We would have been happier if there was air conditioning in the rooms (travelled with another couple).

There was no air conditioning in the room and it was very hot.

There were a couple of small minor points, our room did not have aircon like most Austrian hotels so was quite uncomfortable in the heat,

It's a corner unit which faces the lake on one side and the unused dock on the other.

One of the only places I've ever been to where one can pay upwards of $500 a night and still sleep in sweltering conditions.

I would start with a caveat that it isn't perfect and if it was it probably would be too stuffy for us.

First, our room didn't have air conditioning or fun for the hot days.

Various reasons were suggested and ultimately we were given a noisy fan to use.

We obviously survived the night with no A/C and it was fixed the next morning.

The only unpleasant point was that the central heating remained completely cold during all 3 days.

They also allowed room ventilation which is important given the lack of a/c.

but unfortunately there was maintenance work ongoing in the block and the heating wasn't working.

Also, it was hot when we were there and no screens, no AC meant bugs came in with the open window - shutting it was too stuffy to sleep. As usual in this area, bring your own shampoo and conditioner as they do not provide any - just the "body and hair soap."

The lake room had eaves type structures with furniture cleverly placed and when the balcony could not be used made the room rather small, the bathroom was very small (fans did not work) and not suitable for people above average size.

The only thing you can do is ask for a fan.

One thing these hotels are not equipped with is that they do not have aircondition or fans.

There is no air conditioning which can make for hot rooms.

no steam, just not so hot towels to open up the pores, the "microdermabrasion" was not really effective, with the thinly applied 10-12 minute mask I was left alone for 20 minutes, so that the skin really felt dried up and when she asked if she should correct the eye-brows, she did not mention that 8 euros would be charged on top.

As mentioned, the corridor outside reeked of damp, and the room was only habitable by keeping the window open and using an electric fan.

The shower area was like a grotto with twinkling lights in the ceiling and three options of cooling off(shower, plunge, mist).

Well located and pretty easy to get about without needing a car, we managed Hallstatt and Salzburg easily.

The friendly front staff will guide in full details using a map where your room is located and where you can park your car.

From the minute we drew up in our car we were looked after by the efficient, friendly and oh so helpful staff. Our room (50 again!)

I was taken rather than just directed to a garage where I could park the car.

At the end of the stay the car and luggage were again efficiently organised.

We travelled to St.Wolfgang by car and had a parking space assigned to us behind the apartment.

Whilst we parked the car in their secure car park (about 7 minutes walk away) our cases had been taken to our room (46).

+ Mr. Hans, who was both helpful in carrying the luggage and parking the car.

Some staff are extremely professional and warm such as Doris, Martin and an old staff who took great care of getting our car and helping us with bags.

Singles are usually consigned  to a broom cupboard with a view of the trash cans and car park - not here.

Parking is available at a cost and a car is needed.

Examples: park your own car in the garage, blocks away, rain or sunshine.

You have to use the car park at the other end of the tunnel and walk back.

They have an outside floating pool anchored in the lake, 15 meters long, heated at 30 degrees- great fun to swim.

St Wolfgang is really lovely - we watched the band that played in front of the hotel 3 times during our stay and took part in the local food and drink evening that was on whilst we were there which was great fun.

Outstanding pools and of course the lake, with paddle and slide boats, made the vacation very family friendly.

Excellent location right by the lake and yet in the center of the town with its own heated pool and perfect beach service.

We also used the spa and pool areas which were just perfect.

Excellent location, world-class setting of pool and spa directly at lake-front, exquisite dining with beautiful "Zitter" live music and lake-view.

The hilights of the place is for sure the heated pool

The facilities we used were also beautiful - the outdoor pool area in particular was a real treat.

Excellent experience, cleanliness is second to none, hotel staff are so polite, helpful and professional.They speak perfect English as well as German.The spa is perfection, outside heated pool, and heated jacuzzi are amazing, The hotel is perfectly situated in an outstanding area at Wolfgangsee, with a panoramic views of the mountains and the lake.Cuisine experience is a winner, fresh ingredients and professional chefs, made The Whole experience unforgettable.

The swimming pools - indoor and in the lake were wonderful.

The floating swimming pool is a lovely experience, and if the weather is poor then the indoor pool provides a nice place to relax.

