like a small private fortress - only gulls outside the window and the sounds of a muezzin from a nearby mosque.
 - We were taken (no lift) to the fourth floor, to a very small room (around 12sq mt) with a terrace.
 - The room was so small that there was scarcely place for a table and a chair, and obviously didn’t have a sofa bed or a desk.
 - The room was a bit small,

 - it was a 4 floor building with no elevator and just stairs.narrow stairs that 2 people can not across together.
 - Rooms are not child safe and stairs are horribe.
 - Staff take your luggage to your room (ours up 3 flights of stairs (no lifts)) and take it down and into cab waiting at the door of your building when you leave as they collect your key).
 - There were two flights of circular stairs that lead to our door (see photo).
 - when I went their I had to claim 4 stair ways ,and I already talked to the young lady explaining that I have two old ladies they can not claim stares .The streets where very narrow.

 - The room is very bright, as the windows are all over the wall, you can curtain them at night so tightly that the light does not leak.
 - the telephone was broken and you couldn't move in the WC otherwise you would hit a wall.
 - but there were parts of the terrace door that needed resealing and bits of wall crumbling etc.
 - He then accused us of stealing the hair-dryer when it is an appliance that is ATTACHED TO THE WALL after we immediately left.
 - (But if you need to get to the Blue Mosque, there's another route which is much easier to walk) - The walls were thin and noise insulation is bad.

 - If you're much larger, my guess is that you're gonna be uncomfortable.
 - Many excuses are offered for the the uncomfortable and noisy hotel, set in the most vulgar tourist region of the Sultanahmet.

 - Very good location just 200 m distance from Blue Mosque.
 - It is located in the heart of old town (Sultanahmet), at the same time it is on a small street, which makes the place really quiet.
 - The real highlight is the position being close to everything in the old quarter.
 - It’s located behind Aya Sophia so is within walking distance to all the main sights.
 - The biggest highlight for me was the location.

 - The hotel is situated near some of the famous historical sites of Istanbul - it's only 5-10 min walk to Hagia Sofia, The Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern and the start point of sightseeing buses.
 - Best thing about the hotel is the location: Few minutes walk to everywhere u want to go, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi palace, Grand bazaar, Basilica cistern etc Just outside the hotel is the Rumi Cafe - good food n ambience.
 - A small (15 rooms) hotel with fantastic location in Old Town (just a couple of hundred meters to Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern and Topkapi Palace).

 - We paid extra for a Garden room, which had a small outdoor garden attached.
 - However, we paid extra for a 'Sea View' room and frankly the 'view' was not worth the extra money.
 - On first checking in I was a bit disappointed as the promised sea view for which I paid extra was actually obscured by the building opposite and alot of laundry drying.
 - No extra cost for the freshly squeezed juice!
 - The 4 Season was a few yards futher on (incidentaly I would not have paid the extra for this very smart hotel as

 - "Garden" turned out to be a poky little dark area outside window.
 - The windows didn't open more than 2 inches so we were never able to get rid of the smell.
 - however with the windows closed it did not disturb us.
 - No window.
