but the bathroom was small with only a shower cubicle and a wc curiously perched several feet away from the wall.

There is a Qincheng Park opposite the hotel, and 10 mins walk to a mall with H&M and Sephora. 2.

Location was incredibly convenient, over our 3 nights we only needed a taxi once, there was a beautiful park near by, incredible restaurants near by that are open late and you can get an amazing meal for less than $7!

There is also a huge park across the road where you will see line dancing and also dancing with swords and fans.

Convenient location, easy to walk downtown, visit the park, shop, eat.

The location was good for us - right across the street from The People's Park, where we spent several hours, and stores nearby.

Nice living experience with Hohhot Holiday Inn, particularly thanks to Ms. Nanthy Liu for the warm welcome, and her kindness to help to take care of the stay.

The front desk staff are very good especially Ryan Ren.

I'd like to name check Chef Leo Li for his delicious omelettes and fantastic sense of humour.

I had room service food on one night, trained in the gym, all very good and up to the same standards for Holiday Inn anywhere.

The rest of the staff (save for the room keeping staff), have been most helpful,

The service was beautiful, everyone was so kind and helpful and some even spoke good English!

I arrived late at night from a delayed flight; the front desk manager went out of his way to help me find food delivery.

Reception were very helpful to us during our two night stay.

Sizey rooms, excellent staff and is extremely well located.

The staff generously sent us complimentary moon cakes.

but some of them do their very best to be helpful.

The room was a good size with an efficient air conditioning which let the room warm on a cold night.

From concierge to front desk to the cafeteria, all crew were well-mannered, humbled and extremely helpful.

The lounge atmosphere and food were nice enough (both evening cocktail food and breakfast were tidy and sufficient).

Breakfast was reasonable and had western options,

Yogurt and yogurt drinks with Mongolian dairy products were yummy.

I tasked lamb Bun and other Mongolia food in the breakfast.

Breakfast buffet was very good with many choices.

And the nice mix of Asian and Western dishes on the decent buffet left no wishes open.

Arriving at the hotel we were invited for free drinks and dinner in the Horizon Club, as well as a complementary breakfast the next morning.

I had access to the lounge for breakfast and dinner buffet which was an excellent option for travellers. .

I booked the Horizon Lounge, great deal and a city view from the lounge.

This hotel is very beautiful and the executive lounge was excellent. Basically empty, we had the entire floor (and foods!)

This was the only reason I chose to splash out on such an expensive hotel.

but it was pretty expensive (> $20/glass).

It cost around 20 RMB and the quality is really bad and my hair got totally wet underneath.

I would have second thought for the price I paid.

The receptionist, theconceige, the catering people pay attention to you and try to respond to your request as soon as possible.

The problem and the reason my rating is low is because of being charged $330.67 in addition to my room charge and upgrade.

The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is I think it would benefit from an all day casual eating place - there is a very small selection of food available from the lobby lounge area,

We find the staff at the Concierge are friendly and helpful.. Miss Christina Zhang is an asset to the Hotel.

The staffs are very nice, helpful and well-trained.

they always come on time clean our room with passion.they always greet us everytime they see us , always put a smile  on us all the time.

Close to main attractions and with the staff help they arrange taxi etc very quick.

The swimmingpool is fantastic, too (you need a bathing cap), and there is always some helpful staff around in case you need something.

Liked the stir fried broccoli, pan fried cod fish, kale with walnut salad.

Nice food selection for the breakfast buffet.

The biggest issue is with the operations of the breakfast  and dinner buffet.

The rooms have the usual amenities, a great bed to sleep in, a beautiful bath room, the breakfast buffet has all you can wish for and the fitness center is great.

Having to wait an eternity for hot water to arrive is also something I expect in a cheap hostel,

Maybe I could not compare the hotel qualities in China and in overseas ,

but without sufficient pool of qualify managers to preserved Starwood qualities will only compromise Starwood brand values !!!

only issue it disturbed me had been wet area in the gym which even if hotel seems quite new, n.2 jacuzzi tub were out of order and not available with tiles missing in some areas of the wet area like it was used low quality tiles or cheap way to fix them during hotel construction

My point- the first young lady obviously had no clue what standards to follow, and nobody bothered to train her.

This was not the standard I expected from a Sheraton Hotel.

So we put the wine in the bucket and said, we just want to let it chill first.

We really enjoyed the breakfast, so many choices!

They have a North Korean buffet which is rather special- North Korean food and all the waitresses are North Korean girls.

Welcome fruit and yogurt was provided in the room.

The breakfast buffet had a lot of Chinese and Mongolian options, and a few Western options (fried eggs, sausages, beans one morning, bread/pastries).

The breakfast was a vast array of all sorts to choose from, from full cooked breakfast, continental pastries and local mongolian dishes.

Breakfast is excellent, they have both Western and Asian dishes available.

Morning was like having dinner for breakfast, with such a variety of choice (meat, rice, noodles, vegs, etc).

A complimentary fruit and yogurt basket was delivered to my room which made for a nice breakfast.

They voided it, and the processed the transaction through their machine again, which converted the charge into Australian Dollars again!!!

however they were untrained about the fact their machine was converting currencies using DCC by default, and this is unacceptable for a 5 star hotel (indeed, I believe it is unacceptable for any merchant).

but certainly not a 4 or 5 star hotel as advertised, and not very friendly to international travelers.

but it is not a 5 star hotel due to a few deficiencies.

The people in Hohhot are also very kind and friendly, always wanting to help if you need it.

Just for an explanation, their parents are all mid-level people in the NK gov't, and they get the visa for this through that.

I clearly instructed the staff that the payment was to be processed to my Mastercard in Chinese RMB.

We wasted at least 5 minutes talking back and forth with the check-in staff

Most of the staff has a minimum understanding of English,

The staff is English speaking and willing to assist you.

I had never liaised with the staff as the booking and check in-check out was done for me,

but the staff seemed to cope with it fairly well.

There were a lot of large tour groups there, with lots of unruly children, so if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing stay, this might not be a good option.

They provided apples to us after we returned from a tiring day out.

Breakfast was okay from a western and excellent from Chinese perspective.

The nearby park is excellent for footing.

I'm usually not going to this hotel level, yet the price of this one is really a bargain comparing to what it offers and how it looks.

Large lobby/foyer with some expensive outlets available.In summary think there is better value elsewhere.

The first 5 times at 2007 was paid by Government because we are VIPs hehehe.

Even some members of the staff are wearing beautiful traditional clothes while a huge statue of Genghis Khan is dominating entrance hall.

Mr. Tony An who speaks very good English was very friendly and helpful.

The ppl at concierge were very helpful and friendly.

The staff has just a very basic knowledge of English,but they are very nice.
