I can see why this is the highest rated bed and breakfast in Alpbach.

Our two rooms had spectacular views of the village, they were absolutely spotless and the beds were extremely comfortable.

Martina is so sweet and ensures your massage is exactly what you need after some aches and pains of skiing.

We stayed in Apartments 4/5 which included a double bed and queen bed with a small kitchen, balcony, and a great view.

I could definitely advise the apartments to a big family with kids or to a company of young couples who come to the area to ski or hike, since there are two bedrooms and also a bed in the living room.

Wonderful Bed and Breakfast located outside of Alpbach.

The rooms are spotlessly clean, the beds incredibly comfortable and breakfast is hearty and fresh.

For us, B&B Bergwald is probably the best place to stay at in Alpbach if you like things quiet (it is away from the town center) and wish to enjoy the wonderful views of the surrounding mountains.

It takes about 5 minutes' drive to reach the centre of Alpbach and as a result is wonderfully quiet with amazing views over the surrounding mountains and down on to Alpbach village.

It is set among picture postcard beauty, emerald  green farmland, mountains in the distance, cows grazing - their bells making soft music, on a relatively quiet road.

but it is worth it for the views and quiet.

This is the perfect place for those who love peace and quiet, fabulous walking, and need a beautifully appointed B&B, well equipped for walkers, with a really caring hostess.

The peace, the quiet and the warmth of the hospitality is all you need for a fabulous holiday.

Our room was quiet and sleeping restfully came with ease.

Although the area was covered with high clouds for much of our stay, the winds were calm and the quiet and solitude was remarkable.

It is located a bit outside of the village, so very quiet (a 20-or so minutes walk from the village center).

The slopes were fairly quiet after 5th Jan, I think the children all went back to school around this time perhaps.

If you search a place for quiet vacation, Bergwald is the place for you.

It is so quiet and the guests in the Haus are always so lovely.

Katarina operates an honesty bar which is well stocked and prices are good. Our first night was a bit disturbed by a group of lively gents making the most of the warm weather and enjoying drinks outside 'til the early hours

If you need a dinner reservation anywhere or a recommendation it is immediately organised and all of her recommendations reached the same very high standards as Bergwald itself.

Katharina is an excellent host:  customer oriented, full of hospitably, provided us precious information about the restaurants, the ski slopes and the surroundings.

The food at breakfest is like a 5 star hotel.

Ski resort is about a 5 minute drive down the village, there are plenty of restaurants in the village, it is beautiful to walk around.

Breakfast was extensive - lots of fresh food with egg options.

Hospitality of the host, frau Moser is beyond describing, the place itself is very neat, hygiene is of the highest level, breakfast very tasty and for all tastes.

Katherina recommends a restaurant run by her family called Rossmos (not sure I am spelling it correctly) which is a 3 minute walk from the property.

The village is a bit of a hike and we found it best to go by car if eating there in the evening.

From ensuring we had everything we needed for breakfast, to letting us know about local events and places to see, to organising restaurant reservations.

It has a large restaurant with huge outdoor decking, tables chairs, lounges.

We took her recommendation of eating our dinners at the nearby Rossmoos restaurant a few minutes walk down the road and we would highly recommend that.

but the walk back after a lovely meal out is beautiful and not a drawback at all.

The kitchen has all you need to cook an evening meal,

A full beverage pantry was a blessed convenience.

Restaurant Rossmoos nearby is closest and offers beautiful views over the valley.

We enjoyed an authentic Austrian dinner at the Roosmoos, as recommended and were very pleased!!

And great breakfast with genuine scrambled eggs and a spread range of local fresh delicious foods, like  cheese, bread, milk, yoghurt, fruits and much more.

The Rossmoos restaurant, just 10 minutes up the road is an excellent place for dinner, we recommend the venison with cranberry sauce and red cabbage. .

Our room was clean and comfortable with a lovely balcony and the breakfast service was just excellent.

The PostAlm by the bus stop is a great pub for a post piste drink before dinner.

The bus stop is about 200 metres from the hotel and near to Conny’s ski rental shop.

5 mins walk to the ski bus stop and less than a 10 minute bus ride to the main gondola.

