This seafront hotel is probably the best accommodation in Fortaleza if you are not looking for a resort.

A great location, right across the road from what felt like one of the safer areas on the beachfront.

A good hotel, food customer service, nice location near to prai futura beach, with good restaurants around, the breakfast is delicious and the room clean and with good A/C.

The beach just across the (torn up) street in front of the hotel hosts a street fair/flea market frequented by locals and tourists alike.

So, thieves walk around the beach day and night looking for their next target.

Smart rooms, smart lobby, friendly service, well-situated on the beach with decent restaurants nearby, good breakfast - this hotel ticks all the boxes you need.

The hotel is perfect for who want to stay in fortaleza because it is in front of the sea near the famous feirinha and a short way by car the futuro beach.

Another reason we enjoyed our stay at the Grand Marquise Hotel so much is the fact it is located right across the street from Iracema Beach and a walking distance to several divine restaurants and bars in the area.

Finally, the location is great, in one of the most noble addresses in Fortaleza, with beautiful views of the beach and the port.

Located in a fantastic place, just in front of the beach, beside Coco Bambu Restaurant e around 5 min walking from crafts fair.

The breakfast  array is mouth watering & you can also order any special you may want.

The breakfast can't be better with a beautiful  sea  view.

Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the ocean is an experience not to be missed and the rooftop pool / bar is not only a relaxing paradise during the day

During breakfast you could taste typical northwest Brazilian food, you must eat tapioca and fruit natural juice.

Airconditioned, breakfast was huge and very good.

Our room was always immaculate, and they offer one of the best breakfast buffets we have ever had.

The rooms are extremely comfortable from the ac to bed quality, breakfast is fresh and the variety is there, the service is great.

The champagne breakfast (taken outside facng the ocean) was delicous.

The Sunday buffet with traditional food from the Northeast is also very good

Breakfast has a lot of quality products and the dinner that I ordered was wonderful too.

The lobby looks very old fashion, really noisy, cold and dark.

My only criticism would be TV channels all in Portuguese with exception of CNN which let's not kid ourselves it's very boring.Also water temperature was very strange, in the afternoon there was no cold water at all and in the morning shower it was either boiling hot water or cold no in between. Apart from that we had a great stay and we loved the variety of foods for breakfast including Champagne :-)

AC system ok (i prefer to sleep in cold temperature and unfortunately system did not refrigerate below 23 degrees celsius).

You can't turn the hot water on in the shower even if cold water is totally open.

The rooms are very comfortable, spacious, great matratze, super king size bed.

Our room was comfortable with a great view of the beach and active day and night Brazilian life .

The hotel was renovated for the soccer world cup games, and does provide big comfortable rooms.

I am writing to you because I tried to withdraw money (150 BRL) at the encounter of the hotel and the woman said that my card was rejected and didn't give me any money back.

but they always have some availables (do not accept amex, but accept other debit cards).

Outstanding staff, very warm and professional, specially the staff on duty on the eve of August 10, who solved my problem when leaving for the airport at midnight with no cash to pay for the taxi ride (to have in mind, taxis to the airport do not usually accept credit card as taxis from the airport, so keep some 50/55 Reais for the ride back to airport!).

but as we were doing it they were also trying to charge another guest for the same thing.

There are two principal restaurants Mucuripe- internation cuisine & an aseatic restaurant.

Good accommodation, well located in a safe area and plenty of bars, restaurants and nightclubs within walking distance.

Good hotel, and very good foods in the restaurants.

The room's mini-bar had a nice assortment of soft drinks, beer, and snacks; and because of the strength of the dollar--they were affordable!

An open jar of mayonnaise was delivered with room service.

The area is safe to walk around at night, and close enough that we could walk down to the "action" of the street vendors and restaurants.

However, as a visitor in Fortaleza I would recommend the second floor Asian restaurant  - fantastic.

(For lunch is pretty standard, I havent try dinner).

COVID safety measures were in place which was important and even set up a COVID lab to visit our ROOM so we can get a test and results the next day (had to pay $R300 for the visit).

The rooms were very spacious, the air conditioning was extremely good,

The rooms are large, and have good water pressure eaven in the top floor.

The pool is incredibly small, hallways are HOT and not air conditioned, the room AC doesn't get very cool, and the Spa staff are unorganized.

But, our room views over the ocean were spectacular.

I had to deep clean my room in order to feel comfortable.

The view is great and the service from the bar is superb.

Service is spot on - rooms are cleaned and tidied every morning, so if you get back to your room early in the day it's ready.

Extra touches like turndown service give it competitive edge.

although they have the laundry service and no TV in other languages than Portuguese.

This was my second stay and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Mariana who helped incredibly in booking a car service to Jericoacoara.

Despite being from an unknown brand, it does provide good service and good amenities.

Worm welcome even it is late evening, fast service, in 5 min I'm in the room.

There are only very limited shopping, restaurant and bar choices within close walking distance.

Was greeted at the front desk without a single smile, and after 22h a bouncer bars the entrance of the hotel to check you're on the list.

For diner they have a good restaurant with a decent bar.

It´s not so near to the typical local handcraft fair and most of restaurants and bars, if you look for fun time. Deuce!

Hotel is situated right on the Iracema beach.

