We stayed there twice, no faults at all, staff very helpfull and friendly on all aspects.

I would like to thank all the staff at The Bridgewood Manor for a wonderful wedding celebration.The staff were friendly, helpful and very efficient.The food was delicious,the wedding room was excellent and the hotel room great.A big thank you to the DJ Dave provided by the hotel,who was a great entertainer and kept the party lively

Staff were very friendly at reception when we arrived.

I will summarize as follows:

All members of staff we met were polite and friendly.

It was waiter service at dinner, very friendly youngsters

All the staff were very friendly and the bedroom was gorgeous

Staff are very friendly and professional.

All the staff we encountered were so friendly and helpful and there was no issues when we wanted to eat outside for example, everything was accommodated with a smile.

Every member of the team were friendly and greeted you when passing asking cheerily if we were ok. Or how are you.

Whilst the staff are polite and friendly, some don’t look happy in their work whilst others go above and beyond.

Staff were also very friendly and helpful during our stay.

Events manager Tina made all the arrangements beforehand so effortless, being sympathetic, understanding and friendly organising availability, discussing what Bridgewood could offer and pricing, afternoon tea was worth every penny!

First time we stayed here, very quite on the guest front which was a shame for the staff, all of which were lovely, friendly and welcoming.

From start to finish the staff were so friendly and helpful.

but very disappointed with the condition of the hotel.

I realise there is not much the hotel can do about the first three bad points without extensive renovations

The hotel itself is in urgent need of updating

There were strands coming away from the 1980’s carpet , the window was obviously leaking as the window sill is in very poor condition.

The hotel is a bit tired and needs updating.

However, I feel this place is just in need of an entire refurbishment.

Very old fashioned  and in need of updating to be like Premier Inns.

I do think the spa area needs attention and updating especially as it’s advertised as a spa hotel,  perhaps a jacuzzi added as due to these issues we spent most of the morning sitting in the garden area.

however room very disappointing - basic and outdated, very fusty smell even with window wide open.

but what can I say, so so outdated the arm chair needed chucking in the bin!

They look old and in need of a good renovation.

Don’t be fooled by the grand name or the 4 star rating - this is a hugely disappointing soulless hotel in desperate need of refurbishment and a big dose of service training for the staff.

The only downside would be the standard double rooms need updating, we were told the superior room we had been upgraded to is a room which had been updated,

The Therapy areas could do with some updating & do not project the same image as the rest of the spa area.

The hotel was going through some renovation

So 3 for the room and hotel generally and 5 for breakfast averages out at a 4 overall. we may well come back after the refurbishment and see how it has (hopefully!)

However, the restaurant didn’t live up to expectations.

They have a 2 course and 3 course food deals which again were good value.

The food was extremely good and my allergies were catered for.

However the food really was amazing once we got it.

Restaurant service was very very slow for evening meal, breakfasts were great as it was self service.

The food, when it arrived was acceptable.

The dinner menu is quite limited and it isn’t clear that you can order from the bar menu as well in the a la carte restaurant.

I’d booked the honeymoon suite, spa treatment & dinner package.

but a little dated,the hotel is fine with a nice spa and the food very nice.

The breakfast buffet outstanding, The pe ordered dinner menu choice and quality 5 star.

We had a choice from a set menu or a la carte, the latter was very limited.

Check is was extremely efficient and all of the the people at the hotel were very welcoming and worked hard.

My son had his Wedding Reception here, the stay and facilities were spot on , and on the evening of the Reception the staff and organisers went above and beyond,,.

I went as part of a coach trip, reception staff very friendly and helpful, room a good size.

On checking in the staff were very pleasant on reception, I had forgotten to remove our dog from the booking as I booked before he died,

One wanders whether the hotel is having difficulty in recruiting competent staff.

She went above and beyond for us no matter the questions we had.

All the staff were so so lovely and the reception staff were so welcoming!

Firstly , the staff wee so helpful, I would like to single out Maddie who was so attentive to our wedding party on Friday and to my new wife and I this evening, a big thank you.

Stayed recently and loved it, had a nice massage and a relaxing trip with my husband, the receptionist Georgia was very helpful on check in and even brought me up a hair dryer when ours broke, she was a god send and went out of her way to make our stay perfect so thank you Georgia, very appreciated!

however was well presented and tasty

For a business trip or stop over the price makes it 3/5 if you came here looking for a nice spa stay it would likely be a disappointment.

