A drawback was poor/very poor internet connection.

however the evening buffet is very poor with he same slop served every evening and the staff were incredibly rude ( there was one lady at breakfast who was vey nice) they aren't geared for international travellers and we were treated like an inconvience.

but we found that the pillows were poor as they were lumpy and yet too soft.

The room was very clean and quiet with a nice sunny terrace overlooking the garden.

Higly recommended, very helpful staff, clean rooms, very comfortable excellent breakfast' a lot of parking free of charge and the location at a quiet place outside the old town.

but the meats were always really varied and cooked well,breakfast was also very good with a wide variety and choice,rooms were clean,and everyone seemed to have a balcony,its about 20-to 25 minutes to walk into the town,the train station is the first thing you get to and  the town of Goslar is fantastic really historic and the markets lovely,I would have liked more time there to explore the surroundings.

Only negative was that the "special coffee" machine was slow and there could sometimes be a small line.

And the replenishment of the food was extremely slow, mainly because the hotel was understaffed.

The bathroom was very small considering the size of the room.

though a little small and the shower in the room was a little awkward to get in and out of due to the height of the shower base.

the bathroom was tiny and very old fashion.

but please throw your coffee vending machines in the skip, the coffee from them is disgusting, as where the coffee pots .

The reception is tired and needs updating.Lift interesting.Room adequate,some evidence of spider occupation and my pillow was made of sugar lump sized pieces of foam and smelt strongly of old sweat.

For 16.50 EUR I got a dish with beef liver and onion spotwise burned to charcoal and afterwards an argument with the manager about it.

Added to the fact the night porter smokes in the lobby and the smoke does filter under the door usually between 03.00 - 04.30.

But the corridors were badly in need of refurbishing, were dark, and reminded us more of a hospital with a medicinal smell.

took our luggage down the corridor and it smelled stale, the smell of cigarettes in the carpet.

but it was actually the neighbouring room’s shower.

- located very near the train station and also walking distance to the town center which has a very good ambiance.

The room has  a bed, closet, tv, desk and the bathroom had shower and bad, toilet and a nice make up area ( mirror, bar and chair).

The room was spacious, the bathroom was too, and  unusually it had large windows to the outside.

Beautiful interior and exterior, what fun to stay in a historic building (with modern amenities). Excellent!

RECEPTION 
The reception area/registration/hotel office reeks of mold, a very strong mold door in the entrance area and the staircase.

It was too loud as well due to the train station next door and the church bells ( we would expect soundproof windows).

if you need a quiet room - this will be difficult - the noise of other patrons in the passageways and closing doors is LOUD due to the non existence of sealed doors.

The room itself, and again, we opted for the most basic double, so this needs to be taken into consideration, showed it's 100 years, with a front door that rattled and basic accommodations.

Second day our room wasn´t serviced and we were accused of hanging the red sign on the door, we were also accused of smoking (we don´t smoke) and finally they refused to tell people on the outdoor terrace to keep it down at 2 am so we slept badly.

No more then a 4 min walk from door to door.

Room on the third floor , 320 was spacious, bathroom a little tiny and not at a best standard

Breakfast was yet another excercise in portion control and poor quality.

We looked around checked the bathroom which was also tiny and came out, thinking it was bad for the company to use this hotel and think it was acceptable for the amount of money paid.

but in some respects not even that, I would qualify it as a 2 star hotel, the staff is not friendly at all, the overall state of the hotel is not good, there is no airco throughout the hotel, the entrance is very bad, the breakfast variety is well below standard, the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired and I could go on.

I did not have occasion to use the restaurant; it looked very attractive and high quality, if a little on the expensive side.

but having no bottle of water in the room or tea facility makes the standard of the hotel decrease in my opinion.

but of course it is now tired and instead of keeping the level of accommodation up, the owners have chosen to lower their expectations.

Pool and restaurant much tinier than it shows on the photos and I was really expecting a traditional German restaurant in a beautiful traditional room, with out of norme dishes ( married to a German and after  35 year in this area, I know German specialities).

There are excellent restaurants in the area such as Papillion.

As were were on a tour there was a set menu.

We went down to the restaurant, and had food.

I have worked in food service/customer service for over twelve years.

Good comfortable breakfast with quick service, good space and nice food.

Next evening was Christmas Dinner, this was again Buffet for approximately 300 persons and to be fair the food was better and more available

The restaurants, and shops are nearby and we would recommend to take at trip to Wernigerode to look at the castle.

The staff are helpful and speak English for the most part and the food is excellent, especially the breakfasts.

This hotel has such potential with its location and the fact that its restaurant area joining the actual accommodation formed part of the medieval town wall.

The location is excellent, the history admirable, the restaurant, located in the old tower is fabulous,

The restaurant is cosy and the food absolutly ok.

Good food, buffet style in the large Marble room, excellent selection, still a number of stairs.

The rooms are fine and the staff is friendly.

We went downstairs to ask the hotel receptionist if there was any other rooms, "is that the best room there is" in a polite way.

Nice, clean, spacy rooms - a historic building which is beautifully incorporated in the more modern features of the hotel.

She put us in a room on the street side above a bar which was apparently a graduation party.

Nice room - good size for a single person.

The design rooms are nice and recommendable.

Other issues were whether we should pay for water on the dinner table, not be able to get a hot drink in the bar after 10 o’clock, and also not being able to get a coffee before 2o’clock
All in all not the norm for a 4 Star hotel where Customer Service should be uppermost

Every hotel I stayed in had a bottle of water and a kettle.They also don't change the bed sheets everyday.

