The breakfast was nice, and friendly staff all round.

We received a warm welcome on arrival with a full debrief about bar opening times, breakfast etc.

Breakfast was superb plus Lenuta who worked behind front desk and the bar.

My partner and I stayed here in June for 2 nights, amazing clean room and fabulous breakfast.

The hotel has a nice bar and breakfast is taken in the basement dining room with an excellent choice of food.

Breakfast was excellent, good choice and freshly cooked.

That said, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay - the staff are very attentive, the bar is a lovely bonus and there was a great choice for breakfast.

Breakfast at Seacrest is an absolute delight, I had eggs royale one morning and the veggie breakfast on the other morning, both were fantastic.

This isn't often the case with hotels where they can tend to look at children as a nuisance.

Had to walk down the road and round to the front, we would of liked to bring our case in from car

Arrived mid morning so asked the receptionist if we leave our bags with them and if there was a hotel car park, was told that no car park

although it was fairly small, there was plenty of room for my case etc.

We bought the last bag of crisps from the bar separately!

The lift is tiny and if you have bags larger than carry on luggage then your going to struggle to get two people in it, your better off walking up the stairs if possible.

but we were told that whilst we could use them they tended to be kept for late arrivals in case the on road parking is full.

although maybe there could have been two packets of hot choc in case we both fancied one.

Couldn't swing a cat, the décor absolutely awful, the toilet seat broken and a struggle up and down steps with the bags.

An ideally situated hotel for holiday, or in our case a one night stop over following journey from France on Ferry.

just in case I couldn't get in for next time!

but to get to many of the rooms there are steep steps, as was the case with our room.

Bit of a nightmare when you have 3 cases and 2 miserable teenagers after a long car journey and the next morning it's torrential rain!

Rooms are very small, we had trouble with our 2 suitcases as there wasnt any room for more than one.

however decided we wouldn't move the car all weekend in case we lost our parking place.

I paid extra for a room at front so I could have reliable wifi, I phoned in advance to check on this, I was told it was hit and miss to rear rooms ok at front, this was not the case as it kept loosing connection.

but both rooms cold because of the windows, which were in a terrible state of repair - it was a very windy day and the wind was whistling in, also noisy from passers by.

I had scrambled egg and beans with toast for breakfast, the toast was hardly toasted and beans were cold.

The weather wasn’t very warm while we visited so if it’s cooler when your staying, make sure you ask for the heating to be kept on rather than going off on the timer because it gets really quite cold through the night.

The breakfast was very poor: cheap ingredients,  and limited cold options(yoghurt).

It was a freezing cold December night and after what seemed like an endless journey we were thrilled to see the Seacrest sign.

However it wasn't cold and there was a small electric fan heater in the room .

Only little thing is felt room and bathroom was cold, could not work out how to put heating on

My husband is rather elderly and didn't want to wait around on a cold day so the hotel were very happy for him to sit in the warm lounger during the marathon and only go to the sea front to watch our daughter finish!

As we were there at the end of November it was very cold, 0 degrees at times

however first night was cold and central heating appeared to be off and it was an unseasonably cold night.

but a bit cold due to the fact front door splits the rooms up and draft enters when people come in and out.

Unfortunately there was no hot water on the Sunday morning, showers were cold.

I had one little complaint that the shower in our room didn't work correctly, the temperature was very erratic boiling hot then stone cold and it didn't matter where you put the dial.

but as with all UK hotels the toast came out too early and was cold once cooked food arrived.

Bathing the next morning was a struggle, getting my self out on the cold bathroom floor.

Tea and coffee facilities along with fresh cold water (bottled) were in the room.

Had fabulous weekend at Seacrest, location very good for all things to do.

A good location, a few minutes walk from Southsea pier, and a 30 min walk to Gunwharf Quay.

Really good location for any sightseeing.

It is in a perfect location for exploring Southsea and Portsmouth and we had a fantastic view over the park, the solent and out to the Isle of Wight from our room.

