Nice balconies (on the mountain side) with great views.

Rooms are well decorated, really large, nice balcony to sit on, split bathroom/toilet with rain shower and heated floor that I personally adore.

Room was specious, high quality, balcony used every evening.

When choosing room category the higher standard rooms at the back are better if you want to use the balcony in the daytime due to the road,

I was 4 nights  and enjoy so much , A great room with view to the mountains , with a nice balcony.

Room was big enough for a family of three, nice balcony and a large bathroom.

Room was amazing, with a ”cute” balcony.

We had a suite 50 sqm with huge balcony which provides a nice view to the nearby mountains, a beachchair, table and two chairs.

The balcony had sun during end of the afternoon so we could drink a coffee on our balcony after a long hike.

The view from the balcony is absolutely stunning and I can just imagine what it must look like in winter.

The balcony looked out over the mountain, which was ski on/off and perfect for our group.

The rooms are generous in size and our suite had a lovely balcony and an indoor fireplace which made it very cozy.

Large beds are super comfy, and the room has a good sized balcony to relax on.

Deluxe Junior Suite is great and spacious for 2 and half occupancy with nice big balcony and mountain view.

The breakfast is also good and the room is nice.

We went there for a week of skiing and It goes without saying, that the location next to the ski lift is pure luxury  
F&B offering, from breakfast through in room dining to dinner is simply a culinary highlight.

At the Kempinski we had the best night  of all nights at the hotels we stayed with in Austria this vacation , it was just great experience , the room spa and breakfast was excellent , the staff was hospitable

This was our 2nd stay to Kempinski Das Tirol, we always enjoy the comfort of the hotel rooms and Kempinski breakfast, even in the time of pandemic this Year around.

The omelette at breakfast buffet is really the best!

Breakfast and dining at the main restaurant was good and it was excellent in the Sra Boa, their Asian place.

but dinner and breakfast heaven every day. .

Sra blue restaurant and breakfast quality is really good and you can find many kinds at breakfast and dinner as well.

So we stayed 4 days and the rooms and everything is nice with the very good buffet breakfast.

Luxury Breakfast and spacious rooms complete the experience .

The food at the BBQ on Friday evening was excellent, the dessert buffet could have been richer as there were only fruits and ice cream.

The cleanliness of the hotel was very poor, the staff very unhelpful.

It was a few metrs icy steep hill road where I felt couple times on the first day and poor instructor girls were carring kids on their back.

It's overpriced and that mainly due to the poor half board offering.

though polite and friendly), Rubin bar has strong tobacco smell - one would hardly enjoy such environment, massage technics and skills are poor and are not worth spending money, bed lienen was changed only once 1 day before our departure, no lunch in restaurant, just snacks in the lobby.

However the service in the hotel was very poor, after the hotel collection being late at the station the restaurant was very poor, the food was OK on one night and poor on the other two, and service was so bad one night we left without dessert having waited for 45 minutes for it to arrive.

In particular the restaurant service was poor and slow every night.

For example the WiFi signal in the STANDARD room is very poor which is rather unacceptable for avhigh end hotel like Kempinski.

Bad things: Ski storage facilities are poor.

but 99.9% of the guests at this hotel in the winter are there to ski and when you lose 3 days of skiing because of their poor ski school which they advertise as being part of the hotel I seriously think someone at the hotel should take some responsibility!

but failed to mention that this was at 15€ charge per day..
(-) The free internet is a very nice treat, but reception in the suite itself was very poor, however great in the common areas.

but it is surprising when the rest of the hotel was so excellent that this should be so in incredibly poor.

the Wellnes Area only a poor guy from Romania so it was hard to find out what they had to offer.

As you would expect with Euro poor and location of hotel it is expensive for food and drinks, and it's a taxi or bus ride to main town.

We have visited many times for drinks and snacks prior to the takeover and whilst casual food and drink quality was good, service was invariably lacking and a general air of poor management permeated.

We tried the restaurant once which was a big mistake as the food was tasteless and overpriced.

Price/performance: Rooms are starting at about EUR 250 which is rather expensive, at least in the summertime.

It would have been cheaper to have bought a skiers lift pass.

The dynamic pricing model(Airline Style) they use cost me 400 Euro.

but expensive -- spa, small but efficient gym, good restaurant, extensive winelist.

Instructor cost us 760 euro for two persons for three days.

We had half-board, so had dinner paid.

if you give your credit card during check in don' t give it again (no need) in check out because they can get the price of extras again by mistake.

One need to understand Luxury comes with price,

My only mild reservation is the excessive prices charged for alcohol and the food menus could do with an overhaul.

Rooms facing the back are more expensive.

Only word of caution is don't necessarily fall for the paid room upgrade to a mountain view.

The hahnenkamm is a 10minute drive from the hotel and the fixed rate for a van is €25 one way so keep in mind it will cost you €50 per day for this.

but the management staff was unmotivated with the tendency to arrogance, which is totally unacceptable on this price level.

