There are only very limited shopping, restaurant and bar choices within close walking distance.

Was greeted at the front desk without a single smile, and after 22h a bouncer bars the entrance of the hotel to check you're on the list.

For diner they have a good restaurant with a decent bar.

It´s not so near to the typical local handcraft fair and most of restaurants and bars, if you look for fun time. Deuce!

The location makes it very attractive, the kilometer long beach is just across the road and a few hundred meters to the right a beach market and countless restaurants and bars can be found.

I got assigned room #1713 which had a fantastic view of the beach and ocean.

We came in early and got checked inn right away rooms are very spacious staff very friendly we felt at home the food was great really tasty it’s the third time I’ve and still the best the pool and jacuzzi made it really great to finish the day after a long day at the beach i recommended this hotel

The hotel is located directly on the beach and had a great view from the side balcony.

Beside that very unacceptable exception, the service was friendly, the room was nice, It was in a good neighborhood and right on the beach.

The whole beach area is excellent for walks - even in the "dark hours" as the Rua Adolfo Caminha and Av.

Location is very good, breakfast is just at the beach, and prime location for a walk.

The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful.

Personnel is friendly and helpfull if something needs to be oranised.

The woman who works checking in for breakfast is also so friendly and helpful!

The staff are very attentive and friendly, the rooms are immaculate, the views from the ocean side are breathtaking and bring you a sense of peace and serenity one must experience!

The staff was very friendly and most of them spoke English.

Value for money first of all, and as ever a very helpfull, cortious and friendly staff who most of them speaks at least some english.The breakfast is a feast on its own.

Coffee machine does not work properly at breakfast and it creates huge Q.

However things seemed to be a little confusing: on the same small place of lavatory, there was a small fridge, some snacks and coffee machine.

The only suggestion that I have for the hotel would be to please get an ice machine for the guests use.

There had been an unsuccessful attempt at partly updating décor at some time in the past

The hotel including the rooms are very outdated, this is no standard Holiday Inn IHG quality that I’m used to.

As far as the room is concerned, a bit outdated

Even if i am writing on behalf of my family, i can confirm the judge of the others is the same.

He then saw my spouse and told me that I would have to pay an extra $40 BRL per night for my spouse, because my reservation (booked directly through IHG) indicated one adult.

By the way the hotel was not half booked next day.

[BTW: My daughter booked the same and reported an even worse experience.  ]

I guess the hotel was fully booked, so in the morning there was often a queue to get a table for breakfast.

My room was huge, with two double beds, a couch and a desk.

The pool is OK and you can get a beachtowel at the front desk and walk 50 meters to swim in the ocean.

The people of the hotel had been very polite, and did help optimising our stay there, having then the time for visiting the city and enjoying the seaside at the "Playa du Futuru" 20min from the hotel by taxi.

The reception staff is attentive and helpful.

There was absolutely no attempt at helping us at all.

The manager was very apologetic and understanding.

This seafront hotel is probably the best accommodation in Fortaleza if you are not looking for a resort.

A great location, right across the road from what felt like one of the safer areas on the beachfront.

A good hotel, food customer service, nice location near to prai futura beach, with good restaurants around, the breakfast is delicious and the room clean and with good A/C.

The beach just across the (torn up) street in front of the hotel hosts a street fair/flea market frequented by locals and tourists alike.

So, thieves walk around the beach day and night looking for their next target.

Smart rooms, smart lobby, friendly service, well-situated on the beach with decent restaurants nearby, good breakfast - this hotel ticks all the boxes you need.

This hotel in front of the beach offers you an excellent service and room.

This hotel is also close to the giant market on the beach.

The hotel is located in front of the beach and with many restaurants around where you can find from subway, Mac Donald’s or if you prefer a special restaurants.

Plus points were location on the beach, polite service and good breakfast

The hotel is perfect for who want to stay in fortaleza because it is in front of the sea near the famous feirinha and a short way by car the futuro beach.