If you want a good hotel, with lovely staff and tasty food, in a great location- you can't go wrong with this hotel.

For the price and location, this was exceptional.

The location, appearance and cleanliness are all top notch.

This hotel is in a great location as there are plenty of places to visit locally on foot in Southsea, Portsmouth (we enjoyed Spinnaker Tower - 35 minute walk away) and Isle of Wight just  8 minutes away on a Hovercraft.

The hotel was in a great position,  not too far away from Portsmouth town and the Naval museums.

The hotel is in a great location on a residential street overlooking the Solent.

the hotel is very nicely decorated, very quaint, it has large bedrooms and comfortable beds with very good quality Wi-Fi.

We loved the decor in the two lounges really fitted perfectly with the hotel,  it is a real little gem, in a prime position.

This hotel oozed charm from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the decor, the location and the staff.

I wish we had stayed in for dinner as the offerings in the immediate area were pretty slim.

Southsea's bar and restaurants are only a short walk away.

but we were recommended the very good local gastro pub, where hotel guests receive a small discount.

Breakfast was superb with a varied menu, we loved the Waffles with maple syrup and the full English, which was pretty filling!

We were given plenty of information and recommendations for places to eat.

Breakfast was delicious with a reasonable choice of meals.

Food spectacular, room service immaculate and all round stunning building

The breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choice and very tasty (they clearly have a good breakfast chef or 2) and again the staff were happy to set a table for 6 for us each morning, which meant we could all breakfast together.

Near the seafront and only 10 minutes from restaurant ,bars and shops.

Breakfast in the morning was one of the best I have had anywhere, I didn't need to eat anything else during the day.

It’s also only a 2 minute walk from some amazing restaurants, bonus.

Breakfast was very good with a great menu to choose from plus the usual cereals, again staff couldn’t do enough for you.

Breakfast was served in the basement restaurant and was of a very high standard.

Negative points were room was very small & compact, bed was a very small double & heating is on timer that switches off at 11pm regardless of whether your room is cold so not the best nights sleep.

but found the twin room a bit on the small side and probably more comfortable for one person.

The room was quite small, room 24 I think and the bed was about as small as you could get while still calling it a double.

Their sea-view room was really quite small, and the sea-view certainly did not live up to expectation.

We would not stay again because of the bed and the steep stairs to the restaurant

The lift was very prompt, so we never tried the stairs.

I asked the chap downstairs , where’s the breakfast room please , “ Down stairs “ great , just as I moved

although there are stairs down to the dining room.

but they could accommodate you if unable to make the stairs.

but the website makes that quite clear, so I knew there would only be that one flight of stairs to deal with - and there are handrails on both sides, which is a huge help.

Breakfast is served in a room downstairs and only way to get to it is a flight of stairs.My partner has walking difficulties so could not make the stairs as the lift dose not go down to that level.They were so accommodating by setting up a table upstairs in the sitting room for us, we felt very special.

but that was after I blocked the light coming under the door and when I woke in the morning all I could smell was breakfast cooking as we were at the top of the stairs from the restaurant and kitchen.

but the instructions in the room were not good, we could not see the emergency lighting from our room and the flight of stairs up from first floor to our room were unlit.

Our room was booked late it was on the third floor accessed by stairs or a small lift.

but its a shame was winter so couldn't see it, in the ebvening, there is a mini bar down stairs which was a reasonable price.

If you struggle with stairs this hotel isn't for you.

Secondly, there are steps up to the front door, and this, coupled with the fact that the dining room is in the basement, would rule out the venue for anyone who cannot climb stairs.

although the stairs down to the restaurant  would be challenging for less able-bodied customers.

Just the hallway and stairs need a little updating.

Had a lovely clean room overlooking the sea.

The views of the ships, the Solent and beyond are fantastic.

Seaview room is a must as can watch the comings and goings at Spithead.

We stayed in a superior king size with sea view, which, as with the rest of the hotel, was beautifully decorated.

