This hotel is spotlessly clean and really comfortable, with a lovely breakfast.

The Raincliffe Hotel must be one of the finest hotels in Scarborough.What a lovely place, comfortable beds, great breakfasts, spotlessly clean and our hosts, Vicky and Steve, are a  smashing couple, friendly and welcoming with lots of advice on places to go and things to do.

Breakfast was cooked to perfection and the staff where friendly and there for your needs.

but spotlessly clean and breakfasts are everything you would want.

Breakfast was freshly cooked and excellent with extra refreshments and toast being offered more than once by staff who were genuinely engaged in their work.

The hotel was so clean and tidy lovely couple breakfast was to die for parking was 2.00 for the day which is really good close to the beach and town comfy bed very clean and the bathroom was ideal maybe the shower was a bit small

Breakfast was fabulous all requirements catered for.

This is a cosy place amongst some fine English red brick buildings with an easy stroll down to the sea front and faded grandeur of this northern town.

This hotel is very well run, the rooms are immaculate, there is a nice well stocked bar and the food is excellent.

Only grizzle was the water pressure in the shower.

Only small gripe was water pressure in shower could have been a little better,

The shower was a little light on water pressure

En-suite small (but adequate), shower mediocre (but used to a power shower), water filled shower tray whilst showering so ended up standing in 2-3 inches of water throughout shower.

The water pressure in the shower was slightly low

The shower room was quite compact & the water pressure of the shower itself wasn't brilliant.

My only criticism would be the shower, the cubicle was small not much room to turn around in and the water pressure was poor with the temperature of the water varying from cold to hot whilst showering which was a bit of a pain.

Only gripe I had was the lack of decent water pressure in the en-suite shower,

good little find for a week stay in scarborough with the daughters ,we arrived and checked ,room was very nice and clean and made to feel welcome ,had breakfast most days and was a friendly and good service ,location was good as a short to town or straight down to south bay .would stay here again .

This lovely family run b&b never disappoints, beach and shops short walk, comfortable bed, lovely rain shower, tea/coffee  in room, and what ever you do, don’t miss out on Steven’s freshly cooked  full Ashburton breakfast special, he also makes the best bacon sandwiches.

We would thoroughly recommend Ashburton House  and that would certainly include the fantastic breakfast.

The beds are comfy, showers hot, everywhere is extremely clean, and the breakfasts were incredible and cooked to perfection.

You get incredible value for money and we spent our weekend marvelling about what a steal it was.

This was an excellent value for money bed and breakfast with very welcoming hosts.

Just stayed at Ashburton house for one night, Fantastic value for money and friendly staff, we stayed in one of the superior rooms (room 7) which I can say was a great room, very clean, lovely en suite bathroom and a MASSIVE bed!.

Totally enjoyed our weekend break at this guesthouse,nice hosts,clean,cracking breakfast,off street parking and a steady walk into town,well worth a look when booking your stay in Scarborough.Give this place a try.

Ashburton House is only a 10 minute walk from both the seafront and the town centre.

Only a 10  minute walk from the seafront and town so a well placed guest house.

The town centre and the beach are a 10 minute walk away, so with the parking at the B&B, we walked everywhere.

We packed our holdalls up and the owners moved our belongings to our next room which was awaiting us after our walk to the beach after breakfast.

A good B&B located about 10 mins walk from the harbour.

but when the 4am seagull dawn chorus threatens to burst your ear drums, the fan helped keep things cool when the windows had to be shut.

though the window complaining that we are ringing the bell instead of calling on the phone (yes, there was a signal and we didn't see it).

The only way to ensure privacy was to keep the curtains closed.

Only downside was the view was into the next door neighbours window,

With the curtains drawn no light woke you up ensuring a good night's sleep.

The bed is positioned with the headboard against the wall where the windows are located.

All window ledges dirty and black mould around windows.

however the room was tiny and the toilet barely flushed, if the weather is warm even with the window open the room is a sauna and the road outside is often like a boy racer circuit.

The guests information book contained outdated details, storage was limited (and very inconveniently placed), you couldn't open the windows in the bathroom and shelving space was minimal too.

but this year we took their new apartment in the property next door.

Everything in the apartment you could need and staff on hand if you needed anything.

We were a party of 5 that stayed in one of the apartments inside the hotel.

Will be returning next year hopefully to try the Mahogany Apartment.

The apartment was very clean and the dressing gowns were an added bonus for the grandchildren.

We stopped in the Oak apartment which I can only describe as "sheer luxury" If you want the best accommodation in Scarborough then this is it!

This was our fourth visit with my son his wife and our 15 year old grandson and booked for two days into the mahogany suite apartment.

5 days in the self contained apartment was absolutely fantastic the cleanliness of the whole hotel was spot on.

We recently stayed in the Mahogany Apartment here and it was amazing, the furnishing and the view were wonderful.

though we had an apartment we still had breakfast in the hotel which was delicious.

We stayed in the Mahogany Apartment this time and opted for the breakfast available in the hotel.

We were in the Oak apartment which was very, very nice.

Jonathan has created a number of fully furbished apartments that are quite simply sumptuous in every detail.

Superb location for our golf tour in Scarborough, the Oak apartment slept 4 and was really lovely, and two of us shared a twin room, also excellent.

Stayed in the usual Mahogany Apartment with magnificent views over the harbour and beach.

The hotel was fabulous, excellent location on the Esplanade, overlooking the south bay, and in a quiet residential area.

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary weekend what a great hotel the views over the bay from the top floor are fantastic.

Also, the location is perfect above the Spa in a more upmarket area overlooking South Bay.

Lovely place tostay, overlooking the North Bay yet far enough away from town centre to be quiet and relaxed.

Location good with superb views over the harbour and of the castle in the distance.

Mansion House is on the South Cliff of Scarborough and as such has fabulous views of the south bay and the harbour as well as the castle and the town.

We stayed in room 5 with wonderful views across the bay.

The lounge was lovely with an honesty bar and had great views across the Bay, lovely breakfast and very helpful staff - really enjoyed our stay .

but the crowning glory is the breakfast with a great and full range of choice, everything is fresh and of high quality, the cooked breakfast is first class matched only by the service.

Great breakfasts .. lovely staff…everything it said it had was their Inc fridge in the room.. bottled water … fan for extra heating /cooling.

Fabulous location and a lovely hotel, to wake every morning to a breakfast of such quality was a privilege.
