It’s a buffet style restaurant, there always something for everyone & it’s very clean.

but breakfast lunch and dinner was plentiful and tasty.

Fave nights were when they had a few Chinese bits on, delicious.

No sign of ‘Sun-bed wars’; we went down to the pool after breakfast at about 0900 most days and always plenty to choose from!

She did ask for a gluten free bread roll every morning

Breakfast omelettes were good and hot, just a shame about the rest.

The food is of good quality and an excellent selection of local, English, Italian, Spanish & other continental food.

There was plenty of choice of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Another great place in El Medano itself for breakfast is Cafe Ubuntu the breakfast for two is amazing see pic it also comes with smoothies.

The food was plentiful in the dining area, we especially enjoyed the cold salad selections.

The room was very spacious, the food delicious and the staff amazing.All facilities are just a great fit for a relaxing holiday.

Food was very good for an all inclusive (breakfast and lunch in particular were very good and varied - evening meals were a little repetitive

There was also porridge and cereal so definitely something for everyone.

When it comes to dining, the food at the resort was what you would expect from a standard holiday buffet.

1 week was enough, 2 weeks of this would get very repetitive and boring
Weirdly tea/coffee in the restaurant was only available at breakfast, and the machines closed off for lunch and dinner.

Breakfast and lunch so far have been outstanding

The housekeeping was definitely poor in the rooms with our beds not being changed throughout our stay and cups and spoons rinsed and still dirty.

The food is very poor and options for vegetarians is nearly non existent.

Food in the restaurant was poor, limited choice, never hot and just low  in quality.

The food for the first 2 days was poor and would have only warranted only 2 Stars

For a hotel with nothing around this is a poor excuse for entertainment.

I have never been to a hotel with such poor service.

The chairs in the dining room were very  dirty, on a lot of tables,  with ground in food in the chairs, the entertainment  was very poor, daytime was a mixture of some pool games and darts etc.

The evening entertainment was very poor, during a music quiz the Spanish compere spoke too quickly, gave us very little time to answer and had difficulty using the machine.

When the restaurant is closed don't expect snacks from the pool bar, ice cream is chargeable as are snacks, very poor for all inclusive.

However, the drinks in the bar were very poor, they didn't even have tomato juice for a bloody mary.

Previously the food had been good, we assume this is cost cutting using very poor ingredients.

I have never before seen so much wasted food left on plates in a restaurant and don’t understand a hotel which will tolerate such poor standards of cooking.

Unfortunately we wouldn’t recommend staying at this hotel on the basis of poor food quality and windy location.,

Entertainment was very poor and limited as well, ( as I said earlier, my personnel option), also staff at this hotel are not the friendliest, (friendly when clearing plates etc, from your table, buy bar staff could be grumpy), hotel is close to airport, so good for transfers, you do hear planes overhead,

Snacks, I was directed to a vending machine when I asked about crisps, very poor for an all inclusive.

but just when everything else is so poor, this certainly does not help.

Drinks were a bit poor for 4*, gin & tonic was undrinkable unless you wanted to pay premium.

On the other hand, the choice of AI alcoholic spirits and cocktails was poor.

Oldish hotel in the middle of nowhere, poor quality food and drinks, practically no housekeeping.

The hot plate where meats were prepared looked filthy…same condition for breakfast where eggs were prepared.

The hotel was clean the rooms were good quality and the food was very enjoyable with a great choice for a buffet x 
The evening entertainment was great especially the tribute band was especially good the outfits were excellent taking us back through the eighties and nineties up-to the present day simply fabulous

The food in the buffet was average, the grilled meats are nice

There is a chef that cooks fresh fish and meat for you to enjoy, which was always delicious.

Positives

- apartments are huge and big balcony

- The food in the buffet was extremely close to the same every night with next to no selection or even an option for the kids.

A must are the different Restaurants you have the main Restaurant which is Buffet style the cuisine is tremendous something for everyone from an extensive Salad bar with Cheeses, Fish and Cooked meats to left you have Fish,Meat cooked in sauces and Vegetable area also, at the back you will find a grill area where you can choose to have Fish or Meat cooked the way you like it.

Food was very good with plenty of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Breakfast was what you would expect, perhaps on the average side.

Food is buffet style with a hot section, a salad section and desserts as well as a live grill.

The buffet restaurant is a decent size and nice and clean,with staff always cleaning up after guests.

Meat was undercooked, raw hash browns at breakfast.

the chocolate sauce in the dispenser out on the buffet is gluten free (or at least was when we were there)
There’s a lot of stuff on the buffet that he could have had if it wasn’t for cross contamination so we would have a look and then the chef would cook his separately. For lunch and dinner he had a mixture of grilled chicken, roast chicken, porn loin steaks, beef steak, chicken kebab, fish (he loved this!!)

