Room was very clean, comfortable with a comfy bed as well.

Our room was clean and comfortable and had a relaxation chair in our room which was great after a long drive, Breakfast had a lot of choices.

Although the motel was smoke free, There  was a foul stale odor throughout the hotel, almost like stale smoke or dirty carpeting.

They had used some sort of air freshener that set my allergies off making my nose and throat burn

The hotel smelled musty, there was a large patch of mold on the bathroom ceiling, the breakfast was meager, and the facilities were a bit run down.

Hotel room was sooo small and smelled very musty moldy.

Sheets thin, cheap toilet paper and shampoo smelled like castile soap.

Room was musty and bothered our allergies overnight and the next day.

Our problem occurred when we were told there would be a $100 cash deposit since my husband is a smoker and we were paying with cash.

Hair was on the toilet and fingernail clippings on the ground in the restroom.

Only thing I did not like was the water pressure in the shower…..it could have used more.

The bed was comfortable.The towel hook on the back of the bathroom door fell off during the night.

but could use a little more attention, as there was still dried caulk smears on the tile in the bathroom.

but no step up/over and the shower head was tall enough for anyone 6’4” to use without bending over.

Only problem we had was that the toilet handle broke.

Room and washroom were in need of maintenance.

Lots of noise, pool had a film on top, poor water pressure, discount for college tour not given or not properly provided even after specifically asking attendant.

If the hotel is specially cleaning, I don’t know why there was an inch of dirt on the bathroom vanity.

There was a floor board pulled up in the bathroom, so maybe there had been a previous leakage that wasn't repaired.

Paid $200 for a room with a bathroom with mold, crumbling sheetrock, stained bathtub, worn out sink front, and discolored grout around the toilet.

The bathrobe fob on the bathroom door fell off upon touching it.

The bathroom floor was not washed and lots of grout missing.

Oder in the bathroom, paint coming off the walls, and the carpet was wet to the touch.

The bed was so hard, I would wake up and find a part of my body completely numb and tingly from the pressure points.

I cannot speak to the amenities a I did not use them besides a bowl of cereal for breakfast.

Tiles falling off in room and ceiling falling down in bathroom.

In the south person double charged our room.

but this particular one charges $20 a pet.

They charged me a $20 fee per dog and I get the awful smelly, dirty feeling room.

This hotel charged us a $250 smoking charge for their room and we DO NOT smoke.

Warning to pet owners: this La Quinta will charge you $20 per night, per pet.

I'm very upset to hear that La Quinta is going to start charging pet fees.

Staff attitudes were poor along with lack of knowledge of holding rooms, billing, and ability to use points.

Floor had 3 inch slope that was unexpected and threw us off balance.

Picked the LaQuinta Inn because they are pet friendly at no extra charge.

In addition, the manager's business card was in the room with his personal phone number on it to use in case of questions or concerns.

I was quoted a $78.00 room rate on the phone when I reserved our room and was charged  $80+ at checkout.

The side door cannot be accessed with the room key card to be opened.

a possible charge on my card, my voucher to the property and wasting 1 hour of my time, because of this.

I tried to check in (with my eight year old child in my presence) after 11 hours on the road and upon request, I handed the front desk employee my license and credit card at check-in.

but Emporia Fitness Center is a mile away and they only charge $5.50 for a day pass.

When I received my credit card statement, I discovered the front desk clerk had scanned my prepaid card wrong and instead of crediting $50 towards my balance due for the stay, I was charged.

So we used a nice shower with hot water and the room was clean and quite.

The room was clean, the bathroom was adequate.

The room was very clean with a very comfortable bed, and it was surprisingly quiet.

He said the rooms were clean, he felt safe and the staff was helpful and friendly.

but check in / check out was a breeze, breakfast was hot and plentiful with options, The staff was competent, room was clean, everything worked.

Rooms are clean, friendly staff and ample parking.

Comfortable bed, clean room and excellent breakfast.

Our room was clean, quiet, and close to an exit so that we could walk our dogs.

From the friendly, efficient, helpful Gals at the front desk to the comfort of the beds and the room furnishings to the cleanliness of our room to the excellent breakfast,  this Motel is one of the best we have stayed in for a long time, The Wyndham chain should be very proud of this location.

My husband & I were very impressed with the hotel, clean room & the breakfast was wonderful.

Who doesn’t know about spray cleaner with bleach these days?

The first room we were given smelled like sewage.

The door handles to the room and inside were filthy with finger prints.

Our room had an extremely strong air freshener smell.

Smelled really bad and no apologies from staff when I complained.

All they did was try to spray air freshener over the top of dog smell.

this hotel is old and run down the carpets are filthy.

Anyway in the morning the dog showed up for breakfast ate off breakfast bar. Gross.

there was a definite mildew smell in the hallways.

I would suggest that they find a way to eliminate the odor without such a sweet perfume smelling  deodorizer.

but the public areas had a horrible odor.

I was sad to see all the frozen dog poop all over the grassy areas adjoining all the nearby hotels.

The current construction made things a bit harder to navigate and the foul smell from the rooms they were working on did fill the hallway.

The Front desk girl was rude, odor in the hall and you could not enter through the front due to construction.

Entering the hotel, the funky smell hits you first.

When we got to our room the Jacuzzi was not working, the floor surrounding the tub was VERY soft, and the room was very humid.

There was trim and some random mirror or construction part left is our room.

There was two dirty wash clothes hanging on the shower door, and the shower was not very clean.

She made a long day of winter travel seem much less draining!

but the toilet did not and the carpeting in the room is old, stained and moldy.

