The bathroom was old, probably was as clean as it could have been

Only later when I got up to walk to the bathroom that I noticed that the rug under the desk and into the room was very wet.

Poor service, no toiletries provided upfront unless you asked for every single item.

The first issue upon minutes if our arrival the drain was clogged after I rinsed my daughter's feet ( from being barefoot on carpet GROSS it felt like it had years of layers of dirt baked on) front desk got someone to come within 15 mins he basically cleaned out clump hair that was stuck!

The carpet was stained and bathroom looking really tired.

Only wierd thing was the sink was in the main room not the bathroom.

Also, that door required a LOT of pressure to get it to latch.

Our room smelled musty, and we quickly discovered a huge wet spot on the floor by the sink.

The layout has the sink outside the bathroom with no towel access without going back into the toilet area to dry hands.

I walked in and paid $184 for a two bedroom suite aka a dump coming from 1960s with perfectly creaking floors, stinky carpets and run down washroom.

but the bathroom was odd, as the shower and toilet were in the bathroom - but the sink was in the main room.

The room was small with a postage stamp size bath room.

but the shower drained very slowly and the bathroom counter was small.

For the price I expected much better amenities.

but the main one would be the tiny bathrooms (and when I say tiny I mean TINY).

Walking, running the shower, toilet, tv, everything!

We could hear our neighbours open/close the door, flush the toilet and use the shower etc.

The floors creaked, I kept my sandals on as the carpet looked a bit grungy, the fan in the bathroom was rusted and howled when turned on and the plumbing needs a good snaking as everything was slow to drain!

The layout of the room is also a bit weird and cramped washroom.

What can I say, no mention anywhere in website that there is no elevator, tiny little staircases so if you have a family I’d avoid at all costs.

The hotel has no elevators and you need to carry the luggage upstairs, that would be OK in the old days.

Check in was easy, one thing to note is there is no elevator.

I cannot remember the last time I stayed in a hotel that lacked an elevator!

It is an converted older building with no elevators, and long thin winding hallways.

There was no lift so we had to lug our bags up to the 1st (2nd floor if from the US) floor.

The hotel has no elevator (granted it has only two floors).

This room was situated next door to guest laundry and beside stairs with outdoor exit (no elevator).

Beware though, this is a two story hotel and there is no elevator!

When the front desk my mother had difficulty to climb stairs ( there's no elevator in this hotel), they changed my room to the first floor.

This is a very basic, older Holiday Inn with a poor restaurant/ lounge, no elevator and tired rooms.

There is no elevator there and we were staying in the 1st floor

but I was surprised that there was no elevator so my husband had to carry our luggage up the stairs.

No elevator, so book a ground floor level if your not up to stairs.

However when I realized there was no elevator, & they saw I use a cane, the staff changed us from a 2nd floor to room 119.

Ok, what hotel does not have an elevator?

Room was clean, staff friendly and helpful, we opted for the included breakfast, well worth the price,  The.

The staff was friendly and let me park my motorcycle near the entrance.

All staff are super friendly especially to all the Filipinos staff.

The Front office/Reception Manager was a really great and friendly guy to whom we all took a liking immediately.

Good choice for breakfast served by friendly an efficient staff.

Old, smelly, very dated hotel with squeaky floors and a terrible breakfast.

The hotel is surrounded by construction upgrading the towns drainage system So very noisy and dusty.

Just picture a typical old musty inn somewhere along any North American highway with small rooms and beige everything, you will get something not far away from this place.

For all we know there could have been mould, mildew, fungus etc in this flooded rug.

There was a smell in the hotel that was so bad that I wanted to move out.

Security is an issue - 2 men were in the hottub with a speaker system smoking pot and were clearly not staying at the hotel.

We never really got a clear view of Hinton because of the smoke from forest fires.

There was a terrible smell ( like clogged sewer) as we walked to our room.

Also the Japanese tourists were going in and out the door steady to smoke and every time they did, the door slammed.

The hotel in general smells musty and the furnishings are a bit tired

but it looked small but enough to burn some calories.

I had read many reviews of the smell in the hotel.

but we both thought it had a funky smell.

however as you walk to your room you are overwhelmed by an awful smell which was there although our stay - it just smelt of sxxt.

Good service at the reception is not good enough to enjoy a stay if the rooms are bad.

Helpful staff switched us to 1st floor when finding we had heavy luggage.

Clearly they are this hotel's best asset!

