Secondly the Airconditioning was not available which we argued with Managment to let it switched On.

but the AC unit wreaked of cigarette smoke when we turned it on.

We found the room to be very hot and the a/c is controlled centrally.

We did find the room to be quite hot, and we were offered a portable AC unit to remedy this, which seemed strange

I was slightly reluctant when I first made my booking, mainly because I am not huge fan to big hotel chains.

(it's near winter and most of the hotels and malls have switched their function of the air-con to only fan blower instead of having cold air too).

They have the heating on at present, and lowering the thermostat does not cool the room.

but still not in the mess in Hangzhou traffic
The services are excellent, top class accessories and in room services, including wifi 
Only issue a noisy air conditioning, but the beauty of the lake landscape  is worth a little pain!

and please think of installing Nespresso coffee machines in the rooms.

Firstly, the room smells, a very typical china air conditioning smell, old musty.

cons:
There is no air condition on the rooms, ask staff for a fan if the room is to hot.

but staff informed me that I could of asked for a fan

however had I complained about it, they would have installed a portable air conditioner.

Only the concern is the aircondition of the hotel.

They even changed our covers to cooler covers and lowered the room heating when we told them we prefer to sleep cool.

and above all super attentive and friendly staff.

Anyone - from the front desk to the waiters and cooks as well as the cleaning ladies - were friendly, professional, and attentive.

The highlight is certainly the service at the front desk, where Ada served us and was very friendly.

Steven and Jason are very friendly and helpful.

At check in was greeted by friendly, very helpful and efficient front desk staff.

The hotel staff were super friendly and helped me out a lot to find my way around Hangzhou.

Staff are friendly, attentive and very helpful to your every need.

The front desk and concierge team are efficient and friendly.

but the associates are friendly specially Badr who was attentive to every detail and he was always ready to help.

Mahdi he was super friendly and professional  person on duty.

The good location (just a 3 min walk from West Lake) , excellent equipped rooms, a friendly and helpful consierge and an attentive guest relationship manager are definitely worth highlighting.

Then there was Charles with his friendly smile ready to give suggestions where to go and helping us calling didi (China’s uber) car and even accompanied us to the car.

Other than the initial checked in hiccup the staff was really helpful and friendly.

Fundamentally, their conceirge is very friendly and professional.

Any special request can be arranged by the helpful  friendly Arab staff  “Sara” and “Mahdi”

The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere around the hotel was great.

However the location is good that the hotel is just next to the West Lake and malls.

The hotel is nicely located close by one of the city’s greatest landmarks, the Westlake, which you can reach from there in an only 3 Minute walk.

Hotel is located about 5-10 minutes walk from Fengqi Road Metro Station Exit F and another 5-10 minutes walk from West Lake.

The location is perfect, just next to West Lake and broken bridge and Night Market.

The location next to West Lake was perfect for us, and one of the reasons we chose that hotel too.

There's plenty of food choices nearby, including a small night market.

Wyndham Grand Plaza Royale Hangzhou is a really nice hotel, just 5 mins walk to the west lake, very close to the night market and metro is also nearby.

The hotel is located close to a restaurant area and next to the night market where you can sit with the locals.

The location of the hotel is ideal for exploring the west lake and at night there is a night market 1 block over.

Overall very good location, just across Westlake with a night market at the back.

The hotel is also near to the Westlake and broken bridge, I recommend everyone specially to go during the sunset, there is also an small night market offering some street food and Chinese souvenirs, few western bars are also nearby.

Also close to Wulin night market, so snacking food options are always available.

Excellent hotel with indoors swimming and rich breakfast, the staff gave us an early Check-in after our long trip, it is worth for what you pay, the location is right next to the lake and nearby there is every evening a Night Market where you can buy local products.

Especially their guest relations manager Eva is just amazing.

Eva from Guest Relations happily gave us a late check out as well as recommendations of cafés to visit to enjoy Hangzhou before going back home.

We stayed at the Hotel as a family with a kid and Badr from the guest relations was very attentive to our needs and helped us get confortable and enjoy our stay at the hotel.

But during my last night we met Badr the Guest Relation Manager and we gave him our feedback, with his small gestures and kindness he was able to made up our stay which will definitely let us reconsider the hotel for our upcoming visit.

and I would like to thank the guest relation manager Mr. Mahdi to help me through this journey.

Staff at reception was very polite and helpful, and Yuki Gong, the Guest Relations Manager, spent time to help me to make a query as to why my local SIM card did not work.

The employees are very helpful and from different countries.the guest relations officer  named Sara was very helpful to us investing a lot of energy in orienting us to many beautiful sites in hangzhou.

Our stay was actually in April 2016 and what really stood out for us from staying in a few hotels in China was the international guest relations team.

You can have what you expect from a top 5 start hotel, except for restaurant.

A few minute walk away from the hotel is the Kerry Center with an attached mall hosting lots of shops, restaurants, and a supermarket.

She knows all the good places to enjoy a good meal or a drink, a must have!

Eva was very nice to me, she took the time to answer my questions about the hotel and even recommended a restaurant.

We also got help from Vivian and Blake who helped us call a taxi to a restaurant and also took care of our baggage.

Room is excellent, spacious and very comfortable with big bathroom.Lobby lounge Cafe serve good selection tea.

Special shout-out to Yuki and Ada for upgrading our room as well as for some complimentary desserts.