However that didn’t spoil things, the room was lovely, we didn’t have a sea view

The rooms and en suite bathrooms were beautiful - we had booked rooms that had sea views, everything was spotlessly clean and had excellent facilities.

We stayed here for one night in a king sized sea view room which was lovely.

We had a reasonably priced double room with sea view that was lovely and comfortable.

but if you want a sea view then that has to be tolerated.

Superb hotel, excellent staff and nice sea view.

We stayed in an apartment with two rooms and a central lounge with fantastic sea views.

Our room overlooked the gardens & sea and I loved the wallpaper.

We had one of the larger seaview rooms which catered for our needs and had all the relevant amenities.

I personally felt quite claustrophobic especially in the bathrooms.

They use eco friendly (superfood) shower gel and shampoo, I was a bit worried when they mentioned kale

Shower hose had sharp edges breaking through the temporary repairs attempted on it.

The room was not large, and the bathroom was small.

For £180 a night the room was basic with a small bathroom.

The room was really small and the bathroom was small with a mouldy shower.

They put us in a very stuffy family room with a minuscule toilet and bathroom with no working ventilators, no working air-conditioning and windows that could barely crack open to let in some fresh air.

- the bathroom in one of our double rooms (522) was so small that the door hit the toilet when it was opened!

but I can not get used to sitting on square toilet seats, if my derrière was square maybe but I find them uncomfortable.

but I don’t know what standard they grade against as you can see from the picture - in the bathroom sink area there was strange white stains everywhere?!?!?!

Really?squished tiny shower room, where we kept banging our elbows, I could go on and on about how awful it was!

There was mould around the shower screen and a broken bath plug.

The room was so filthy, the bathroom was not cleaned, I had to quickly flush the toilet and there was a hair on the toilet seat.

In morning looked at the plumbing, rust and evidence of brown leaks up the wall and on the carpet hidden by the curtains.

After our first night we went out from about 10 am and returned at 4 pm hoping to get a shower.

The Aircon unit was mobile unit stuck on top of a chair, extraction did not work in bathroom, aerial was held in with a bit of sticky tape.

Arrived in good time, registered car for parking, shower didn’t work, tv didn’t work and toiletries were empty, second day only one towel left in room despite there being two guests

Breakfast great they have everything you could want.

Breakfast was the best part and Raquel is wasted in my eyes kept every together friendly and a true professional also a shout out to  Terri another friendly member of staff in the breakfast  area check out was as slow as checking in .. Cant say a lot about the room as requested a preuim room got a standard room .. IHG HOTELGROUP NEED to send some mystery shoppers in here and see for your selves

The bar area is lovely and relaxing the staff are very friendly the breakfast was lovely and there was nothing really I could fault.

The breakfast was satisfactory, they had a vast selection of hot and cold buffet style items, replenish regularly

As soon as we walked through the door, we were greeted by the kindest receptionist lady who, upon going through our room details, kept us informed with what we had access to, such as swimming pool, bar and free breakfast access.

There was a wide selection for breakfast to suit all.

This hotel like many IHG hotels pushes the fact the breakfast as the main reason to stay.

We found breakfast excellent with a huge choice.

An immaculate, comfortable room and public areas, friendly welcoming staff on reception, great bar staff and restaurant staff (nice to see Sally again) and delicious meals all contributed to a fantastic break!

Breakfast is good with plenty to choose from.

The food was great and the range of choice at breakfast was lovely.

Breakfast both days was exceptional and I noted the same Chef managed both the Friday and Saturday mornings.

Restaurant breakfast team were friendly and welcoming.

The Stay and Dine Option is very good value as breakfast is a real feast of cooked food and a continental option, the evening meal also offered a good menu and super service.

+  Location of hotel is excellent with only approx 15/20 minute walk to Spinnaker tower/designer shopping outlets at Gunwharf Keys and 5/10 minute walk to Clarence Pier crazy golf/fair/beach.

ideal location for clarence pier and hovercraft to the Isle of Wight.

