We were also not given enough towels: for four people we were given two robes and only two big towels.

Shower in the bath was not very practical.

Clearly showers were never fitted originally and have been retrofitted.

though the worst thing though was the shower - the shower was a wand shower mounted a yard/metre above the tub.

This caused a lot of noise during the night when there was a hail and thunder shower.

There were some odd 'special effects' like blue lighting behind the spare toilet paper roll.

When we ran a bath for our son, the water was quite murky and a strange light yellow color.

Like a bathroom with no shower cubicle or curtain - just a shower head on a coil over the bath.

In the Bathroom the shower over the bath was not at full height which made for a few contortions.

We stayed for one night as part of a bike tour and thought the hotel facilities were brilliant.

One of the superb n finest resort ever visited in austria.. we had done a cycling holiday on danube cycle path with 12 of our frnds.

Hotel handyman was able to fix a leaking valve on my hired bike which was a great help

We were very disappointed when we arrived, having admired the hotel frontage as we crossed the Danube with our bikes on the hotel ferry, not to be given a room with a river view,

There was a dry, secure room to leave bicycles.

There are lock-ups for bicycles - The room was great, had a super view over the river .

We biked from Passau along the river right to the front door.

If you're cycling the Danube the hotel is idea, it has a safe garage for housing your bike and a short walk along the river is a campsite, which has a shop that you can purchase provisions.

Good, secure garaging for the bikes and a pleasant terrace to enjoy a beer or two while watching the sun set.

This 4 star hotel-resort on the Danube was booked for us by Radreisefreunde Co. as part of a self-guided bike tour from Passau to Wien.

We had biked all day in a misty drizzle, and really needed a warm shower and good food.

If you are on the south bank the hotel is directly on the bike path.

The bike ways are beautifully laid out and if you want you can bike endlessly.

We were on a bike trip and this is the only hotel in the vicinity.

My husband and I were on a private bike trip along the Danube and spent the night at this hotel.

Breakfast was very extensive and delicious - I'm still thinking about my tasty omelette that was made to order.

The dinner and breakfast buffets were huge.

Great cakes, good evening buffet and good mix and quality of food.

The buffet meals in the evening were very good.

we ate dinner in the hotel food was fine also breakfast next day was good and plentiful with a nice selection,On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff who said that there was a problem regarding my reservation the voucher was for the correct day

Breakfast was excellent (we liked the outdoor terrace).

Nice rooms, set menu as we had half board was ok and the breakfast was very good.

although the buffet looked very comprehensive throughout the day, we opted for a la carte.

2- Call Jimmy Buffet, because his lost salt shaker is in the kitchen.

The food was very good and the breakfast just unbelievable.

The staff were very friendly, breakfast was yum & plentiful.

The lamb was delicious. Free wifi (although did not work in our room)

The breakfast buffet included prosecco and black forest gateau.

Excellent meal in quality of ingredients, care in preparation, and beautiful in presentation.

but the food was fresh and well-prepared, especially the delicious desserts.

However, the design was dated, to apply a modern design to the size of the room could really transform this hotel.

A bit dated and the rooms need renovations badly.

but some slightly weird traces of former style linger in corners and archways.

Old carpet, long confusing layout, chipped and worn down furniture would be some of the negatives.

It is typical of Austria- where 4 star really means three star ( dated holiday inn in my book)

The room was quite 'tired' and in need of being refurbished.

Unfortunately the interior decoration of the bedrooms lets this place down.

Even keeping the balcony door open all night we were too hot.

The twin room I was staying in was very small and essential, hot (no air conditioning) and old.

In the day the room was hot and stuffy with no A/C BUT rest assure: once the sun goes down so does the temperature.

No air con so I wouldn't stay during the hot summer months.

but there is no air conditioned, so it is quite hot.

We swam in the faux Grecian pool which was fun.

Lovely small wellness centre with pool, outdoor deck with sun beds, sauna, steam room etc which was a nice area to relax after cycling.

although the pool decor was a little old fashioned it was clean and we enjoyed lying out in the sun.

The spa / pool was great and the Dining room & food was superb.

We enjoyed the small swimming pool and the sauna.

