The Taverna - I sent my dinner back as it was inedible lamb chops burnt and looked as

The crepes and the pistachio ice creams were scrumptious.

Food wise for me breakfast was the best meal of the day , lots of choices healthy and not , a large selection of fruit, at all meals .

The local Greek dishes were definitely the best and the breakfast was better than dinner.

We ate at the taverna a couple of lunch times, and even that seemed to be very similar to the evening buffet.

The pancakes were amazing, the morning coffees and all day drinks from the bar near the beach were great - the staff there remember your drink orders and are great with children.

Restaurants - main buffet for breakfast was good and what you would typically expect for AI.

The snack bar was nice, pancakes, waffles, ice cream, popcorn, hot dogs.

Restaurants
I have never seen so much choice at breakfast that at this hotel.

Breakfast was good, we always went at quieter times early in the morning.

They have a buffet and grills to grill your own meat in the evening.

The main restaurant has the best buffet everywhere!

For example, “Chilli is Chilli in name only with all the right ingredients except chilli powder.

The thing that stops it from being a 5* rating is the evening food - the buffet options in the main restaurant are average, and by day 4 we were bored so ate out at the local town twice (10mins away), which is highly worth a visit.

Just want to add that the quality of fruit offered at breakfast was dismal, should five star hotels be actually putting out tinned fruit, and the selection of Danish pastries was laughable.

Eating in the main restaurant in particular breakfast was line sitting in a zoo.

Most days we were in The Restaurant for breakfast and dinner and there was plenty of options available for adults.

I wasn't very lucky with mosquitos, was bitten few times every night then I went to the town to buy some protection.

Upon returning home what ever the stomach bug is I passed to my partner who was not on the holiday with us , after only spending a day with him .

but only bitten once in the 10 days we were there.

We had a tummy bug last 4 days of our 7 day holiday.

however we did bring all our bug repellent and only got bitten a few times, this did not ruin our holiday it’s just something that happens anywhere you go.

Take bug spray, and plug ins for the room and you’ll have no issues.

Mosquitoes - some people seemed to get bitten alive.

Lots of bugs entering the room no replant or pest control.

The food selection was poor most nights and the hotel has a problem with flies, they were often crawling all over the food and the tables.

The food at this hotel is the worst I have had anywhere and there are flies constantly crawling over it all.

The room was ok, nothing else to say, except we had a dead cockroach which sat on the floor for 3 days.

but our whole experience and many others like us .. have been bitten to hell by mosquitos.

There was also a sash door so you could leave the door open while keeping the bugs out.

We found Avon skin so soft spray in the swap shop which did seem to help, which we gave to Harry the head rep as he was being bitten alive poor lad.

Take bug repellent, there are loads of mosquitos!

well I had a stomach bug and that was probably due to warm food standing around for too long, flies landed all over salads,cheese and bread anything uncovered.

CONS - Hotel was packed due to school holidays and there were very few (if any) loungers to be found after 10am so you have to get up early to reserve them if you want a spot by the pool.

We missed two summer holidays due to Covid,

The resort had only opened the day before due to the start of the season

They are also only open 9-6 when the lifeguards are there due to local laws, so if you’re wanting a midnight dip, don’t book a swim up room!

Due to Tui cancelling our planned holiday to Tui Blue Lagoon Palace, we opted to book this hotel next door so we could have a much needed break.

I did that and the lady informed me that they can’t do 2 appointments together due to covid and gave me two times if I wanted to book them through the app.

but due too poor quality of food/drinks it is not worthy of this status.

But we knew about it from the beginning and we were not interested in the beach due to my son's broken arm.

Bad was that due to COVID they didn’t have any beverages in the fridge.

Unfortunately due to there being nowhere to sit my husband accidentally while leaning on a shelf knocked a vase on the floor.

but I think this was due to how they were having to work in COVID-19.

Sun beds were available at anytime of the day due to the hotel only been at 65% capacity.

The only negatives are due to COVID which will probably affect all inclusive more than bed and breakfast or self- catering.

Due to pandemic you cannot serve yourself so there is a lot of queuing.

You get to eat and the al cartes on the evening once each bit then whenever you like a lunch time BUT due to covid they want you to book breakfast , lunch and dinner which is frustrating as on holiday you don’t want to be restricted To certain times to eat.

Whilst I understand the hotel is under increased pressure due to COVID measures, the hotel is completely overwhelmed and grossly understaffed.