The location makes it very attractive, the kilometer long beach is just across the road and a few hundred meters to the right a beach market and countless restaurants and bars can be found.

I got assigned room #1713 which had a fantastic view of the beach and ocean.

We came in early and got checked inn right away rooms are very spacious staff very friendly we felt at home the food was great really tasty it’s the third time I’ve and still the best the pool and jacuzzi made it really great to finish the day after a long day at the beach i recommended this hotel

The hotel is located directly on the beach and had a great view from the side balcony.

Beside that very unacceptable exception, the service was friendly, the room was nice, It was in a good neighborhood and right on the beach.

The whole beach area is excellent for walks - even in the "dark hours" as the Rua Adolfo Caminha and Av.

Location is very good, breakfast is just at the beach, and prime location for a walk.

Breakfast:  Restaurant in premise was excellent.

Breakfast is extensive and the location is convenient.

Despite this the buffet was always well stocked.

Breakfast is splendid with an egg chef, fresh fruits and lots of local things to try.

The breakfast buffet was also quite good.

I appreciated the large opening hours of the breakfast (6.30 or 7am to 10.30am) with tables both inside or outside.

We were a group of 9 people divided in families of 3, we have been there for 2 days enjoying the people, the breakfast, the services, the room, the position .

but not least the spectacular breakfast that rivals all the breakfasts in every hotel in Brazil.

Free parking and breakfast was also a plus.

Breakfast is buffet style with partly outside seating.

A shout out to the breakfast Top Chef John who makes the "best tapioca in Brazil" every morning!

Breakfast is served from 6 - 10 am - perfect for the early bird and sleep long types :-) AND WHAT A TREAT to have it!!!

Breakfast was good, with natural fuit juices that I appreciate.

Breakfast: This hotel had a great variety of breakfast and everything seemed to be very well done. Delicious.

Breakfast is free and choice of food good.

Coffee machine does not work properly at breakfast and it creates huge Q.

However things seemed to be a little confusing: on the same small place of lavatory, there was a small fridge, some snacks and coffee machine.

The only suggestion that I have for the hotel would be to please get an ice machine for the guests use.

The hotel including the rooms are very outdated, this is no standard Holiday Inn IHG quality that I’m used to.

As far as the room is concerned, a bit outdated

Even if i am writing on behalf of my family, i can confirm the judge of the others is the same.

He then saw my spouse and told me that I would have to pay an extra $40 BRL per night for my spouse, because my reservation (booked directly through IHG) indicated one adult.

By the way the hotel was not half booked next day.

[BTW: My daughter booked the same and reported an even worse experience.  ]

I guess the hotel was fully booked, so in the morning there was often a queue to get a table for breakfast.

Room service: Room service was excellent.

I am of black ethnic origin and stayed in this hotel with white European friends who had a hotel room next to mine.

The hotel is also very close to local restaurants.

Room service was good, room was perfect, nice water pressure, and the security staff were all friendly.

Just cross the road to tbe sandy beach and about 1km walk along to countless beach restaurants.

As big of us are IHG platinum members it seems that the property is doing s better job of recognizing elites, giving a free beer or glass of wine!

Taxis are waiting for you and take you to the Centro (10 Min) or the restaurant areas down Av.

Nice restaurant, I ate a great shrimp meal there.

Rates were very affordable to say the least and the restaurant has pretty good food.

but the hotel had security all around and we could watch it from the restaurant downstairs.

We stayed for New Years Eve and let me tell you the best seats in the house are without a doubt from the rooms in this hotel, it will not disappoint!

The family rooms are a good value for the price.

We had a room with balcony and oceanview Staff is very friendly and helpful.

The rooms are quite big and well equipt with a decent LCD TV.

The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful.

The pool is OK and you can get a beachtowel at the front desk and walk 50 meters to swim in the ocean.

The people of the hotel had been very polite, and did help optimising our stay there, having then the time for visiting the city and enjoying the seaside at the "Playa du Futuru" 20min from the hotel by taxi.

The reception staff is attentive and helpful.

There was absolutely no attempt at helping us at all.

The manager was very apologetic and understanding.

Beeing so near at the beach does not mean that necessarily you have to bath there because there are prettier beaches outside the city and places with facillities like showers and bathrooms on Praia do Futuro (places like Barraca do Carangeijo or Crocobeach).

I arrived here Monday evening and the first thing I went to the shower and it was dirty from the guest before.

but need to improve the cleanliness of the bathrooms.

but the rooms especially the bathroom seemed a bit dirty.

But they better change the old noisy air conditioners.

The worst thing is the bathroom, we felt we were inside a horror movie: filthy,no fans with a weird opening onto the hallway, shower with water leak and a basket for toilet paper instead of a proper bin.

but many things don't work properly -bathroom -you can not close the water and you hear it all night long - and the sattelite TV has a horrible quality. Noisy.

The bathrooms do not have fans - just an opening onto the corridor - so can be quite stuffy.

Unfortunatelly there was no bath in the room I was staying.

The door did not close properly, the air conditioning unit was very old and very noisey and the shower was dirty with cracked tiles.

Worth to note, the beach just across the streets is very good.

but when the reviews say the beach facing rooms are hot.

This hotel worth all his price: clean rooms, excellent service, affordable price, ocean view, close to the beach, modern layout, welcoming staff.

The location is the best, you are in front of the beach.