If you are a guy who is interested in archeology, you may find it is worth to stay for a night.

but they do offer someone to help with bags later, the young chap I saw doing this was topless which is unusual uniform in a hotel.

When we were making our way downstairs to go check out, the cleaning staff had a basket of towels on the steps of the stairs, and was right there,

Plus the gentleman at check in reminded me off all my perks being a member.

Coming in everyday the staff learned my name and engaged me daily.

slipped under my door with all the active staff's signatures.

As a saving grace, the front desk was professional.

The air conditioner in our room would only run for 10 minutes and shut off.

The airconditioning in the corridors is set on such a low temperature that it is like walking in a fridge.

I sleep with the room fan on low and heard no noise.

It felt really odd walking past it as it blew on your head.

Cons - thermostat didn't work will and the room was quite hot, pool was cold.

Hot tub was broken and the pool was freezing so the kids were disappointed.

we had a view of a wall and an industrial unit.

The 'low' fan just seems really, really high.

but make sure the room you get is not near the make up air unit.

You'll have to call the front desk to ask them to configure the unit in continuos ventilation mode or.

However, in the middle of the night on both nights, the A/C unit on "fan" would shut off for no reason, causing the room to get very warm (on a cool night) and waking me up.

My only comment was the heating fan ran all night - our only choice would have been to shut it off completely.

I've stayed in a lot of rooms where it was either scorching, or freezing - it's no good when you're too hot or cold.

Holiday inn Express obviously understands that having an accessible room is not just installing a grab bar.

That same morning there was a funky smell coming from the HVAC that could be described as well used hockey gear.

The only thing I could complain about is that the AC was noisy and the room door was not sound proof.

Check-in team were great and very friendly.

Perfect hotel, the staff at the front desk are friendly and helpful.

Our room was very clean, had all working equipment, the staff was very friendly and attentive, the breakfast had hot food and plenty of it.

After a very long ride from Medicine Hat to Hinton, it was nice to arrive at a friendly, clean and inviting hotel.

Very accommodating with any request, breakfast was very good and the staff were very friendly.

They was an odor in the hallways that was like wet clothes smell.

One thing that really messed our stay was the noise which was coming from the corridors and from the room above us.

We also encountered cleaning staff in the hallways every day with their masks off around their chins, at a time when a provincial mask mandate was in place.

We used a family room in the basement and found the hallways there to be quite cold.

however the noise  coming from the hallway and room above ruined any chance of a peaceful stay.

We experienced a constant turmoil in the hallways and in the lobby that while not really bothersome was at least a little disquieting.

The room we were put in was located at the end of the hallway on the main floor..there was mud all over the hallway floors and garbage was overflowing from the garbage bin by the door..I suspect it was because of all the oilfield workers staying there

The halls can be a bit loud thanks to shift change with the oil field guys

Between the howling dog and the loud men who were presumably practicing their bowling skills in the hallway at 2 am to the loud banging, shouting and cursing across the hall for someone wake the **** up and open the door at 5am I barely slept.

We could hear everyone talking as they passed in the hallway.

The hallway to get to the room from the elevator in the basement was extremely loud from the noise of all the hotel systems.

I was disappointed with the mud all over the parking lot from guests' vehicles, and the dirt that was tracked into the lobby, hallways, elevator, etc, and wasn't cleaned up.

So the place was near full, and you could hear people in the hallway, and people walking in the room above us.

The hotel was very accommodating in changing our reservation to one night.

Breakfast and the lady who serve breakfast went above beyond to serve us and other customers.

The hotel and staff were terrific and exceeded all expectations.

Couldn't  ask for better front desk and management.

Quite a few times there was no-one at the desk.

Staff was excellent from the moment I entered to departure.

However, with staff running things in such a clandestine manner, one leaves the hotel feeling slighted at best.

One of the receptionists was outstanding.

We are grateful to the GM, Mr.Shubham, who was very kind and had a very charming personality.

We were greeted by a sweet girl who helped us with providing a Map (never thought) and advising things to do in Jasper.

Even after arriving with only 20 minutes left for breakfast, we were pleasantly surprised with the excellent variety, the full trays of hot food, delightful presentation and smiling staff.

My truck was robbed directly outside the front doors, right under the cameras in just a span of a few hours.

We Stayed for 2 days , we were put in room no 412 ( queen Suite ) 
But the door was broken we have to lift the door for closing , The Smell in the room was untolerable , 
Breakfast was bad , we repent staying there

Noisy though, could hear everything from hallways and rooms next door.