The water in the shower takes forever in the morning.

Next, the sink drain would not work and the sink would not drain.

They provided extra towels, soap  and trash bags for our rooms- the pile of presents we unwrapped was crazy.

We started in room 103 I told them my fish tank moves more water then the tub the maintenance guy agreed and said that by no means it’s what a hot tub should be expecially for the price we paid so they moved us to room 101 and it isn’t any better at all.

I went into the bathroom and saw a dead roach, no big deal, it happens.

but we did notice that the metal window sills in the pool area were very rusty.

The bathroom sink has at least an inch of caulk behind it because it's not hung right, the paint is a mess etc.

Also toilet bowl ran all night and door stuck so bad I was nervous if there was a fire.

The toilet was leaking and so it ran every few minutes.

but it didn’t appear to be in our charges.

Poor security, outside door did not require card to enter. Disappointed.

I have not checked my credit card yet to see if it was done or not.

First, the key card would not open the door.

The person who should get a lot of credit for customer satisfaction is the manager, Jocelyn Conklin.

Originally they made a mistake with our reservation and tried charging us $400 extra

When we got to the hotel as scheduled they tried to charge us for all of the rooms and also at a higher rate per room than agreed upon.

I still need a card she rudely said, long and short, with all the problems it didn't go through.

So they charged me $150 and moved me rooms.

Raised floor entering the bathroom had loose bricks- my elderly parents have walking and balance problems.

I did leave a card at the front desk so they are aware.

She made us feel right at home.Our room was clean,quite & cool.

The common areas had a musty smell of dirt.

The woman preparing breakfast both mornings was very busy, due to a large number of guests, because of the nasty weather.

The entire hotel smelled mildewy, and lo and behold, the entire carpet was soaking wet.

The room was ok, smelled musty and we heard noise at the elevator and from the lobby.

The hallway was littered with debris from the remodel work and the wainscoating had been removed in both the room and the hallway.

The manager Baker told me that the smoke smell was coming from one of two rooms and smelling up the hallway.

The whole place smelled musty, the carpets were worn and the walls were thin.

Outside looked fine - opened the door to go into the lobby and was IMMEDIATELY hit by a terrible odor - musty and moldy!

I cannot say it enough the mold and musty smell------------------they need to do something or tear it down or better yet get the health department in to pay a visit.

Best Western Emporia Inn

Clean rooms and staff are great, especially McKayle and Chelsea.

The hotel is very clean and the room was very comfortable.

Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable.

but even though this hotel was new, with beautiful, clean rooms, the mattress was hard, lumpy and we tossed and turned all night.

Very clean rooms, very pleasant staff, complimentary breakfast was plentiful and good quality food!

Clean rooms, great staff and complimentary breakfast is wonderful even with an IHOP next door!

Room was immaculate, complimentary breakfast was outstanding with healthy choices even including greek yogurt smoothies.

This hotel offers a clean room with a comfortable bed.

Hampton Inn Emporia

Only negative is they need a mirror outside the bathroom so 2 people can get ready at the same time.

My only dislike has to be shower water pressure.

Nothing to hold on to in the shower while bending down to wash your feet either.

Further, the toilet was leaking into the bowl which I reported to the front desk.

Then I find the water is shut off and I am not able to shower, flush the toilet, etc.

I will say the bathroom was very small and the light switch is on the outside of the door so at night if you need to go you will wake up anyone else in the room.

We entered to find their luggage, shower supplies, etc in the room.

Well, except for the unfinished non-stained wood that was inserted to hold the shower rod in place (the shower rod wasn't long enough for the space).

What they fail to post in the bathroom or tell said guests is that there is at least a 2" drop when stepping out of the bathtub in these rooms that will cause even the most careful of people to fall.

Some of the signs appeared to have fallen down were put back on crooked, many of the A/C units weren't blowing cold air, they forgot to stock our rooms with shampoo and other toiletries, etc.

Name brand lotion and shampoo/conditioner (in one).

Amenities in the room were not the normal cheap stuff you normally find.

but no lotion (saving pennies there), towels frayed and could be softer.

but there was one problem--bed bugs in the bed closest to the door.

Bathroom so small you could barely get in and shut the door to get to the sink which is behind the door (as well as the toilet paper 😖).

We had stopped by the Holiday Inn Express next door to get a room,

There are wide gaps around the entry door making it seem very unsafe and questionable.

It did take a while to check in, and there are no automatic doors so is pain carrying stuff in and out .

She rather grunted at us and came and stood in front of the door and starred at us while we ate our muffin.

but my card was declined..3 time so I had to go next door to the ATM for cash.

The trash cans just outside the door as you entered were full and running over.

Daytime construction next door during the day, new hotel, not this hotels fault.

There was one at the desk when checking in, one in the elevator, one in the door to the pool.

Bathroom door swings in onto the vanity & makes it a tight fit.

So if you stay at this hotel make sure you double lock the doors at all times and bring a baseball bat!

Our room WAS at the end of a hallway, across from the open stairwell, and every time someone entered or exited the building from the stairwell door, the sound reverberated up the stairwell and made everything in our room shudder.

Housekeeping knocked on the door at 9:00 a.m. on a Sunday.

The door doesn't fit, so there's light coming from under the door, around the side, and on the top.

The room was clean, the water hot, and the breakfast was better than the average hotel breakfast meal.

You will get a comfortable, clean room at a good price!

It was clean and the value of the room was better than others I have stayed at.

Beds were very comfortable, the sheets were white and crisp and towels not thin and, most importantly, the room was clean.
