We stayed 3 nights at the hotel and found that the water pressure for shower was poor, the wifi slow -

The room was dimly lit, and the bathroom was damp smelling and a little dirty.

However, the bathroom, semi-open, looks and feels improvised.

but the bathroom was small with only a shower cubicle and a wc curiously perched several feet away from the wall.

Also 2 free bottles of water in the bathrooms.

Breakfast buffet and Dinner a la carte is affordable and a few pleasant surprises.

There is a Qincheng Park opposite the hotel, and 10 mins walk to a mall with H&M and Sephora. 2.

There is also a huge park across the road where you will see line dancing and also dancing with swords and fans.

Convenient location, easy to walk downtown, visit the park, shop, eat.

The location was good for us - right across the street from The People's Park, where we spent several hours, and stores nearby.

Ask for a room on the back of the hotel to avoid street noise.

Rooms were huge and couldn't hear my neighbours, a welcome bonus.

One good thing is that the room was spacious and the room rate is quite cheap (for me).

I had room service food on one night, trained in the gym, all very good and up to the same standards for Holiday Inn anywhere.

I arrived late at night from a delayed flight; the front desk manager went out of his way to help me find food delivery.

Reception were very helpful to us during our two night stay.

The room was a good size with an efficient air conditioning which let the room warm on a cold night.

The lounge atmosphere and food were nice enough (both evening cocktail food and breakfast were tidy and sufficient).

Breakfast was reasonable and had western options,

Yogurt and yogurt drinks with Mongolian dairy products were yummy.

I tasked lamb Bun and other Mongolia food in the breakfast.

Breakfast buffet was very good with many choices.

And the nice mix of Asian and Western dishes on the decent buffet left no wishes open.

Arriving at the hotel we were invited for free drinks and dinner in the Horizon Club, as well as a complementary breakfast the next morning.

I had access to the lounge for breakfast and dinner buffet which was an excellent option for travellers. .

The breakfast spread was good and quality/ taste exceeded expectation.

After getting back one evening, enjoyed a nice Bordeaux wine in the lounge,

I booked the Horizon Lounge, great deal and a city view from the lounge.

This hotel is very beautiful and the executive lounge was excellent. Basically empty, we had the entire floor (and foods!)

This was the only reason I chose to splash out on such an expensive hotel.

but it was pretty expensive (> $20/glass).

It cost around 20 RMB and the quality is really bad and my hair got totally wet underneath.

I would have second thought for the price I paid.

The receptionist, theconceige, the catering people pay attention to you and try to respond to your request as soon as possible.

The problem and the reason my rating is low is because of being charged $330.67 in addition to my room charge and upgrade.

The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is I think it would benefit from an all day casual eating place - there is a very small selection of food available from the lobby lounge area, 

There was some Mongolian traditional food providing and it was nice to try.

We especially enjoyed the breakfast in the buffet restaurant.

The Horizon Club food was good and a nice place to enjoy a cocktail after a long day of sightseeing.

Food is very good and service is provided by well trained staff.

Most of my meals during the 8 days were outside -- which was a good thing.

The Shangri- La is a conventional five star hotel i and has all the mod conveniences, great servie and is relatively central within Huhhot so it it is not too difficult to get around if you, even if you don't have great chines speaking skills..

They welcomed us everytime we visited there.

The staff laughed when they showed me the empty pool, whilst I am stood there with 2 disappointed children.

Thanks to Concierge Mr. Kingsley Guo for very patient with my questions and told me a lot of things in made me easier to get into this culture.

We find the staff at the Concierge are friendly and helpful.. Miss Christina Zhang is an asset to the Hotel.

The staffs are very nice, helpful and well-trained.

Close to main attractions and with the staff help they arrange taxi etc very quick.

The swimmingpool is fantastic, too (you need a bathing cap), and there is always some helpful staff around in case you need something.

All the ladies had great language skills, especially Kristen Gao.

Cannot thank Kristen and her fellow staff enough!

Plenty extremely richly decorated rooms and halls and conference venues - I saw at least dozen of them.

I recommend this hotel especially for the Mongolian decor.

This hotel is beautifully designed, rooms were comfortable, functional with nice touches such as a Chinese glass tea set.

I spent 5 nights in this hotel.Its really huge building.The surrounding is not very nice,but thats the problem of the city.Rooms are large and luxurious fancy in the Mongolan style.

So its a very artistic theme hotel, you will see lots of weird paintings and sculptures, even ancient stuffs as well.

The nearby park is excellent for footing.

I'm usually not going to this hotel level, yet the price of this one is really a bargain comparing to what it offers and how it looks.

Large lobby/foyer with some expensive outlets available.In summary think there is better value elsewhere.

The first 5 times at 2007 was paid by Government because we are VIPs hehehe.

The food is excellent and diverse, service perfect and you really can't imagine anything else. :)
