I asked for a copy of my bill and was told I wouldn’t be receiving one because I had pre-paid.

When looking at my bill after checkout I noticed I only had one voucher.

The only surprise was the required overnight parking fee ($28/night) that was added to our bill, which we were not expecting.

but a little slow especially when getting the bill for food.

GO to check out - the $28 is still on the bill.

At check-out, make sure you check your bill for mystery charges.

To top it off, on the morning of my birthday, had signed the bill at breakfast and yet was chased out of the restaurant by someone other than our waiter and was asked to pay the bill again.

Finally, despite us staying on a B&B package, I was still charged for some of the breakfasts that we've had. Having discovered this in my bill a week later, I got no reply whatsoever to the 3 (!!)

We were then presented with a bill for 60.00 for the drinks.

For a hotel that is trying to seem Italian and for the size of the room service bill, I would have expected better food.

And then when we asked to split the bill by couple, 20 minutes later they brought us each back a bill with every single item split every which way.

As we were leaving we realized they had mixed up our bills and rooms and charged the wrong amount on our credit cards.

Upon checkout our bill was incorrect and we had to wait around until it was remedied.

I am now back home, going over my credit card bill and I noticed the hotel has an extra charge that is not on my check out bill.

The food was American (large portions, and not grown locally), the bill in US$ with a 20% tip required, the bell boy hassling you for a tip to move your bag 10 feet, so please tell me, what on earth has Italy got to do with this hotel? Why not offer a great 5 star hotel, and drop the silly 'dressing up"

I didnt see them on the bill either. Classy.

I will give it one more chance in two weeks otherwise there are many, many other point earning options in Houston as close to good food and good activities.

With virtually no interest in my wellbeing, the lady eventually suggested the Emergency Room of the Houston Methodist Hospital, not offering any help whatsoever and leaving me to work out how I would get there.

This is a great place to relax, entertain, conduct business meetings, have a great meal and enjoy the best pool area in Houston.

It gave me the perfect opportunity to try out the Hotel Granduca Houston.

We have been going to Houston very often over the past years,

It's a long time since I visited Houston.

Looking forward to another trip to Houston and will certainly stay at this prime location!

It is a gem in Uptown, a more and more attractive area of Houston.

Hotel Granduca is a very special hotel in the Galleria area of Houston.

A small, wonderful hotel in downtown Houston, TX.

We have been several times while visiting Houston.

We will always stay here when returning to Houston.

We'll always stay at the Granduca when traveling to Houston.

I love staying at the Granduca in Houston.

but what I got was poor service, the run around, a dated old environment and no sleep.

though the pillows and linens were not that of an upscale hotel caliber so resulted in a poor nights sleep.

This amazing hotel was brought down by the poor staff, bad service and extra fees.

The service we received was poor through our entire stay and after communicating this we were offered a free breakfast.

The poor “bartender” (come to find out he was actually only a server that was told to cover the bar because there wasn’t a bartender on staff when the bar opened—- so by no means do I fault him for trying.

Additionally, the lighting in the bedroom is so poor you can barely see your clothes.

Our only complaint was the rather poor service around the pool.

but the very poor treatment my wife and I received will not take us back to Hotel Granduca

I dare say you are probably giving your staff poor internal customer service as well as your external customers.

After reading the poor and terrible reviews of some of the reviewers, I've concluded that these people wouldn't be happy with anything or anyone.

And the large room we were using had really poor sight lines and in keeping with the rest of the hotel was pretty gloomy (and we had windows).

I'm surprised by the poor reviews because we had the complete opposite treatment from the hotel staff.

This hotel lost business because of their poor customer service and lack of professionalism.

However, in subsequent months, each visit  reveals a marked decline:  no slippers; art work in suite replaced with white paper with a logo in a frame; no glasses; no hot pad for micro; less dishware; sloppy housekeeping; no mats by bed in turndown; less towels; removal of some furniture; waiting forever for patio service; food marginal to poor - our last room service of eggs benedict consisted of one tough bun, a hard Canadian bacon with rind and one egg with a questionable dab of 'hollandaise' - nothing else like years ago when we got tomatoes, the standard two English muffins, potatoes, etc.

And the breakfast was terrible: late, cold eggs, munchy muffin, poor coffee (nothing Italian there), hash brown from last year.

The restaurant and bar menus were great and the staff very fast, friendly and guest oriented, a big thanks to Mrs. Marta who provided us with a delicious dinner on the beautiful terrace.

Walking distance quite a few really good restaurants of different ethnicities and steak houses.