Mixing ingredients like mushrooms, onions and peppers at breakfast when just plain mushrooms would do.

In drinkable and cheap and nasty , having lived in the golf for 7 years there are plenty of wines out there that are better and not expensive, choices of a/I drinks poor and very again cheap quality of drinks , it’s such a shame because if they improved the choices in the buffet restaurant and drinks menu it would be a good hotel , once again staff were lovely even making my birthday special Thankyou , spice restaurant was fantastic my highlight of the week as food and wine was fab

We only ate breakfast once in the restaurant and it was very good.

Featuring specialty dining as an alternative to the buffet area.

I can say the breakfast service was great, a good selection of English foods as well as other stuff.

Midweek you only have the option of going in the inside restaurant (where the food is the same everyday for lunch and dinner) or a pre made sandwich and some cold chips outside.

— the daytime buffet bar was pretty grim unless u like eating cold chips or a soggy sandwich.

Our air conditioning worked fine, we just made sure we kept the doors shut, the living room one was so good my daughter asked if we could switch it if as was so cold she couldn’t sleep, we did have one problem in the room and that was our bathroom light fell down

The ‘air conditioning’ did not make the room cold, we had to shut the curtains to make sure the room was cool for when we returned after the pool, when we told reception they did send the engineer to look at it who said it was working

It was freezing cold , smelled strange and had a mop and bucket in the corner.

The water was lovely and refreshing, not too cold.

Seen reviews of people complaining about the temperature of the pool all I can say is some people love a good moan if they can find nothing else wrong … yes the pools are cold

Food was good - as the hotel was less than half full the food would be left to go a little cold at times, particularly at breakfast.

but not exceptional - and once for lunch, which was very disappointing, most food was cold.

Food was cold and tasteless, all inclusive drinks were disgusting!

The concierge service was cold and not welcoming.

Lunch was a variety everyday including pizza, chips, sandwich stuff, cold pastas, cheeses, meats etc.

No big deal as we had some great food and a cold beer at the Wild Geese bar just down the road.

although couldn’t understand why it was called that as there was nothing to show for this extra cost🙁
The food,well breakfast was ok with plenty of choice from hot to cold food tea coffee juice all from vending machines. .

Restaurant was not that much better with cold food , not replenished when finished !

The food is lukewarm I not too keen on cold chips - they need to seriously look after the food as so far only arrived yesterday so evening meal soup was lovely

Heated pool is a bonus as the other pool was far too cold to swim in.

I do not go away to a supposedly 5* resort to have to buy my own food&drink&spend as little time as possible in the all-inclusive hotel I’ve paid for, as it was so poor. I’ve noted from previous reviews (now I’ve looked!)

Entertainment is poor (of 5 nights so far, 4 were organised by the TWO in house entertainment staff, with the other being a pretty poor couple tribute act).

but poor in our room we could use it to check emails etc but thats all,the HDMI Port in our Tv was also disabled so we could not use a firestick on our rainy day.

Also, I felt sorry for the poor staff as some of them were soaking from the lack of air-con.

but could be repetitive but this can be broken up by the superb theme nights , the Indian especially was excellent

- the air conditioning in the apartments was poor
- no outside seating / bar area to sit at night which restricts you to the indoor bar at night , which also got very hot  , it meant most nights although AI we went over to the Irish bar.

Air con is poor in all communal areas so this is not a pleasant experience.

The dinner buffet options were poor and my poor children have eaten pizza, chips and fruit.

Hotel staff and rooms I have no complaints, clean and comfortable, my only complaint is the buffet restaurant, very poor low quality choice of food and poor salad bar as it was the same meats every night a choice of salami or chorizo, no hams or prawns or other meats , well house wine what can I say it must be the worse ever red wine I have tasted !!

Admittedly the hotel agreed standard were poor!

but the quality of the food was so, so poor.

One last thing this hotel is equipped all around the hotel with WiFi mikrotik broadband devises situated on flag poles on a 360 degrees all the way around the hotel the best WiFi I gave found is to log on to the outdoor network as the room network is pretty poor hope this helps 😆

The kitchen door was also missing a door handle and soundproofing was poor as I could hear people in other apartments talking/moving furniture late at night.

but a mixed review here as with some effort/ changes this could be a good review, rather than "poor".

7pm till 11pm other than that there is an outdoor pool bar and for the size of the hotel that's poor.

I fully expected to want to eat out a lot more due to the poor quality of the food.

It was in a dark dingy room with no air conditioning no access to sit outside, and was very very poor quality.

this is not a five star rated hotel staff levels were poor not enough a times especially at reception one life guard for three pools some  places in pools not visible to life guard.

