and when breakfast is charged almost 25€,  i expect a table that is larger than 60x60 cm.

but for the room itself, it is absolutely overpriced.

Although positioned in the range of higher priced hotels we found it value for money.

The only letdowns were the waiters at the outside bar who managed to completely ignore us twice during the stay and the very expensive

Also as it was an expensive room, we would have expected the toilet to be in a separate cubicle.

but not as nice as some of my other experiences for half the price.

We had dinner in the restaurant one evening - it is expensive

The rooms are a little outdated and could use a refresher to match the room rate.

but very expensive at €144 for two people.

but there was no decent WiFi in the room- it was a waste of time…….at this price point in this day and age it is not acceptable to have crap WiFi that keeps logging off and is weak strength.

Nice rooms and there is parking around the hotel ( kinda tricky, always fully parked and you have to be lucky to find a spot) 

Like i said the hotel is on a hill, so the entrance road is steep, curvy and small

The breakfast is average and the breakfast location is way too small for this size hotel and its also too expensive.

However food was very very bad, dinner and breakfast, and we paid a handsome fee for that.

but the food did not match it as was very basic, poor and not that tasty at all for the price, would avoid and go in to town, but look at TripAdvisor before entering as a lot of bad places in town.

There is a three tired, fixed price menu, each progressively a bit more expensive, each with limited choices.

Drink prices in the hotel were very high, 9.20euro for a coffee and a tea.

But I strongly advise you book in advance and get a room with a sea-side view, the price difference vs a room with no view is quite low.

Lot of parking place, super friendly personnel, nice and very clean rooms, walking distance from the beach of Etretat, scenic views from the location and a very very good breakfast.

We stayed in a villa and the room was really clean and nicely furnished.

Rooms are clean and comfortable, and the Panoramic Restaurant offers excellent menu's, and seats very well wit a fantastic view on the "bay" of Etretat.

Breakfast buffet had a maid of cold and some hot food.

We went in February, it was cold and little bit snow,

but some revolting French cold meat which had been reheated - despite there being a supermarket 100 yards away WHICH SELLS REAL BACON !

Only downside was the cost of breakfast - 16 euros for a cold buffet.

The room was cold, sterile and extremely weird with regard to the furniture.

The hotel it is on the port , it is more a business like place, not charming,  rather a cold.

but not now ,was not looking for a refund but a credit towards a future visit .

We had to leave early due to a business crisis and the man did everything he could to make this possible without charging us for the full stay.

Free parking was available in a small lot behind the hotel, or for a 12 euro charge per day in the hotel's underground lot.

Some people, on the other hand, might prefer the checking in experience to be confined to  being given the basic information required and to be given a key card.

We also found quite a few places - restaurants and businesses - closed due because we were there in Sept which is after the main tourist season is over.

but a bit noisy inside due to thin walls, not far from the beach and from the park with bars and clubs.

So we were left in a stiflingly hot and muggy room due to the unexpected warm weather, and couldn't leave the door to the balcony open overnight due to the noise from the road below.

The room was very clean and had all of your basics.

Dont expect anything major (sometimes looking a 4.5 rating from TA one does) other than nice clean rooms and a good night sleep.

The downsides were the lack of air conditioning and the very very poor Wifi reception.

With two kids, age 8 and 9, it was like a little fairytale.

As we having a baby , we have to go out and look for hot water outside the hotel.

Our stay was for one night on a motorcycle tour of France and Spain with 2 adults and 2 boys.

The "beach" is stony with no sand so not the best for children.

The room was clean and spacious enough for two.

The wifi was good and the room was very clean.

but not too strong, and room was clean with pretty big bathroom, vice view.

It is a real shame, as the hotel is really lovely: clean room, nice old-fashioned style, lovely staff, good organic breakfast and great location, right in the centre and 5 mn walk to the sea.

Back to the hotel; our room was small  and the "ensuite" facilities were cramped

The room was basic - slightly worn, no mini-fridge, spotty internet -

but somehow we managed to get our room key and got the massage that in the evening the reception is not being maned up and you have to use a pin code to access the main door.