Margarita and Marlo at the front desk were very accommodating, and very attentive.

No one ever mentioned that no food or drinks would be available for the night and that all their services close at 8 o'clock in the name of COVID-19.

The bar is terrific and Restaurant Cavour is outstanding.

Great location within walking distance of shops and restaurants.

The staff took such good care of me in the hotel, the amazing restaurant and the bar.

We hosted an evening event there and the food and team was amazing.

Great drinks and yummy pizza are a bonus.

Romantic, quiet, great pool, great location.

We chose this hotel at random for a Valentine's day romantic getaway.

The Granduca offers a romantic and relaxing stay with your spouse.

We stayed the 4th July weekend and it seemed like we were one of about 5 guest rooms that occupied the place.

The property has about 122 rooms of which maybe…10??

Even if it weren’t, it doesn’t take 3 hours to get a room cleaned.

the rooms are very spacious, silent, and very clean.

Upon arrival, our room had a bottle of prosecco and some desserts--a lovely surprise--that ended up being from my parents, not the hotel.

The rooms are large, clean and up to date.

I spent the next 2 days largely confined to my room, before deciding I could not continue to LA as planned and returned home to the UK.

On the other hand, the room was really nice and the slippers and dressing gown were a dream!

The room was amazing and very quiet which is so rare.

The rooms are very spacious and charming and most of them are suites!

The room itself was clean and comfortable,

As far as the restaurant goes, the food is good, not great and the service is EXTREMELY slow.

Our only (minor) complaint was the excessive drink prices and the service out by pool was a bit slow.

We consistently heard other guests complaining about the slow service and not getting what they paid for throughout the night.

Staff were not as switched on as they might have been so service quite slow.

The very slow bell staff dropped my daughters birthday cookie on the way to my room, accepted my generous tip, and did not mention that they had smashed the cookie and decorations.

Delivery of the food was slow and follow-up non existent.

but service is slow so leave plenty of time.

The accomodations were average, the showerhead was covered in lime, the drain was slow, the carpet was worn, the food service staff were slow, and the hallways are tile making them very noisy.

but was discouraged from doing so by the maitre d', who advised that service would be very slow if I did.

We had an enjoyable stay during a business trip to Texas with very nice staff members welcoming us.

Carlos  did an excellent job of taking care of our needs (ably assisted by Calvin).

Apart from the staff, who were kind, enthusiastic and polite.

Forget about any kind of service after 11:00 pm.

The staff is very very friendly, and it feels genuine.

Thanks to all the staff for the warmth of the meeting and the highest level of service!

This most definitely is not a 5-star hotel for one main, painfully obvious reason: the staff is NOT willing to go above and beyond for you at any step of the way.

After we made a request to cancel our reservation and called AMEX travel, the best they could offer was to let us go the next morning after a specific request from an AMEX employee.

Left it with the lady at the front desk saying she would call me that day after discussing with a manager.

Everyone was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable.

The bartenders and servers were not attentive either, conversing with a couple sitting at the bar.

but at 6.30am headed to the downstairs Reception to enquire as to where I might go to receive treatment.

Thank you to the friendly staff for your hospitality.

Second time the front desk clerk took my order.

What an amazingly, welcoming and perfect hotel.

Room air conditioning and heating wasn't controlling well.

AC unit old and blows right on your face in bed .

It is unfortunate as I like Hilton yet this time around I could not believe we had employees attending customers without masks, the sheer did not work, the air conditioning did not work well, when we came to the room the mini fridge was open and on the floor and to top the icing, they lost packages and did not admit it

No clean lobby, hallway and elevator..the room AC wasn’t working well.And no house keeping daily, you have to request 24h advance …… also there are not enough cart .. it’s no worth the price…………..::. :

AC in room malfunctioned several times in room.

however, the AC wasnt working)  and once you walk upstairs to the second floor restaurant and conference area the smell of mold and mildew.

No AC in our room due to some left over issue from 5 weeks ago.

The sound and vibration coming from the A/C unit in the room was unbearable.

AC made some strange noises occasionally.

I only need A/C, hot water and a desk/chair (to get work done).

You could hear your neighbor's conversations through the vents in the bathroom and this was rather loud, at least on the 21st floor where we were, and you could hear this into the bedroom area.

The staff joked that they had asked numerous times to have the cold AC turned down to something less than Ice Age

* An air conditioner that didnt keep the room below 78*, which was absolutely miserable.

The bed was uncomfortable, the outlets were terribly placed in the room (I ended up breaking my charger block because the bed jammed the USB wire into it) the TV remote barely worked, no matter how long the AC ran it always felt hot in the room.