There is a nice indoor pool and good outdoor seating areas.

The hotel was large, lots of facilities including pool etc.

Add in a pretty good restaurant, a nice swimming pool and clothing optional saunas and steam rooms and you are immediately put into a relaxed healing atmosphere breathing cool, clean air in an immaculately maintained facility.

Bring your swimsuit as there is a nice indoor pool.

There is a spa area with saunas - even squeamish Americans strip down to their towels and thick, hotel-supplied robes - and an indoor pool.

but they have a nice worm pool and a sauna.

The spa is free of charge and includes an indoor pool, wet and dry sauna, and even free tea and beverages.

At about 4 feet deep for most of the pool, it was quite nice!

One other attraction - the hotel has a small health centre with a sauna, steam room and swimming pool.

The hotel has a swimming pool and a number of other relaxing possibilities.

Rooms are good and clean and there is a covered swimmimg pool with termal water.

The room itself was not renovated and old-fashioned.

Other refurbishment to the hotel reception and I assume lounge area of the hotel was going on, that is much needed.

but there is room for improvement.. As others have said it is in need of refurbishment in places.

Rooms are very clean and spacious; the restaurant is very good and the menu varied.

We ate dinner at the hotel 'A la carte' and the food was good.

We only stopped for beer and coffees which were fine

In the end we had a great room with a fantastic view, we had a tasty dinner in the dining room, and walked up the very steep and arduous footpath to the viewing point - the view is definitely worth the effort!

The room was massive and the food was excellent.

The room was very good with a beautiful view of the Danube.

The team was very helpful and accomodating to all requests, the rooms and the  spa area was really nice as well.

We had a lovely room with a terrace that looked out onto the bend and the Danube. The wellness centre was well equipped and new (the relaxation room with fruit and herbal teas was amazing!)

Rooms are a nice size we had a great view of the river which presented an amazing picture next morning wit mist rising from the river.

They are big and plenty of room for two people.

The reports that it is dated are completely right, the rooms are not as tired as I thought they maybe, ours was fine in most respects, large and clean.

Book room with riverview, because it is marvellous.

though the staff serving happy hour and dinner were very friendly and accommodating and dinner was lovely.

Mentioning this to the hotel staff just resulted in a shrugging of shoulders.

They cater to large numbers of people in a friendly and efficient way.

The fare served was traditional, tasty and served with a smile.

Never mind, we enjoyed a relaxed sit and a wait. So next experience with the reception- "no our room does not look over the river so if we pay another 20E it will."

Staff friendly and choice of food was very good.

In an amazing setting right by the river with a lovely huge terrace for drinks and dining.

The location and view were great though, we saw a beautiful sunset, and the terrace on the Donau is fantastic.

As the weather was good, we were eating outside on the riverside terrace, the disappointment here was the amount wasps, they were really bothersome and the hotel should really address this problem and do something about it.

The restaurant has got a huge terrace, where the most woderful view and the best food is served.

Set in a quiet spot on the Danube the restaurant terrace has an unbeatable view.

It  was a pity the Viking cruise ship was sited right in front of the terrace and slightly blighting the view!

Courteous and friendly staff and a lovely view from the terrace.

The setting and the view from the terrace is lovely, lovely, lovely.

We had a deluxe room, with the perfect view from our private terrace area.

Enjoyed a lovely dinner and breakfast on the terrace, with a wonderful view of the river.

On the other hand the restaurant terrace is a great point.

The view is just breathtaking and it's interesting to watch the light change -location-wise, you can't beat it.

Don't miss the hike up the hill behind the hotel for the view point of the Danube.

Great view of the river bend if you face that way.

The views are great, and the wellness center seems to be the draw.

Between the Danube and one of its tributaries, surrounded by tree covered mountains with granite faces sprouting out along the river, this hotel/spa sits on huge lush lawns, each room with river  and mountain views that are breathtaking.

but had a spectacular view of the Danube.

So we agreed to pay and moved into a room with a great view of the Danube.

but the room was huge, also with a greaat river view, and everyting worked.

but did call in to sit by the river and enjoy the view of this amazing bend in the Danube with a lovely cold weissbier.

