Air conditioner was noisy with basic controls, so we just left the fan on for background noise.

Everything smelled fresh and the A/C was blasting cold air all night.

Though the air conditioner was pretty noisy. It's a very basic Super 8 with a bare minimum free breakfast,   (No meat available at the breakfast.)

My only complaint is that the in-room heater/AC unit was noisy.

A faulty Back door Key card scanner cause for trip to front desk - clerk acknowledged it required the right "touch" - manager should not ignore this kind of defective security device.

the air conditioner rattled and pinged when it was not blowing air, and someone was doing somesaults?

but what wasn't ok was the huge recliner jammed between one side of the bed and the air conditioner.

THEN the room simply rattled when the truck parked outside our window started up at 6 am.

but air conditioner cleared it out while we went out to eat.

The manager/owner was on duty and he immediately came to look at the unit ~ said the motor was burned out.

the breakfast room was so small there were only 3 tables,  we had to stand in the hall and wait and when we did get a table there was no way to heat the oatmeal.

I'm pretty sure I was present on my second time in for this large group, as there were lots of people camping out in the hall around my room (I had the room next to the small breakfast room the hotel has), and for someone just trying to sleep due to sickness, yeah, that was a large, noisy and rather unruly group.

We visit Emporia at least once a year and this is where we always stay.

The Super 8 in Emporia delivered for us yet again. Kudos!

The Emporia Super 8 was one of the good ones.

Any time I stop in Emporia, I stay there.

but this hotel was highly rated in Emporia.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Emporia Super 8 and will be back when we're in the area.

We spent over night in Emporia, while on the way to Wichita.

Saw the housekeeping cleaning out some rooms and noticed they were doing a good job, which I really appreciated after staying in another, not so good motel in Emporia earlier.

We always stay in Emporia in our way to/from Dallas.

After viewing the possibilities on Trip Advisor, I chose Super 8 Emporia, and it was exactly as recommended.

Enjoyed the migrant like workers celebrating end of work week playing their music from their truck and smoking pot.

Thankfully, you could heat your plate in the microwave.

The in-room amenities are great, including a strong hot shower, microwave and mini fridge, the bed and pillows are superb, excellent cable TV and wifi, always clean, quiet, and friendly, and a great value.

I make good use of the in-room microwave, coffee machine, and fridge,

The  Check in was fast the room was clean and the room had tv , refrigerator, iron , hair dryer maps everything you would need for a comfortable stay

but the things you'd expect were there--hair dryer, toiletries, ironing board and iron, microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, and large-screen tv.

The room was very clean and had a frig and microwave in it.

There is a Gazebo for relaxing out back and a washer & dryer for use in the hallway for $1.50 .

but coffee pot despencer put out fast and slopped over.

Very friendly check-in, fresh & clean room with big screen hi def TV + frig + microwave, and close to nice downtown restauants (Bobby D + Radius etc).

The fridge and microwave are nice to have in a room.

The room was clean, had a comfortable King bed large Tv and micro wave and refrig.

The Teflon from the waffle iron stuck to the waffle maker.

Registration was fast and when asked was informed there was a "picnic area" in the back where we could walk our dog.

In compared to most of the Super 8 motels I stay in around the country each month , this one is the finest as far as cleanliness , friendly helpful staff , and availability of food nearby ( I drive a truck so I need to walk to restaurant ) they certainly go above and beyond the normal expectations one would have

but there was food to eat and it was good, so.

Very clean and close to some great local restaurants.

The staff were personable and helpful with recommending a nearby restaurant.

We have always found our rooms clean and everything is very very good especially all the nice grass to walk our dogs.

There was road construction further down the block so we decided to have Chinese food delivered and it was okay, they have brochures up by the front desk, if you order anything, ask for extra sauces, we received a packet of duck sauce for 4 egg rolls, other than that, it was good.

Our room was nicely decorated (we really like the photo of the sunflowers), the front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast room was carefully tended, with good food options, including waffles and biscuits with sausage gravy.

The picnic/patio area is nice; and it was conveniently located near restaurants and shopping areas.

Almost all of the nearby restaurants are pizza or sandwich shops.

Good staff, clean rooms, decent breakfast, 46" TVs and a convenient location to downtown and most restaurants.

Good burger and fries at the Wagon Wheel which is a walk across the parking lot.

Proximity to restaurants required use of a car.

He even brought down to our room brochures of eating establishments that would delivery!!

The desk attendant was there as we walked in, was very friendly, asked if we qualified for any discounts and pointed out a great steak house within walking distance.

Another bonus was the ability to walk across the parking lot to the local "Wagon Wheel Grill & Bar" for dinner and drinks.

but you could not hear anything and it placed us away from the noise of the stairs.

You had to navigate a long flight of stairs to get to the upstairs and with luggage it was tough.

The hotel is 2 story, with no elevator, so if stairs are a problem, request a ground floor room.

but I opted to take the stairs slow for the king.

The only rooms that were available were on the second floor and it was difficult for an elderly member of our family to manage the stairs.

We usually don't stay in hotels with no elevators since we (I) don't do stairs (knees).

My family and I visit friends in Emporia quite frequently.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone traveling through Emporia Kansas.