They don't trust guests, even if you paid the total price of your stay 4-5 months in advance, they ask for your credit card to block a nice amount to cover your future consumption.

If you visit for skiing the connections from the green slope outside the hotel to the main resorts are all red so that's a drawback for beginners.

The skiing area is super big, very nice lifts (heated, covered etc), good connections etc.

In any case, I would think twice signing kids to the school were they can easy break the neck not from the skiing,

As a skiing resort and summer relaxation resort, you will always taste a very unique falvour of hospitality.

I liked especially the location as it was so easy to go skiing from it.

Kitzbuhel offers many different pistes and skiing down the historic streif is amazing.

Lovely area to relax after a day of skiing!

We stayed here on a 3 day half board skiing break, mainly because of the location(ski in ski out) and the high reputation of the Kempinski ( had stayed in 3 of their hotels before) The location of the hotel is excellent with it's own lift access to the slopes and a very good minibus collection service.

One nice thing about skiing is that the nearby slope is 100% free for everyone which comes handy if you have childeren or just want to chill.

If you love skiing it's the place to go as the hotel is literally built on a slope, it is not a long walk nor drive unlike other hotels.

Impressive is the location and they over all hotel facilities like skiing room, spa, lobby, rooms

If I get to go skiing in Austria, I will stay here with out a doubt.

Skiing facilities, renting and storage at tho hotel.

So all we had to do was pick the room key from the reception, everything else was already taken care of: luggage taken to the room, skiing equipment taken to the ski-room, car parked. Awesome.

Good thing we did as 5 minutes later she came skiing up to us by herself - saying she couldn't find her instructor so she skied down by herself - she's 6 years old.

We had fantastic weather during our stay which made up for a great week skiing.

Starting with the positives:
+ Great location with direct access to skiing
+ Very good rooms.

The only Con is that there is a strong smell of cooked food in the breakfast room that remains on your clothes for long time.

The Spa and swimming pool area is frankly disgusting.

Needs to improve in children area, the lady was lazy and just looking her phone instead of playing watching couple of kids, also there was a strange smell from the sink in the room that was not fixed during our stay

Unfortunately smoking is permitted on the balcony.

To not say disgusting after you have eaten it 3 times!

but permits smoking so can smell a but stale.

The only thing that I have found distracting are smokers in the bar -->

The dessert no choice offered and was a nasty pre-prepared sort of cream in a bowl.

Although I must admit that their was nearly no smell at all.

though was the fact you can smoke in the bar.

However, the spa and saunas are for both men and women, so do expect to find your opposite sex walking around with naked "butts".

The spa was lovely and the massages were spectacular – just what we needed to unwind and slow down on our vacation.

Pools are amazing, there are 6 or 7 different kind of saunas.

Spa: 3 nice saunas, 1 steam bath, clean and well-run.

The SPA is huge with a loot of things to do to relax.

Spa is very nice - big heated outdoor pool and big sauna area's.

Rooms and Spa were good and we enjoy them.

Beautiful location, beautiful SPA and indoor and outdoor Swimming pool that are perfect for a summer stay .

I also tried the spa area as well as the outside pool.

The spa and pool area was an excellent way to relax at the end of a busy sightseeing day.

On my birthday, Schloss was surprised me at breakfast time with prosecco and a delicious cake.

But hotel wise the room was perfect bed very comfortable shower and bathroom very good with perfect water pressure shower - breakfast was outstanding and staff very Corteous.

Austrian cooking with locally sourced ingredients.

Breakfast was good as they have made-to-order eggs.

The breakfast is very much complete with eveything you can expect from a hotel of this category - great selection including champagne, smoothies, meats, fish, cheeses, fruits, eggs or waffles.

View at breakfast out over the mountains is amazing.

Breakfast is included and was an extensive buffet, plus eggs or pancakes, (crepe style folded into quarters) or waffles.

The included breakfast was extensive and delicious.

The food is excellent, as much at dinner as at breakfast (which, as often in the Germanic world, is a bit generic).

I had a charming stay with a great breakfast and fantastic views of the alps right from my room window.

Here again they balanced between friendly/family with treating us as honorable guest. The breakfast buffet (cold dishes, bread, yogurt, musli, fruit etc.)

Fantastic getaway, very romantic, great breakfast and very good service.

Everything was delicious, and we ate everything!.

One could easily eat all meals at Schloss Mittersall as the menu is varied, extensive, and delicious.

but since no two are alike, if you have trouble with stairs, I’d call ahead and make sure you get a room that is friendly.

While driving to the hotel,the night we were supposed to stay,we received a phone call telling that our reservation is not valid because of overbooking and after several calls they booked us a hotel in kaprun that we had initially rejected.

The hotel also lacks some basic details which are quite surprising in a four star hotel:

- there are no phones in the room

- the breakfast buffet is in a beautiful dining room

The drawbacks are that there is no phone in the room, so you cannot call the reception or room service.

