I didn’t feel even I was in center of Colombo.

Cinnamon grand lobby could be the center of attention for all the foodies who would flock here for an evening bite made out of all the succulent ingredients and mouth watering recipes .

There is a fitness centre and a lovely big pool, there is also a shopping centre in the adjoining building.

Situated in the centre of the city colombo and easily reachable.

but not least, the location of Cinnmon Grand is great - right at Galle road in the city centre close to the beach and with a walking distance to Galle Face shopping mall.

Also in the arcade of this hotel is a shopping centre for clothing,groceries and local cafes with very affordable meals.

It was right near the beach, an easy walk to some lovely jewellery stores, and it has a supermarket and small shopping centre right beside it which was really convenient.

Well located (although i think for getting out and about for shopping/restaurants etc, others like the Kingsbury/Hilton are better) in the centre of the city.

You would be missing out on an incredible international experience offered in the center of Colombo! .

People keep stopping by the beautiful fountain in the center to take selfies.

The hotel is also situated in a very convenient location, so close to everything and the adjoining shopping centre is great.

The coffee bar is also nice, with a yummy selection of cakes and savouries.There is a nice little shopping mall next to the hotel (I thought it was better than the much bigger and newer City Centre Mall), and we also ate in the food court there one night, which was great fun and we had a fantastic meal for about £1.50 each!

The shopping mall attached to the hotel is convenient with a grocery, liquor shop and pharmacy in the basement of the centre.

It’s located on the main Galle Road, close to Galle Face Green and the city centre (Fort).

Great live music with a three piece band.

Beautiful ambiance with relaxing Sinhalese music performed by a live band.

Loved the upbeat music that comes on around 1730.

Good music on the background: Milan who was looking at our table was on the ball to serve us better feeling like home .

Decided to stay till late night in the tea lounge since there was an amazing band playing some soothing music.

Walked into an amazing jazz saturday night.

Also nice environment and calm music feel better experience

Would say Thank you for great service from Andhika, Wasalage, Krishmal, and Dananjaya, that made our dinner more memorable with accompanied by beautiful music and very tasty and spicy tradisional food of Srilanka.

My kids were right on top and amused by lovely background live music.

There was also live Sri Lankan music which was very calming.

Good food, good Ambiance, Variety of food, best place to try Sri Lankan food, love the outdoor setting combined with Sri Lankan music,   value  for money.

And live music also there and there are really good.

People were friendly and music was balanced.

The props and set up resemble a typical village with live classical music and traditional dance.

And in comparison with the buffet restaurant of the Cinnamon hotel in Maldives some food options were quite poor.

The only thing that elevates this hotel from a rating of poor are the fantastic restaurants on site.

We went on a Friday where there was music being played at poor area which was kind of loud.

but the manager duty and room service were humble and apologatic for the delay and poor service.

Overall I felt it was overpriced  and the service was poor.

She was immediately approached by a staff member and asked to leave the area due to her poor dress state and asked not to traverse the public areas again dressed only in swimwear.

The food is mediocre I ordered room service and the pasta tasted awful and the bolognese  sauce had nothing to do with bolognese and everything to do with horrible food I worked as chef in Michelin star restaurants and trust me i know .. the service is slow and  poor quality .

It was poor experience that I received from the point where I had to park the car.

but the poor quality of food brings it way down.

Food was great, fresh and tasty as always.

Wealthy locals come to the buffet for dinner - they know the best place in town and this is it.

The set up is under a huge nuga tree with the traditional Sri Lankan cuisine presented in mud huts to bring in the so called  ‘gami feeling.’ Excellent service by Ashoka, Nilmini, Wasalge  and Dilruk.

Recently had a sunday brunch at Cinnamon grand plates restaurant and we were offered superb food and service!!

I might add the noodles restaurant and service is fantastic.

When we called the hotel the receptionist didn’t even listen to what we had to say which was extremely rude!!

The lady at the front desk was very rude (at least until she realised that we were in-house guests) and when approached for help gave me the impression that she had better things to do.

Once i walking to the entrance there was one wearing the black blazor i smiled he was so rude as well no smile from him like if i was walking to his hotel

the staff Mr. Asanka Fernando always in the hotel lobby,i think he maybe is a manager,but his attitude was terribly bad ,he speaked to the guests very loud and very rude.

This was not nice and I thought that was rude, as if we were kids staying past our bedtime.

but - even worse - that the concierge was so rude and totally unhelpful.. On my return to Colombo (NOT staying at the Cinnamon Grand) I complained about the incident to a manager called Davina, who lamely said she'd look into it.

The staff is rude and will try to cheat you.

but not overpowering - and it is representative of Sri Lankan cooking.

Slight odor in the hall on the 7th floor that needs to be addressed.

One thing to note, though, specially for non smokers, like myself!

However, some guests smokes in their rooms and it  can smell the entire hallway.

As per local regulations smoking is not permitted in confined areas.

The whole purpose of food being served to us is defeated when guests are walking around, mask-less, and breathing onto the food and even handling the utensils themselves when no one’s looking.

Only disappointment was the Christmas Night Dinner on Nuga Gama, Plates and the Cutleries were un-clean and the smell came from Cashew Curry wasn’t good at all.

Rooms for children smelled of cigar smoke.

Lots of different shisha flavors, tobacco and non tobacco.