This hotel has been open for a few years which is nice as Emporia did not have a LQ before.

We just returned from a trip that included a one night stay at the Emporia KS La Quinta.

Thank you to the staff at the La Quinta in Emporia, KS for providing me with a clean and comfortable hotel for my stay during the Glass Blown Open (disc golf tournament).

Will stay at this hotel during our next trip by Emporia.

We have stayed at the other hotels at this Emporia exit and like La Quinta the best for value, friendliness and ease of access.

This is a must stay if you are in Emporia KS.

We will stay there any time we are in the Emporia area!

I would stay again if I were on a trip through Emporia.

Emporia, Kansas is an interesting place with a diverse historical district for dining and shopping.

I stopped in Emporia and stayed at this La Quinta right off of the interstate.

The La Quinta Inns and Suites in Emporia, Kansas is a great place to stay.

However, at the lobby entrance the La Quinta brand door carpets were exceptionally dirty, not a good first impression. Then there was breakfast, more to the point out of hot breakfast items as the housekeeping staff was eating before the guests who were not up at 6:30. i was told "oh, they're making more."

The only issues I had was that there was trash in the parking lot just outside the main entrance that was not picked up the 2 days I was there.

They are doing some remodeling - the front entrance and sidewalk were under construction.

Despite the construction and no lobby entrance, things are still good at the La Quinta.

Drove around the motel and found an outside entrance.

In this was a note apologizing for the front entrance not being open because of remodeling.

There was a lot of construction at the main entrance so guests have to walk around to the side of the building, then down an inside hall to reach the lobby.

The only downside, was my room was 2 doors away from"new entrance" so it was noisy with people coming in and leaving.

However, the entrance construction work required a detour to a side entrance.

Because the hotel had no security cameras and no front entrance, I lost valuable time struggling with doors, my belongings, construction, and a poor device to transport belongings.

The front entrance was inacessable and as a result, they left the hall doors open all night.

The entrance was not ADA accessible, and under construction.

Next morning, we enjoyed a cup of coffee.

Rooms were clean and nicely equipped with fridge, microwave & flat screen TV.

The receptionist was very helpful and was going to report our concern about no freezer in our refrigerator.

Having the microwave and fridge was great for having refreshments.

It had a king bed, two nightstands, a comfortable chair, a large desk, and a large 4-drawer bureau with a fridge and microwave.

The room is bigger plus it has a refrigerator!

but the large room was clean, comfortable, and well appointed with fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, comfortable couch and decent bedding.

The room also had a sofa, small dining table, refrigerator, & microwave.

The breakfast included the Jimmy Dean type bacon & egg and sausage & egg sandwiches which you heat in the microwave along with a choice of cereals etc.

When I walked in this hotel, the front desk area was very cluttered and the hotel had an obviously old air filter and old, if any, dehumidifier.

You can easily walk to a couple of decent restaurants nearby and the Starbuck's across the parking lot makes for an easy getaway cup of coffee for the road.

I could hear the traffic a little bit so you may want to request a room away from the highway.

That is incorrect, as when we arrived and asked where to park, the individual stated that they were really not set up for that type of thing.

Asked for full refund given 15% for a no sleep night very poor.

Per our reservation request, we were given a room next to the side door for easy dog in and out.

I was in town for a Dr. appointment, I called to make a reservation, with request for ground level room.

I've had a problem with my Rewards account previously and when the man at the check in asked, I told him not to worry about using it, cause I've had problems with it  He worked on it, and had it ready for me the next morning when we checked out, without me even asking!

I called and asked if they would honor this voucher?

As I stood there in disbelief, I asked him what cause he had to call the police.

We had also asked that the sheets be changed and it was quite obvious that nothing had been done aside from straightening the pillows and pulling up the comforter.

I asked at the front desk about the adjacent Montana Mike's Steakhouse and was told they offer a 10% discount if you show the hotel room key.

It’s at a great location with several food options, Walmart and easy access to major highways.

There are several restaurants and a Walmart nearby.

It is located by several other hotels,  restaurants, a Starbucks, and a Walmart, so you should have everything you need close by.

The room was very clean with a very comfortable bed, and it was surprisingly quiet.

He said the rooms were clean, he felt safe and the staff was helpful and friendly.

but check in / check out was a breeze, breakfast was hot and plentiful with options, The staff was competent, room was clean, everything worked.

From the friendly, efficient, helpful Gals at the front desk to the comfort of the beds and the room furnishings to the cleanliness of our room to the excellent breakfast,  this Motel is one of the best we have stayed in for a long time, The Wyndham chain should be very proud of this location.

Will avoid in the future, pet room - holes in lamp shades AND MANY stains on the carpet.

The floor had obviously been “repaired” with a layer of plywood or something under the carpet and was awful to walk on.

The entire hotel smelled mildewy, and lo and behold, the entire carpet was soaking wet.

The floor had a carpet that looked like it should have been thrown out years ago.

The carpet is repaired in the hallway with duct tape, the furniture is shabby, and breakfast was incomplete.

The hallway carpet had an area that had a large "welcome mat" rug duct taped onto the floor, I guess covering some missing or damaged carpet.

The whole place smelled musty, the carpets were worn and the walls were thin.