We may stay again as overall it was not bad experience other than breakfast and some room door lock issue.

The doors slam very hard and both nights, I was jolted awake multiple times.

We got to our room and couldn't open the door at first assuming our key was still attached to the 302 room.. that was fine just a quick switch she fixed our card and we were able to get in.

Also when asking for a late check-out because it takes alot of time getting my daughter out the door, the lady at the front desk was quite rude!

Come the morning to check out  ( 11AM) housekeeping knocks on my door at 9, seriously?

Our door didn't lock, as we found out later that night, so everybody could have walked in and out for a whole day.

This Ramada is old and dingy; beds were pretty bad and the bathroom was so tiny you couldn't get to the toilet without closing the door.

15 minutes later, I was woken up by a knock on my hotel room door.

They must have misread the room numbers or something on their itinerary, because we were disturbed 3 times over the course of our first night and the following morning with people knocking on our door and even jiggling the handle.

Doors shut at 10 am on the dot as stated, if you came in at 9-55 you were unable to access the kitchen area where toast, waffles, cooked breakfast etc was situated surely if you were in the breakfast room before 10am you should be entitled to access the food,staff were miserable and unfriendly I would not recommend this hotel to my worse enemy.

And after getting in the room eventually,  we were wakened up by someone knocking on the door heavily and even did not wait for me to open the door for him.

The doors are very flimsy so when people waited for the elevator it was like they were in the room.

Bathroom was tiny and the floor was warped so the bathroom door would not open all the way as it caught on the floor.

- The toilet and its proximity to the door is awkward - see photo.

Not to mention the paper thin room doors that allowed every noise in the hallway to enter my room quite unopposed.

It sounded like people were in our room, the walls and doors were so thin.

Every time I smelled it, it seemed that's when the quests next door used bathroom.

Friendly staff, comfortable and clean rooms; good breakfast.

i had a very hard time falling asleep as my neck kept pinching with pain (just something to keep in mind)

staff were all friendly, and i made a request to stay at the back side top floor of the hotel which they were able to honor for me so i had a great view. breakfast was included, it was good

The Front staff  were always friendly and accommodating.

Everyone from the front desk to the breakfast room to the housekeeping were always helpful and friendly.

Rooms and beds need refurbishing, noise level from other rooms made sleeping difficult.

The wall are paper thin, every time someone got up to use the washroom above and below us you could hear.

The room was very noisy both above us and up and down the hallway.

Breakfast is ho hum and no fruit choices.

Non courteous staff , limited staff and surprise to hear from then that they get bread in a packing without mentioning contain which shud be a crime in a country like Canada, if they follow health rule

The noise does travel very easily between  between floors and rooms.

We could hear conversations in other rooms.

The walls are thin so you can hear every step in the hotel and conversations from other rooms.

Our room was near the elevator and we found the constant dinging of the elevator noisy at night.

I only gave it 4 as the sofa bed I slept on was noisy every time I turned over.

but without it, the noise could have become a problem.

Internet was slow, noisy barking pets at night and early in morning, vehicles parked out window had headlights light up our room like daylight

I finally said I would call daily until I hear back

Had a few issues with some pet noise and room amenities.

You could hear other guests in the hallway very easily

Our first night was an absolute nightmare, we could hear the two people upstairs talking and their child’s every footfall.

The main issue we had was noise we could hear everything from the room across from us and the room above us!!

The jets were not functioning on the hot tub

It has very good room service, the front dest gentlemen are very helpful and always willing to provide any assistance.

Staff at front desk was courteous and helpful when reported an issue with the toilet.

Try to get a room farthest  away from the front desk.

It was a family vacation and even after informing the staff about my son allergies they didn’t bothered and gave us unclean room.

Perfect, clean and extremely wonderful staff 
Breakfast was great and a good selection 
This is the second time I have stayed at this Hotel and will turn into my regular spot when hitting the mountains going forward

Location is perfect right next to Mall and grocery store check-in was easy rooms were exceptionally clean and spacious the continental breakfast was served by a very polite and friendlyStaff member I would definitely stay there again

All of the staff were incredible.

The cleaning staff were promptly there taking care of the mess and smell.

even though their staff the night before confirmed the rooms.

The staff cleaned the rooms so well and the beds always felt fresh and comfortable.
