Avoid this hotel like the plague unless you don't mind an awful smell of smoke everywhere, dirty carpets and furniture.

The hotel itself is quite dated already and there is scent of cigarettes even on the non-smoking and the carpet and facade are already dated as well.

There are some old stains on the carpet and chairs,

The hotel room itself needs quite a bit of touch up , carpet wise , shower  water pressure wise, overall lighting wise , the room brightness really needs improvement.

- We caught a male staff member in the restaurant spitting on the carpet.

Don't like carpet in the room, caught a few tiny black bugs crawling around

However, the room decor is quite outdated and somehow the furnishings, beddings, carpet do not go with each other

Though for the price we paid and the location which is absolutely great we were satisfied with the hotel.

though it is located near to 海珠广场 Haizhu Square (line 2 and line 6), the distance from the train station to the hotel took quite a while especially if you are coming from line 2.

Hotel canton is in a great location walking distance to metro and right near great shopping restaurants and the Beijing road cultural district.

The property is located very close to Beijing Road and that's the only good thing I can say about it.

Location -Biggest plus is its proximity to a vibrant neighborhood of Beijing Lu, a shopping district frequented by young and old alike.Your evenings after a busy business day are sorted as the street is at 3 min walking distance from the hotel.

It is located at the end of Beijing road making it a strategic location for shopping and restaurants.

The location at Beijing Road is excellent for great shopping and a good variety of authentic local food which we enjoyed daily during our stay there.

The location is good, just 3 mins walk to Beijing road, and 10 mins to subway station.

However, the hotel is strategically located, with nearby Pearl River, a Park, and of course the Beijing Lu.

The hotel is centrally located around Beijing road, which is like one of the main district in Guangzhou that is filled with shops, foods & other attractions.

I love the location, its 2 min away from one of the busiest streets in the city: Beijing Lu, a street full of restaurants, retail stores.

Hotel is centrally located near historical tourist attractions as well as the Pedestrian shopping area.

Rooms met the expectations and the hotel is centrally located which helps in easy access to different part of the city.

We requested for a big metered taxi as we were 4 people with 4 bags and the concierge arranged it for us.

Staff speaks (basic) English and were really helpful when our luggage got lost on the flight.

There is literally no food available as veg anywhere by the walking distance.

Location-wise it is ok as it is about 5-8min walk to the nearest subway station and there is also a mall close by to have food and drinks.

Food in the restaurant is so so as I chose to go out onto the streets for my meals.

Room service food was brilliant, and the buffet breakfast has everything you would expect from a large international 5 star hotel chain.

I stayed in Canton hotel for the 4th time, it's location is very good on Beijing road which is the main Shopping area of Guangzhou.

Stayed in Guangzhou for a night and we opted for this hotel due to its convenient location to Beijing Road Pedestrian Shopping area.

The view was quite nice, near to public transportation, easy to find and near Beijing Road.

The room was clean enough for us and everyday the staff did a good job.

The hotel itself is pleasantly fitted out with very clean rooms and bathroom.

The room literally stinks of stale sewage and is unbearable unless the air con is kept turned on.

The only issue was with the shower a plug in the drain blocked it and caused flooding from the base into the bathroom floor the attendant pulled it out and cleaned up the mess, I asked her to leave it out to save further embarassment.

Reception staff have very little English so checking in and out can be a challenge.

The hotel management really need to recognise this employee who has gone out of her way to make sure that my parents' stay is comfortable and helping them when their bank card got swallowed up by the ATM.

Was there during the typhoon which came recently and there was absolutely no support from the staff regarding anything.

Front desk staffs are very polite and cooperative.

All thanks to my phone translator app ,my appeal was heard by one kind young girl and I was let in .

We find the hotel very clean with friendly staff.

My stay was very comfortable and the staff was very helpful.

Checking in was very slow and the room had a strong outdoor of mildew and were very humid, even with a/c on.

AC was a problem, too much heating even if its on cold.

this hotel is in bad shape, the AC isn't working properly and its hot in this city, the walls are thin so you can hear from room to another no privacy, the room smells moldy, the furniture is very old the carpet filthy.

I didn't have any problems with air conditioning or any room related problem.

Remember you rely on air-conditioning for at least 6 months of the year, to cool the room and remove humidity; it blows cold and can be noisy for some, as are most all the china hotel air-conditioners.

It seems in these older hotels the air conditioning has a very hard time keeping up.

the downside is some rooms where airconditioning does not work and had to be changed by me after the first night .The staff insisted they had set it right .

The room is starting to show its age a little with a few scuff marks here and there and the air conditioning starting to battle to keep the rooms cool.

However if it is peak of summer you could do well to look elsewhere since aircon cooling was really an issue.

Rooms are fine except for the strong smell from the carpet (as it often happens in humid climates when  the rooms are not well ventilated).

Large, awesome beds, giant TV, wide range of toiletries and very comfortable chairs.

Area surrounding the hotel also good, lots of restaurants from Burger King to upmarket for all tastes, shops, malls and near metro.

We had a twin room and the two beds were very good, maybe better than my own bed at home.

As  one other guest stated, the bed pillows are fabulous.

About the only nice thing I can say is that the beds and pillows were the perfect blend of softness with something firm underneath.

Rooms quiet, clean and comfortable with the beds and pillows excellent.