Instead there was an air conditioner that couldn't be turned off.

I get to my room, the door is broken and the lock doesn’t work .

Let me reminisce about the rock pillows, hallway doors slams in the middle of the night and in the morning.

Door scanner stopped working so our keys were no longer useful to get in our room.

Balcony door fell off track the moment I tried to open .

The door fell off the track 3 more times,

Our room is on the 19th floor right by the exit door and we would go to bed by 9 PM and all night until two or three in the morning all you heard were people coming in and out in the door slamming.

He “fixed” this by taking the sensor off the door completely.

The balcony doors were so dirty whatever housekeeper was in charge of this room should be fired immediately!

Our room was not cleaned when we requested and we called for towels and after 4 hours still did not receive them at 9:33 after 3 calls and the staff acting as if we did something wrong  asking for towels a rude man appeared at the door to say “towels” and walk away rudely.

Upon entering our room (which the doors look like they’re from the 80’s and all scratched up), the smell knocked us off our feet.

I called ahead to ask for rooms next door or near to each other and they had already blocked those off for us.

Instead of calling people room to tell them, there is a boul water advisory, 
i got a paper memo under my door.

The neighbors next door were loud and partying all night long.

We had to unload the luggage a ways from the door.

Every time we came back to the room we'd have to open the door to the balcony so we could get some fresh air.

I used another towel and then placed that one outside my door as well.

Ceiling peeling, shower door broken and head board had huge stain.

As per usual, the lift was broken and according to the hotel engineer it's been broken for months.

Me and my family went here for the disability expo I’m a lower double amputee and after the expo we went to the pool the chair lift wasn’t working and the only way to get down are stairs and the stair lift hasn’t been working in months and there was no other way to get to the pool so we had a nice time in are room not in the pool

The elevators were broken and the one that was working had no lights, the hotel reeked of smoke.

Elevators take so long, have to pay daily to park on the premises.

We got off the elevator on the 26th floor and were gagged by the pot smoke and heat of the floor.

Elevators were super slow and the hotel was packed that weekend.

We had to walk up 20 flights of stairs because the elevators were malfunctioning and people were getting stuck in the elevator.

We had to stand in a line to get to her to show her our room key, to get on the elevator.

The elevators are disgusting with stains all over the floors.

One guy deliberately went up and down in the elevator mask less 4 times on sat nov 7.

As we are sitting waiting in the lobby the staff is being rude to all other check in guests and all types of people are coming in the lobby-large groups of girls with cameras and tripods, men showing other men up to the elevator, telling them what room to go to.

We get off the elevator to see trash laying around and a long, dark, dingy hallway where the lights are flickering, spooky and Not good!

So after getting my new room key, I step into the elevator which smelt like weed.

Not only did we had people enter with us the elevator without wearing masks (and they were coughing),

Also, other hotels had enforced either a minimum number of guests in the elevators or only same-household groups in the elevators; none of that was mentioned nor enforced here and it was basically to each their own how they wanted to proceed.

Don't be caught off guard like me, and note that their is NO elevator in the garage. Yep.

@100 degrees this hotel pool was closed on a Sunday because someone threw a glass bottle in the pool… today is Monday very hot day and the pool is not ready.. It’s Houston and it’s very hot.

Hotels should have hot water, we had no hot water the entire stay.

And in the kitchen the hot water was on the cold water side and the cold water was on the hot water side.

Night 1

Night 2 wake up … no hot water .

You probably heard my screams from someone flushing the toilet after being scolded with the hot water!

There were Stains on the floor, room was hot because the thermostat wouldn’t go lower than 66 degrees.

1 was more updated with a very nice shower and the other was somewhat outdated with a shower with no hot water.

Then we get to our room and it reeked like old mold and marijuana and the ax was super hot I adjusted it several times and let the front desk know

The hot water temperature on the sink was set to magma and I almost scald myself simply washing my hands.

The shower did not get hot and shut off in the middle.

Room was mediocre and shower was not really hot enough (just bareable).

The water for a shower varied during the shower from ice cold to scalding hot.

Very poor executive lounge with hot items that were served cold.

My wife and I got married in Houston this weekend.

I make it a point to stay at this hotel every time we are in Houston.

We came for the Ability Expo in Houston, which is a trade show for people with disabilities.

I will be returning next visit in Houston.

It is by far my favorite hotel in Houston.

I HAVE been to alot of hotels and none compare to the amazing hotel in Houston tx.
