The property is gorgeous, being a historic building and having a colonial villa kind of feel.

We’ve stayed at the Morales several times because the location is convenient to the historical area which we love exploring.

Rooms were clean, suit was huge, service was great, staff were very helpful and friendly.

Then at the reception desk the ladies were friendly and courteous.

The hotel is perfect and the staff was friendly.

Aside from that, the hotel is a totally charming Mexican hacienda experience, with a friendly and helpful staff.

And the staff was VERY helpful and  very friendly.

Arrived via pre-arranged transport from the airport.

The employees here are honest, friendly, kind, and helpful.

They have excellent people working there with the best attitude its almost like being home so friendly.

I love my room and the  staff was very friendly, despite language barrier sometime being present.

Both American and "Mexican" Coffee offered.

On the day of my birthday they delivered an incredible Mexican dessert free of charge.

The architecture is classic 19th century Mexican with high ceilings, arches and balconies.

The staff was friendly and helpful, and we loved the beautifully prepared breakfast buffet, with fruit, juices, yogurt, cereals, delicious Mexican Cafe de olla, several hot dishes and an omelette station, where the cooks made wonderfully prepared omelettes.

Location is within 2 blocks of El Gorda Mexican restaurant and the hop on hop off bus stand.

It’s also very close to the arena where Mexican wrestling is held so well worth a visit.

Included is fresh-made juice, an omelet station, Mexican dishes (shredded beef, pork in green sauce, frijoles, chicken fajitas, chorizo, salad, cheese and ham), pancakes, potatoes, sweet breads and bread for toasting, yogurts, cottage cheese, fresh pineapple, papaya, watermelon, cantaloupe and mixed fruits in a bowl (apples, guavas, grapes, plums and kiwi), fresh-made coffee to which one can add cinnamon sticks, and dry cereals and oatmeal.

The authentic ambiance of the Mexican culture reflected in this space made us feel like we made a good choice.

Stay here and you better be Uber capable, or be willing to put up with the same old tired mexican standards like at La Chata.

A smile in any language goes a long way, and if you give one to a Mexican I guarantee you will get one back.

Breakfasts also included good coffee, fresh juices, unlimited variety of Mexican pastries and fruit.

You could get waffles, fruit, eggs or Mexican dishes.

Breakfast is a big spread, that changes daily, delicious mexican food, with nice pastries and eggs, to torta ahogada one morning,  to a new thing I had never had

This restaurant is very famous for its authentic Mexican food.

Food is very tasty with a nice choice of European and Mexican dishes both from buffet and  a'la carte.

The sound of the water falling in the fountain could be heard throughout the courtyard to the top of the hotel.

It was hard to pull up for valet parking with city traffic and we circled the block numerous times.

They have to stop it during the night because it is so noisy.

The rooms are noisy and the street is busy.

The hotel is a beautiful colonial building in the center of downtown, it’s remarkable that you can barely hear the street noise because the windows are so thick.

But a/c was not only extremely noisy , it  blows air like crazy.

They got us a driver and checked us in after our plane had arrived late and we didn't get in until 1am.

A noisy clacking air conditioning unit no matter what speed the fan was on.

Our only complaint about the room was the shaking that occurred when a large vehicle drove by,

However, there is a lot of noise in this hotel; a) because there were so e building works going on and b) the design of the hotel interior means that noise echoes somewhat.

There can be some noise here and there i.e.

Don’t take room 102, or you’ll hear the dish carts go by before morning food service, clanking ceramics, glass and flatware with each grout line the wheels cross, plus staff music playing on phones, and their conversation.

My room was quite – the front desk warned me against rooms with balconies that have a lot of street noise and seem to also to have windows on the hallway too.

but there are some very small ones as well. Quiet.

The only real noises were from the church bells.

After we stripped the bed and went to sleep we were awakened by the sound of dripping about an hour later.

No one seemed to mind that we blocked the lane for a minute on this busy city street…no honking or yelling or rude gesture that you might experience in some other country.

