The sound of the water falling in the fountain could be heard throughout the courtyard to the top of the hotel.

It was hard to pull up for valet parking with city traffic and we circled the block numerous times.

They have to stop it during the night because it is so noisy.

The rooms are noisy and the street is busy.

The hotel is a beautiful colonial building in the center of downtown, it’s remarkable that you can barely hear the street noise because the windows are so thick.

But a/c was not only extremely noisy , it  blows air like crazy.

They got us a driver and checked us in after our plane had arrived late and we didn't get in until 1am.

A noisy clacking air conditioning unit no matter what speed the fan was on.

Our only complaint about the room was the shaking that occurred when a large vehicle drove by,

However, there is a lot of noise in this hotel; a) because there were so e building works going on and b) the design of the hotel interior means that noise echoes somewhat.

There can be some noise here and there i.e.

Don’t take room 102, or you’ll hear the dish carts go by before morning food service, clanking ceramics, glass and flatware with each grout line the wheels cross, plus staff music playing on phones, and their conversation.

My room was quite – the front desk warned me against rooms with balconies that have a lot of street noise and seem to also to have windows on the hallway too.

but there are some very small ones as well. Quiet.

The only real noises were from the church bells.

No one seemed to mind that we blocked the lane for a minute on this busy city street…no honking or yelling or rude gesture that you might experience in some other country.

After we stripped the bed and went to sleep we were awakened by the sound of dripping about an hour later.

The only other thing; there was a club down the street that played music fairly loudly through the night, 'til around 4am,

but it happen to me and my sister and we were not going to keep quiet.

Rooms were clean, suit was huge, service was great, staff were very helpful and friendly.

November 15th, 2018 was our stay we were in town for the Robbie Williams concert my colleague and I booked a separate room 3 rooms down from my sister yes that is true two sperate rooms , everything was fine room was clean etc.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

It is very clean and the rooms are comfortable - this is our home away from home and we will always stay here when we are in town!

Most importantly, our room was very clean.

Room was clean, quiet and comfortably equipt.

The room smelled like an ashtray and the AC was not able to cool it below about 75 degrees.

My room assigned on exec level possitively reaked of mold, was damp and the a/c barely worked.

Terrible experience, room A/C never worked fine, Exec Lounge terrible, no food, no silverware, no plates!!

This trip was a 2 star instead of normal 4 because the door lock was defective.

The AC in our room was acting weird couldn’t sleep for two nights complained

Old, even at the executive "renewed" floor, AC would work of and on and was very nosy, shower.

Bathroom had paint peeling due to the humidity as there is nonair circulation.

Nonsmoking  room had lingering  cigarette  odor  unless  AC was running.

You can tell at the front desk at arrival to disable the motion sensors to avoid this problem.

although I did have issues turning off the air conditioning system.

If this was my bathroom at home I would certainly have fixed it by cleaning or recaulking the tub/shower units.

The "trendy" set has other options such as the Riu (busy, glitzy and & crowded) or maybe the brand-new AC Marriott (chain has Euro-minimalist decor for the young who aspire to hipness) when it finally opens.

At check in I was denied for a room upgrade even my Diamond Hilton Honors status, the suite at the club floor was completely outdated, typical 80´decor, noisy air con, dirty carpet.

If I were to pick a few things, I didn't care much for the food offered for breakfast, the air conditioning in the room was very loud (perhaps outdated), and the treadmill in the exercise room was in Spanish (I didn't know how/if I could switch to English).

The fan made horrible noises so I tuned it off only to awake in the middle of the night in what seemed like a stuffy boxcar.

Its also a very old property - I had in a 'Honors' room - (I didn't feel honored at all) with thin walls and erratic A/C.

My bathroom didn't have a bath, the shower area was a bit old and shabby, the toilet didn't always flush and there were reduced toiletries such as no moisturiser.

However, they gave me a Junior Suite with no pull out bed in the Living Room (which they usually do) which also has a second bathroom.

No separate toilet and shower, it was all one room and was dirty.

Shower head so corroded it barely sprays.

Due to COVID I was unable to use any of the amenities.

The shower door was either installed wrong or had started to lean over time because it did not form a complete seal when closed, so water seeped out onto the floor every time I showered.

Bathroom carpet paint and furniture need to be refreshed ASAP.

The only thing I would ding them for was the restroom, the shower curtain was a little old and falling apart.

The tub and shower grout was old and almost looked dirty.

The only item that I would like to see improved is more shelt space in the shower area.

The desk chair peeled off and the toilets / shower had and funny smell.

However, the rooms are a little tired and especially the bathrooms could do with some updates.

Shower water pressure was extremely low too.

The bathroom was peeling off paint, chipped and scratches.

The bathroom had stains on the tub and toilet.

The first night I found bugs in my bed and in the shower.

Plus the drink selection is Awesome ask for Luis Enrique Restaurant Reforma Rooms are clean and Excellent condition to relax and enjoy the city.10

but she was so pleasant and did a wonderful job making sure our room was clean and serviced.

I was at this hotel for 14 days and the service was great went to room and had a sanitised sticker on the door and room was clean, (room 1805) as  a diamond member I was upgraded to executive floor

The bathrooms could use some updates as the drains were very slow and very badly configured.

