Wedding and  Birthday Party we’re going on over the weekend too.

We came today as a treat for my daughters 16th birthday.

We held a family birthday event at the hotel and again the venue and staff couldn't have been better.

Brought my daughter for her birthday for a spa day last week can not fault the place then today returned with my partner to show him around now he wants to become a member definitely got our custom now and huge thank you to Deborah Davey who made our visit perfect from start to finish

They helped us arrange the perfect birthday surprise that was totally tailored to our requirements.

Booked the dining room for a family birthday lunch for twelve.

Thank you everyone at BRIDGEWOOD for making our daughter's birthday so special.

Evening meals exceptional ..   bottle of bubbly delivered to room on arrival such a lovely surprise for our birthdays .

I booked an overnight spa break for my friend's 60th birthday.

She had even arranged for a ‘birthday boy’ message in chocolate on his dessert plate, which was a nice touch.

Visited here with my father in law to celebrate his 65th birthday for a couple of drinks in the afternoon.

when I told her on the phone it was my wife's birthday she upgraded our room and we had a free bottle of wine in the room waiting for us..she was fabulous.

7 of us went to celebrate a friends birthday and we were reserved an area by the fireplace.

My mum & I we’re celebrating our 70th & 50th birthdays, we had a lovely overnight stay 22nd November, a lovely massage by Jess feeling very relaxed afterwards

I took my mum here on a spa break from Spabreaks.com for her birthday.

She even helped us to book chairs in the seating area for lunch the next day, to make my birthday treat all the more special.

Hoped to book my daughter a couple of spa treatments for her 12th Birthday along with us having afternoon tea in the hotel.

Breakfast was excellent - best thing about the stay.

I would like to thank all the staff at The Bridgewood Manor for a wonderful wedding celebration.The staff were friendly, helpful and very efficient.The food was delicious,the wedding room was excellent and the hotel room great.A big thank you to the DJ Dave provided by the hotel,who was a great entertainer and kept the party lively

Only good thing about breakfast was the mushrooms and fried eggs.

You do have a choice of full English, continental and cereals.

The hotel is like the curate’s egg - good in parts!

Restaurant service was very very slow for evening meal, breakfasts were great as it was self service.

The varied and tasty buffet breakfast was very good and the tables were cleared immediately by the lovely, friendly staff.

The breakfast buffet outstanding, The pe ordered dinner menu choice and quality 5 star.

On the up side the food was nice and the raspberry cheesecake delicious.

We had an enjoyable breakfast in the hotel, this took the form of a ‘serve yourself buffet’, a very wide range of foods were on offer all of which seemed well cooked.

For 2 nights inc breakfast we got a great deal.

Finish off your basic stay with a breakfast hall bursting at the seems; half the guests relegated to the bar area sofas.

Breakfast was brilliant with a great choice.

Plus being on hand with a comforting word, cup of coffee and slice of toast which was much appreciated!

We stayed there twice, no faults at all, staff very helpfull and friendly on all aspects.

Staff were very friendly at reception when we arrived.

I will summarize as follows:

All members of staff we met were polite and friendly.

It was waiter service at dinner, very friendly youngsters

All the staff were very friendly and the bedroom was gorgeous

The staff are very friendly and accommodating-

Staff at the hotel are very friendly and obliging.

Staff are very friendly and professional.

All the staff we encountered were so friendly and helpful and there was no issues when we wanted to eat outside for example, everything was accommodated with a smile.

Every member of the team were friendly and greeted you when passing asking cheerily if we were ok. Or how are you.

Whilst the staff are polite and friendly, some don’t look happy in their work whilst others go above and beyond.

Staff were also very friendly and helpful during our stay.

Events manager Tina made all the arrangements beforehand so effortless, being sympathetic, understanding and friendly organising availability, discussing what Bridgewood could offer and pricing, afternoon tea was worth every penny!

First time we stayed here, very quite on the guest front which was a shame for the staff, all of which were lovely, friendly and welcoming.

From start to finish the staff were so friendly and helpful.

The other complaint about rooms on this corridor is the amount of noise you experience in the rooms from the conference and wedding venues within the hotel, which are heavily used day and night.

There were two wedding receptions taking place on the Saturday night, so the hotel was very lively and noisy

although turned off a midnight still left guests in the central patio square shouting until past 4 in the morning.

but intermittently, giving a flowing and dripping noise, waking us up at night.

although we could hear the disco from our bedroom it wasn’t that loud and certainly didn’t stop us from sleeping.