The only other thing; there was a club down the street that played music fairly loudly through the night, 'til around 4am,

but it happen to me and my sister and we were not going to keep quiet.

Facility includes; bar, restaurant, roof top pool, and gym.

We loved everything about the hotel - from the unique architecture, to the rooftop pool and comfortable rooms.

It is stunning with lots of neat courtyards to explore, a fun rooftop pool with city views, and a nice cafe.

The rooftop pool was a great way to cool off after site seeing.

As for the hotel itself, the staffing was extremely helpful, the breakfast was outstanding and I spent three hours in and by the rooftop pool on a hot, sunny day.

It has large rooms with an understatedly elegant décor, and great amenities such as a pool and rooftop terrace.

Also, there is a nice rooftop pool and a separate rooftop terrace that is week kept with flowers and good furniture.

A good range of amenities including a lovely rooftop pool and terrace where you can watch the sunset.

TV cable  CNN, FOX,  &  lots of channels en Español also.Weather was lovely so enjoyed the roof top pool.

Rooftop pool was very refreshing after the heat of the day.

The roof top pool was nice and we enjoyed the breakfast at the lobby restaurant twice.

The heated roof top pool was nice and relaxing after exploring the city and surrounding area.

Centrally located to all the historical points of interest and night life. Safe, great buffet and awesome view of the city from the swimming pool roof top:)

but modern services, including massage and a rooftop pool.

Given that, Hotel Morales is a welcome respite - it is quiet, the rooms are large and the rooftop pool and seating area are a nice touch.

The roof top pool and spa area looked amazing .

We never saw any of them smile each time that we went up to them nor were they very accommodating.

The staff and cleanliness of the hotel are top notch.

Staff went out of their way to make sure my family of 5 was comfortable.

but above all, we are super grateful to Jose Moreno (capital of the Bellboys).

A/C was great as was all services-housekeeping, concierge, restaurant waitstaff & food.

The staff put some a birthday note and goodies in our room which was so sweet.

- The concierge did not have a deep knowledge of restaurants and museums in the area.

La Perla is clean, classy, and full of personality.

One year, they arranged a carriage ride to tour the historic sites in Centro, another we had a delightful visit to the Guadalajara zoo, accompanied by Antonio.

And you enjoy a delicious breakfast family style with real silver and antique rose glass.

Besides the central historic district, our favorite neighborhood was Zapopan, which also has a great art museum.

Not only is the facility a beautiful historic mansion turned into a beautiful bed and breakfast,

Lars immediately made us feel at home in the stunning, historic manor.

They have beautiful antiques in every room of the house.

The location is perfect for walking to the historical ceter as well as many nice restuarants, and we felt very safe even at night.

On the first morning of our visit, Lars provided a (free) personalized walking tour of the historical center.

The location was perfect for exploring both the historic center and Colonia Americana, with it's wonderful restaurants and beautiful neighborhoods.

From there you can walk to the historic center of town.

They started with a personalized tour of the historical city highlights , explained everything in English with value added insights, made restaurant recommendations catered to our tastes, recommended daytime and evening sights where there were special events, made certain we always knew how to reach our destinations, and crafted a perfect individualized tour of ancient pyramids, Tequila (where we directly observed every step in the craft of producing tequila) and other towns/sights that were particular to our interests.

The mansion has a rich architectural and historical  value,  and the location give easy access to the heart of  Guadalajara Jalisco.

Host Lorenzo gave us a great tour of historical center of Guadalajara.

They had a free 1 1/2 hour walking tour of the historic center -- definitely worth taking to get yourself oriented.

Adrian, another member of the house, guided us on a foot tour of the historic district on our first day to familiarize us with the surrounding layout and history.

Our first day began with a walking tour of the historic center, led by La Perla employee Adrian.