This means you only have a few metres to walk in your ski boots between here and the bus stop where buses run approx.

The hotel is located right in the centre of the village, very near to the ski bus stop and a lovely bar.

The location of Haus Andreas is good as it is close to the village centre and the ski bus stop.

Great food - unbeatable location - we walked a few meters up the hill to beat the crowds at the "main" ski bus stop.

Location is also excellent - right in the centre of the village, and just a few yards walk from the ski bus stop and ski hire shop.

The location is excellent, only a short walk to the bus stop, Conny's rental shop and some nice pubs, namely the Post Alm.

The ski school was in the floor above, the ski renting shop less than 100 yards away and the bus stop to the slopes right outside our door !

The location was 100m from the center of Seefeld and very close to the bus stop that goes to the mountain.

The Ski bus stops more or less at the door and runs regularly.

The location is fantastic, less than a minute to the bus stop and pubs.

The local ski hire shops were very helpful and reasonable priced (with 10% discount for cash) and the ski bus stop is very close to the hotel.

The haus is located in the centre of the village - handy for bars and bus stops.

Breakfast is self-service with a choice of cold meats, cheeses, fruit, cereals or a hot option of sausages, bacon and scrambled eggs.

but this is only open during dinner as the room is locked up at all other times.This means that if you arrive back at four o clock and want a cold drink to relax, it is not possible.

but was too cold to leave boots overnight so we brought them back to the hotel.

In our room, we were left a cold plate (meat,cheese, bread, boiled eggs, jam) and a bottle of wine, which was fine.

The first night was cold, second day they switched on the heater.

Breakfasts were typically Austrian with masses of choice for hot or cold dishes with cold meats, cheeses and fruit.

The staff are all very friendly and helpful.

The staff in the Restaurant are VERY efficient and friendly , the standard of meals throughout the week was excellent and the breakfast buffet has something for everyone.

The staff are helpful and super friendly and the food is excellent.

There are a handful of bars/restaurants to enjoy a well earned post mountain beer or wine and everyone is really friendly and helpful.

One final point, the hosts are so friendly and helpful that they really made our holiday!

The owners and staff are all very friendly and the food is amazing, with 3 courses each night (and a choice of 3 mains).

Re the skiing, there is a lovely boot room with boot warmers located in Haus Rossstall (also owned by Andreas and Madeleine) back up the driveway and next to the main village road.

We stayed for a family skiing holiday and thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Albach itself is a beautiful little place with plenty of skiing for the beginner and a couple of shops/pubs,

The skiing was brilliant plenty of snow and when you came back the ski and boot room was very good with heated pipes so your boots were nice and dry for the next day's skiing, we all had a brilliant time here and we would love to go back, highly recommended.

Six of us have just spent a week's skiing at Hans Andreas, and would thoroughly recommend it.

It has everything we needed for our week skiing.

The food is great and just what you need after a days skiing.

I have just returned form a week in Alpbach skiing and would fully recommend the Haus Andreas.

in all a fantastic holiday in a great guesthouse,pretty tradional village and lovely skiing on well maintained slopes.

Just returned from a weeks skiing holiday, just one word sums it up - fantastic.

Have just come back from a week's skiing, staying at Haus Andreas.

The skiing here is very good, the slopes are quiet and well maintained.

We could not fault our week skiing stay with them for cleanliness, location, food or anything.

Room was spacious with a great view of the mountains, balcony and bath with piping hot water - perfect after a day's skiing.

Only issue is the bath which is small and has a shower attachment at a low level with no higher hook to enable you to stand and shower without holding the shower.

although it had a large comfortable bed, it had insufficient lighting and the bathroom was tiny and again very poor lighting.

I stayed there for one week and during this period they did not clean my room, change the towels, add shampoo and shower gel in spite of my requests for several times.

There was also a used soap envelope on the towel rails (may be the owner of the hair didn't see it).

but don’t expect new towels or sheets during the week.

but bearable :) ) 

Rooms were tidied promptly every morning, but they don't vacuum during the week as far as I noticed, or replace towels or bedlinen unless requested.

