The Best Western Plaza Hotel is by far and away the best of the three airport hotels near the Honolulu Airport.

We had an unexpected layover in Honolulu and when Delta Airlines offered this hotel, I was suspicious.

We arrived late into Honolulu and missed our connecting flight to Kauai.

though I'd stay here again even if I was spending a few days in Honolulu.

Originally I had planned to pick it up 3 weeks later when I returned to Honolulu, and they agreed to keep it safe until my return.

I still think they ought to have a better airport hotel in Honolulu

After the initial disappointment and renting a car, we enjoyed our time in Oahu - Honolulu.

Our overall experience of our staying was very good and we recommend this hotel for staying near Honolulu Airport.

This hotel appeared to be one of the better deals in Honolulu.

This Best Western is walking distance to the Honolulu airport, which we did with suitcases,

We used Honolulu as a base for trips to American Samoa and French Polynesia.

It was so convenient for parking and right in the middle of Honolulu, close to freeway access and airport.

They have an airport shuttle starting at 6 a.m. and it isn't far.

The room was very clean and comfortable   The location is near the airport and their free shuttle is handy.

Another highlight was the proximity of the hotel to the airport.

So noisy from elevated freeway that hotel literally sits under.

She got us to the airport outside the every hour on the hour shuttle service, so while that dinged them, overall, I would stay here again.

The hotel is 5 minutes to the airport and should be shuttling people every at least on the half hour. Nope.

The Plaza is ok and of the limited airport hotels near HNL it is probably your best option.

Best Western was a mile away from the airport so we decided to go with that.

Originally I picked this hotel as it was near the airport, with free shuttle service and I wanted a quick place to rest after a long Trans-Pacific flight.

My experience with hotels near airports is mixed.

We have stayed at the Best Western Plaza Hotel twice now, wanting to be near the airport for a morning flight out.

My Bondi building had 8 hrs of electrical generator repairs there no power, elevators, water, internet, etc.

I see from other reviews that the elevator issue is not a new one .

Arrived on 2/5 only to find out that one of the 2 elevators was down and has been down for the entire time that I was here.

We waited thru 6 elevators before we could get on along with a cart full of luggage.

Otherwise be ware that half the hotel is actually a horribly insecure motel with no elevator to second floor.

but there isn't an elevator for this part of the hotel so we had to haul a couple of very heavy suitcases up the stairs.

no lift for second storey, no offer to assist with bags from staff.

Throw-up in and around elevator- couldn’t be cleaned up until maids were off break; other elevator wasn’t working; no stairs until 3rd floor; loud parties on our floor-nothing done; filthy, disgusting

The staff makes it sound like the customer is being done a favor by being assigned a room in the courtyard area , be prepared to encounter full blast freeway noise .

Yes, its close to the freeway so you can hear traffic.

In regards to the freeway noise, Perhaps improved window treatments as well as window replacements would decrease the decibles.

If I would have know how loud it would have been because you’re right on the freeway and a 25 dollar ride away to the beach I would have stayed closer to the water.

If the noise of the freeway doesn’t keep you up, the air conditioning, which you cannot control, blasts constantly.

I did read reviews that said the Hotel noise level is very loud due to the surrounding airport and freeway traffic

The hotel is right next to the freeway so there was quite a bit of traffic noise,

The only reason I and giving 4 stars is because of the noise of the freeway.

Cons - noisy; airplanes and constant freeway noise.

The location and price was ideal to where i was needed avoiding the tourism areas and the rush hour traffic.

The hotel is conveniently located to Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam and the Navy Exchange/Commissary.

Location- right next to the freeway and industrial type area.

The location is within walking distance to the beach, restaurants  and shopping.

BUT, this motel is located in an industrial type area with freeways right beside it.

Not worried about the convenience of being located to an airport if that airport keeps me up at night.

however we chose it due to it's location to the airport and the free shuttle.

After arriving and collecting our luggage, we called the hotel and they directed us the location,where we should obtain that shuttle.

I selected this location in regard to proximity to a conference venue.

The room was tidy and clean staff were helpful, food options around within walking distance  and the biggest asset is the complimentary shuttle service which saves a lot of headaches.

They made us get two rooms at a cost of almost $500 for one night.

The hotel room we were in was comfortably large with two supportive beds, and clean, Except for the tub.

Thank goodness the room was exceptionally clean and we were able to get some sleep before heading back to the airport.