The location is excellent, directly on the beachfront.

Another reason we enjoyed our stay at the Grand Marquise Hotel so much is the fact it is located right across the street from Iracema Beach and a walking distance to several divine restaurants and bars in the area.

Finally, the location is great, in one of the most noble addresses in Fortaleza, with beautiful views of the beach and the port.

Located in a fantastic place, just in front of the beach, beside Coco Bambu Restaurant e around 5 min walking from crafts fair.

The lobby looks very old fashion, really noisy, cold and dark.

My only criticism would be TV channels all in Portuguese with exception of CNN which let's not kid ourselves it's very boring.Also water temperature was very strange, in the afternoon there was no cold water at all and in the morning shower it was either boiling hot water or cold no in between. Apart from that we had a great stay and we loved the variety of foods for breakfast including Champagne :-)

AC system ok (i prefer to sleep in cold temperature and unfortunately system did not refrigerate below 23 degrees celsius).

You can't turn the hot water on in the shower even if cold water is totally open.

The rooms are very comfortable, spacious, great matratze, super king size bed.

Our room was comfortable with a great view of the beach and active day and night Brazilian life .

The hotel was renovated for the soccer world cup games, and does provide big comfortable rooms.

I am writing to you because I tried to withdraw money (150 BRL) at the encounter of the hotel and the woman said that my card was rejected and didn't give me any money back.

but they always have some availables (do not accept amex, but accept other debit cards).

Outstanding staff, very warm and professional, specially the staff on duty on the eve of August 10, who solved my problem when leaving for the airport at midnight with no cash to pay for the taxi ride (to have in mind, taxis to the airport do not usually accept credit card as taxis from the airport, so keep some 50/55 Reais for the ride back to airport!).

but as we were doing it they were also trying to charge another guest for the same thing.

Friendly staff, good bar, and restaurant and very good breakfast.

The staff are warm and friendly, the management are corteous and professional whilst creating an atmosphere that feels like home.

The staff was also very friendly and helpful.

This was my second stay and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Mariana who helped incredibly in booking a car service to Jericoacoara.

Friendly and helpful staff already at entrance, I had some problem with the taxi visa terminal they where really helpful so I got in.

Price of the hotel is ok for the services,

The rooms are extremely comfortable from the ac to bed quality, breakfast is fresh and the variety is there, the service is great.

The view is great and the service from the bar is superb.

Service is spot on - rooms are cleaned and tidied every morning, so if you get back to your room early in the day it's ready.

I was a Flight Service Director for an international airline (37 years) and feel eminently qualified to give a review on customer service and hotels.

Extra touches like turndown service give it competitive edge.

although they have the laundry service and no TV in other languages than Portuguese.

Despite being from an unknown brand, it does provide good service and good amenities.

Worm welcome even it is late evening, fast service, in 5 min I'm in the room.

The service at the hotel was very good, staff is very nice, food is good.

The breakfast is delicious and all the staff of the hotel is very nice and service- mind.

The reception staff are exemplary with 2 charming young ladies & up to three men.

Staff knew our names bc we stayed there for 5 days on and off.

The staff were all amazing, all of them were happy to go the extra mile for you whatever the request, in perfect English no less.

The rooms are great, the place is always clean and the bar (specially on weekends) full of travellers to meet and share a caipirinha (or more) with.

Perfect place to stay if you want to enjoy fun evenings, drinking caipirinhas and socialize at the bar in the hostel.

but the best part is the bar : the free caipi every night (plus the following drinks) is perfect to meet other travelers and make you enjoy your night !

At night, Jamily (owner) serves up ice cold (and very strong) caipirinhas from behind the bar, while her husband Alex (co-owner) stations himself at the BBQ (his food is excellent).

The other amazing thing about the hostel is the bar, where all the guests and staff meet at night.

The bar is very nice (there are free drinks every evening for an hour), and the atmosphere is cool.

They have a bar in the backyard where u get a daily free caipi.

The breakfast has fresh fruit and bread and the bar is always open.