Just home from a lovely trip to Kent, where we spent four nights at Bridgewood Manor.

The hotel generally is very clean, the staff friendly and the facilities ok. None of my negative points mentioned spoilt the trip in any way,

Stayed for a night while on business trip and found this a very nice hotel.

We were on a coach trip from Suffolk with Eastons Coaches for a  weekend in Kent, going to Canterbury, Leeds Castle for the fireworks and then back via London.

After booking I looked in Trip Advisor and saw some very negative reviews so it was with some trepidation we booked in.

Visited two nights on coach trip to visit gardens in area.

Location was ideal for visiting Kent Castles

OverallI don’t recommend anyone visit this hotel, and would suggest that the star rating is downgraded as a matter of urgency.

Visited here on Father’s Day and wished I hadn’t bothered.

Booked this hotel for a weekend so that my husband and I could visit nearby Rochester and Chatham Historical Dockyard.

So we booked the hotel and rooms for our 16 guests having visited the hotel and being impressed with the atmosphere and staff on the visits.

Stayed at The Bridgewood Manor Hotel for 4 nights we were on a coach tour visiting the towns and attractions in Kent the hotel was an idea location for this purpose.

From my observation, I would say they were running more than one member of staff down, as service wasn’t as good as previous visits to the Bridgewood Manor.

Brought my daughter for her birthday for a spa day last week can not fault the place then today returned with my partner to show him around now he wants to become a member definitely got our custom now and huge thank you to Deborah Davey who made our visit perfect from start to finish

We have just left the Bridgewood Manor Hotel after 10 days visiting family.

Sparkling glass would have made today’s visit get full marks .

Stayed here because me and my partner wanted a spa break while visiting Rochester castle.

The confusion meant we waited over an hour for food.. breakfast was lovely, best meal of the visit!

We visited this hotel as part of a coach tour.

All in all such a disappointing visit on this occasion to the two previous visits to your Hotel.

We visited as part of a tour group travelling with the excellent Parry's International.

In summary : Definitely worth a visit for the service, comfort, meals, spa and break !

I visited this hotel around 3 years ago & had a great experience.

Visited here with my father in law to celebrate his 65th birthday for a couple of drinks in the afternoon.

On the second night we ate in the bar and had a one hour fifteen minute wait for food as they claimed the kitchen hadn't received our order.

I did have a long wait for food one afternoon in the bar and eventually had to enquire about it -

Although we gave a time we would be there, we had to wait 45 minutes to receive food.

but still my room was not ready, by 3pm I’d had enough and checked on my phone for other hotels around as I wasn’t waiting any longer .

I booked twin room for me and mum dinner bed and breakfast Hotel is lively staff very friendly we checked in at 3 unpacked went straight for a swim due to covid atm only 2 people in sauna and steam room so people were waiting for them pool was lively we took own dressing gown

We were forced to cancel ours when they moved it after waiting 6 days.

(due to covid i would have expected better)

Me and my friends couldnt wait to get out quicker.

We waited far too long for service, then when we ordered food took an hour to come.

although had a long wait of 40 minutes from taking the order to the food arriving at the table.

30mins had passed & they were still cold so I went down to reception & I was told they turn on after 5pm, so we had to wait in a cold room for 2hrs.

The long wait and mind boggling inflation was slightly irritating

This is a covid hotspot waiting to happen.

Despite arriving at the restaurant at the agreed time I waited an hour and a quarter before my breakfast arrived.

but tables were not being seen to and we did hear other couples complaining about the wait for their meals.

False promises made by the reception more than twice restoration of heating system,
portable heater arrived after a long wait.

but if we wanted to check in before 3pm there was a £20/25 charge per room so we decided to wait as we had 3.

We were not told we had to pre-order lunch, and then there was a 20 minute wait between the first and last meal being brought out with no apology.

On the second night we waited for 45 minutes for our starters,

No air conditioning and the window only opened an inch so we couldn't get any airflow.

On a previous visit I mentioned the security light flashing on and off through the night, this is still an issue and as previously said could be solved with an additional black out blind as well as the curtains.

although the window would not open enough to allow the passage of fresh air - temperatures touched
 33 degrees during our stay!