Wow, this stay was horrible, my room smelled like sewage.

It seemed to me that there was a problem with the plumbing because the nasty smell occurred at the same time in the evenings, and lingered each time for about an hour-and-a-half.

Definitely something to completely burn your hair with.

For two night there was a strong and disgusting smell coming from the bathroom.

The bathroom had an odd smell everytime the water ran, I think the drain had a problem.

The second time, we were moved to the executive floor since my husband had some asthmatic reactions to the fumes from painting being done three floors down!

Many roads constructions outside makes it a little hard to walk around Centro Histórico.

Lastly, there is construction all around, so beware.

As of  September 2018 there is a significant amount of construction going on citywide, to repair the streets.

but I do warn some of you the city NOT the hotel are doing construction nearby so that view of the Cathedral is still nice but the construction kind of turned me off slightly but that's not the hotels fault.

however, we were not advised of the construction going behind the hotel when the reservation was made.

Outside the noise from the construction below was jarring and continuous and continued until at least midnight.

Also right in front of the hotel, construction of a third metro line is undergoing and makes access to the hotel difficult.

The only thing problematic was trying to hail Uber from this location, as there is construction going on around the hotel.

The only downsize is all the construction that is going on in the center of the city with their new metro.

You could hear the construction going on which wasn't too bad, at least for me.

Although there was construction taking place in this part of town, it did NOT interfere whatsoever with our stay at NH Collection Guadalajara Centro Historico.

However, the city is undergoing big construction right next to the hotel.

The subway construction does make it difficult to find a drop off point

They automatically charged my credit card more than 100 USD,

The honey room presidential suite didn't have the sparkling beverage, glasses for a toast or the strawberries and chocolate that we were charged for.

butt, you had to insert the card multiple times to get it to work.

but of course, their strategy to not give you a credit so they don't lose commission was for the employee to tell me he was not available.

I called to ask for an explanation and I was told that the first bottle is courtesy,  the following I have to ask room service to be charged.

although your first set of beverages and coffee are included, if you stay for more than a night and once you used up the coffee they’ll charge you even for the coffee!

They incorrectly charged me, didn’t fix the error and wouldn’t give me a refund.

Once these initial amenities are used up, the hotel will replenish them for a charge.

buttler we asked for the towels as per the security guard instructions were more busy charging drinks.

Problem I noticed was that a lot of people had issues with the cards in the the slot and had to insert it multiple times.

To make the stay even better, the small refrigerator is equipped with a couple of beers, sodas and waters free of charge for the first time you consume it; if you need more it will be charged.

I am only giving 4 stars because of the attitude we received from the parking garage attendants and because parking is charged on a daily basis.

I had a problem as well when I tried to extend a day extra the front desk charge me twice because they charge me wrong on the first time so I paid a little extra the second time.

Elevators were a tad tricky until we got the hang of it (and had to help everyone getting on --- there was always someone on wrong elevator bank, or not realizing each person has to insert their room card).

Guests have to insert the Key Card to get the elevator to work, and the reader would not read cards very well.

When you enter the room don't forget to put one of the two key cards given to you into the little slot to the right because we thought our lights didn't work in the room!

I've seen a LOT of other guests having the same issue, they just kept trying to use their cards without much success.

The hotel was supposed to check the room cards of guests.

You must have your room card in order to use them,

I tried some other Numbers on the phone with no success.

The person who answered the phone said they’d call back to send the menu,

People are rude from reservations, to front office (they are the worst) and even the phone operator.

What I’d like to see improved:
The wake up call I ordered never came!

So the room feels warm and you need to call the front desk so they send a maintenance person to clean it.

There was no phone in the bathroom at all!

If you want more, call room service for normal minibar prices.

If you call, you are talking to people with limited English and who in any case have no connection to the hotel, and do not relay information.

Only downside was a 6am cleaning in the next room which was noisy and I had to call the front desk to have them stop it.

My Android phone had some trouble connecting to the network, sometimes I could not connect at all, sometimes it started working.

Very mismanaged, I tried to call from inside my room, and was hung up on 3 times, finally went to front desk , and no one can help

I asked for a new bedroom mostly because I didnt like the location and Veronica from reception told me she was going to call me back in a minute.

While we were checking in, he got distracted between his cell and some other clients.

I had to call from my room and use the international operator.

but they did make some calls as soon as I mentioned the problems.

Nevertheless, after a few hours both phones suddenly managed to connect to the network, so problem solved.

We went back down to  reception as no one would pick up the phone at reception.where it took another 40 minutes to get the wifi , keycard and housekeeping issue resolved.

I call the hotel immediately and the night manager tells me that I was too drunk to remember going to the bar.

I called the day of arrival to let them know I would be arriving late th call took about half and hour and 6 transfers because nobody could confirm my reservation or make the appropriate notes in the system.

Again., after a long wait they finally gave me a room and I was woken up by a call at 3am that they had found my luggage.

LIKES: Spacious room, clean room, good sleep, very good view to the street and city from 4th floor.

Great ambiance, clean rooms, and we had such a great nights rest.