Even their Chinese and Thai restaurants are of high standard.

Two restaurants, a western buffet with a quality grill, the other a traditional Chinese restaurant whose dishes are simple

We opted to forgo hotel breakfast (Y188 per person) and instead found buns and noodles at a local joint for much cheaper.

Very large and clean room   Room service breakfast was good.

The room was clean and nicely made, and the Thai restaurant inside is quite good.

There’s also a market/food street near the hotel for you to check out some local food.

but the rooms which don’t might have the huge balcony are pretty dar.

Rooms are tidy, the breakfast has lots of Chinese and Western choices and they have a well equipped gym.

The rooms are well decorated and all the necessities are provided.

The room was great, prefect, clean, big bathroom, comfy bed, all your requirements, they fufill.

The room was super comfortable and stylishly decorated.

Room came with a balcony that faces the mountain which have a fantastic view.

I want to thank Anita Araujo (Guest Services Supervisor), and Anastasia Karpich (intern), for their energy, help, and intelligence!

I stayed at his hotel about for or five years ago and was genuinely impressed with both room and the service.

Service was good and staff speak English.

The hotel facilities were convenient, the service outstanding starting from Ms Anita Araujo who provided exceptional  assistance since we arrive to the hotel until we left.

There was also a kind of strange odor in the room.

It does smell like smoke which bothered me.

If you have aversion to cigarette smoke be warned, this hotel does not favor your preference.

The only down side of this hotel was the room was a little musty.

but there was a latent smell of smoke throughout which was off-putting.

As I walked in I smelled some cigarettes from the room.

The bread was a little stale my first morning, cheese was going a little hard, some of the cuts of meats I had in the evening were chewy, the omelettes needed seasoning, the Chinese options at the buffet were not great in flavour and a lot of it comes from pre-packaged supermarket stuff – you could see the plastic packaging for the fried dumplings – not something I’d expect from a 5 star hotel.

Overall the hotel was fab - they have a smoking issue like many hotels in China i guess so rooms can smell of cigarettes

On my second stay the room did not smell of smoke

To me the decor seemed rather heavy and state leader-ish, and nobody asked me if I wanted a non-smoking room or not,

Room smelled a bit stale, housekeeping came with air freshener within 5 minutes (at 1am) and fixed it right up.

however there were other events being held and people were smoking and making loud noises at the open area (sitting area and tea breaks).

Anyway the room had no smoke smell what so ever.

But she was able to assist and answer all the questions I had.

Good staff and special thanks to Eva for all of her recommandations.

On our first visit, a four-night stay, we had a great experience and were also able to communicate with the staff who were fluent in English.

Particular thanks and appreciation to Eva, at the reception, who went out of her way to address all our queries and to make our stay more pleasant.

but they were kind enough to help without complaining.

The Executive Lounge  provide Exquisite desserts, drinks and coffee.

Spent few days with them in the Executive Lounge.

Executive lounge has a great view, yet afternoon tea the same two days in a row.

We are also invited to the executive lounge on the 26th floor.

Ms. Alissa, the most personable, most charming, and most efficient Executive Lounge Manager, continued to give us royal treatment in the lounge and continued to make us feel like we were the most important guests.

Took a pit stop to the executive lounge, barely made the happy hour at 9:30pm (too early, recommend 10:00 or 10:30).

The executive lounge has good afternoon tea, snacks, and dinner.

Service staff at Executive Lounge is good.

The service at the executive lounge was also impeccable!

I booked the executive lounge access this time and it was worth it.

The executive lounge is nice with many choices and excellent service.

The executive lounge on the 26 floor is a nice place for happy hour and the view at night is beautiful.

Regarding the lounge, located on the top floor, i wish, the management wouldn’t sale access in the room rate, it gets quite packed.

2) Very polite and warm services were provided in Executive Club Lounge, such as: personal favorite breakfast preparation and special cocktails offering during happy hour time by Clara.

The executive lounge had great food and beverage options, and excellent service.

The employees in the hotel are nice, l’d like to especially thank Alissa and Monica from the Lounge, they prepared the gift cards and special wine for our wedding anniversary.

Other than the fact that the location is closer to Hangzhou east station and west lake, I find the food offered at the lounge is somewhat better than other jw Marriott.

She made sure that we were well taken care of by her staff and by herself in the lounge.

From check-in to check-out, the staff lounge partners at the front desk were very professional and attentive: Alisa at the lounge, Derek, Miki, Maggie at the front desk, and, sorry, I can't remember all the others' names.

Front desk, Housekeeping, lounge staffs, all make extra effort to make you feel like home.

A special thanks to Mrs Alissa of lounge club who has really taken care of me.

And the manager of the lounge--Alissa--always made sure that the lounge was running smoothly.

The staff make all the difference, especially Cissie in the Lounge, the front desk staff and the team who are always such a help with taxis.

Unlike some other Marriott properties in China (notably Beijing), Alissa handled our check out easily and professionally in the lounge.

What made my stay especially nice was Ms. Summer Zhu and her Executive Lounge staff.

Hotel staff is great and lounge is as good as you will find in a Marriott in China.

The staff in the lounge are excellent, especially the manager Summer who seems to always remember every guests name and make each guest feel like they are being welcomed back home every time they walk in.

The Exec lounge supervisor is Summer, and she went way beyond normal service to help with directions, city ideas, restaurants and more.