Anymore than this, and I would say it wouldn’t be worth it due to the drinks not being named, the quality of food and the staff not being overly friendly.

Due to this there was so much food wastage and there was a lot of waiting time to get food as they were hugely understaffed.

Came here due to the other destination we were due to go to was cancelled.

There were never long queues to get food or drinks.

The later you arrive for food you will find empty trays of food waiting refilling or food that has not been so popular that has gone less warm.

At no point were we left waiting for a drink.

There were never tables ready and queues for tables went out into the reception area.

When going into the restaurants you have to find your own table to sit on and usually end up sitting on a dirty one and waiting for them to  clean up.

If you arrives at the restaurant after 7:00pm there was generally a queue going out into reception

By 11am you could barely get to the pool and the ques at the bar were awful.

That goes for all the staff not just waiting on staff.

The one downside to this was the snack bar, although the food was good and freshly prepared, there was frequently a long queue, the system could be improved by having separate queues for crepes / toasted sandwiches which are freshly prepared and another for ice cream / everything else which is quicker. This was tried by the staff on a couple of occasions we were there

The pool waiter and waitresses we have to say - no issues at all always friendly and a smile…  ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 1/2 at best 

The plaza snack bar - if you are ok to queue up for 45 minutes and then be served by 2 grumpy men then you are in luck- cannot blame them 40 degree heat sweating!

For the on-site restaurants 

The snack bar (only 1) again was way over stretched big queues and minimal choice.

but they need at least 3 people in there (there is usually only 1) and the queue gets so long that more or often than not we never bothered using it.

The longest part is waiting for a golfkart to pick us up and drop us off at the room.

Did not find the queues at dinner a massive issue, had to be lucky and find the right time, and when inside the staff seemed quick enough serving guests.

although you did have to queue to be served at different stations, this is understandable and you do get used to it.

however the queue for this can get bad and my kids did have to queue sometimes for around 45 minutes for this.

We then waited another 45 mins in the queue so all in all we got to our room around 3 hours after arrival.

If a long queue, l would say go & have lunch & sit in the sun & wait a bit.

but we still had to check in at Reception and there are long queues.

The food was good and varied daily with a good choice.

We tried both a la carte restaurants as well.

We had been waiting 3 years for our holiday similar to a lot of other people so was really looking forward to it 
The hotel is clean and the rooms were spacious and well equipped we were lucky to have a swim up room 
Food was ok

The beer was ok, tasted quite watered down

Dinner was okay there was always something I could eat

The food is excellent and especially the desserts are great.

All the staff worked extremely hard to ensure the busy restaurant ran as smoothly as possible.

It was also lovely to see Aggelos looking after the main restaurant.

Lunch in the Tavern and Green and Grill was good.

The hotel is clean, the facilities are of a very high standard and the food is great.

Food - the three restaurants offer plenty of variety had no complaints here.

We enjoyed eating at the Green and Grill where you can cook your own food

I won't write a long review about each individual thing we liked., because frankly we liked everything, and to allay any concerns people may have about flies on the food- we didn't see one, the food is varied and of good quality in the main, the staff work exceptionally hard to maintain the hotel and serve guests, the beach is good, sandy after the first couple of metres, watersports good, pools lovely, slight issue with sunbed availability as people put towels out early on

however I do wonder what the alchol strength was, as one day I had about 6 large beers and If that was at home id have been well on my way.

Hotel was very clean nice rooms staff were on the whole nice with a few exceptions , not what you want on holiday !

even though we had one of the 3 restaurants outside our room .

From the ladies who clean the rooms each day and leave them spotless to the TUI team who work non stop to provide support and activities.

We all slept really well and it was very quiet in the room.

The hotel is immaculately clean throughout, both in the rooms and communal areas.

We were taken to our room by the bellboy on a golf cart along with our luggage.

Hotel Room - swim up pool was brilliant, rooms were clean and well equipped.

We were room 4002, the views were amazing.

Rooms were very clean, and had a lovely large balcony.

The waitresses in the dining room were very attentive and friendly, special mention to Lemonia and Anna Maria.

The room was lovely, very clean and decor tasteful.

The room was huge and super clean as the maids came round everyday to clean it.

Right outside our room as well so ideal for the teenagers to pop and get what they want, when they want.

All the nice musical songs with great costumes and good stories.

Entertainment was a big dissapointment for me, pretty much the same things every night, mostly directed for kids.

Entertainment was pretty good and varied.

The entertainment for the younger kids was fantastic , I found for my 11 year old son not so much more directed for the younger ones .