At gone midnight and before 6 am it’s disturbing enough.

but u can hire robes nice warm relaxation area  room was lively nice big tv only moan only 2 sockets in room not 1 by the bed so had to move stuff about to plug in kettle charger and hairdryer table booked for 7pm  u get an allowance of £28 per person we had soup and a prawn and squid dip lovely then we had bavette steak with amazing chips and garlic butter the a banana and toffee creme brulee stunning we only had to oay £3 difference  beds were comfy nice big rad in room u can here the road (m2) if u have window open nice bath and shower we gad room 38 which is fairly quiet at the back of hotel.

Friday night. .

It was very noisy and I could hear the people talking in the next room.

but that we should not hear too much of them - and they'd be over by 11pm.

You come there to relax and the noise the unbearable .

She and her fellow waitress started talking about me loudly as my husband walked past them.

Could hear doors banging, dogs barking through the night having requested a quieter room.

Some pork could not be cut to eat and was a strange colour (to me this was old freezer stock, colourless and tasteless) Fish dishes smelt on the plate and could not be masked with a sauce, I felt this was also old food from the freezer.

Unfortunately, later that evening, there was an unwelcome disturbance with an unsavoury resident-

The bed was hard and the guy next door peeing at full volume shows how little the place has soundproofing.

When we finally got into bed I couldn't sleep at all because the mattress is all bumpy and it makes awful squeaky noise when we move.

In the evening there was a lot of noise shouting and music playing I assume from one of the parties or the wedding guests.

but this did mean that we could hear every word of the man next door swearing and shouting, which was interesting.

Check is was extremely efficient and all of the the people at the hotel were very welcoming and worked hard.

My son had his Wedding Reception here, the stay and facilities were spot on , and on the evening of the Reception the staff and organisers went above and beyond,,.

I went as part of a coach trip, reception staff very friendly and helpful, room a good size.

On checking in the staff were very pleasant on reception, I had forgotten to remove our dog from the booking as I booked before he died,

One wanders whether the hotel is having difficulty in recruiting competent staff.

She went above and beyond for us no matter the questions we had.

All the staff were so so lovely and the reception staff were so welcoming!

Firstly , the staff wee so helpful, I would like to single out Maddie who was so attentive to our wedding party on Friday and to my new wife and I this evening, a big thank you.

There is no air con in the rooms and the sound proofing is not very good.

This meant they were dripping with condensation in the morning!

The wasn’t any air conditioning, just a fan in the room so it was quite hot and this wasn’t in the heatwave.

Rooms were stifling hot,NO AIR COOLERS only a small fan that did nothing to cool the room.

but was told on arrival at 10am check in wasn’t available, had to wait till 11:50, was told we would be credited back the £20 fee but this didn’t happen, Rooms very warm although a fan was in the room.

No airconditioning in the rooms, which are so small they are more like cupboards.

No fridge in the room (for my insulin) and no air conditioning made it unbearably hot even with the window open.

2 hours of achieved sleep as dehydrated with only a cheap fan and a persistent bed spring to keep us company i’ve never been so relieved to go home.

No air conditioning and windows that open only a few inches.

Rooms are 1000 degrees (no air con) and smell of stale smoke.

No aircon, no fan nothing offered in the heatwave.

The room was pokey, the temperature unbearably hot due to no air conditioning and windows that could not be fully opened.

When we got checked in and went up to our room we looked out the window and could see a tree along with the bright pink mercure sign in the background and the loud sounds of ventilation fans which we believe are the kitchen fans.

Also the heating was up so high in the room it was like a sauna and there was a brown stain on the ceiling..

Our room was lovely although the room was so hot the windows only opened a crack our fan didn’t work there was no air it wasn’t even that warm outside

A fan was provided to make up for lack of aircon.

The rooms really do need updating as they are showing their age, the shower curtain was a surprise and disappointing especially for a 4 star hotel.

One of the bedside light switches was broken and was fixed after reporting, unlike the toilet roll holder that was also broken buy never got fixed!

There were stains on the walls and ceiling, the bathroom had not been cleaned there was hairs on floor and they were still there when we left.

The tap didn’t reach over the basin enough so water kept running around the sink.

A double room at £150 was so small 2 people could not fit in the bathroom  the same time.

Swimming pool and spa area was quite dirty the ladies changing rooms toilet bins are overflowing and stunk the hot tub wasn’t clean not a particular pleasant experience.