If you want to spend a few days in the more than a thousand years old World Heritage city of Goslar, and a few quiet nights away from the bustle of the square, Hotel Kaiser Hof which is very nicely decorated, with grand and splendid surroundings dating back in history, is just the place to spend it.

Easy to get to the hotel from the main road, and not far from the city centre.

My wife and I spent a night there and enjoyed the city and the hotel.

We have just returned from another visit to the beautiful little medieval city of Goslar.

Absence of a lift makes this hotel not wheelchair suitable.

there is no elevator so if you have trouble getting up stairs, especially 2 flights then avoid this hotel.

But a really nice evening was had enjoying a Balkan meal, strange we thought, in Germany,

We also appreciated the availability of beer and wine at the hotel to enjoy in your room or out back in the garden.

Breakfast is very good, the evening meal in the enchanting Dining Room, even better.

The staff gave me tips on where to go, where to eat and even where to drive with my bike.

Behind the hotel there is a very nice garden - a perfect spot for enjoying a cold beer or playing with the kid(s).

The bathroom was great -- spacious, with a real and fully enclosed shower and lots of counter space.

Especially the bathroom impressed with its style, finish and quality.

The superior room we stayed in was fantastic & the bathroom superb, very modern.

but as it was edge to edge with the building next door , built that way a long time ago, the ventilation was not too good.there is no air conditioning but we left windows open as wide as possible.

Breakfast was in the more modern building and had excellent staff who kept the food stock replenished .

The little tourist choo-choo train stops right outside the front door, and most of the restaurants, cafes and other things to see and do in Goslar are just steps away.

The Breakfast buffet has a wide spread selection and the food is delicious too.

Breakfast was amazing with lots of good quality food to choose from and the breakfast room was a modern glass building that had been cleverly integrated into the hotel.

Good restaurant also, excellent breakfast and very nice and helpful staff, from the reservation manager to the waiters, they all show that they care for their customers.

We loved the little pub that is almost hidden from sight and is perfect for a little night cap.

There's even a restaurant at the hotel itself.

Breakfast was included in the rate and it was plentiful and delicious with a wide variety of foods to choose from.

We arrived late and found no restaurants open, the young women working the night shift was very kind and made us a platter of breads, cold cuts and cheese which was greatly appreciated!

Many tables by the Windows free, all the time we ate,

10/10 would stay here again when in the area, and very happy to see such businesses prosper: they go the extra mile in every direction – be it room decoration, food or attention – to make their customers happy.

The breakfast room is bright and cheerful, serving good coffee and a fabulous assortment of breads, salads, meats, cheeses, hot foods etc.

We enjoyed walking to the town square and loved the hotels right on the square, especially  having meals and afternoon coffee and cake at the Kaiserworth and other sights during the day

The food was very fresh and regularly replenished.

Our first night included dinner which was perfect and beautifully served in a small private dining room.

The building is a quaint Goslar-style structure and yet the rooms are modern and equipped with the comforts one wants when traveling.

Used a deluxe room it’s perfect it’s calm and silent equipment in the room is very good and the atmosphere in an old building is perfect.

but when they showed me the rooms, all was good.

The room was comfy and spacious, and just the right temperature, considering it was still winter.

Our charming room had a quaint leaning floor yet everything was made with high finish and quality.

Everything about this hotel is top quality - tastefully renovated buidlings, interestingly shaped rooms, excellent room facilities and equipment, outstanding personnel.

I got a very big room at the ground floor of the hotel.

The building is old and you can feel the history, the rooms have been renovated nicely and the beds and linen is super comfortable.

Housekeeping was excellent with the room looking immaculate each evening when we returned.

The streets are narrow and winding many are one way.

Ohh  -remember to book a parking space - streets are narrow, and parking difficult.

Even the streets are very tight there is a parking place behind the house without extra costs.

Get the hotel to send you the address for GPS as it is in a very small street in the heart of town.

but in the evening it was too much to walk with practically nobody in the streets in the dark to get to restaurants.

though not sure I would want to navigate this labyrinth of 
narrow cobble stone streets again.

The hotel is fantastic, the parking is a bit tricky to find and the city is filled with one way streets,

The hotel is in the heart of Goslar, in a very small and narrow street, and, as such, extremely difficult to find.

Did not like the little step up shower and definitely needed more towels which I asked for and did not get.

This hotel is really difficult to fault, my only criticisms are:
1. an extra towel in the room would have been appreciated.

The only disappointment was the graffiti on the exterior walls - I was initially stunned.

Now, if you like modern hotels with loads of straight walls and floors, this isn't for you.

There was very old graffiti on some of the walls!

A hotel with a glimpse of the old grand style: big rooms and bathrooms with 4 meters from floor to ceiling.

Room was spacious and clean with lots of storage space, large bathroom with plenty of hot water and a small smoker’s balcony.

but restrained and the decor is fresh but traditional in line with the hotel's heritage. Of particular note were the large bedroom with equally large bathroom and the wonderful breakfast (included in the price)

The room was spacious, extremely comfortable with all amenities catered for.

but due to its location you are close to all the towns amenities and there is an Irish bar in clear view from the hotel.

Shower was good with sufficient water power and good temperature.

The rooms are airy and comfortable with attached bath and toilet.

(Actually we were able to sometimes get two-bar reception leaning out the bathroom window

We had to pay a small fee to park in the secure car park

but was a bit troublesome on my iPhone, that needed new wifi-codes every time I woke it up from standby.

What a great place.from the desk to the room service it was 1st class.