The suite was lovely with a perfect lake view, great spa and pool facilities, very friendly, cheerful staff.

What a lovely hotel, apparently it has grown and is formed from nine adjacent chalets - it has a fantastic location, the rear of the hotel goes out onto the lake with a super outdoor swimming pool, jacuzzi and sun deck, the front of the hotel faces the town square and faces up the main square, the hotel is really nice with friendly and helpful staff most of which speak good English.

The infinity pool and hot tub are fabulous right on the lake.

The swimming pool and the jacuzzi next to the lake are wonderful.

The swimming pool area is just wonderful with the ability to swim inside or outside in the pool or even in the lake.

The lake and the pool were just what we required after 6 very hot days of motorcycling.

We enjoyed the beautiful view of the lake, the lovely swimming pool in the lake and the small town.

Finally after a wonderful day what can beat the experience of a swim in the outside, heated pool set in the lake, under the stars, surrounded by mountain as the snow falls around you.

It was a pleasure to enjoy  the heated outdoor pool and whirlpool with such views and  when outside was cold.

In addition, they have several pools and a large spa area to choose from.

All was going very well until the last two nights of our stay which focused on extremely poor service from the restaurant.

but I'm afraid the choice of food on offer left a lot to be desired, particularly the breakfast which we considered to be very poor.I'm afraid I would not recommend this hotel as poor value for money, it does have however a wonderful position in the centre of St Wolfgang with wonderful views of the lake.

but the rooms are poor and old and the bed is not comfortable for 320-420 euro per night.

It also had a poor view of the lake despite having booked a lake view room at extra cost.

Wi-Fi connection I found to be surprisingly poor with online video unwatchable.

Don't be put off by poor English translations on the website.

Sleep quality was poor due to the windows having woefully inadequate blinds.

We didn't have poor service; rather there was no service.

The buffet style for most of the week was poor in choice, slow to be replenished and sometimes not at all.

Outside main meal times, the offering is appallingly poor – a choice of a 14 Euro club sandwich, or a cheese toastie or two thin frankfurters and a slice of bread. Disgraceful.

but service was very poor as in general was all the staff at front desk and the snobby owners.

In the 7 nights we were there, the meat course was 'boiled beef' on 2 occasions which was quite a poor dish for this class of establishment & veal on 2 other evenings.

and the one evening meal we had in the restaurant was very good, if a little over priced.

It is unfortunate that the menu dinner costs +40 EUR / person + drinks (the same applies to kids), what we found rather expensive.

Very expensive for something i could’ve got from a supermarket.

You can park at front temporarily unload or pick up your luggage and park at a specified car park area with a fee.

Here, a bit formal if not to say stiff (matching the prices, see below).

We had breakfast there only one morning (as it is not included in the price of the apartment)

but the bigger cost was having one's Christmas ruined.

We were not fased by the rather high rate [ almost US$ 400)

but also VERY expensive one, which means that we mostly ate elsewhere.

However, the non air-conditioned ones seem to be as astronomically priced as the other ones.

Yes it is expensive and it isn't perfect -

but there are a few of them and they are very expensive !

Hotel has a gourmet restaurant which we thought looked a bit old school (we didn't investigate by dining) + had Michelin prices without the stars.

We of course came for the famous hotel on the lake and not for the far away place in the second lane off the lake! The only way not to fully waste our anniversary plans was to pay a hefty upgrade fee (double the price!)

We really did not expect this to happen when we booked an “emperors room” at a rate of approx.

I think if we hadn't paid so much for the room we would have been much happier with the service and facilities.

Considering how low the occupancy was and what we had paid, this was disappointing (I think our hotel room number was 63).

The servers at the restaurant were outstanding, providing lots of kids' activities, and the staff was generous and welcoming throughout.

The restaurant was overlooking the lake and as a package customer we ate breakfast and dinner there.

Do not hesitate to take the full pension to benefit from a high quality food.

Service at evening dinner was exceptional.

We enjoyed a beatyfull accomodation in cousy room, large spa and great breakfasts and dinners.

Stayed for our usual annual holiday in January and the hotel is as good as ever and the food was excellent both breakfast and dinner.

We stayed at this hotel in early September, 2019 and loved the setting, the view of the lake from our balcony, the room, food and overall experience.

The staff were fantastic and the food was excellent, with a good choice of vegetarian dishes.

