I'm not a big fan of these breakfast experiences

The room was really bad with no ac and really bad internet.

The only complaint about the room was the a/c was sort of loud.

First of all, I absolutely loved this hotel, my most recent stay last Thursday was a different story, the floor around the air conditioner was wet and smelled awful, the bathroom counter had a sticky substance on it, the pool was colder than usual, the channels on the tv kept going out randomly, and it was super hard to sleep due to noise and doors slamming constantly, now I could have delt with that alone,

(We have been in lots of hotels that seem to damper the A/C during the night.)

The bed in my room was lumpy and the air conditioner was noisy at times.

Rooms still have the cold to hot settings on the HVAC.

The Hampton Inn & Suites Hazard is near these landmarks: Beyond Clothes, Bobby Davis Museum, Buckhorn Lake, Appalachian Horse Project, Panbowl Lake, First Baptist Church and The Mother Goose

Plenty of nice soft towels and wash clothes big fluffy comfortable comforter was amazing slept great on the comfy bed and pillows.

We had to stay in Hazard overnight due to a doctors appointment early the next morning.

Though a hot breakfast is served, we very seldom partake due to a restricted diet.

Rates were high for quality of the room and had poor quality of sleep due to no air conditioner in the summer.

We got "stuck" in Hazard due to an accident which blocked the road leading to our destination.

We had to stay in Hazard longer than expected due to the inclement weather.

The Hampton Inn and suites in Hazard was a great place.

We will definitely be staying at Hampton Inn & Suites in Hazard, KY again!

Hampton in Hazard Ky is the most Amazing place to stay, everyone makes you fill as family and at home.

The late night drive from Jackson to Hazard was a little adventurous .

The only thing that kept me from giving a 5th star is that the comforter on the bed had a faint odor of cigarette smoke- indicating someone had broken the rules and smoked in this non-smoking room (and the comforter wasn't aired and/or cleaned properly).

Our rooms NEVER smelled, Noise from the Halls and other rooms NEVER bothered us.

We reserved a non-smoking room and did not get one.

When I arrived, only smoking rooms were available.

There are some smoking rooms in the hotel, which I hate the smell of cigarettes,

if all non smoking rooms are taken, they automatically put you in a smoking room with no warning.

Bed was hard and uncomfortable, WiFi very slow, digital checking was useless (staff did same things all over again upon arrival), and complimentary breakfast was sort of gross.

Only problem then internet speed was slightly slow

Breakfast was also really good and there's many things to choose from.However the main issue I experience and the reason I was not able to rate this establishment with five stars is because their internet was very slow in the rooms for many days.

they don't have good internet that it is slow or sometimes there is no connection.

but the only problem with the wifi is that it is fairly slow especially in the rooms.

Word to the wise, do not stay at this hotel unless you want extra roommates (fleas) and a rash within hours of checking in!

Room carpet was filthy and everything was dusty and un-kept when we arrived.

When I checked out they charged a $17 higher rate.

Sally was rude with the manager on the phone while the manager was trying to check in a guest, who does that?

Upon arrival, we we told the room was not available and were placed in a room which was nonsmoking with one bed.

We had to beg for towels on our first night; other family with reservations arrived after the posted check-in time of 2:00 PM

Upon checking in I was sent to a room that was already occupied.

Anyways we got our daughter and grandchildren a room there at the super 8 Hazard and within a couple hours she was calling us crying and hysterical saying there were bed bugs on the baby she pulled the sheet back and saw 3 of them my husband immediately went there and they were at the check in desk the woman apologized and said she would give her another room the woman was not suprised about the bed bugs at all.

I had called 2 days in advance explaining I was coming from 6hours away for a family funeral due to work, I wouldn't be able to make the check in time till 1:30 or 2 a.m. and please note it so I wouldn't loose my room, I arrived at 2a.m.

The woman checking me in had no customer service skills.

My husband is an occasional smoker, so at check in I chose a smoking room.

Couldn't check in until nearly 4:00pm, and housekeepers had an attitude even then.

As we checked out the next morning, my husband wanted to speak to a manager.

Third when I walked to check in, the person at the front desk was on the phone having a personal conversation, I know because I could hear every word.

When I checked out I got a receipt and I was supposed to have a discount from my place of work - surprise it's not there!

Checked out shortly after arriving and went elsewhere.

I told front desk they just said .That the house keeper thought it was a tip ,second time my girl friend forgot her coat after we checked out .She called the clerk they found her coat

The stairway was filthy and so was the carpet down the hall, the room stunk and had it not been 2am and we wasn't so exhausted and the motel up the road had a room we would've left, very disappointed, the WiFi signal was awful as we needed for directions to the funeral home, the staff's appearance was trashy as well, I've never filled out a review and hate that it's negative again after a long drive and a family death, this was too much

I guess the melting snow from the sidewalk that had not been cleared off found it's way under the door and the carpet was wet.