The evening entertainment in the amphitheatre was fun and enjoyable and catered for all ages.

My 6 and 3 year olds loved Download and the Pirate show.

My girls (aged 6 and 3) went to the kids club several days in the afternoon, from 1.30-3.00, which they absolutely loved.

Entertainment - we cannot comment as our youngest was in bed early every evening and we used our private pool throughout the day.

but not much the hotel can do about that really, the kids loved the clubs and entertainment (Download especially) and really we had a great time.

Following download you'd have a show with either the Tui Blue Team, the resident singer or from outside entertainers.

Evening entertainment 
We all really enjoyed the evening entertainment.

Entertainment was very geared for children and our son loved it.

Great evening entertainment for the children.

The outside theatre were all entertainment is stinks of raw sewage!

Evening entertainment for the kids was decent (for the kids!

The entertainment shows are really funny & they definitely entertain me at night.

Toilet in entertainment area where broken and leaking out - bad smell, water everywhere.

Unfortunately, the outdoor theatre was quite "smelly" some nights, like a sewage smell which was a bit of a deterrent.

Sewage smell around the amphitheatre was really unpleasant and meant that on a couple of evenings we left the entertainment and found somewhere else to have a drink as it was overpowering.

but they were either dirty, had cigarette holes in them OR they didn’t have any!!!

-can’t get a full selection of drinks in the restaurants, beer, wine and soft drinks only
-sewage smell in places around the hotel, tennis courts and outside entertainment in particular
-it is not cheap.

The hotel definitely needs to address that awful smell!

The floor in our room and my daughters room was filthy and cleaners did the bare minimum in cleaning the rest of the room and didn’t change our towels when we requested a change.

For £4,900 we paid from TUI there are far better hotels with decent food n no sewage smells!

Food is fly ridden it is disgusting, I have never been anywhere so bad before in my life!

He had charged me 40 Euros for the vodka when this is only 14 euros online. Disgusting!

but unfortunately there was a smell of drainage but that didn’t ruin our evenings.

It was adequate, luckily not in it much, had a very strong aroma of drains in the room and on the balcony, nauseating at times, did report to reception who addressed it with copious amounts of air freshener being sprayed.

So we are supposed to let our daughter sleep in an ants nest until they can be bothered to help. Disgusting.

.there is hand sanitizer as you enter and you are required to wear gloves and mask whilst you pick your food.

Beach is shingles not sand and full of sea weed and cigarettes not kept clean

but toasties and baguettes are plain and bread is stale.

Only other thing I would mention is that people are allowed to smoke around the pools and at the entertainment stage.. maybe it’s allowed by Greek law

The fizzy drinks from the tap all have a chemically salty smell and taste.

Be mindful of mosquitoes and take your repellent as they r nasty and lots of people walking around with bites.

The food was lovely, fresh salads, different meats and fish every night and the traditional Greek dishes were delicious, Definetely put weight on here.

That's why I go half board or bed and breakfast.

Breakfast- a plentiful choice of everything anyone could want, very efficient coffee machine and great coffee.

The all-inclusive buffet restaurant is very good with friendly, attentive staff providing table service for your drinks.

They also were really helpful in enabling me to order a delicious chocolate cake which we surprised her with in the restaurant and the staff went out of their way to help with this and box it up for us to take away.

The main symp restaurant  is where you eat breakfast at 7-10 dinner at 1-3 and tea at 6:30-9 this is just above the main bar.

The food at the hotel had a very big choice with breakfast cooked fresh and fresh fruits and cereal to bacon and eggs to French toast and fresh coffee.

Breakfast is continental and u have a variety fresh food available.

We were served raw chicken and boiled eggs that were not cooked properly either,!

There is a buffet restaurant and a restaurant which you can book 1 night of your stay and it has a special set menu which varies each night.

Cons 
Food was not always hot in the main restaurant (don’t understand how the Management keep saying temperature checks are done ) because this is a common “complaint” amongst quests ?

Spotlessly clean and masks and gloves in the buffet.

The best of everything were the breakfasts in the bar.

What we like the most is the very rich and tasty buffet menu, both for breakfast and dinner!

Nice and comfortable rooms,  very nice setting in the restaurant and good breakfast.

Breakfast was great, pools super, stuff really kind.

opposite a building noise started from 7am even on weekend
Generator next to our room which was so loud we could not hear the TV.