The classic mexican lyric song,  "Me he de comer esa tuna" Sang by the iconic mexican singer Jorge Negrete, place (Guadalajara in a plain and Mexico city in a lake) Well my wife Nicole and I  we did found a beautiful Pearl in the heart of Jalisco Guadalajara, this unique pearl is The Hotel Boutique La Perla a cozy, Joie de vivre place to celebrate part of our 45Th.

We were burnt out on the work scene at home and decided to head out to a new destination in Mexico for us on the spur of the moment.

The hotel used to be a house and has very homey feel.

but within the charm of vintage Guadalajara.

The whole environment is warm and welcoming without pretense, as

It has all the beauty, comfort, cleanliness and charm you could want.

Americana -- in 2022 Time Out named it  "The World's Coolest Neighborhood" -- is  bursting with cafes, restaurants and art.

The rooms were very comfortable and tastefully decorated.

The breakfasts were ample and delicious and the room was both comfortable and tastefully decorated.

It’s a glimpse back to a more glamorous era of travel when personalized service was appreciated.

Besides being in a beautifully decorated 100-year-old mansion, the hospitality by hosts Lars and Guillermo (Memo) and their staff is incredibly warm and welcoming.

The thoughtful touches, from artful decor, to delicious yet simple breakfasts (perfect for a day of adventuring), to filtered water and tea available 24 hrs a day, to quality conversation over cocktails in the evening made this the ultimate gem of our Guadalajara experience.

The Gothic churches and adjacent architecture is as beautiful as anywhere in the world.

La Perla is beautiful yet not “stuffy” and has amazing art.

The art & architectural touches throughout the house only added to our delight.

It is a real tribute to Lars and Memo that we felt immediately welcome as they have created such a terrific environment in their beautiful home, one complimented by their professionalism, warmth, charm, friendliness and interesting backgrounds.

The rooms were beautiful, the beds were so comfortable, and the hotel was  perfectly decorated.

The rooms are simply gorgeous yet very comfortable and it's obvious the restoration and updates were done with exceptional quality.

The B&B is beautifully decorated and the room had every amenity we would need.

They were helpful when needed, friendly, informative and pleasant to converse with.

Lorenzo, Memo, Antonio and the rest of the staff are friendly and helpful without being intrusive.

We travel a lot and we always hope that a small B&B will offer us a gracious, personalized experience -- maps and helpful suggestions,  a welcoming margarita on an upstairs terrace, friendly conversations over breakfast, attention to the details that make rooms comfortable.

The thoughtful yet unobtrusive attention we received from Lars, Guillermo, and their friendly staff really made us feel more like guests in someone's home than customers in a hotel.

Everyone was attentive, friendly and determined to make sure our stay was not just satisfactory,

People were friendly and we felt safe everywhere.

but family, too..you will not ever regret staying at this lovely and friendly spot..

From that friendly greeting thru to our sad good byes, we knew we had made new best friends.

Regarding Guadalajara itself I found it to still be safe, the people friendly, and respectful of the rules and customs of the pandemic - both in public places and in restaurants.

In addition to the centrally located/safe location, warm and romantic charm of the décor, cleanliness and through security/covid health procedures was the warm, friendly guidance and support from Guillermo and Lars to make my stay perfect.

The entire staff was extremely helpful and friendly.

All the staff were friendly, warm, and attentive.

The real attraction here is the friendly and attentive service from Lars, Memo, and the others on site.

the team is super friendly and attentive to individual guests, offering personalized dining and activity recommendations and greeting you with wine or beer every day.

there is no place like la perla..from the moment you enter the iron gate, you are welcomed with a friendly smile and big hello from lars, the owner, and partner, memo..it’s like being in a friend’s living room when you arrive and come down for their delicious breakfast..and if you’re lucky, a tequila tour or a downtown tour with adrian, will be your highlight..not enough room here for me to continue about all the wonderful things about la perla and the excellent staff..you will not regret your stay at la perla..they do not miss a beat..

The absolute best part of my stay was the friendly engaging conversation of the hosts.