Since it is  an airport hotel, breakfast starting time should be cater for the first flight of the day, not 7:00am, a lot of customers miss the breakfast on the day, a takeaway pact is given, which is very basic ( a bottle of water, an apple, 2 muesli bar ).

This past visit was tragic as we were without hot water.

The hot water was plentiful for a shower.

Not that I care about the free bottle water and the snacks,

The windows are very thin so the road noise was very loud making it difficult to sleep.

However, the window remains extremely dirty and they need replacement.

Unfortunately, the memory that might stay with us the longest is the noise from the Nimitz Fwy., which was right outside the window.

Our room, a pet-friendly, family room, was on the backside first floor, so it was rather noisy, especially owing to the rather loud & obnoxious a/c window unit.

but they needed to wash the terribly dirty windows.

The double window glazing does not provide optimal isolation from the incessant noise traffic of N Nimitz Highway of 

With all the windows I expected noise as other reviews noted

Highway noise from the Nimitz Freeway penetrated the single pane windows,

We kept checking the windows to make sure they weren’t open as there was so much noise entering the room.

The only way to block out the traffic noise was to keep the loud window A/C running and the room smelled a gym locker.

We knew the hotel was close to the road, so we had to keep the window shut.

The room was okay, only the carpet in front of the window was completely wet.

Every time he heard a bike or helicopter go by, he'd push the chair to the window & just stare at it as it goes by.

Hotel is noisy no double pane windows for this place so bring earplugs.

My family and I could stay at any top notch hotel in Honolulu on my insurance dime, yet we're here and very much content..this place ain't so bad//

We arrived in Honolulu on a 5am flight and didn’t depart again until 2:30 so took a chance on the Airport Honolulu Hotel.

We stayed at the Honolulu Airport Hotel and the staff was fantastic.

All this and a highly competitive price so close to the airport and we will certainly stay here again when passing through Honolulu.

High price for an average room with noisy aircon.

Trying to go the sleep we had to deal with a noisy AC.

The air conditioner masked out any noise from the roadway outside our room.

Put in a room right beside a very busy freeway and the air conditioning unit was so noisy!

But the major problem is the extremely noisy a/c and the lack of sound-proofing.

Well the good things are the hotel is close to the airport and the staff were excellent.

We had an early morning flight and needed a convenient and comfortable option near the airport.

Close to airport, fast food and bus stop.

Picked this location simply because of it's proximity to the airport and what a hidden gem!

It is close enough to the airport that they have a free shuttle.

If you need to be near the airport this is a good place to stay for a short stay.

We arrived after a long day of sightseeing, staying close to the airport for our return home.

Got in at about 9pm the last shuttle bus from the airport was 10pm.

The free bus transfer took us at 5 am to the airport and he was lovely.

USS Arizona Memorial only 10min away by city bus.

We had a really nice stay, easy access to airport and bus line to city.

Hotel is just 15 minutes away from major shopping center by bus also Pearl Harbor and the Arizona Memorial.

I especially want to give a shout out to “Alex” who works in front and stores luggage for you, calls taxis and directs you to the bus system along with putting our luggage on the shuttle to the airport.

Hotel was convenient to bus stops and just minutes from the airport by their free shuttle bus.

Will also like to mention the front desk staff, restaurant staff, and shuttle team all took liberties to assure amenities and full services were provided.

Our last hotel stay before we headed back home, great location with a free shuttle bus from the airport and free back to the airport the next morning.

Property is quite close to bus stops going in both directions (away from downtown Hono and towards).

4 hours later we were met by the shuttle bus which took us, and our shopping, to our hotel.

Have to take a bus to sister property and only breakfast buffet.

The bus stops outside the hotel under the bypass and make travel fun to Pearlridge , Ala Moana or even Waikiki or out in the country.

Gave us information how to get the bus around so we could enjoy Honolulu & head over to Waikiki for the day.

Location is perfect to get to places such as Pearl Harbour memorial, Waikele factory outlets, Ross Dress for Less, Waikiki, Ala Moana centre, China town by local bus.

There is a white paper that you can take from the front desk that tells you what bus to catch.

I saw the shuttle bus starting up, so I ran back to catch a ride to the airport.

But the best thing is a free 24 hours shuttle to the airport.

The rooms are clean and the property is very convenient to the airport and rental car return.