The wifi only allowed one person in the room to be online at any time - and was slow.

TV is french only and there is no internet.

Nonetheless, the rooms were very clean, the view was beautiful (you could either get the rooms that have the St Etienne cathedral as a view, or the port with the beautiful cliffs behind it).

Not sure about the negative reviews from other TA contributors as we found the hotel very pleasant - good clean room with plenty of space, helpful, friendly staff and a good restaurant.

I sat down at a crumb strewn table to get my bearings.

I had to have a second look because there didn't appear to be any of the usual breakast items there, such as cutlery and crockery on the tables, food etc.

It included, a salad, the main dish, a plate of assorted cheeses, dessert, 0.5l of your choice of wine, and an unlimited amount of bread, all of which was included in the package of course.

We were welcomed on arrival by the owner and as we were a little too early to check in we had a drink whilst we waited for our room to be ready.

Finally after about 20 minutes wait, the waitress plonked a single small croissant on my table.

There is no elevator in the hotel so if you do have issues with stairs, this is not the place for you.

we lived on level 3.. which was a good exercise to climb as there is no elevator.

We are older people so we're surprised we were not told they did not have a lift.

Back to the hotel, no lift so beware if three serious flights of stairs are a problem, or ask for a room on a lower floor.

Upstairs, the beds are good and the rooms are clean.

Our car was saftely stored in a garage next door (for 5 euros if there's space) and the rooms are clean, basic,

The owner/receptionist was extremely helpful and nice- he even carried our (very heavy) bags all the way up four flights of stairs.

The concierge (she may be the owner, not sure) insisted on carrying my suitcase up the two flights of stairs which was above and beyond.

but the staff carries your bags up the stairs if you wish.

If you have heavy luggage, mind the stairs.

We found our way up the stairs by ourselves, and entered the room.

If we were being picky the only thing that could be improved is the curtains have string hanging off them, the frosted glass of the en suite has lots of fingers marks and I had a towel with a clump of someone else's hair stuck to it.

There aren't any drawers or wardrobes in the room.

The hotel has no elevator and no parking.

Beware if your on the top floor there is no lift and taking a heavy suitcase to the top could be knackering!

The only negative was that there is no lift, so lugging heavy suitcases up the winding staircase was quite a feat.

Only drawback is that there is no elevator so watch out if you carry any bag as there is no bell man.

It was a pain having no lift as hubby was busy parking the car ,and getting the luggage upstairs
was difficult

But we had a good stay because the room was clean and the hotel was at an good location.

If you're at the end of the hall, you probably won't notice it; we were about halfway down.

It doesn't have Aircon so was really hot - and then town noises woke us early

Fecamp as a location is sleepier than a dormouse on sleeping tablets - no late night noises to disturb sleep etc

Also because there was a bit of a heat wave for that time of year (end of Sept) with no A/C you had to have the window wide open in order to sleep and so got all the noise of the early morning especially as there is a bakery right across the road.

The two things that kept me from giving it a 5 were the noise and the price.

The rooms are clean and tidy if not overly “elegant”.

but didnt stop us sleeping ok - the mattress was a bit marshmallowy and we floated together rather nicely !!!

This place is vastly overpriced; it hasn't been decorated in 100 years; NO amenities - no bar, no restauarnt, no tea/coffee making stuff in rooms, no fridge in rooms; Toilet not clean.

The staff couldn't cope and in order to pay we had to cross the road, to go the bar and queue..

We paid extra for a Comfort Room and  was very disappointed with its actual comfort the room floor sloped therefore the bed was not level.

It is not a place to go if you like a drink as we found bar prices high, food is pricy as well and the restaurants were busy

Make sure you take your payment advice/receipt slip if you pay in advance.

Good sized clean room and large  bathroom.

Hotel d'Angleterre

The rooms were clean and tidy with en suite.

Rooms clean and nicely decorated and spacious breakfast room which served a simple breakfast

Wonderful location, clean rooms, cozy bed, the assortment of coffee flavours to taste at the relaxing terrace.

The hotel has no private parking and there is no free parking nearby so be prepared to park in the street and pay.
