Having lived in Dubai I guess I know one or two things about Shisha 
The service @ the Shisha lounge was amazing 
Priyadarshana and Captain Mahesh made the experience memorable and entertaining 
I rate it very high and worth visiting again

but was fine and the room was clean but beginning to look a little dated (not helped that I'd just spent 4 nights in a brand new hotel in Dubai).

Has lovely restaurants and a coffee shop inside with a mall close by - couldn’t be anymore convenient.

This property is at a great location with a mall adjacent to it.

very good hotel, good location, excellent wi-fi, excellent food (Plate restaurant) with enormous variation of dishes, very polite staff. There is also a small shopping mall (because of pandemia some shops are still closed)

There is a nice mall adjacent to the hotel.

but not least, the location of Cinnmon Grand is great - right at Galle road in the city centre close to the beach and with a walking distance to Galle Face shopping mall.

The facilities are great, a large amount of places to eat as well as walking distance to One Galle Face mall and many other places help make this my go to spot.

Crescat Shopping mall is next to the hotel and has a Supermarket and a food court.

Breakfast was excellent and presentation was elegant.The staff were exceptional and go out of their way to help you.Good location, the sea and the mall are at walking distance.

As you leave the hotel, on the left is a walkway and this leads to a small shopping mall which has some really nice shops and a food court on the ground floor.

The mall adjacent to the hotel is very convenient for quick shopping needs.

It’s next to the mall so you can walk over to get anything you need.

This hotel is just walking distance to Galle face, 2 mins drive to newly opened One Galle Face Mall.

Convineint access to nearby Crescat mall.

Thanks to it's proximity to Crescat Mall, I was able to hope over to there several times on foot to get the things I needed.

It is one of the most beautiful five star hotels, walking distance from an underground shopping mall and Spa Ceylon.

Hotel is also attached to a mall next door with a supermarket that closes at around 2100hrs / 2130hrs.

It also has everything needed for guests in close proximity with the Crestcat Mall on the same premises.

There was a huge variety of live music and easy access through an adjacent mall to reasonably priced tuk-tuks.

Great live music with a three piece band.

Beautiful ambiance with relaxing Sinhalese music performed by a live band.

Loved the upbeat music that comes on around 1730.

Good music on the background: Milan who was looking at our table was on the ball to serve us better feeling like home .

Decided to stay till late night in the tea lounge since there was an amazing band playing some soothing music.

Walked into an amazing jazz saturday night.

Also nice environment and calm music feel better experience

Would say Thank you for great service from Andhika, Wasalage, Krishmal, and Dananjaya, that made our dinner more memorable with accompanied by beautiful music and very tasty and spicy tradisional food of Srilanka.

My kids were right on top and amused by lovely background live music.

There was also live Sri Lankan music which was very calming.

Good food, good Ambiance, Variety of food, best place to try Sri Lankan food, love the outdoor setting combined with Sri Lankan music,   value  for money.

And live music also there and there are really good.

People were friendly and music was balanced.

The props and set up resemble a typical village with live classical music and traditional dance.

Best place.relax & gratefull customer service with music its awesome.

The high tea provided by cinnamon grand tea lounge was an amazing spread assisting by friendly staff special thanks to Themini who assist us for a great evening surrounded with a peaceful music, hope to visit back again

And in comparison with the buffet restaurant of the Cinnamon hotel in Maldives some food options were quite poor.

The only thing that elevates this hotel from a rating of poor are the fantastic restaurants on site.

We went on a Friday where there was music being played at poor area which was kind of loud.

but the manager duty and room service were humble and apologatic for the delay and poor service.

Overall I felt it was overpriced  and the service was poor.

She was immediately approached by a staff member and asked to leave the area due to her poor dress state and asked not to traverse the public areas again dressed only in swimwear.

The food is mediocre I ordered room service and the pasta tasted awful and the bolognese  sauce had nothing to do with bolognese and everything to do with horrible food I worked as chef in Michelin star restaurants and trust me i know .. the service is slow and  poor quality .

It was poor experience that I received from the point where I had to park the car.

but the poor quality of food brings it way down.

Food was great, fresh and tasty as always.

Wealthy locals come to the buffet for dinner - they know the best place in town and this is it.

It wasa pleasure to having a fabulous dinner at you hotel tonight celebration of my mother's  birthday and food was so delightful and servise was enormous and staff was so friendly.specially Mr Sameera and Meuru gave a wonderful lovely service.so thank you very much for your servise for tonight hope to see you again guys

We had a wonderful time when we visited for dinner.