Grab a drink by the bar, talk to and meet some new friends (maybe play some drinking games!).

A great bar area to meet many fellow travellers and have a caipirinha or two.

The owners and staff are amazing,  the vibe is really good and with a an in-hostel bar you are guaranteed of a good of drinking,  games and meeting new people from all over the world.

There is a fully operational bar out back which is perfect to sip back on your free welcome caipirinha and meet other travellers.

Full Sail is clean, safe, close to the beach, and has one of the most entertaining little bars I've encountered yet in a hostel.

There isn't enough shared bathrooms, always had to wait.

however still dirty- felt like I was dirtier after my shower!

Only thing I would change is another bathroom

However the facilities are not that great, specially the bathrooms 🚽!

The hostel is located in the best neighbourhood of Fortaleza, really close to the beach of Iracema, and safe to walk even at night.

Very nice hostel to stay in Fortaleza, good location, just few minutes walking to the beach, lot of options of places to eat, the price is good, and the staff is very nice also, will always help you when you need.

Beaches and minimarkets are close by (Ubers or taxis are always organized to go to farther beaches with other travellers), nice common areas with good wifi and good fun always to be had.

Really enjoyable, I would highly reccommend, especially if you're travelling alone (like I was), it's great to have a welcoming, friendly hostel.

Despite welcoming me with a free "check-in caipirinha", the owners are extremely friendly and will make sure to make you feel at home.

I definitely would recommend this hostel to everyone up for fun and socializing.

but ended up staying 4, such was the fun we were having here.

During my stay we even had one of the famous "full sail booze cruise" boat parties which was again a really amazing experience and so much fun.

The volunteers all seem to be hand picked since they are also helpful and nice.

The staff (hostel manager and general staff) is extremely helpful and helped me sort it out.

The two owners Alex and Jamily are extremely nice and helpful people, from everything to recommending sites and eaterys to going out drinking with the guests.

Breakfast is the first moment to greet the day with all the kindness and sweetness of Victor!

The owners are amazing people that will help you with anything you need and the social atmosphere overshadows any minor flaws with the place.

Only saving grace was the Portuguese lady who worked there who tried her hardest to help us sort it.

The location is near to the cultural center Dragão do Mar and with easy access to the buses.

but I prefer walking to the nightlife over the beaches in Fortaleza.

The Refugio is the newest hostel in Fortaleza, positioned in the hearth of the city close to markets and nightlife.

The place is clean, has a great breakfast and nice area to hang out and meet other travellers.

Offers all the amenities (strong wifi, big breakfast, kitchen, luggage storage, 24hr staff, large bathrooms, plugs everywhere) without being too large.

The breakfast is perfect, veriuos, with many fruits and fresh juices.

The breakfast had toast and cheese and ham.

This hostel is a masterpiece.. built and looks so pretty.. the breakfast is great.. wifi is very good.

other than that, the breakfast was super delicious, the room was incredibly clean, bathrooms were spotless. i have nothing negative to say :)

All rooms are clean, beds super comfy, breakfast good, wifi super fast and stable, bathrooms have good showers and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

The breakfast is very good too, they serve fruits, juices, bread, tea, milk and so on.

Very friendly stuff, clean as a hospital, delicious breakfast (3 different juices, bread, toast, 6 different kind of marmelade, cheese, coffee, tea, >5 different fruits, cake etc.

The breakfast is great for being a hostel and the staff is adorable, always caring about us.

Friendly and well prepared service, environmental friendly,  nice beer and beverages prices and fair dorm price.

At just 1 year old, dorms bathrooms and kitchen are in very good condition.Super friendly environment with a mix of Brazilians and other travellers to socialise with  in the common area.

They also had two barbecues while we were there and all the staff were friendly and social, thought has more of a laid back atmosphere.

The staff, in my opinion, is the best part of it.Real friendly!

You can easily book a 3 star hotel with private air conditioned room and room service for 20 US$ per night.
