Rooms were clean, suit was huge, service was great, staff were very helpful and friendly.

Then at the reception desk the ladies were friendly and courteous.

The hotel is perfect and the staff was friendly.

Aside from that, the hotel is a totally charming Mexican hacienda experience, with a friendly and helpful staff.

Arrived via pre-arranged transport from the airport.

The employees here are honest, friendly, kind, and helpful.

They have excellent people working there with the best attitude its almost like being home so friendly.

I love my room and the  staff was very friendly, despite language barrier sometime being present.

The sound of the water falling in the fountain could be heard throughout the courtyard to the top of the hotel.

It was hard to pull up for valet parking with city traffic and we circled the block numerous times.

They have to stop it during the night because it is so noisy.

The rooms are noisy and the street is busy.

The hotel is a beautiful colonial building in the center of downtown, it’s remarkable that you can barely hear the street noise because the windows are so thick.

But a/c was not only extremely noisy , it  blows air like crazy.

They got us a driver and checked us in after our plane had arrived late and we didn't get in until 1am.

A noisy clacking air conditioning unit no matter what speed the fan was on.

Our only complaint about the room was the shaking that occurred when a large vehicle drove by,

However, there is a lot of noise in this hotel; a) because there were so e building works going on and b) the design of the hotel interior means that noise echoes somewhat.

There can be some noise here and there i.e.

Don’t take room 102, or you’ll hear the dish carts go by before morning food service, clanking ceramics, glass and flatware with each grout line the wheels cross, plus staff music playing on phones, and their conversation.

My room was quite – the front desk warned me against rooms with balconies that have a lot of street noise and seem to also to have windows on the hallway too.

but there are some very small ones as well. Quiet.

The only real noises were from the church bells.

No one seemed to mind that we blocked the lane for a minute on this busy city street…no honking or yelling or rude gesture that you might experience in some other country.

After we stripped the bed and went to sleep we were awakened by the sound of dripping about an hour later.

The only other thing; there was a club down the street that played music fairly loudly through the night, 'til around 4am,

but it happen to me and my sister and we were not going to keep quiet.

We never saw any of them smile each time that we went up to them nor were they very accommodating.

The staff and cleanliness of the hotel are top notch.

Staff went out of their way to make sure my family of 5 was comfortable.

but above all, we are super grateful to Jose Moreno (capital of the Bellboys).

A/C was great as was all services-housekeeping, concierge, restaurant waitstaff & food.

The staff put some a birthday note and goodies in our room which was so sweet.

- The concierge did not have a deep knowledge of restaurants and museums in the area.

The room smelled like an ashtray and the AC was not able to cool it below about 75 degrees.

My room assigned on exec level possitively reaked of mold, was damp and the a/c barely worked.

Terrible experience, room A/C never worked fine, Exec Lounge terrible, no food, no silverware, no plates!!

This trip was a 2 star instead of normal 4 because the door lock was defective.

The AC in our room was acting weird couldn’t sleep for two nights complained

Old, even at the executive "renewed" floor, AC would work of and on and was very nosy, shower.

Bathroom had paint peeling due to the humidity as there is nonair circulation.

Nonsmoking  room had lingering  cigarette  odor  unless  AC was running.

You can tell at the front desk at arrival to disable the motion sensors to avoid this problem.

although I did have issues turning off the air conditioning system.

If this was my bathroom at home I would certainly have fixed it by cleaning or recaulking the tub/shower units.

The "trendy" set has other options such as the Riu (busy, glitzy and & crowded) or maybe the brand-new AC Marriott (chain has Euro-minimalist decor for the young who aspire to hipness) when it finally opens.

At check in I was denied for a room upgrade even my Diamond Hilton Honors status, the suite at the club floor was completely outdated, typical 80´decor, noisy air con, dirty carpet.

If I were to pick a few things, I didn't care much for the food offered for breakfast, the air conditioning in the room was very loud (perhaps outdated), and the treadmill in the exercise room was in Spanish (I didn't know how/if I could switch to English).

The fan made horrible noises so I tuned it off only to awake in the middle of the night in what seemed like a stuffy boxcar.

Its also a very old property - I had in a 'Honors' room - (I didn't feel honored at all) with thin walls and erratic A/C.

My bathroom didn't have a bath, the shower area was a bit old and shabby, the toilet didn't always flush and there were reduced toiletries such as no moisturiser.

However, they gave me a Junior Suite with no pull out bed in the Living Room (which they usually do) which also has a second bathroom.

No separate toilet and shower, it was all one room and was dirty.

Shower head so corroded it barely sprays.

Due to COVID I was unable to use any of the amenities.

Valet parking is $5 per day.

The shower door was either installed wrong or had started to lean over time because it did not form a complete seal when closed, so water seeped out onto the floor every time I showered.

Bathroom carpet paint and furniture need to be refreshed ASAP.

The only thing I would ding them for was the restroom, the shower curtain was a little old and falling apart.

The tub and shower grout was old and almost looked dirty.

The only item that I would like to see improved is more shelt space in the shower area.

The desk chair peeled off and the toilets / shower had and funny smell.

However, the rooms are a little tired and especially the bathrooms could do with some updates.

Shower water pressure was extremely low too.

The bathroom was peeling off paint, chipped and scratches.

The bathroom had stains on the tub and toilet.

The first night I found bugs in my bed and in the shower.

Overall a friendly stay that would bring me back in the future.

Thank you on our next vacation to Guadalajara and spend at least a week they have great breakfast great drinks, friendly staff.

Everyone from Reception, housekeeping, maintenance, bell staff, restaurant and Lounge employees are very friendly and professional.

