This isn't often the case with hotels where they can tend to look at children as a nuisance.

Had to walk down the road and round to the front, we would of liked to bring our case in from car

Arrived mid morning so asked the receptionist if we leave our bags with them and if there was a hotel car park, was told that no car park

although it was fairly small, there was plenty of room for my case etc.

We bought the last bag of crisps from the bar separately!

The lift is tiny and if you have bags larger than carry on luggage then your going to struggle to get two people in it, your better off walking up the stairs if possible.

but we were told that whilst we could use them they tended to be kept for late arrivals in case the on road parking is full.

although maybe there could have been two packets of hot choc in case we both fancied one.

Couldn't swing a cat, the décor absolutely awful, the toilet seat broken and a struggle up and down steps with the bags.

An ideally situated hotel for holiday, or in our case a one night stop over following journey from France on Ferry.

just in case I couldn't get in for next time!

but to get to many of the rooms there are steep steps, as was the case with our room.

Bit of a nightmare when you have 3 cases and 2 miserable teenagers after a long car journey and the next morning it's torrential rain!

Rooms are very small, we had trouble with our 2 suitcases as there wasnt any room for more than one.

however decided we wouldn't move the car all weekend in case we lost our parking place.

I paid extra for a room at front so I could have reliable wifi, I phoned in advance to check on this, I was told it was hit and miss to rear rooms ok at front, this was not the case as it kept loosing connection.

but both rooms cold because of the windows, which were in a terrible state of repair - it was a very windy day and the wind was whistling in, also noisy from passers by.

I had scrambled egg and beans with toast for breakfast, the toast was hardly toasted and beans were cold.

The weather wasn’t very warm while we visited so if it’s cooler when your staying, make sure you ask for the heating to be kept on rather than going off on the timer because it gets really quite cold through the night.

The breakfast was very poor: cheap ingredients,  and limited cold options(yoghurt).

It was a freezing cold December night and after what seemed like an endless journey we were thrilled to see the Seacrest sign.

However it wasn't cold and there was a small electric fan heater in the room .

Only little thing is felt room and bathroom was cold, could not work out how to put heating on

My husband is rather elderly and didn't want to wait around on a cold day so the hotel were very happy for him to sit in the warm lounger during the marathon and only go to the sea front to watch our daughter finish!

As we were there at the end of November it was very cold, 0 degrees at times

however first night was cold and central heating appeared to be off and it was an unseasonably cold night.

but a bit cold due to the fact front door splits the rooms up and draft enters when people come in and out.

Unfortunately there was no hot water on the Sunday morning, showers were cold.

I had one little complaint that the shower in our room didn't work correctly, the temperature was very erratic boiling hot then stone cold and it didn't matter where you put the dial.

but as with all UK hotels the toast came out too early and was cold once cooked food arrived.

Bathing the next morning was a struggle, getting my self out on the cold bathroom floor.

Tea and coffee facilities along with fresh cold water (bottled) were in the room.

The breakfast was nice, and friendly staff all round.

Lovely friendly staff, emaculate and clean furnishings.

but I have to say the best thing about this hotel is the team they are professional but so friendly they made our stay.

We were warmly welcomed by the friendly manager and the car parking was quickly sorted.

So glad we booked it, beautiful hotel with fabulous friendly staff.

Everything is spotlessly clean and the breakfast was delicious: high quality ingredients and served by lovely friendly and flexible staff.

We can't praise the staff highly enough, I don't think we have come across a friendlier team before, who all clearly want to provide a great customer experience and were all so friendly.

It is in a perfect location for exploring Southsea and Portsmouth and we had a fantastic view over the park, the solent and out to the Isle of Wight from our room.

If you want a good hotel, with lovely staff and tasty food, in a great location- you can't go wrong with this hotel.

This hotel is in a great location as there are plenty of places to visit locally on foot in Southsea, Portsmouth (we enjoyed Spinnaker Tower - 35 minute walk away) and Isle of Wight just  8 minutes away on a Hovercraft.

We loved the decor in the two lounges really fitted perfectly with the hotel,  it is a real little gem, in a prime position.

I wish we had stayed in for dinner as the offerings in the immediate area were pretty slim.

Southsea's bar and restaurants are only a short walk away.

but we were recommended the very good local gastro pub, where hotel guests receive a small discount.

Breakfast was superb with a varied menu, we loved the Waffles with maple syrup and the full English, which was pretty filling!

We were given plenty of information and recommendations for places to eat.

Breakfast was delicious with a reasonable choice of meals.

The breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choice and very tasty (they clearly have a good breakfast chef or 2) and again the staff were happy to set a table for 6 for us each morning, which meant we could all breakfast together.

Near the seafront and only 10 minutes from restaurant ,bars and shops.

Breakfast in the morning was one of the best I have had anywhere, I didn't need to eat anything else during the day.

It’s also only a 2 minute walk from some amazing restaurants, bonus.

Breakfast was very good with a great menu to choose from plus the usual cereals, again staff couldn’t do enough for you.

Breakfast was served in the basement restaurant and was of a very high standard.

Negative points were room was very small & compact, bed was a very small double & heating is on timer that switches off at 11pm regardless of whether your room is cold so not the best nights sleep.

but found the twin room a bit on the small side and probably more comfortable for one person.