The hotel is on the west end of Southsea common, less than half a mile from Gunwharf keys and a couple of hundred metres from Clarence pier, Isle of Wight hovercrafts and the beach.

The hotel is located in Old Portsmouth, 5 minutes from the seafront including Clarence Pier and the Hovercraft to the Isle of Wight.

This hotel is on the Portsmouth harbour front, a few minutes walk from Clarence pier with arcades, funfair, minigolf etc.

The hotel location is good, relatively quiet, right opposite Southsea common and just a few minutes walk to Clarence Pier and the hovercraft terminal.

5 Minutes walk across Green to Seafront & Clarence Pier.

Location is the key here with easy walnut access to both Old and ‘new’ Portsmouth, Clarence Pier and The Hovercraft Terminal and  Southsea.

The location of the hotel is very convenient, being on the border between Portsmouth & Southsea, almost opposite Clarence Pier.

Well placed hotel, across the road from Clarence Pier and about a 10 minutes walk from the shops and restaurants of gunwharf quay and the spinnaker tower.

For me, the hotel was ideally situated about 2 minute walk from Clarence Pier and National Express coach terminus,( I had doubts about the car paling at the hotel,

but very near to the Southsea’s Clarence Pier.

The hotel is within walking distance of the seafront and Clarence Pier (with hovercraft to Isle of Wight) and is extremely well served by buses, except on a Sunday evening when the bus service stops at 7.30pm.

It's in a great location for Southsea shops and seafront and Gunwharf Quays (15 minute easy walk) and is tucked back from Clarence Pier so not noisy.

A 5 minute walk to the Clarence Pier (carnival & video games, great for kids & families) and the sea wall.

c) Clarence Pier is 5 min walk from hotel and has play area, rides and games for kids, for the older kids there is a hovercraft ride to Isle of Wright.

The hotel is in a good position, just a short walk to Gunwarf Quays and even shorter to Clarence Pier and Southsea.

The seafront and Clarence Pier was a short walk away.

Clarence Pier is a five minute walk, at most.

Good location, short walk  to the seaside (Clarence Pier - I wouldn't bother) and probably 15/20 minutes to Gunwharf Quay. Nice common areas, didnt try the pool

Hopefully some improvements to the room as rates keep going up!

Was a little disappointed to find out we had to pay for parking on top.

You have to pay £5 a day to park on-site as soon as you check in.

but due to the way the booking is done with rates the hotel deactived our keys on day 2 and they had to be redone which was a bit frustrating.

I explained my situation ref; the pricing, his initial response was to suggest there MUST have been something else on my order.

This is an expensive hotel to stay in, with the rooms seriously overpriced.

I told her I’ve stayed in many holiday inn’s and never been refused a copy of my bill and she still wouldn’t give me a copy - I needed this to claim on my expenses.

Also, charging us £5 parking per day, I believe this is so expensive.

To think we paid extra for this room, save your money.

Executive rooms are not worth the additional cost.

Expensive drinks to which a service charge was automatically added!

but they finish at 10 as then the club closes, but only gets paid till 10.

We’ve paid for a service and expect to get it without having to complain.

but have used others in the last 5 years ,,  Parking was arranged  elsewhere as reading the hotel website its first come first served all be it more cost effective at the hotel so please take this in when checking in and giving the staff a hard time .. We had a executive room and since covid these can be seen to not be as they used to be however it was clean and tidy and did what it needed we were not spending all day there .

but the worst is yet to come, four days after arriving home I received a very threatening parking fine £100 for 43 minutes parking in hotel car park that I had pre paid for.Hotel desk assistant was extremely rude stating that it was not the hotel’s fault but a computer error.

although there were no complaints with the offer, the meals were nothing to write home about and the bill was expensive in comparison with neighbouring restaurants.

I would never have booked this hotel and paid extra for a pool if I knew my children could not use it especially as the break was a deal for children.