Ended up at the hotels See bar situated opposite the hotel for a chill G&T - they had heaters for the coolers nights.

Our only complaint and it was a pain, is that there is no air con in the bedroom.

There is no air conditioning which wasn't a problem in June,

but here are a few minor suggestions to the owners which I hope you take in the spirit they are intended:

(1) Air conditioning in the rooms would be welcome on hot and humid days
(2)  A Maître d "walking" the restaurant and bar floor/front of house would ensure that service levels could be improved upon.

We were there at the end of june/beginning of july and it was still very cold at night and one of the days when it rained nonstop it was absolutely freezing!

Some bikes and e-bikes also available in the hotel - ask at reception.

The hotel also free hire bicycles, the owner taught us how to drive a Segway,

Mountain bikes were free to use at the hotel too.

The hotel had bikes you could borrow and we took these out a couple of days to explore further afield.

The bikes were new, well maintained and free.

Cable cars up mountains, boat rides, motor boat hire, free bike hire from the hotel, or lots of benches and cafes overlooking the lake for us 'oldies'.

The "Wellness Area" (or leisure club in English) was open from early morning till late evening (10pm), the free bike hire was most welcome

We round around the like on the cycle path, which was a beautiful route.

The hotel also has a nice indoor/outdoor swimming pool and a gym and provides free of charge good quality bikes.

There are a variety of bikes available, with helmets also provided, and we used these extensively to cycle around the lake and venture up the nearby valleys.

The hotel has extensive facilities - indoor and outdoor pool, wellness suite, bikes (no additional charge), together with a range of daily activities that are offered by the hotel - segway tours, sailing, walking.

The hotel tends to undersell itself as a wide range of bikes were available for use free of charge: they were all in excellent condition.

Other good points include the indoor and outdoor pools, plentiful food, free bike hire, good draught beer and friendly staff -

This luxuary hotel situated in Achensee offers great view (the hotel is on the edge of the lake), spacious and clean rooms, great shower and much other great stuff like free bike rental.

We took advantage of the free bike hire from the hotel.

The hotel can arrange bikes, sailing, diving, and once a week escorted family walks.

but guests' ages ranged from about 5 to 75 while I was here.

Think due to the clients whilst I was there the evening entertainment was not for me

The bath house is open to all guests with only therapeutic treatments costing extra.

but we did have a look at what seemed to be top quality equipment well used by other guest.

The approximate age of the other guests was well over 70 which did make myself and my boyfriend feel a bit out of place (being 26 and 31 respectively)

although music was audible from the bar until after midnight some nights.

But they shut it around midnight and since than, there was total dark in the room - i enjoyed it greatly as there are not many such situations in my life when the dark is the same if you open or close your eyes.

In fairness, I have to say that our room was spotlessly clean and we had no problem.

The maid was excellent -  our room was kept spotlessly clean, and was always ready as soon as breakfast was over!

The staff were pleasant and helpful, and we had the use of two swimming pools, spa, sauna, wellness room, etc. etc.

but the hotel has fantastic facilities ranging from exceptional spa (both family and adult only) including a sauna that overlooks the lake with a spectacular view and calming rooms, to organised walks and classes.

There is also the usual spa, sauna and wellness centre.

The hotel has two heated pools,  indoor and  outdoor, a gym, sauna and exercise studio.

Several dry saunas over looking the lake.

There were a couple of saunas with lovely views onto the lake.

The sauna is reasonable with 3 nice saunas and lots of relaxing space.

), wonderful swimming pools, spa and fitness centre etc etc.

This will give you unlimited access (for one week) to the Karwendl and Rofan cable cars, the tourist boats that sail around the Lake, the steam train to and from Jenbach, bus from Pertisau to Maurach and the mining museum in Pertisau.

We also had facility of making our free packed lunches from the breakfast bar.-great for taking on our walks.Hotel had 2 pools and spa facilities and full range of activities.- aqua gymnastics fantastic.

although I admit it's the first spa I've been in so don't have anything to compare it to!

Book massages in advance (which I didn't unfortunately).

You can sail or swim in the lake, take a steam train or the ferry to take in the wonderful scenery.