Very tired and dated rooms, poor quality food and drinks, poor entertainment, poor location and no atmosphere, sadly struggling to find any positives - very boring old hotel.

The only little issue is the noise as you can hear people through the walls and the hotel could do with some aircon in the room as it gets very hot.

There's no air conditioning in most of the rooms which is ridiculous for Tenerife where the temperature is usually 20 degrees plus.

Only soft drinks and food (which isn't even in the hotel, and also wasn't stated on the website) there was also no air conditioning in our room as it says online so our first night we had to move all our stuff to a different room due to difficulties breathing as the inside of the room was warmer that outside, only good thing was that it wasnt expensive, 
Also at least 2 hour walk from most tourist attractions

Pool area is fan, only problem I'd have is after the wooden bit by the pool its concrete and being wet the amount of children I saw slip could be very dangerous.Maybe some mats near the pool would be beneficial especially by the kids pool.

The location is a little bit boring as not much in the local area and aircon was a little loud.

but sun is lacking (none)the units around needs some decoration attention.

Rooms clean that’s about it the air con is a joke the pull out bed I wouldn’t give to a homeless man this hotel is a self catering hotel only iv paid a lot of money to come hear an iv eaten out most night which I didn’t really want to do an as for the sister hotel more like a 3* never seen 5*

No air conditioning so be prepared for very little sleep.

The air con system keeps tripping out the electricity and the noise it makes on the balcony is deafening.

We were disappointed that our unit didn't have air conditioning which we had expected, on questioning this at reception we were informed that not all units have air con and that they only allocate RCI guests rooms with air con if this has been requested by RCI.

The only thing I would suggest would be if they could install air con in the rooms as the ceiling fans didn’t do enough.

The bad things I can comment are that the main pool is still freezing and you cannot stay in there too long.

The pool was not welcoming, freezing cold and no inflatables.

It had a very small water heater, that fit under the sink in the bathroom – it was not enough for two female showers.

Because of poor construction or older units, can hear all your neighbors inside as well.

The lady said she'll get them to do it in the morning which was fine with us as like we said it's the whole not having the air con and being sweaty at night which is why we would like some bedsheets which she was fine with.

The food is delicious plentiful and very reasonable and Jeremy makes a mean Sangria!

We rated his breakfast as one of the best we've ever had on holiday.

The hotel itself is a short walk to the marina and seafront where there are a good variety of bars and restaurants including the Pancake House which we can highly recommend.

I had include breakfast, wich is on other hotel, 5 min walk.

The food was faultless with plenty of choice at breakfast and evening meals.

They all inclusive is good Buffet was excellent nice variation each night, all inclusive bar is worth it local beer and spirits perfectly fine.

However we had our breakfast in the 5 star sister hotel next door and the selection of food was exceptional.

For 15 euros it was great value as an all you can eat/drink buffet.

Buffet style - the food was fresh, tasty and varied.

food was lovely in the hotel,  varied choice for us both and delicious!

Open from 4-5pm, no other food available until then, so fill up on breakfast.

The pool bar at the Albatros serves a varied breakfast, drinks and snacks during the day and has an evening menu.

The whole place is really nice to see and really clean, the only downside for us was that breakfast took place in the other bulding located outside the property.

Food and drink from the restaurant was decent prized and definetely delicious.

Buffet with a lot of different food , every night one different theme ( mexican , Italian, international , canary,Chinese) .

Our room was cleaned twice during our 1week stay and new towels/extra loo roll would be provided at no inconvenience.

Breakfast in neighbouring Golf Plaza Hotel-enormous room with breakfast buffet catering for the British guests (baked beans, sausages, hash browns).

Breakfast was probably the best meal of the day, full English

The food is great, breakfast is something to look forward too if you’re English as they do sausages, bacon and egg and if you aren’t English they also do a mixed variety of other selection.

Muthu Royal Park Albatros

The fresh breakfast is great and been able to eat it outside in the veranda was a most welcome treat.

Breakfast is nice with eggs any style prepared to your liking with cheese, meats, tomato, mushrooms and there is fresh fruit (islands banana's) available.

Memorable breakfasts on the veranda overlooking the sea were lovely.

Breakfast served on a sunny terrace overlooking the sea included delicious cooked options that far exceeded our expectations.

Nigel fixes everything you want for breakfast and helps with taxi and, as I say, everything else.

The British host is super nice and adorable so for that I gave it place max points -  we didn't have high expectation 

if you allergic for cats or you cast not like them - that's not a place for you

breakfast was nice, lot to choose with nice sea view in the terrace.