Cycling the Danube we were picked up at Schlogen by the hotel   Minibus to transport us and our bikes.

We were picked up in Schlogen with bicycles.

The hotel is in a magical town about 8 km from the Donna Trail, and provides a shuttle service from the main road (including bicycles) to the hotel.

We spent a night here during our Danube bicycle tour.

On a bike trip, we stayed here one night.

As other reviews, we stayed here as part of a cycle tour and agree it is a great hotel with very friendly staff and good rooms.

We stayed here while on a cycle trip on the Danube Cycle Path,the food , room and staff where all wonderful.It was an oasis after a day of cycling .The pool was refreshing and the scenery from the balcony looked over the rolling Austrian countryside.I would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel collected us and our bikes from the bottom of the hill (just phone them) to save us riding uphill to them.

Our room was very comfortable and breakfast was delicious - especially the awesome range of breads and freshly cooked omelettes.

The food for dinner and breakfast was also excellent.

They were some very nice tables with fantastic views that were empty and when I inquired if we could move they said no and that this would be our table for breakfast also.

The breakfast instead was extremely good and generous.

The breakfast buffet was large and they roast their own coffee beans - so the coffee was great!

Breakfast was of a similar standard with plenty of choice.

we spent two nights there for our friend's wedding .. it was great - great dinner, big breakfast and good service!

Breakfast was also excellent as was the service provided by all of the staff.

The hotel itself is in a town on the top of hills with beautiful views.

Perfect view over the land from the hill of the hotel.

They pick you up near the ferry at the river and run you up the hill to the hotel.

We were picked up to the hills by the hotel.

The surprise Journey down the hill back to the Danube was a pleasant Journey .

If you are cycling, it is at the top of a steep hill,

The only down side was that the wifi did not work in the rooms - only in the foyer!

although like in many heavy masonry buildings, it doesn't reach many guest rooms, just the reception foyer.

Food choice are wide and tasty, the 5 course dinner a little bit too much.

Very good  and friendly Restaurant services.

Dinner was Weiner schnitzel was parsley potatoes and help yourself salad bar.

The staff was very nice; the atmosphere in the hotel pleasant, the food in the restaurant was excellent.

Later at dinner, he (Sebastian) turned into the best server ever!

The same view was enjoyed when having an excellent dinner on the verandah.

Dinner was delicious, the staff were fun and spoke great English.

Food and service was exceptional, no doubt the highlight of the trip in the food experience department.

The SPA-area, the comfort of the service, the breathtaking view, the familiar atmosphere and the fine food, all together a place worth visiting.

Dinner on the terrace was lovely with a choice for me as a vegetarian too.

Dinner was excellent and taken on the terrace with the wonderful view- we were lucky with the weather that evening.

The view from the hotel isn stunning and the rooms were top class.

The hotel is wonderfully welcoming, with lovely clean and fresh rooms, well decorated and furnished.

The rooms are huge and modernly decorated, and the hotel has a spa with an outdoor and indoor pool.

Our room decor was very modern and inviting with an incredible view out across the valley from the panoramic windows.

But we didn't booked the hotel to stay in the room, so it was ok. :)
We will surely go there again!

The room was delightful, with a balcony and well appointed.

Our room was large and nicely decorated, the bathroom was excellent and had a separate toilet.

Our room was gorgeous with a little balcony out the front.

In fact, the guest rooms and even the bed heads had concealed and subdued lighting - all very relaxing.

I especially liked that the rooms were sectioned off in 3 and 4 rooms to a section so to minimize being disturbed from other guests.

It is a pity that for us non smokers there is an all pervasive smell of smoke through the hotel.

In fact the smell of tobacco smoke pervaded the whole hotel, even the non-smoking aeas

We were picked up, bikes and all, 8kilometres away as it was a nasty uphill climb from our cycling finish point for the day.

We found this to be a little odd being from Australia where smokers are in the minority.

The receptionist, Magdalena, was so welcoming and helpful.

Friendly staff, parking at the hotel for free.

I asked the reception if we could change to a more suitable room..

Friendly and helpful staff made the stay most pleasant - would thoroughly recommend.