As the room was on the ground floor and backing on to the car park we didn't feel safe opening the window .

but with no drapes or anything on it, giving the feel of the of a prison.

The net curtain had a hole in the bottom.

They should either re-do their windows, or at least I would have liked to know about it when booking.

I also wish that shower curtains were a thing of the past,horrible things.I had to ask for a hairdryer which was promptly supplied.Dinner was a disappointment the beef roast was solid and I couldn’t begin to cut it.As it went back I watched my husband eat his dinner which was great,ribs.I had a lovely replacement pie.Lovely Jasmine was great and apologetic.There is a nice walk through a wood valley very close by .Breakfast would have been better if there was at least one member of staff to ask for assistance.It was like the Marie Celeste ! !

I knew this would be an issue straight away as it seemed like the window couldn’t close!

However, our first floor room was positioned close to a suite, during a wedding reception on the Saturday night, so we had to close the window due to the noise.

Although the hotel is almost right on a very busy road, we hardly heard it with the windows closed.

Only negatives, view aspects from bedrooms are not appealing, the hotel could make some effort on this, and proximity to busy roads means that if windows are left open there is Road hum even at night.

however i have to say i felt let down by the experience in general, particularly as Google Maps took me way of the hotels location and i had to telephone the hotel for directions.I did not like the fact there were no grounds other than the courtyard to  wander around and all the windows in the rooms only opened a couple of inches, found our room quite hot during the night.

even though the window was left open all night.

but there's no  air con and the windows only open about an inch.

Overnight the hotel rooms were ridiculously overheated to the point of discomfort, with all 5 of our party citing excessive heat for the reason that they experienced a bad nights sleep, even with the window open!

Funny that, considering there were people outside your bedroom window until the early hours, not conducive to a good nights sleep.

The other thing was it was really quite hot in the rooms, can't really have windows open cos you are right near motor way and sadly no air-con

We were very surprised by the friendly welcome and warmth by the staff,We will certainly stay again.It was a very relaxing stay over,We will definitely stay at the great danes again when we travel to france.

The good points are that the receptionist was helpful and friendly, the large bed was comfortable, the breakfast was good and prices weren’t too bad at the bar.

Breakfast was average, staff friendly though.

Wonderful friendly greeting from Jade and other reception staff on arrival .

Every member of staff we came across at the Mercure Great Dane was friendly and could not have done anymore for us, this was from the reception staff to the restaurant and also the health suite and spa.

All staff were friendly and Covid aware and wore masks in the public areas, as we did.

The rooms are nice and clean, staff very friendly.

Kev on the bar, nice guy, friendly, big smiles.

Arrived as part of a coach party the staff were friendly and helpful.

The highlight of the hotel was the staff - all friendly and could not do enough for you to make the stay a really enjoyable one - reception, housekeeping, restaurant & bar and leisure facility - thanks!

Sadly the corridors leading to the rooms really need a makeover, the walls look a bit shabby, our room was small and had a very odd smell to it like stale smoke.

Elevators are far from most of the rooms and not enough to help you reach your room if you're down at the end of the long hallways.

Drunken guests were staggering along the corridors and slamming their doors well into the early hours.

but the music stopped at midnight so no problem but a few of the guests were noisy early hours of the morning sadly in their rooms and corridors.

However the size was confounded by multiple long corridors with stairs at half levels and limited lift access.

1) the room was smaller than the one we reserved (the management agree to reduce our bill for this)
2) Our particular room 123 was very hard to find and there were no signs (it was around a corner on a hall with rooms numbered 200).

but slightly dated and could do with some redecoration

The stay itself was lovely but noisy people going up and down the corridor all night left us with little sleep. .

We were very pleased that we got a discounted deal as we would have been very disappointed otherwise

One woman selfishly had a loud conversation on her mobile in the corridor in the early hours of the morning which woke me and kept me awake for quite a while.

Issued our rooms which were a ridiculous walk away through a maze of corridors.

The only thing that let the experience down a bit was tired appearance of the hallway with torn carpet and flaky paint, the lack of lift which would be a pain with more luggage and younger children.