The room was quite small, room 24 I think and the bed was about as small as you could get while still calling it a double.

That said, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay - the staff are very attentive, the bar is a lovely bonus and there was a great choice for breakfast.

We have been overwhelmed by the friendliness and level of service at the Seacrest ever since our first visit in 2014 and it's great to see that even with new staff that friendliness has not changed.

We would not stay again because of the bed and the steep stairs to the restaurant

The lift was very prompt, so we never tried the stairs.

I asked the chap downstairs , where’s the breakfast room please , “ Down stairs “ great , just as I moved

although there are stairs down to the dining room.

but they could accommodate you if unable to make the stairs.

but the website makes that quite clear, so I knew there would only be that one flight of stairs to deal with - and there are handrails on both sides, which is a huge help.

Breakfast is served in a room downstairs and only way to get to it is a flight of stairs.My partner has walking difficulties so could not make the stairs as the lift dose not go down to that level.They were so accommodating by setting up a table upstairs in the sitting room for us, we felt very special.

but that was after I blocked the light coming under the door and when I woke in the morning all I could smell was breakfast cooking as we were at the top of the stairs from the restaurant and kitchen.

but the instructions in the room were not good, we could not see the emergency lighting from our room and the flight of stairs up from first floor to our room were unlit.

Our room was booked late it was on the third floor accessed by stairs or a small lift.

but its a shame was winter so couldn't see it, in the ebvening, there is a mini bar down stairs which was a reasonable price.

If you struggle with stairs this hotel isn't for you.

Secondly, there are steps up to the front door, and this, coupled with the fact that the dining room is in the basement, would rule out the venue for anyone who cannot climb stairs.

although the stairs down to the restaurant  would be challenging for less able-bodied customers.

The views of the ships, the Solent and beyond are fantastic.

Seaview room is a must as can watch the comings and goings at Spithead.

We stayed in a superior king size with sea view, which, as with the rest of the hotel, was beautifully decorated.

However that didn’t spoil things, the room was lovely, we didn’t have a sea view

The rooms and en suite bathrooms were beautiful - we had booked rooms that had sea views, everything was spotlessly clean and had excellent facilities.

We stayed here for one night in a king sized sea view room which was lovely.

We had a reasonably priced double room with sea view that was lovely and comfortable.

but if you want a sea view then that has to be tolerated.

We stayed in an apartment with two rooms and a central lounge with fantastic sea views.

Our room overlooked the gardens & sea and I loved the wallpaper.

We stayed at the lakeside hotel for one night with dinner breakfast and spa treatments.

Lunch was delicious and the waiters and waitresses were very friendly and attentive.

The food at the buffet left me severely disenchanted the items had been sitting in bain maries for ages which made food very dry.

The food is of a very high standard we ate breakfast and also dined in the evening and it is the standard you would get from a high class restaurant.

Everything I ate was delicious and of a good quality.

but did have our breakfasts and dinner reservations.

My wife and I stayed for 7 nights at the Lakeside Park Hotel mid October having booked an accomodation, dinner & breakfast deal through the offpeakluxuary web site.

We went to a Friends wedding reception at the Lakeside Park Hotel , its  a lovely location and the staff are super  friendly and helpful .

Despite reading many unfavourable reviews for this hotel we could not disagree more.The staff were very friendly anf helpfull, the rooms, large and comfortable with a lovely lake view, serviced daily .The breakfast was buffet style with lots of choice.

Lake grounds are lovely - peaceful and tranquil.

Whilst others rushed to the jacuzzi if a space were to become available - far from being the relaxed experience intended.

The location was quiet and relaxing and just what was needed

The spa and bubble lounge was so relaxing we had a lovely lady called danni go above and beyond to make sure our time there was perfect.

We had a nice relaxing time and found the spa treatments fairly priced and a good experience.

The pool and the indoor and outdoor jacuzzi's made our day so relaxing.

Overall it was a comfortable and relaxing hotel and we would return.

We had beautiful views of the lake and everything about it was tranquil and calm.

Lovely experience in the spa with treatments of a massage and hand ritual with Karen which was amazing I was made to feel welcome and very relaxed highly recommended.

I have the most amazing sleep there rooms are so dark when you close the blinds and it's just so quiet there I really really find it relaxing being here I'm really do like this hotel I can't recommend it enough probably the next time I go.

The Brasserie is nice and relaxed and the food is great quality Brasserie Food .

It most certainly was a beautiful and relaxing place that’s for sure.

however friends who had the executive double rooms were equally comfortable.The surroundings and ambience are tranquil  restful and the food -including afternoon tea and dinner etc - divine.

Overall if you like modern hotels we would recommend Lakeside Spa for a relaxing break.

I have said this before it is the best restaurant and hotel on the island set in lovely grounds where you can spend all day relaxing.

We were then not asked for any further information regarding our health conditions  yet we had stated this on the form.

we had to request bread - juices - yogurts as they were all depleted and staff mostly young to be fair obviously were not trained to replenish until requested by the customers.

We wasn’t asked if we wanted more tea or coffee.

On day 2 we asked for our wet towels to be changed as room service had just put them back on the towel rail.

Initially we were given a room with disable access and asked if they could change it for us in case someonE' else who may need it, which were action.
