but standard again very clean and well maintained, the views from the balcony were out of this world and the pool was right by the room which was another bonus.

Each morning there was a breakfast prepared for me.

Vasilli and his team are amazing, the accommodation (our room was 107), the views, the breakfasts and the service was perfection!

Everyday is something different and every day it was delicious (and I'm not a big breakfast eater).

Wow this hotel is just awesome I am so happy I stayed here the room is phenomenal amazing hot tub with an incredible view of the sunset can see the cruise ships and all the birds I named a little one Theo as he was fluffy ☺️ the staff ever so friendly cristoff and valassis anything u want or need very happy to help you out my stay here honestly has been amazing I don’t want to leave I’d definitely reccomend it if I came to santorini again I’d stay here the breakfast is gorgeous aswell and the views you couldn’t get any better :)

Breakfast was cooked fresh each morning, with a different meal being presented.

Can't say enough about the breakfasts as you always get an egg dish or crepe with bacon.

We loved the breakfast, so much food and made to order eggs, it was amazing and service by Dimitris was excellent.

We were forced due to weather and predicted ferry cancellations to move up our arrival in Santorini.

On our last day our ferry was cancelled due to bad weather.

As our flight to Santorini was cancelled due to bad weather, we were managed to stay only one night/2 days here

and once everything is damp it does not dry out due to the humidity.

See my photos, no need to book a spa room as the non-spa rooms share a plunge pool anyway which is bigger and due to the hotels intimacy of guests, there is a small no.

though sunset view was a bit disappointing both nights due to haze in the West (kind of hoped for sun setting directly into the sea).

Due to the geography of the area, the wind never gives up, and evenings can be rather chilly (even restaurants provide blankets for guests).

Several weeks before we were due to leave I emailed Vasilis to see if he could arrange someone to collect us from the airport.

After a horrific night spent in Athens airport due to a major storm we finally arrived in Santorini a day late and feeling extremely miffed.

We stayed at villa renos late august after getting switched from porta fira due to overbooking.

Smell musty when we walked down to flights of stairs to our room. 2.

We arrived May 30th, mid-day for 4 nights after a short flight from Athens.

The biggest difference between the Villa Renos and the other top flight hotels were  that the rooms were less expensive.

However, we did not have the time to go to the post office as our flight left very early the next day.

Note that as with most hotels on this island, you take a flight of stairs down before even getting to the front desk, then depending on your room selection, you take more steps down from there.

Vasilis even called the airline to change our flights to Athens.

Although we had to climb a couple flight of stairs to reach the room, it's definitely worthwhile.

Do yourself a favor and stay at Villa Renos so you only have 1 flight of stairs to climb each morning when you go out on your excursions.

but the first flight we could get, and then disaster struck .

Our flight out was not until 10:45 p.m. and we had to check out by 11:00.

He even left us his mobile number at the front door the morning we checked out just in case we run into emergency (its a very early morning flight!).

Our flight didn't leave until late Sunday night and we checked out at noon,

but that Vassilis Matekas, the owner of Hotel Villa Renos, had the foresight to email and warn of the strike the night before our arrival, and guide us through to the right ferry company after we confirmed that indeed our flight had been cancelled.

We had Room # 1 with a king-size bed, great bathroom and unbelievable view of the caldera - - complete with our own private Jacuzzi, two chairs and a table.

So we stayed in the Grand Suite with a loft for him with 2 beds and 2 bathrooms.

We had Room 3, which was a deluxe with a private balcony and a two-person jacuzzi tub.

We stayed in mid September in Grand Suite.

Cant tell enough about this vacancy and how Vasilis made his best to make sure we enjoy the most of our visit!The details make the difference.. best homemade breakfast ever had - different every day, most comfortable mattress, even a professional hairdryer in the deluxe room.

We had a beautiful suite with hot tob on the spacious balcony. We enjoyed our stay and particularly the hot tob with a bottle of wine :-)

Our family of 5 stayed comfortably in the master suite.

My daughter and I stayed in the Junior Suite which was perfect for us with separate beds on 2 floors.