When the weather was poor, we sat in the bar and played games, read our books and chatted.

but the actual kids club had very limited things to play with and was no where near other kids club's than we have seen on other hotels.

We were a party of 5, - 3 adults and 2 older children.

The party consisted of myself, my wife, 2 teenaged daughters and my retired parents.

but they would rather play outside as much as possible (and us parents too).

Put us off even bothering with any of the other activities such as darts played with a board placed at chest level?

For those after the party and night life scene this hotel and area is not for you.

but I could have drunk alcoholic drinks all day and night with little effect but if paying for the same drink you got a normal measure.waitress service was the only way to get a drink it was a slow service Which left you waiting ages sometimes  for a waitress to take your order and some of them made you feel like you were a burden, you were not allowed to go to the bar for a drink and if you complained all you got was sit down the waitress will be with you soon after digitally taking your order you were then waiting ages for your drink to arrive.

Fact is that they rebuild hotel completely and that inside you will find completely new furniture and everything is tip-top (rooms are regularly and completely cleaned every day and towels are changed every two day I would say maybe even daily, plus a cleaning ladies are not so loud during their work as they were last year :)).

Only negative thing is that their maintenance ladies are very loud when they clean the rooms - if you decide to go to your room during the hot time of the day, you might find it difficult to sleep if they clean rooms near by !?

The music was loud and awful till 2.40 a.m. We went to reception to complain about the noise,

The food is excellent with a great choice at every sitting and is mostly Greek style which we loved, we can have burgers chips and pizza at home if we want,

The food is lovely, plenty of choice for everyone.

Excellent hotel staff amazing and surrounding area 5star - unfortunately food only 3star as it was cold ( often the way in greece) next time will go b&b and walk down to the beach to eat at many bars .Beaches and sea perfect free beds with drinks at bars.

The restaurant staff were fabulous and attentive.

We ate in the a la carte restaurant one night and Zsisi really made the evening a memorable experience treating us to the best service.

We spent a lot of moneyatthat hotel on watered down beer and cToca cola

but the Greek food was amazing , something for everyone.

The bar and restaurant staff are brilliant, especially Zissis and John Pascal, and a mention to Dennis who expressed his condolences when our Queen died.

As part of the package, we dined in the A La Carte restaurant twice while we were there.

Very nice location, green surroundings , fresh sea air, rooms spacoius and modern , staff friendly, Adam , Denis, Katherina Manager, we were there on HF food very good, compliments to the Cheff, suggestion for 4* hotel, serve One bottle of water with dinner to every table , cost of 2.5eur/bottle is not going to bring to Hotel much profit,

Great variety of food and well presented rooms.

The staff were very good especially the young man who was in the dining room at lunch time and he worked in the a'lacarte restaurant.

The food is excellent, very tasty, always fresh and various, from soup, pasta, salads, vegetables to meat and fish dishes.

Perfectly located near the beautiful beachfront and the food is of a decent standard.

but always managed to find food for us and the kids at every meal.

I cannot fault the food manager and hotel manager who was always checking everything every day.

this hotel is simply wonderful it is spotlessly clean in all areas, the rooms the pool area and the gardens are all wonderful.

We stayed for a week at the philoxina Hotel and we had a good check in, room wasn't ready

The rooms were modern and very clean on our arrival.

The room was a good size, comfy bed, pillows a little too bulky for us.

We got to our lovely room and found 4 triple decker sandwiches and an apple each.

We had a pool view room on the first floor and it was modern, immaculately clean, and quiet.

We were especially impressed at how efficient the pool bar staff were 🤗
We had a first floor room overlooking the small pool which was very peaceful.

We all had ground floor rooms with pool view and would highly recommend paying a little extra to get the pool-view rooms.

but it was absolutely fantastic as even at the pool view rooms, staff came round frequently to take our orders.

We were shown to our room by the conceirge who again offered to carry our bags, which was kind of him.

Our room was clean, newly furbished, spacy with two beds and baby bed.

We had a fab holiday here,staying half board with a pool view room.

Our room was amazing and clean, really beautiful space to stay!

Some food was left in our room, as we had missed the evening dinner.

We stayed here for 2 weeks from the 9th June and had an amazing holiday.lovely rooms and cleaned so good with wonderful grounds also well kept.

I spoke to the manager on leaving and told him the hotel and all the staff himself included are a credit to themselves and should be very proud of what they are doing, many thanks for a great time and keep up the great work, we will surely be back again.

The staff were fantastic, hardworking lovely people.