The owner and staff live onsite and they are extremely friendly and knowledgeable.

However, if you are planning a longer stay and/or looking to stay clear of others during the pandemic, the apartment has its own entrance and is somewhat removed from the comings and goings of the main entrance.

but more than that -- it's a sign that everyone fully enjoys what they do.

The only warning I'd give other visitors is to not wear jewelry when walking around, my wife unfortunately lost a lovely necklace to a thief.

but they had a small sign instructing you to flush your paper. LOL.

Lets start first with the host's, Lars, Memo and Antonio make your stay fun, informative and restful and their rooftop margaritas are not to be missed!

The smiles, laughs, conversations, jokes were plentiful and added to my wonderful stay at La Perla.

Lars shared his personalized maps of the city (with restaurant recs), Tonala, Zapopan, and Tlaquepaque, making these excursions a dream.

Folks are Perla are extremely welcoming and warm-hearted.

The partners - Lars, Memo and Antonio as well as the other staff were outstanding, warm and gracious.

One of the owners met us when we got there.

But Lorenzo, Guillermo, Antonio and Terri also offer genuine care and consideration for your experience; they are wonderful people.

the kind of friends who have exquisite taste and do everything possible to make your feel at home.

They got to know us and personalized recommendations in Guadalajara that made the trip even better than expected.

What an unexpected treat and how indicative of the generosity of our hosts.

We stayed 3 nights with friends and were hosted by wonderfully welcoming Lars and his associate Memo.

Lars, Memo and Antonio were so helpful and accommodating and were a big part of making my stay a wonderful experience.

There are plenty of restaurants and bars to keep your evenings busy and the staff at La Perla are always full of helpful ideas and will gladly have a staff member accompany you on your adventures, if you wish.

When you leave, you don’t say goodbye to hotel staff.

I was greeted like a queen and felt like one throughout my stay.

What a wonderful place- staying here isn't just staying anywhere- it's a full, beautiful experience with hosts who genuinely care.

The B&B is outstanding and the owners, Lorenzo and Memo are very easy to work with.

They are attentive to all of their guests' needs, Lorenzo gave us a quick walking tour of the neighborhood, pointing out several restaurants we might want to visit as well as guiding us to sites a bit further away.

The next day, Lars kindly offered to give my father and his girlfriend a walking tour of El Centro while I was at work.

If you visit La Perla, make sure you do the walking tour with Antonio.

There really is a free walking tour, which took about two hours!

The walking tour offered on the first day of our stay familiarized us with the neighborhood and ignited our curiosity sending us to many wonderful adventures in Guadalajara.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the walking tour with Antonio.

They provided bottled water, a yummy breakfast, a walking tour of the Centro area, and happy hour every evening on the roof.

A leisurely private walking tour was included which lasted 5 hours.

The attentive, accommodating hosts, Lorenzo and Guerillmo, and Antonio, in the kitchen and available for a lovely walking tour, are a caring, thoughtful team.

Mind you, you don't get the breakfast or afternoon wine gathering options - or other amenities which include a city walking tour.

Starting from the simple yet delicious breakfast of fresh bread with soft boiled eggs, to a leisurely walking tour of Downtown GDL, to enjoying fruits with our hosts in the dining room of this beautifully-restored 1920s-built adobe abode, the team at La Perla helped us make the most of our 48-hour jaunt in Jalisco.

Lars gave us an informative walking tour of both their neighborhood and a walk into the central city.

The stay included a complimentary walking tour of downtown which was appreciated given I had limited time in Guadalajara.

The breakfast is wonderful and the walking tour guided by Adrian your first morning, is perfect for Guadalajara rookies!

We went on a nice walking tour of the downtown area, offered free of charge by one of his staff.

Adrian provides a thorough (complimentary) walking tour of Centro tailored to your interests and Memo and Rodrigo are smiling presences, always helpful.

The staff provides a complimentary walking tour through some of the areas that tend to be of interest to the first time visitor to this area.