Though, I think they did it, due to the age of the hotel and the humid weather, eliminated the “musty” smell.

The bathrooms could use some updates as the drains were very slow and very badly configured.

Wow, this stay was horrible, my room smelled like sewage.

It seemed to me that there was a problem with the plumbing because the nasty smell occurred at the same time in the evenings, and lingered each time for about an hour-and-a-half.

Definitely something to completely burn your hair with.

The spa is amazing, breakfast buffet is great, staff are very polite, attentive and helpful.

All of the staff went out of there way every night and in the morning to explain the dishes they were serving.

Chef Moi and the waiters ( Mario, Billy) were amazing and very patient in going over the menu items as well as share their uniqueness and quality of ingredients.

He personally came out to greet us and explained preparation details.

The wait staff were all fantastic; Ruis Manuel, Antonio and Fernando took Amazing care of us.

All of the staff at Vitrales Restaurant treated us so well.

The bar staff was on point with drinks and more importantly there to have a conversation and help you unwind after a long day.

However, if you are planning a longer stay and/or looking to stay clear of others during the pandemic, the apartment has its own entrance and is somewhat removed from the comings and goings of the main entrance.

The loft apartment has a separate entrance so my contact with the others could be minimized.

They were helpful when needed, friendly, informative and pleasant to converse with.

Lorenzo, Memo, Antonio and the rest of the staff are friendly and helpful without being intrusive.

We travel a lot and we always hope that a small B&B will offer us a gracious, personalized experience -- maps and helpful suggestions,  a welcoming margarita on an upstairs terrace, friendly conversations over breakfast, attention to the details that make rooms comfortable.

The thoughtful yet unobtrusive attention we received from Lars, Guillermo, and their friendly staff really made us feel more like guests in someone's home than customers in a hotel.

Everyone was attentive, friendly and determined to make sure our stay was not just satisfactory,

Regarding Guadalajara itself I found it to still be safe, the people friendly, and respectful of the rules and customs of the pandemic - both in public places and in restaurants.

In addition to the centrally located/safe location, warm and romantic charm of the décor, cleanliness and through security/covid health procedures was the warm, friendly guidance and support from Guillermo and Lars to make my stay perfect.

The absolute best part of my stay was the friendly engaging conversation of the hosts.

The owner and staff live onsite and they are extremely friendly and knowledgeable.

but more than that -- it's a sign that everyone fully enjoys what they do.

The only warning I'd give other visitors is to not wear jewelry when walking around, my wife unfortunately lost a lovely necklace to a thief.

but they had a small sign instructing you to flush your paper. LOL.

The smiles, laughs, conversations, jokes were plentiful and added to my wonderful stay at La Perla.

Lars shared his personalized maps of the city (with restaurant recs), Tonala, Zapopan, and Tlaquepaque, making these excursions a dream.

Folks are Perla are extremely welcoming and warm-hearted.

The partners - Lars, Memo and Antonio as well as the other staff were outstanding, warm and gracious.

One of the owners met us when we got there.

But Lorenzo, Guillermo, Antonio and Terri also offer genuine care and consideration for your experience; they are wonderful people.

the kind of friends who have exquisite taste and do everything possible to make your feel at home.

They got to know us and personalized recommendations in Guadalajara that made the trip even better than expected.

What an unexpected treat and how indicative of the generosity of our hosts.

We stayed 3 nights with friends and were hosted by wonderfully welcoming Lars and his associate Memo.

Lars, Memo and Antonio were so helpful and accommodating and were a big part of making my stay a wonderful experience.

La Perla is clean, classy, and full of personality.

There are plenty of restaurants and bars to keep your evenings busy and the staff at La Perla are always full of helpful ideas and will gladly have a staff member accompany you on your adventures, if you wish.

When you leave, you don’t say goodbye to hotel staff.

I was greeted like a queen and felt like one throughout my stay.

What a wonderful place- staying here isn't just staying anywhere- it's a full, beautiful experience with hosts who genuinely care.

The B&B is outstanding and the owners, Lorenzo and Memo are very easy to work with.

The garden was fully under renovation and we had to walk through a construction site to get to our room.

We found this hotel online and using Google maps were a little concerned because of some construction next door,

There is construction in progress next to the hotel beginning around 9 am and finishing around 6 pm,

There was a huge construction side next to it and we weren't properly warned before booking.

although when we were there, a neighbour was doing construction and he only seemed to stop at 7 pm.

That construction noise you may have read about was not a bother at all.

We were worried about construction noise from past reviews

Only current drawback is some construction next door.

It will be even better when the construction next door is completed - very noisy on the patio/garden.

Do not stay at this hotel until the construction is done.

Unfortunately while we were there, a very large building next door was under construction, so there was a considerable amount of noise.

Construction didn't start until 8 AM and ended at 6 PM,

There is construction work next to the hotel (they are apparently building some high-end apartments),

Also - expect a little noise - construction on one side, disco at night on the other,

Construction for the next week so no taxis can enter street.

Street construction will be complete in a week😊.

During our stay the road by the hotel was closed for construction.

Only negative which will last for just a couple more weeks is the construction going on in the street outside.

Construction started in March 2015 and will likely continue into 2016. 2.

We were concerned about the construction of a building that is going on at the present moment,

Alejandro and the rest of the staff were very friendly & professional.

The people who manage it, particularly Arnaldo and Paulina, are so warm and friendly that I felt like they were family.

This was a charming and friendly boutique hotel.

All of our needs were meant by the warm and friendly staff, especially Armando, Christopher, and Paula  who helped us find our way and plan our excursions.
