Then, the next day, Ms. Kelly and Mr. Rogerio at Breakfast did all they could to make us feel welcome. The rooms are very clean, the place is nice and comfortable (the bed will really put you to sleep!)

The breakfast included was great -- lots of fruits, lots of cakes, tapiocas, and other hot items.

Very good service, excellent breakfast plenty of different food styles.

The breakfast served there had real good food as well.

We got lunch at the restaurant downstairs  and the meals were delicious.

This is an excellent place to stay in Fortaleza, due to its central location and overall high marks on everything from personal service to breakfast to the space and cleanliness of the rooms.

Would strongly suggest that staff at check-in mention to his customers in Brazil it's quite dangerous.

My only complaint was the check in as they only had 2 people and a long line.

Check-in is confusing, there is no organization of queues and apparently everybody is a VIP for I was systematically bypassed while waiting.

This hotel is just a block or two back from Beira Mar, and provides reasonably comfortable accommodation when you are in Fortaleza.

The staff has been very accommodating and the rooms are spacious with fairly comfortable mattresses.

If you're looking at this price range and area, I'd recommend the Mercury over the Comfort.

The room size is great and its very comfortable.

The only point to get better is the elevator, the card to activate the floor do not work very well.

But they charged us for another half day all

Comfort pre-approves a charge for the full visit plus 30% extra on your credit card which I found unnecessary and not the case at other franchise hotels in the city.

There are only very limited shopping, restaurant and bar choices within close walking distance.

Was greeted at the front desk without a single smile, and after 22h a bouncer bars the entrance of the hotel to check you're on the list.

For diner they have a good restaurant with a decent bar.

It´s not so near to the typical local handcraft fair and most of restaurants and bars, if you look for fun time. Deuce!

The location makes it very attractive, the kilometer long beach is just across the road and a few hundred meters to the right a beach market and countless restaurants and bars can be found.

I got assigned room #1713 which had a fantastic view of the beach and ocean.

We came in early and got checked inn right away rooms are very spacious staff very friendly we felt at home the food was great really tasty it’s the third time I’ve and still the best the pool and jacuzzi made it really great to finish the day after a long day at the beach i recommended this hotel

The hotel is located directly on the beach and had a great view from the side balcony.

Location is very good, breakfast is just at the beach, and prime location for a walk.

Coffee machine does not work properly at breakfast and it creates huge Q.

However things seemed to be a little confusing: on the same small place of lavatory, there was a small fridge, some snacks and coffee machine.

The only suggestion that I have for the hotel would be to please get an ice machine for the guests use.

There had been an unsuccessful attempt at partly updating décor at some time in the past

The hotel including the rooms are very outdated, this is no standard Holiday Inn IHG quality that I’m used to.

As far as the room is concerned, a bit outdated

Even if i am writing on behalf of my family, i can confirm the judge of the others is the same.

He then saw my spouse and told me that I would have to pay an extra $40 BRL per night for my spouse, because my reservation (booked directly through IHG) indicated one adult.

By the way the hotel was not half booked next day.

I guess the hotel was fully booked, so in the morning there was often a queue to get a table for breakfast.

though there were rooms available and clean, the desk agent simply kept repeating the hotel policy and told us to come back at 11am.

The staff are very attentive and friendly, the rooms are immaculate, the views from the ocean side are breathtaking and bring you a sense of peace and serenity one must experience!

This seafront hotel is probably the best accommodation in Fortaleza if you are not looking for a resort.

A great location, right across the road from what felt like one of the safer areas on the beachfront.

The beach just across the (torn up) street in front of the hotel hosts a street fair/flea market frequented by locals and tourists alike.

So, thieves walk around the beach day and night looking for their next target.

Another reason we enjoyed our stay at the Grand Marquise Hotel so much is the fact it is located right across the street from Iracema Beach and a walking distance to several divine restaurants and bars in the area.

Finally, the location is great, in one of the most noble addresses in Fortaleza, with beautiful views of the beach and the port.

Located in a fantastic place, just in front of the beach, beside Coco Bambu Restaurant e around 5 min walking from crafts fair.

The lobby looks very old fashion, really noisy, cold and dark.