The bathroom looked like it hadn't been refurbished since the 1980s.

I didnt think a hotel could get any worse

When we arrived someone had already used the beds and bathroom disgusting

I still wake up in a cold sweat thinking of this toilet of a dump.

The toilets were in need of some attention, 2 out of 4 cubicles didn’t have locks on the doors and there was a big wooden partition up and looked terrible.

but it was fairly small and a bit tatty the bathroom and the bath were particularly small.

Rooms are shocking, damaged paintwork, damage to walls & bathrooms.

The sink tap in my room had hardly any flow, why this hadn’t been picked up when the room was serviced I don’t know.

Went to toilet only to find pubic hair on seat!

The lake was in the far distant and the only reason we realised it was actually there was as we could see a fishing rod!!!

There was no soap dish in or on the wash basin so the soap became soggy.

So I decided I would go for a swim the pool /spa is very dated, very old and old 80s sauna look, water was very deep and not suitable for family’s and it was freezing the jacuzzi had hard plastic seats , the towels where thread bare hard &
Crunchy the changing rooms were unisex to be greeted by naked people the toilets by the pool were dirty and covered in urine I feel very uncomfortable.

The bathroom had broken and chipped tiles.

The hotel does have a very good restaurant for the evening and breakfast was also excellent with plenty of choice.

The restaurant food was good in the evening, breakfast simply OK.

We had a delightful and very tasty dinner followed by an excellent choice of breakfast the next morning, all cooked to perfection.

The good points are that the receptionist was helpful and friendly, the large bed was comfortable, the breakfast was good and prices weren’t too bad at the bar.

The breakfast was one of the best we have had .

Breakfast was average, staff friendly though.

On breakfast there was a book on display so you could check out exactly what allergies foods had.

One plus point, the cooked breakfast was very reasonable.

The breakfast buffet was fairly adequate.

Breakfast had plenty to offer, cooked and continental .

We had a joint 30th and 60th birthday party in a separated area in the main restaurant  with access to the outside area where younger members of the family played chess,the staff were very helpful and the buffet was loverly,thanks for making the party a great sussess.

though I was an hour early) and her team where so attentive, I have to give a shout out to Adam, in his new role he really flourished and really went above and beyond for us right through to the end of the night by saving me a plate of buffet food and a bottle of water.

such a lot of choice of excelent food.

She provided access to a TV for us to broadcast a photo stream during the event, access in advance to erect a board of condolence cards; a beautiful afternoon tea buffet with plenty of tea and coffee and extra cups when needed….And staff who could not do enough to help.

We paid for breakfast which had a good selection of:

Hot drinks , juices , cereals , cooked breakfast,  pastries , breads , fruit, yogurts and was an unlimited buffet.

Breakfast was great as a variety of foods to choose from Inc a fantastic English breakfast.

We were very surprised by the friendly welcome and warmth by the staff,We will certainly stay again.It was a very relaxing stay over,We will definitely stay at the great danes again when we travel to france.

The food arrived by an efficient & friendly team

Wonderful friendly greeting from Jade and other reception staff on arrival .

Every member of staff we came across at the Mercure Great Dane was friendly and could not have done anymore for us, this was from the reception staff to the restaurant and also the health suite and spa.

All staff were friendly and Covid aware and wore masks in the public areas, as we did.

The rooms are nice and clean, staff very friendly.

Kev on the bar, nice guy, friendly, big smiles.

Arrived as part of a coach party the staff were friendly and helpful.

The highlight of the hotel was the staff - all friendly and could not do enough for you to make the stay a really enjoyable one - reception, housekeeping, restaurant & bar and leisure facility - thanks!

The grounds of the hotel are fairly pleasant,

The grounds for walking the dog were well lit and plentiful.

The room was bigger than normal and had a great view of the grounds.

Albeit the view from our room was mainly of the grounds of the hotel so still a nicer view than the other rooms that faced the buildings/car park.

It is well worth a walk around the 26 acre grounds.

but the pleasant surprise came from the grounds, the hotel itself, the food and the staff all of which exceeded expectations.

The room was fine with a good view of the grounds.

The hotel also has resident peacocks that walk around its grounds - These are fine to look at

The staff grounds and peacocks are the only things keeping the restaurant alive , overall the hotel was clean

My children always love to enjoy the lovely grounds (and harassing the peacocks).