.the drip coming from the fixed head was more of game “try to catch the drop to wash.  ”

We tried complaining in the evening and whilst friendly, all the staff could say was that they could not do anything about it.

A little noise from doors closing in the hallway and the walls between rooms perhaps were a little thin

The walls are very thin and you can hear every word spoke in the corridor therefore very noisy at night.

Just a long series of corridors with small tired rooms.

The room was then half way along the corridor - a disabled room had been requested and to be fair it was equipped for disabled guests,

Many of the rooms can only be accessed over a 2nd corridor

but the corridor to it was shoddy and in need of redecoration.

We stayed here whilst  visiting Leeds Castle as it was close and convenient with plenty of parking.

The hotel is very near to Leeds Castle, which I think is, or is very near to the birthplace of Anne Bolyn.

I stayed with a family member overnight after attending a wedding at leeds castle on the night of 25th july.

Was trying to get away for a relaxing night whilst in between travelling visiting Leeds Castle.

Its only saving grace was its convenient location to Leeds Castle.

We were booked to stay at this Hotel for an event at Leeds castle which was sadly cancelled due to Covid.

Yes this hotel is convenient if attending Leeds Castle BUT……..safe your money and stay elsewhere!

The hotel is well positioned for local attractions especially Leeds Castle which is next door, and has organised itself extremely well to cope with the covid outbreak.

Having spent a gloriously sunny day at Leeds Castle,  we decided to stay at this hotel to break the journey back home.

Arrived to stay at the hotel as the Leeds castle even orgestra was on !

This hotel is located conveniently between Maidstone and Ashford and right next to Leeds Castle.

It makes a great base to explore Leeds castle, local restaurants and the surrounding area when you are not using the hotel facilities.

I love the location  of the Great Danes, walking to Leeds Castle and it has fantastic grounds, excellent motorway access and, in the main friendly and helpful staff, I would thoroughly recommend the beauty salon

We booked this hotel as we were doing segway at Leeds Castle and it is only literally down the road.

The hotel does have a very good restaurant for the evening and breakfast was also excellent with plenty of choice.

The restaurant food was good in the evening, breakfast simply OK.

We used the pool which was lovely and warm and the evening meal was part of the evening entertainment so it was a set meal.

Came for dinner as a family for my parents wedding anniversary.

On breakfast there was a book on display so you could check out exactly what allergies foods had.

We had a joint 30th and 60th birthday party in a separated area in the main restaurant  with access to the outside area where younger members of the family played chess,the staff were very helpful and the buffet was loverly,thanks for making the party a great sussess.

You can go from Teriaki Chicken to Chicken Tikka Massala.

Dinner was excellent with plenty of choices .

though I was an hour early) and her team where so attentive, I have to give a shout out to Adam, in his new role he really flourished and really went above and beyond for us right through to the end of the night by saving me a plate of buffet food and a bottle of water.

I cannot fault Kelly, the whole Mercure team, and particularly the staff that supported us in the restaurant during the wake.

I was staying at the hotel and went to the large restaurant at 7pm.

Ate in the restaurant in the evening and food & service was very good.

however could not be changed it was stained be on belief I slept on top the quilt .

Bed and pillows uncomfortable,didn’t sleep at all.Was glad to be going home.

2 hours of achieved sleep as dehydrated with only a cheap fan and a persistent bed spring to keep us company i’ve never been so relieved to go home.

The room was lovely clean & tidy and the beds are comfortable i have just one observation i suffer from obstructive sleep apnoea and need to use a c-pap machine which needs to be by my bedside not all your rooms have plug points by the beds which means i need to bring an extension lead that trails across the room to the nearest point which if i need to get up at night potentially becomes a trip hazard.

I was left with a migraine and had no sleep all night
This is my worst experience ever.

Asked for extra pillows waited nearly an hour then to be told you had none and they gave me normal cushions from a sofa, how does a hotel like Mercure not have spare pillows.. so terrible night sleep..

The mattress was very uncomfortable, and it felt like sleeping in a water bed.

however the lack of sleep made for a very uncomfortable stay.

The bed was the most uncomfortable we've ever experienced in a hotel, it was like sleeping on a trampoline with absolutely no support.

So after our awful nights sleep we wandered down for breakfast.

We tried to sleep during the morning of the Saturday to make up for lack of sleep during Friday night time