Nigel provided a substantial breakfast between 0830 and 10am on a terrace  protected from the elements

Visited Villa Las Dunas over New Year, rooms are clean and the breakfast provided by Nigel is very good, if visiting the area you could not find better value for money.

Breakfast options are amazing, from a simple continental breakfast to a full English is on offer.

But the "icing on the cake" was Nigel who was the most amazing, warm and friendly host - a genuinely lovely person who would do anything for you and treats you to the most delicious breakfast!

Nigel was a great host and the full breakfast on the terrace was the perfect way to start the day.

A standard English breakfast, omelette or even porridge are a few exemples.

We enjoyed the mornings a lot with Nigel's superb changing breakfast with view on the sea from the sunny terrace.

From our arrival he couldn't do enough for us, or the other guests, from the fabulous à la carte breakfasts, calling the boat trip company to confirm the pick up point, advising on beaches, restaurants, translating things that weren't in our dictionary (gofio, anyone?

but if you want anything or your room cleaned you only have to ask.

Also, the bathroom was a bit tired and not properly cleaned.

- Rooms are cleaned once a week, not on a daily basis.

There is an offer to clean your room everyday, personally we'd have liked to see this as something to be done automatically, a given; one shouldn't have to ask in our opinion.

We were in room 3 it always smelt of damp as we entered each day so not very welcoming- its very out dated & worn around the edges, not particularly clean rather dusty & the odd cobweb around, no fans or a/c or tv, very old fixtures & fittings - also little easy to fix things like The bathroom door was hard to close due to hitting a slightly raised tile which was annoying.

If you want English bars with wide screen tellies then El Medano  isn't the resort for you.

( And no TV - we had hoped to watch a bit of the Winter Olympics!)

but didn't offer many activities and the pool was freezing.

Air conditioning units in both the living area and bedroom.

-	Surrounding resorts also have quite loud entertainment on until about 10.30-11pm which was a bit annoying some evenings (we had the window open instead of aircon on to cool the room).

The only downside is that the bedroom ventilation also has a hole in the wall with a fan besides the ac.

But the friendly reception didn't waste time switching them.

Nothing is too much trouble on a previous stay our TV in room blew and I called reception at 10/11 at night to report it not expecting any thing to happen 1/2 hour later we had new TV.

We find the pool and bar area to be a bit like a holiday - which is great if you like that kind of thing - while the units just one row further back are quiet and restful.

A man from maintenance finally got it out after taking the unit apart.

Tip: Washing machine and fridge need updating in the studio apartment we stayed in, and an air vent is required in the bathroom.

Squeaky bathroom and bedroom doors, double bed made of 2 singles pushed together and uncomfortable in the middle, bathroom needs updating.

Apartment small/tiny, dated without air-conditioning.

I was unsure how the room would be as I was aware there was no airconditioning.

There is air conditioning as well as ceiling fans, a god send in hot conditions.

The fan was also very noisy so didn't use that.

There is no air conditioning just 2 fans that don’t really provide any sort of cooling.

We signed up for it and only then discovered at breakfast that it's continental buffet only.

but very good quality buffet that you can eat outside under a shady veranda.

It would of been good if you could of got breakfast sandwich or just toast from the restaurant

Evening menu was absolutely delicious!!

All the foods and drinks we have tried at the restaurant were delicious.

Also have to recconent The pancake cafe, a short walk away, I had a salad (poke) bowl which was amazing and the kids loved the pancakes! !

The  nearby pancake cafe is still serving delicious pancakes

Nice relaxing stay staff very friendly good buffet breakfast pool really good entertainment team excellent no pressure to join in if you don’t want to room good size massive bed could do with more stuff in kitchen if you want to cook a meal

However, the restaurant is a tragedy, especially breakfast, in addition to that the prices for food is not the lowest and it opens quite late (8:30) for us, so I would recommend to take the room,

The hotel itself is nice and I really enjoyed breakfast, it was always delicious.

although it may look expensive (euro / £ exchange) the portions are big and the food delicious.

Bar and food was perfect, especially the breakfasts.

The apartment was cleaned and towels changed and plentiful.

We would appreciate the shop opening in the morning to facilitate the needs of ourselves and others who like fresh bread, papers and the wonderful sausage rolls we used to have!

There’s a small and very clean supermarket just a 5 minute walk from the resort which has a pub nextdoor that serves food to eat in or take away and a pizza place next to the pub that makes delicious hand made pizzas in 10 mins.

but a little way out of and livelier areas for those wanting more than a restful week but taxi's are plentiful and good value

but serves a great breakfast at a reasonable price.

The La Isla bar/bistro served excellent breakfast and lunch along with drinks at very reasonable prices…and the burgers were particularly delicious.