The room we were given, was comfortable, and nicely decorated with a gorgeous view of the grounds and lake,

I love the location  of the Great Danes, walking to Leeds Castle and it has fantastic grounds, excellent motorway access and, in the main friendly and helpful staff, I would thoroughly recommend the beauty salon

As it was a sunny day we also got to use the beautiful grounds.

They were accommodating to our dogs and the extensive grounds were great for the dogs and wandering.

The hotel is set in some nice parkland and we could watch all the Wagtails and occasional Pheasant wandering the grounds as we had dinner.

We stayed here whilst  visiting Leeds Castle as it was close and convenient with plenty of parking.

Stayed here prior to a wedding  at  Leeds Castle which is very close by.

The hotel is very near to Leeds Castle, which I think is, or is very near to the birthplace of Anne Bolyn.

The hotel is very large in a lovely location close to Leeds castle.

Bus stop to Maidstone up the road, Leeds Castle within walking distance & a very nice Village called Hollingbourne across the road.

A fantastic location, walking distance to Leeds Castle and only a short drive to some great shopping.

We only booked to stay at this hotel due to its close proximity to Leeds Castle and we were attending a wedding there.

Leeds castle near by and Maistone 5 minutes away.

The hotel is close to Leeds castle so has a good location if you're visiting there.

Located at a walking distance from Leeds Castle and not far from Hollingbourne train station (about 20 min walk), the Mercure is a very good choice.

It is a walking distance from Leeds Castle and that was ideal for us, as we wanted to visit that place and we didn't have a car.

The hotel is really good value for money and so close for Leeds castle and other sights.

Hotel in short easy walking distance to Leeds castle, staff very helpful despite being very busy with many arrivals for same reason and all trying to book in early.

We hope that things improve here since it really is a great location and close to Leeds castle as well.

It has lovely grounds and is close to leeds castle.

The hotel is well located, very close to Leeds castle, close to Maidstone and near M20.

I chose this hotel for it's proximity to Leeds Castle.

Near to leeds castle and to Bearsted village.

I would say the noise from the road was continuous and would suggest that if given a choice maybe a room at the back would be quieter

I was disappointed to hear one waitress say to a waiter that she’ll just get a dodgy tummy if she eats that.

There was a very noisy wedding reception with live music which went on beyond 11pm.

We went to bed after dinner only to be woken up at about 2am with so much noise coming from outside from a group that were talking, singing and chanting sport songs.

Whole building is noisy, doors everywhere rattle the fabric.

The first night I was kept awake by traffic noise which o thought was strange until I opened the curtains in the morning and realised the windows are only single glazed.

but the music stopped at midnight so no problem but a few of the guests were noisy early hours of the morning sadly in their rooms and corridors.

Some guests were a bit noisy through the night,

I had pre booked a massage in for 4.30 I walked down to the spa I waited for 10 mins for a rude Therpist to come out and say keep the noise down which I hadn’t made any noise I said I had a appointment for 4.30 for a full body massage she augured with me and said it’s 5.30 your have to come back so off I went waited over an hour to come back again where another couple was standing I said I’m here for my appointments you told me to come back she said no your not booked in I said you told me to come back I have a booking on my phone

Opened bottom window and top slid down and could not close properly, so all night was noise from the bar and the main Road.

The lights in the bedroom made buzzing/ 
ticking noises for about half an hour after being switched off, which was not ideal when trying to sleep.

Despite paying late check out and the sign on the door we was disturbed multiple times by housekeeping.

Didn't need to be woken at 5.45on Sunday morning by compressor and hot air balloon being prepared.

The hotel management need to provide a solution for summer months - The rooms must be horrendous on a 25 degree + day.

Miserable staff who really don’t care, crap service, overpriced hotel, small rooms, peacock birds that keep you awake all through the night, rubbish buffet breakfast, slow service so don’t expect a drink in the bar for ages!

There was a wedding taking place at the same time, so it was a bit noisy, and in the morning part of the breakfast area was blocked out for the wedding guests. .

however the pool was clearly divided and although noisy did not take away from the experience.

i dont get how they think they can charge people to use their facilitates, even the walls were crumbling!

The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice.

Breakfast was tasty and plenty tables available.

Eventually we get our breakfast and it was tasty

Breakfast the following morning was also plentiful and fresh.

The breakfast was absolutely delicious, a full range of hot and cold items.

Cooked Breakfast was nice and had slightly more atmosphere.