The choice of food at the breakfast buffet is staggering and with the chef preparing omelettes, eggs etc with such panache breakfast is a pleasure.

To the contrary hotel staff at the reception and the breakfast/dinner restaurant were very helpful and polite.

Breakfast was good with lots of pics options, great drinks, a lovely dinner.

NOT a true representation of fine Austrian cuisine at all.

(Gabriel too must come in as a mention here for his bright, bubbly, enthusiastic service - all delivered in a most professional, heart-warming fashion:)

We also savoured the tastes and sights of the Fischhaus Restaurant on  our last evening.

The owner is a friendly host meeting and greeting a champagne breakfast on Sunday mornings with piano music been played in the restaurant there is also a cocktail hour prior to dinner one evening again hosted by the owner.

Plenty of towns to visit , highly recommend the steam train up into the mountains fabulous view .The food is amazing lots of choices .

Great room with space for our kids (7, 5, 3).

Lovely room with a nice view of village square, Calvary Church and the Schafberg.

I really wish we had been in that lovely room overlooking the lake for all of our stay.

We greatly appreciated the room upgrade, and enjoyed its comforts and beautiful lake and mountains view.

but some rooms are renovated (we stayed in a renovated one).

I had a beautiful room with a balcony overlooking the lake.

The views from the rooms over Wolfgangsee are beautiful.

For a room of some €400 a night one would expect better standards.

Our room was beautifully appointed, immaculately clean, uncluttered and wholly complete - with a stunning view over the Wofgangsee from a rather nicely proportioned balcony.

Rooms are fabulous with wooden balcony with fabulous views.

These well apponted rooms next door to each other, and being the only rooms on that floor for the section of the hotel we were in, suited us perfectly.

Staff attentive at all times and service excellent throughout the hotel.

A completely carefree stay, the staff fulfilled all wishes.

It was nice to see the hotel owner working alongside her team, I’m guessing there were staff shortages due to the pandemic.

The rooms close to the church tower will be disturbed by the bells ringing every 15 minutes during the night!!

The staff were always kind and courteous, and every request was greeted with a smile.

Everyone at the hotel is extremely welcoming, friendly and will go out of their way to make your stay just that little bit more special.

A cosy and comfortable hotel, with friendly and efficient staff who go out of their way to help the guests.

Top quality hotel and restaurant, very nice location on the Wolfgangsee lake, one of the best trained personal I experienced and very present owner/manager.

The whole Weissen Rossl team make you very welcome and cannot do enough to make sure you have a great stay.

They arranged a carriage drive for us and were very helpful.

Every one of the staff me feel welcome and could not be more helpful.

The service and the people make you feel welcomed and the views are breath taking it truly is magnificent.

There was a TV in the room with one English Channel (BBC world news).

Additional requests for an iron, early 7am breakfast on one occasion and the free loan of a DVD player (English news channels only provided) were very speedily met.

We visited all the surrounding villages by ferry, the cog railway and took the cable cr from St Gilgen.

It was fun to watch the movies about it plus Sound of Music on the hotels TV channel.

The family room was spacious and the kids loved their room that also had a TV!

There were also big, fuzzy blankets to drape over you while you lounged and admired the beautiful lake view-very nice touch!

They even play the Sound of Music on their in-house channel.

Still an exceptional place to spend time at a stunning alpine lake.

Right on the lake with spectacular views.

The breadth taking picturesque lake view surrounded by mountains is unforgettable and worth the hefty price we paid.

The White Horse Inn commands a perfect location overlooking Lake Wolfgansee with a backdrop of majestic snowcapped mountains beyond.

The setting of the hotel and the apartments is just beautiful - the views are extraordinary.

But the lack of a residents lounge and bar is a shortcoming, given the changeable weather in St. Wolfgang, and there really needs to be a hot drink making facility in the rooms.

We scheduled a boat ride starting at their beach area dock to go around the lake and Teddy was the perfect tour guide and clearly very proud of his town.

The private beach was amazing and the hostess were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel has an amazing lakeside beach area (about 200m walk from the hotel) which we enjoyed very much.

Within moments I had hiking routes, biking routes, and dining recommendations well in hand as well as access to a private beach.

Lovely private beach 5 minutes down the road, food and drinks available; super views.

The lake/ beach has a snack bar & is about 5 minutes walk away.