My only criticism would be TV channels all in Portuguese with exception of CNN which let's not kid ourselves it's very boring.Also water temperature was very strange, in the afternoon there was no cold water at all and in the morning shower it was either boiling hot water or cold no in between. Apart from that we had a great stay and we loved the variety of foods for breakfast including Champagne :-)

AC system ok (i prefer to sleep in cold temperature and unfortunately system did not refrigerate below 23 degrees celsius).

You can't turn the hot water on in the shower even if cold water is totally open.

Our room was comfortable with a great view of the beach and active day and night Brazilian life .

The hotel was renovated for the soccer world cup games, and does provide big comfortable rooms.

I am writing to you because I tried to withdraw money (150 BRL) at the encounter of the hotel and the woman said that my card was rejected and didn't give me any money back.

but they always have some availables (do not accept amex, but accept other debit cards).

Outstanding staff, very warm and professional, specially the staff on duty on the eve of August 10, who solved my problem when leaving for the airport at midnight with no cash to pay for the taxi ride (to have in mind, taxis to the airport do not usually accept credit card as taxis from the airport, so keep some 50/55 Reais for the ride back to airport!).

but as we were doing it they were also trying to charge another guest for the same thing.

I had to deep clean my room in order to feel comfortable.

The rooms are extremely comfortable from the ac to bed quality, breakfast is fresh and the variety is there, the service is great.

The view is great and the service from the bar is superb.

This was my second stay and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Mariana who helped incredibly in booking a car service to Jericoacoara.

Despite being from an unknown brand, it does provide good service and good amenities.

The front desk can help organise trips to various beaches.

The hotel is well situated on the beach front with some great views, the service has been superb (we arrived after a long drive and the staff were on hand to park the car and provide our room with great awareness and speed).

A suite with 2 rooms, 2 bathrooms, a sitting room with workplace area and a veranda with a view to the beach.

This hotel is ideally located on the beach front.

All the rooms are large and with ocean view, very well located in front of Meireles beach near "feirinha" in nice premises, and a resonable service.

Really an excellent location, the Beira Mar promenade and the ocean are just across the street.

We stayed, a couple with two child in two contiguous rooms with a wonderful view of the beach.

It is very secure and the beach is across the street.

The Othon palace is located in the very best and safest location in Fortaleza - right on the Meireles beach section of town.

If you are a beach lover, the best beaches are strangely enough, all outside of Fortaleza proper.

Though I was frustrated my travel agent didn't manage to get us a nice beach view (I will book on my own next time), I thought the Othon Fortaleza offered excellent value and some really nice accommodation at the best possible location in town.

If you can make friends with the locals on the beach, they will usually deter any wrongdoer !

The hotel might be a little bit old fashioned

but not even 4* standard - bathroom was poorly designed, bed was not very comfortable, and it seemed worn out.

but decoration is not interesting and there was a big dark stain on the floor, between bedroom and bathroom.

I never tried the hotel's italian restaurant because the hotel dining room was pretty drab and not very appealing.

The only issue is the mold smell when you open the door.

We had a problem with our door lock and they changed us promplty, to a superior room.

But the pedals don’t work, and that makes the play by (elder) guests a awkward hearing experience.

Needs a good renovation and offer more option for the guest to justify the price charged.

We were robbed just in front of Othon entrance - I shouted and shouted for help and the guy that is supposed to be there for the guests security didnt move his finger - not even to call the police!!!!

Also the lunch is self-service, an easier thing for guests with dietary restrictions.

but completely overworked and could not cope with all the guests' requests.

The bathroom (all 2x2 sqft of it) is gross.

The only problem was the toilet which was kind of small and the room I had did not have a proper shampoo and soap holder in the shower.

One negative point: we had a cold shower.

Internet via a cable, a shower you can not turn on without getteing wet in a very small bathroom and simple furniture.

Accessibility problems: low toilet, high sink, no shower bench, angled grab bars (don't gelp at all), no lowered counter at the front desk, NO WHEELCHAIR ACCESS TO THE POOL!!

Breakfast is good, rooms are clean, wi-fi works and there's a pizza place and an ice cream shop just steps away, what can make a difference if you don't feel like using room service.