We booked the grand suite and it was unlike any other accommodations we have ever experienced.

We had the Junior Suite with caldera view.

Villa Renos has perfect views, we stayed in a deluxe room that had ample space for two.

We stayed in a ‘junior’ suite which is a very comfortable and stylish duplex.

The room we booked was the Junior Suit and it was clean with a beautiful view.

We stayed in the lovely & spacious Grand suite and really enjoyed our private terrace where we watched the beautiful sunsets every evening.

The balcony had two lounge chairs and table and chairs, and a mini clothesline.

We had the grand suite for the 4 of us (including 2 teenagers), and it was very comfortable.

The bed was super comfy and our suite was equipped with all we needed.

We stayed in the Grand Suite Caldera room.

The views of the Caldera from our room was spectacular especially at Sunset.

It is also super close to the bus stop, which is a great way to go see the sunset.

It felt like you were completely surrounded by the sunset every night.

The Island is beautiful, the people lovely and the hotel is clean, stylish central and comfortable with the most amazing caldera views for the world famous Santorini sunsets.

Also, - guess what:  Fira has sunsets that are every bit as phenomenal as Oai, complimented by a larger variety of restaurants to enjoy them from - - without paying $200.

The location is perfect, with the Caldera, sunsets, and views of the rest of the island visible right from my balcony.

I felt appreciated, loved the view everyday at sunset and a nice little oasis away from the bustle of Thira up above.

You just have to go outside your room to have the most spectacular sunsets ever or sit at the bar.

The balconies are perfect places to watch the glorious Santorini sunset.

This hotel has a café bar with spectacular views- a great place to have a sunset cocktail.

but got to enjoy the sunset from the pool  every time solely.

Being able to watch the beautiful sunset every evening from our room balcony facing the caldera was truly memorable.

We were able to experience the nicest sunset every single day.

Sunsets hours were amazing and this hotel gives you that opportunity at your door step or from the bar.

We didn’t have to go down a lot of stairs.

Just be aware of the many steps to reach your room - the stairs are steep.

Definitely book the private transfer as it would not be fun to carry your bags up and down the steep stairs.

The stairs are steep and plentiful with no elevator (warning to those with mobility issues).

There were a lot of stairs to get down to our room,

The first way is through reception and down 126 stairs, you can also go out the locked and private entrance on the walking path at the bottom.

Be prepared to walk up and down steep stairs.

It is at the side of the cliffs in Santorini, so there are some steep stairs to climb -

Please note: lots of stairs, so not recommended if you have issues with that.

It has an upstairs sitting area/couch, stairs to the lower area with another sitting area, bed, separate bath.

Down to our room (Room 5) there were about another 5 flights of stairs.

Even on our last morning-- upon which we had a VERY early departure, they left breakfast for us in the fridge and were there to carry our bags up the several flights of stairs.

Be warned that there are many stairs down to the rooms, so those that are mobility challenged may have a tough time getting into and out of the rooms.

Eddie would come down with our meal every morning (amazing because there were a million stairs we had to climb, so we got a GOOD workout that left us winded every day after climbing them), and he graciously came to pick up everything after we were done.

My only warning for others, this and all cliff side establishments is you will climb many steep flights of stairs.

The property too is also just how I have pictured Santorini, set into the cliffs with lots of stairs, and beautiful picturesque-views- I had to constantly pinch myself that I was actually there witnessing it all in person.

You have to be able to walk down and up very steep stairs.

Prepare to hike stairs as all apartment are carved in rock and all facing volcano.

We traveled six floors by stairs up and down, no elevators, every time we left the room.

It was amazing hotel and full of facilities like the swimming pools, full continental breakfast and close to town!

We also ate at the buffet on our first night, everything was so tasty.

This is a beautiful hotel, we loved the pools and breakfast was delicious.

Sun loungers were plentiful at all times of day,

Staff at breakfast generally very pleasant and helpful.

Staying here was a great experience, very attentive staff at breakfast and reception, taking our luggage to our room.