The carpets desperately needed cleaning, and we would not let our five year old granddaughter play on the floor.

The carpet was so dirty I wouldn't walk anywhere without shoes on.

Walls and carpet colors were poorly chosen in room as they showed every scrap  of dirt, dog hair and wear.

If they ever decide to shampoo/replace the carpets and give the rooms a complete makeover (starting with functioning locks) and then maintain them from the start this would be a nice little hotel for the price.

The carpet in the common areas need to be cleaned or replaced.

Hallways were disgusting, smelled musty and obviously haven't been cleaned in a very, very long time.

I would check around for a cleaner more honest place if I was you.

It was obvious that when it came to cleaning its just a quick once over.

However, it should have been much cleaner, especially in the stairwells and common areas.

We stayed two nights, no housekeeping was provided on between check in and check out, and we had to go to the front desk to get fresh towels.

And once the staff cleaned up the dead roach from our room, we saw no other sign of bugs.

but they need to keep close eye on that house keeper.

The front desk ensured him he would be receiving a full refund.

She said she talked to the owners & they told her not to refund our money.

When I made My Reservations they told me one price.

Needless to say she refunded our money and we got them a room at the holiday Inn with us.

but she managed to find a handicap room that was available but it was only a queen bed not the king I had reserved.

Had 2 rooms reserved, and one of the showers wouldn't work.

Had we booked with them directly it would have saved us $20.

but because we booked it online she couldn't.

I now know why when I called for a reservation the first time no one answered.

She never brought up the wifi issue, and told me I didn't get a discount because i reserved online and some nonsense about how im supposed to pay for the room, then my employer's credit card gets charged, then it comes back and i get the discount.

We are very happy with the comfort and cleanliness of our room.

Once inside the room it was very clean and very well put together.

Me and my husband stay at this hotel and loved it the room was clean and staff was very friendly breakfast was great and there pet friendly so yes I could see myself coming back really soon

We had a non-smoking room as we don't smoke

They kept our $100 deposit because “they” said they smelled smoke in the room.

My daughter has allergies and I asked for a non smoking room and they gave me one that smelt like smoke.

but I found it was previously used as smoking room.

She said it was the only non-smoking room left and that she was sure it was a King size bed.

I could understand charging this much if the facility was kept up and maintained,

No please don't try to remove the pipe yourself, you will be charged for damages.

A week after we had all returned home, I found that my credit card had been billed for an additional two rooms for the first night of our stay.

I was charged extra for standard house keeping.

However, I was told that she (no name tag thus no name) could not give me credit for a full night’s lodging.

I’m planning on buying property here in Hazard, which means I’ll be spending more nights here in hotels,

Sooooooo glad they built a Holiday Inn Express in Hazard.

For Hazard it was a nice place and it wasn't bad to stay in and as with any place it has its good and bad things which I will list below.

Gym is only a treadmill 😩 if you are in Hazard this is a good place to stay.

We were quite satisfied with our stay and would definitely stay again when in Hazard.

If you are traveling to Hazard this is the place to stay!

We have been at the Holiday in Hazard Several times we will stay there everywere time we are in the area.

I traveled to Hazard to work with the great teachers there!

A group of 5 came up to Hazard from Mission of Hope in Knoxville to give away items to some needy in the area.

With not many options in Hazard, this is a great option.

This hotel and the Hazard Hampton Inn are the only nice places to stay in town.

Stopped in at the HIE in Hazard for a stay while visiting in Eastern KY.

This is the place I will be staying everytime I am in Hazard.

If you stay get the top floor or all you'll hear is the people above you walking around.

Not very soundproof rooms, you could hear people in the hallway.

CONS:
You can hear every foot step from the rooms above and next to you, request a top floor room!

It is off the road so there is no traffic noise.

I called the desk twice and the noise finally stopped around 4 - 4:14 am.

I could hear all the noise in the hallway.

but heard zero noise throughout the night.

That is,  until MY corporate ofc contacted IHS (Holiday Inn's Corp) about the constant fire alarms.

There was also another woman complaining about the noise level on the second floor as well and she also was given a $45.00 credit on her account.

The hotel was clean and the room comfortable .

Plus there was a large group of people, that obviously were not guests, partying all night at the pool.

This hotel does not have indoor corridors, we were on the back side and there was an outdoor party with loud talking and people milling around and drinking just outside my door till 1 am.

There was a party of line workers outside our door who were fairly loud when we were outside.

The room was clean except for the big stain in the carper in front of the door,

After having booked at a competitor and finding out that it was LESS than stayable,  The Quality INN took us in (3 rooms) we have never been so appreciative of a clean room and bed..IF we find ourselves back in Hazard we will definitely book here again.

I will say the rooms are clean (but outdated) and the hotel clerk is very nice.

The beds are great, and the rooms are clean.

The room was always clean and well kept, beddings and bathroom essentials were replaced everyday.

The free breakfast is decent, they have a pool, the rooms are very clean, and the beds are comfortable.