Kfc , burger king ,mc Donald also within walking distance.

Rooms appear to have been recently renovated, and are very spacious, with huge beds that have a choice of hard or soft pillows.

The king size bed was excellent and very comfortable along with the pillow and the flatscreen tv's have been replaced in the lounge and bedroom.

Only thing I found missing was the pillow sizes were quite big (although very soft)

I do feel they have improved the bedding and I am happy with that.

But room was good, It has 2 queen size beds with good linen.

The hotel run shuttle buses to canton fair and back free of charge which is great.

It is near the metro station do od you want you can go visit the city.

The service this hotel provides for business people travelling to the Canton Fair is first class, with registration in the lobby and shuttle bus both ways.

but it's a short walk to the metro so it's easy to get around.

This hotel is also a stop for an airport shuttle bus.

(On an aside, there is plenty to do and see in Guangzhou and it’s easy to do so using the metro.)

The best part is that the airport shuttle 2B  stops right outside the hotel n picks u up from there itself so reaching the airport is not a hassle.

Local metro station is Taojin (about 10 min walk) and the Metro is in fact as easy to navigate as Singapore or Hong Kong, English signs every where,

The free shuttle bus to fair grounds makes it more economical too.

We had visited Guangzhou for the Canton Fair and they had a shuttle bus every half hour to the venue which made it very convenient for us.

Airport shuttle - 2A - goes right upto the hotel so its very convenient both ways.

Location: Not bad, only 5mins walk to the nearest metro station (Taojin)

Rooms are in excellent condition and decent variety of food at Breakfast buffet.. City centre area and not far from Railway station and the bus drop-off point from HKG.. 

Haveli, The Indian Restaurant, is right across the road and they serve delicious food..

Great business hotel with a superb location close to Metro station, Shopping areas.

- We arrived Guangzhou through the East Railway station & surprisingly we found a free shuttle 
- the nearest metro station is like 7-10 min walking
- Hotel location was ok.   couple of shops & restaurants around the hotel.

It is easy to reach the hotel since it is within walking distance (about a couple of blocks) from the Taojin Metro Station (Exit B).

Getting the 72 hour visa at the airport was a long process be prepared.

However, locally there were tons of options (none of which took our Visa card).

Resent nickel dime charges to use business center.

The only hiccup that we encountered was an additional charge item on our bill upon check-out; someone used our room number to charge his/her drinks at the hotel's cafe.

but charged again and as at today 08/07 still have not released this pre authorization.

The breakfast was not included in the room charges and had to paid extra

Bellowing loud voices and seeing a group of them sucking on bottles of beer like monkeys, soon ended the pleasant atmosphere in the executive lounge

5.Laundry
Including a 100RMB allowance in your room charge adds income to the hotel,

but they charged me around 20 USD for it!

They charge based on their charges in Hong Kong..
Not value for money.

This is not a secure transaction and allows all the personnel at the hotel to see your charge card data.

The charge for the internet was not mentioned by agoda when booking.And it is expensive!The hotel is a little on the old side and the charge for the deluxe room is not great value for money.The staff are friendly and helpful.

They charge RMB3 per minute to use the internet in the business lounge.

If I were managing this facility I would be ashamed to charge this much.

The only down side to this hotel is the extra charges for high speed internet access (100 CNY/day).

The hotel's location is perfect for business meetings in GuangZhou.

I came across this hotel because it was the closest to my pickup location for a layover tour of Guangzhou.

The hotel is located inside a larger building complex and occupies 6 floors - from the 6th (where the lobby is located) to the 11th.

The room was clean and the location of the hotel is convenient near Tian He and next to overseas chinese village.

Very good location having a very good Indian restaurant opposite the hotel good breakfast nice shopping nearby and good rooms on executive floor  well served we usually on business book this hotel and being a priority member in holiday inn makes check in and out very quick and staff speaks english

The service is perfect, as is the location in the old city center of Guangzhou.

For those who are used to Holiday Inns, this place will be a confirmation of its hotels good service and standard.I confirm the location of the hotel is convenient, in front you have a good Indian restaurant (nothing soecial though).I discovered some nice restaurants in the closeby heping street ( a Japanese,a Thai, a Tibetan and a western bar,tapas).

I used to stay in holiday inn city centre 4-5 years ago during my businees trip in Guangzhou because the position is great, just a few minutes from subway and soem 10 minutes drive from Beijing Road.

The city of Guangzhou is very spread out, so it's difficult to say what would be the most central location in the city.

I have been to this facility several times and it is the first location in my mind whenever I wish to stay in Guangzhou City.

but it is centrally located and in close proximity to most of the popular stores and markets in Guangzhou.

This property located right on the heart of the city.

Hotel is very close to the garden hotel which means it's very good transport links and plenty of bars and restaurants in the area.

Take a bath, sleep, eat a good breakfast.

It has a very good Indian restaurant behind.

The hotel is a oasis because the american food and all the hotel is very different to china and have the customs of your country

(not a chinese kind rooms) breakfast is good enough to skip Lunch at market .advice take taxi only from hotel porch , avoid going out by walk to be safer side .

but there was a fair selection of western and chinese food and the price was reasonable.

The food was amazing & the bar was the same.

Before I got a half liter mug of Carlsberg beer.

and for Indians, a very good, Indian restaurant Haveli is just outside loddy.