The outdoor pool is great (but the lights weren’t working when we were there).

Smallish heated pool with a gorgeous view of the valley,  with lots of chaise  lounges on the grass and umbrellas.

Beautiful castle, friendly staff, stunning view, perfect weather for August, 22-27 Celsius during day time, things to do with kids in the close neighborhood, heated swimming pool, SPA, nice food, Nespresso in the room :)

Enjoyed the pool, the view from the deck and hearing the church bells.

We also enjoyed the indoor/outdoor pool and spa area.

We loved the spa and swimming in an outdoor heated pool with such incredible scenery is unbeatable.

Outdoor pool and spa surrounding mountains all relaxed us after skiing.

There is a nice well equipped spa and outdoor pool, as well as a garden sauna with a hidden sunbathing area.

The Spa area is lovely with pool, sauna and steam room.

The pool was well heated and you can enter the pool from the inside and swim to the larger outside pool area.

My boys (ages 3 & 6) loved the indoor/outdoor pool and the nooks and crannies of the castle to explore.

The heated pool was indoor/outdoor with a special glass door in the pool opening on demand which provided entertainment for all ages.

[Great bathrooms ]The pool and spa was enjoyed by all as well as the fabulous chairs in the spa area.

The included spa and pool are very relaxing and the ginseng tea is a nice touch.

For us, apart from enjoying seeing how much everyone else enjoyed it, we enjoyed all of it - the beautiful surroundings, the fabulous interiors (including the Hexenkeller or Witches celler for our pre wedding night drinks, amazing spa & panorama pool with Alpine views), the most amazing food choices & top class wine & beer.

I didn't know about Schloss Mittersill, and just a have seen a road sign and turned there from the dark night road.

The B161 is unfortunately a popular road for bikers in the summer.

Once you reach the end of the road, a small path is leading to the inner side of the castle and the entrance to the reception.

Upon arrival I was so what uncertain whether we would hear road noise; glad to say that from our Mittersill-facing room, we heard nothing at all.

The back roads through the Alps were winding, narrow, and dramatic.

The spa area is very unique with the most comfortable loungers to relax upon and enjoy the beautiful view.

We didn’t have time to try the spa so can’t comment.

a very charming spa area, great food and the location itself has a magical castle atmosphere. it is not the typical wellness hotel with hundreds of rooms and leaves you your privacy :)

The castle is fun to explore, the views are amazing and the spa facilities first rate.

This time we had a chance to visit the spa which was excellent.

The hotel has a SPA with a separate area for people above age of 15 – so families with younger children can feel welcome to the SPA and pool area without disturbing the ones who want a more relaxing time.

Expect to climb stairs as we did to get to our room.

The 600 year old castle can be a bit of a stair master

However if you have problem with stairs, better check with the hotel before booking.

No lifts, so you will have to climb quite a few stairs if you get a room upstairs.

but feel the cold temperature on your face.

Sadly, climate change is already here and we have consistently encountered extended heat waves in areas that traditionally don’t get hot and are not used to high temperatures late in September.

The suite is so amazing, the view from the balcony also spectacular.

The view from our room to the mountains and overlooking Mittersill was picture postcard perfect.

We stayed in the Princess Soraya suite which is located in the very top of the hotel with an incredible view of the Pinzgau valley below.

There is a large private balcony with panoramic views of the valley and surrounding mountains.

The rooms are large, views great - and the staff is wonderful!

The views are stunning as are the unique characteristics of the hotel - battlements, towers, meandering corridors - everything that characterizes a medieval germanic fortress.

The bathroom and shower -- not to mention the veranda -- had great views of the mountains, in part because it is the highest room in the castle.

but greatly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, excellent food, and beautiful views.

The rooms are modern and spacious with expansive Austrian countryside views.

Half way up a mountain, this castle turned hotel offers a unique combination of medieval looks and modern comfort.

Both give amazing views of the mountains.

Great service, fantastic food, impressive Spa area and.

Sauna area and inner pool are exceptional.

The hotel is a 10 minute drive from the nearest ski area and around 35 minutes from Saalbach.

There are free ski buses offered in the area,

And the closeness to the Weisssee glacier area is fabulous - so if you can't get a room on Rudolfshuette, choose this (it might actually be nicer as well, I've never stayed on Rudolfshuette).

Very great customer service, pleasant rooms, great wellness area.

The hotel is situated in a picturesque village w/easy access to many area attractions.

Most convenient way to go to the ski areas would be by car - 15-20 mins.

Free parking, good internet connection, free breakfast, 20 euros dinner with plenty of meals to choose from (without drinks).

Fantastic breakfast with large choice of almost everything.

the breakfast and dinner are exceptional!

The resturant served breakfast and dinner at a high level.

Free breakfast is served from 7:30-10am and includes a full spread of meats, cheeses, fruits, spreads, eggs made to order, fresh juice and champagne.

Breakfast also very rich and has great variety.