Hope they do something about it because as a non-smoker, I found the smell not very pleasant.

The main area that represents an "authentic English pub" is given over to the smoking area so those who do not smoke are seated in what is effectively a corridor and an ante-room - and the smoke is all pervading.

I didn't like the first room we had (508) as it seemed very musty smelling and almost damp.

Rooms were a bit outdated and smelled a bit funny, probably from the moisture.

I had a shocking experienced when I was hosting two friends for lunch this afternoon, one of my friends discovered a worm in my Laksa noodles in the Noodles Restaurant (2nd January 2019), pictures are below
 It is rather disgusting to note that a Five Star Hotel has fails to maintain hygienic standards, especially in food served, of a high degree as expected.

The room smelled musty, and was outdated.

It stinks and it looks more like a public toilet.

but there was a damp, mildewy odor in there for the duration of our stay.

The interior of the hotel has a dull, old look to it and reeks of a weird smell.

Would love to come back again for the food and their great hospitality!

It was a lovely experience to both of us and undoubtedly I would visit this place again.

It’s been over two weeks now since we got back filled with the warmth of memories and hospitality of tge inly hotel in Sri Lanka colimbo that we truly call home.

My first experience with Cinnamon Grand Flavours food delivery was exceptional, from the first call to confirmation of recipe of order.

This is excellent high tea experience In cinaman grand Hotel.

It was a better experience and Mr. Milan gave us a good service.

Having such quality people will definitely make a deference to an organisation and for the hotel trade.

May he gain great heights in the hospitality trade.

The staff are still proud to work here after what happened in 2019 and I’m proud to support the trade in this amazing hotel.

On 17th September 2021, we purchased their famous Chocolate Cake with Butter icing from the 'Coffee Stop' (Pastry outlet) which was out of this world.

This has a great fitness centre and food was excellent for an all-inclusive.

Lastly, eventhough  this is an all inclusive resort the workers DEFINITELY be fishing for those tips.

It was my first time in Cancún and at an all inclusive.

This was our first all-inclusive and the experience was a 10 out of 10.

Cons: On top ofl the HIGH all-inclusive fee, you must shell out more $ for prime cabanas or lounge chairs with umbrellas at pool and on beach.

First time traveling internationally, as well as staying at an all inclusive resort.

A truly great experience at the best AI property we have ever stayed in.

The weather has been great, the service is top-notch, the food is the best that we have had in any all-inclusive or regular hotel.

The all inclusive is great and includes loads of cocktails and sparkling wine.

It is all inclusive and the main food option is Spices, the large buffet-style restaurant.

This time around my sister and I tried the Chef’s Plate which is a curated 6 course meal and isn’t part of the all-inclusive package.

The food is above average for an all inclusive hotels and the entertainment is the best thing.

Just the best all inclusive resort I have been in decades!!

It is the most amazing all inclusive experience you will ever have!

And the food was tasty for an all inclusive resort.

One of the best all inclusive experiences I’ve had.

The hotel and grounds were kept impeccably clean and the amenities, eg: fitness center and classes and the spa were the icing on the cake.

We were on the 4th floor in the center of the hotel.

The fitness center is gorgeous with everything you need.

Our room was on the 6th floor toward the center of the center of the resort and the view was stunning.

I also loved the fitness center and the Pilates class with Diana who was very sweet.

The wedding center staff were just perfect.

As of shopping, there is a mall and shopping centers (La Isla mall, for example, 15 min.

We also enjoy the fitness center and activities both are first class.

10min walk away from a huge shopping centre and outside food options also.

We always stay pool side near the activity centre and enjoy the activities and the best foam parties on Tuesdays and Fridays.

20 minutes away from the airport and super close to shopping centers and coco bongo.

The activity center can easily arrange day trips and activities such as parasailing, snorkeling, scuba diving, and trips to the ancient ruins.

The pool was the center of daytime activity.

but the staff quickly turned the lobby into a Game Center with ping pong, hacky sack, Jenga, and of course delicious food so the rain did not affect my stay.

Gym and fitness centre very well equipped.

You notice that as soon as you enter that huge entry center and lobby.

The resort offered a fitness center with modern equipment and lap pool.

I insisted that we should not be charged and reluctantly they 'waived' the additional fee for us.

Which tells me they're probably not getting paid what they deserve.

They don’t provide them anymore and charge $12 USD for a metal straw.

The spa - They were running a promotion to get an 80 minute massage at the price for a 50 minute so I took advantage of it plus they added on Hydrotherapy treatment.

As I explained to him a bunch of people were upset they couldn’t sit in or by the pool unless they paid $80 for a cabana each day (which came with 2 loungers in the pool) As Mr.Rojas explained to me this money grab was put in place by previous management

There is also entertainment every day and night, with a range of shows and classes at no extra cost.

The only downsides of our stay were the terrible sales pitch on check in, super misleading and time wasting. He promised a three minute chat to provide us our welcome package, turned into a 15 minute guilt trip to sign up for a 90 minute sales pitch saying "he wouldn't get paid if we didn't attend."

The premium wine was a tab on the expensive side,

And far too many hidden fees, especially for things which should have been included (ex: a chair by the pool or on the beach, a seat to watch the nightly entertainment , etc. ).

Once those are taken, you either have to pay for a chair or cabana, or find a place to store your stuff.