The El Greco is one if the larger hotels in Fira with nice rooms, good breakfast , decent facilities and fantastic pools with sufficient day beds after sightseeing on a hot day.

Hotel staff were great esp Maria and cleaners were very friendly,breakfast was great and lots of choice.overall a great place to stay.

Breakfast was just ok and was lacking a variety of freshly sliced fruits.

The staff are amazing and work very hard, especially during breakfast time.

Breakfast buffet in the morning has good selection.

We had breakfast included, the breakfast buffet was excellent and plenty of variety.

The 5 Pools are clean and plenty of sunbeds at each (you do have to get up early to reserve) Breakfast was a good choice

All in all I would say the El Greco resort is more like a poor three star hotel, it’s probably great for the international guest who are only staying two nights whilst they island hope

The quality of the breakfast is poor, bordering on awful.

The buffet breakfast had a poor selection..

however the beds are only double and very hard the pillows are even worse very poor quality nice big shower in the room.

Finally, room servicing was poor as I had a glass of water on my first night that continued to sit there not replaced or cleaned all the way until the last night.

To me I think this is really disappointing as clearly this is poor organisation from the hotel as they’d not even tried to put any guests who were arriving later on that day in our room nor did they offer us the use of another room for the rest of the day.

but then you have to deal with poor service (you can't even make a phone call from your room), the location out of town that forces you to walk under the sun a lot, and a terrible breakfast in the morning.

The only negative point for us in Fira was the poor donkeys going up and down the 500 odd steps that takes you up the cliff side from the port.

The only negative we would say is about the food, breakfast was a poor standard with eggs bacon etc just so over cooked.

Being from Melbourne Australia don’t even get me started about the poor excuse for coffee at breakfast - only one choice & from a machine -some sort of coloured water.

Room amenities are poor with no coffee and tea or even tissues available.the air conditioner in our room was old and noisey.

Breakfast was poor, they serve every day same food, restaurant is not very big

but one of the managers gave us a poor first impression.

The orange juice and coffee were very poor quality and for most of our holiday we didn't bother at all with the breakfast.

Usual breakfast items, awful coffee, poor choice of tea, milk always had ran out.

The only downside is you cannot flush toilet paper and that is true of everywhere in Santorini.

but really how much time do you spend in the bathroom?!

We also had a small "kitchenette" area with basic dishes, sink, fridge, etc.

The rooms and bathrooms are on the small side,

The rooms are not huge( particularly the bathrooms)

Room size including the bathroom was a little small

Our only complaint, the room was a bit small and the shower tiny.

The thing you have to be aware of is that this is not a luxury hotel - there is no infinity pool, no mini bar, they do not replace your amenities each day, and the bathroom does flood after a shower.

Only caveat, it was for our last night's stay, that unfortunately the shower water did not heat up.

-Room did not even have a full length mirror!

The room is small and the shower is even smaller,

Room and bathroom were a bit dated and tired

They only cons would be a few details about the rooms (small mirror, no floor length, they comforter  was a little worn),

The first downside of the room was the shower.

The bathroom was dated, particularly the bath/shower and fixtures,

But we think the room we were given (#9) could be better..wifey's back was against the wall and had to slide out to get to the toilet (did we not pay enough? haha).

The only downside was that the bathroom was very small and our room was a little small as well.

Unfortunately the room and bathroom were very, very small.

There was no shelving in the bathroom and the sink is tiny (had to set my toiletry bag on the floor).

Marina prepares a special something to add to your breakfast each morning and you have a variety of coffee choices.

The room was spotless and the daily breakfast, with a special treat everyday, was more than ample.

The breakfast is great with a good selection and staff are very friendly.

The breakfast was met with a delicious array of food

The breakfast was great every morning, and their extra local treats for each guest made it over the top.

Staff was lovely, rooms were immaculate, view was beautiful and breakfast was wonderful and fresh each morning.

Fabulous views, fantastic sunsets, plentiful food and perfectly located to walk or easily transport to everything.

The breakfast was very good, “come/open seating any time you want it during breakfast hours”, plentiful, and with made-to-order cafe everyday.