The hotel has its own private beach area on the lake with sun beds, towels and a small bar.

The hotel has a great location, love the private waterfront area and the staff are really helpful.

Our three boys loved the hotel's private beach on the lake - especially the paddle boards.

Pros: Very large rooms, comfortable beds, clean, excellent breakfast, beach area, free wifi.

We like the private beach of the hotel very much.

We will certainly come back as the kids thought this was better than a beach holiday in Spain and we found it so relaxing.

We took advantage of the hotel's water front beach area one day, and had a fabulous time waterskiing and paddle boarding.

Added to this, the private beach and bar were lovely, including a well kept lawn, which I preferred to lie on more than the recliners.

but sufficient and we were lucky enough to be at St Wolfgang during the Red Bull airshow, which we were not expecting, and the beach was the perfect location from which to watch the spectacle.

We were also under the impression that the private beach and bar were part of the hotel not across the road through the field and along the lakeside road.

We did make one day by the lake at the hotels beach

We used the beach area and had a super trip on the lake in the speed boat with the hotel's owner, Teddy Furian.

The private beach was just a short walk from the Hotel with a selection of reasonably priced drinks and snacks.

Clean,staff excellent,rooms superb, lovely lakeside beach area and food was delicious.

Breakfast was superb- I’ve never had so much to choose from and all brought on a lovely cake stand.

The staff were friendly and helpful, our room had everything we wanted and breakfast was brilliant.

The free morning breakfast is typical for the area with exceptional coffee and a lovely terrace on which to dine in good weather.

Buffet breakfast is served at the restaurant on the ground level.

We had an amazing family suite which was just  like having our own apartment and  all enjoyed the wide choice of food available at breakfast each morning.

Breakfast was rich and good quality, served in the terrace of the hotel with a very nice view.

You have access to the water and breakfast was enjoyable.

Stayed here for 10 nights, Good average continental breakfast, afternoon tea & cake if you wish.

The breakfast was the best that we had experienced in Austria!

Service was excellent and the food delicious.

The evening meal is waitress service with a buffet salad with two choices for starters, mains and deserts with allergies clearly marked.

Breakfasts were healthy with lots of fresh fruit and nuts to go with lovely breads, jams, cold meats and cheeses,There was a nice choice of evening meal and we found the puddings particularly good and different.

The evening meal selection is made at breakfast and you get an option of 2 starters, mains and desert.

Breakfast is buffet style, with eggs and bacon as well as the usual continental meats, cheeses, confectionary and fruit, which should be adeqaute for most people.

There is no residents lounge and the week I was there (mid June) the lakeside area was never open

Should this occur whilst at the Hotel Furian then you will find there is no hotel lounge and the standard bedroom only has one armchair so there is nowhere to make yourselves comfortable - a major drawback if you wish to relax and read.

We stayed at the Furian on a winter holiday booked through Crystal ski and our only slight negative is that we would have appreciated a lounge area (can't sit out on balcony in winter),

We had two small 'niggles'--the hotel does not have a lounge so there is nowhere to socialise if the weather is not warm enough to sit on the outside terrace, and it would be nice if one could make a cup of tea or coffee when you return after an evening out.

No separate lounge so you only really socialised at meal times.

There was no real lounge in which to relax, and the family are trying to extend to accomodate this.

The only downside to this hotel is the lack of a lounge area, where you get together and chat after dinner, this is not a problem in the warmer summer months as you can sit out on the terrace, Teddy is looking into this and hopefully will find a sollution soon.

Only fault we could find was the lack of any lounge area to retire to after dinner.

The hotel only has a small bar and limited lounge / restaurant so we did miss this facillity to be able to meet other guests for a drink and a chat,

The only thing lacking was a cosy lounge--there was nowhere to sit & relax after a good dinner--but that curtailed our post-dinner cognacs/schnapps.

The only drawback was that there was no lounge where one could sit during inclement weather 9of which we had plenty during my stay).

You could also choose from the extensive coffee and tea menu plus the varied cooked options.

Food is nice and service is very good too.

Wish we could have stayed when Hotel Furian did offer evening dinner.

At night, there was a fantastic atmosphere in the town with Austrian dancing or music in the main square and some great restaurants.

The dining room girls were excellent with their service and the food was very enjoyable.