We went to the Plates restaurant for lunch to celebrate hubby's birthday.

The food was amazing, especially the spread at the buffet.

Fair selection of bites and I enjoyed the grilled chicken with the brown sauce.

The set up is under a huge nuga tree with the traditional Sri Lankan cuisine presented in mud huts to bring in the so called  ‘gami feeling.’ Excellent service by Ashoka, Nilmini, Wasalge  and Dilruk.

The variety and the selection of food was really good.

The food was extremely delicious and mouth watering.

Recently had a sunday brunch at Cinnamon grand plates restaurant and we were offered superb food and service!!

I might add the noodles restaurant and service is fantastic.

When we called the hotel the receptionist didn’t even listen to what we had to say which was extremely rude!!

The lady at the front desk was very rude (at least until she realised that we were in-house guests) and when approached for help gave me the impression that she had better things to do.

Once i walking to the entrance there was one wearing the black blazor i smiled he was so rude as well no smile from him like if i was walking to his hotel

the staff Mr. Asanka Fernando always in the hotel lobby,i think he maybe is a manager,but his attitude was terribly bad ,he speaked to the guests very loud and very rude.

This was not nice and I thought that was rude, as if we were kids staying past our bedtime.

but - even worse - that the concierge was so rude and totally unhelpful.. On my return to Colombo (NOT staying at the Cinnamon Grand) I complained about the incident to a manager called Davina, who lamely said she'd look into it.

The staff is rude and will try to cheat you.

but not overpowering - and it is representative of Sri Lankan cooking.

Slight odor in the hall on the 7th floor that needs to be addressed.

One thing to note, though, specially for non smokers, like myself!

However, some guests smokes in their rooms and it  can smell the entire hallway.

As per local regulations smoking is not permitted in confined areas.

The whole purpose of food being served to us is defeated when guests are walking around, mask-less, and breathing onto the food and even handling the utensils themselves when no one’s looking.

Only disappointment was the Christmas Night Dinner on Nuga Gama, Plates and the Cutleries were un-clean and the smell came from Cashew Curry wasn’t good at all.

Rooms for children smelled of cigar smoke.

Lots of different shisha flavors, tobacco and non tobacco.

Hope they do something about it because as a non-smoker, I found the smell not very pleasant.

The main area that represents an "authentic English pub" is given over to the smoking area so those who do not smoke are seated in what is effectively a corridor and an ante-room - and the smoke is all pervading.

I didn't like the first room we had (508) as it seemed very musty smelling and almost damp.

Rooms were a bit outdated and smelled a bit funny, probably from the moisture.

I had a shocking experienced when I was hosting two friends for lunch this afternoon, one of my friends discovered a worm in my Laksa noodles in the Noodles Restaurant (2nd January 2019), pictures are below
 It is rather disgusting to note that a Five Star Hotel has fails to maintain hygienic standards, especially in food served, of a high degree as expected.

The room smelled musty, and was outdated.

It stinks and it looks more like a public toilet.

but there was a damp, mildewy odor in there for the duration of our stay.

The interior of the hotel has a dull, old look to it and reeks of a weird smell.

He is very professional and attentive to all the guests and always has a special smile which gives us a feeling of home from home.

Milan was very helpful and made sure that we were comfortable during our stay.

Special shout out to Milan for his excellent service he was very helpful, polite and friendly.

Went the extra mile by arranging for extra vegetarian items for my mother.

Dilara was absolutely amazing and definitely an asset to your restaurant.

Milan and Sadeepa served us very well and they were attentive and efficient.

Very helpful and friendly trainers available anytime we need.

The front desk staff were exceptional, and we would like to thank Samantha, Neeluja, and Nabeel especially for making us feel welcome.

It’s been over two weeks now since we got back filled with the warmth of memories and hospitality of tge inly hotel in Sri Lanka colimbo that we truly call home.

My first experience with Cinnamon Grand Flavours food delivery was exceptional, from the first call to confirmation of recipe of order.

This is excellent high tea experience In cinaman grand Hotel.

It was a better experience and Mr. Milan gave us a good service.

This has a great fitness centre and food was excellent for an all-inclusive.

Lastly, eventhough  this is an all inclusive resort the workers DEFINITELY be fishing for those tips.

It was my first time in Cancún and at an all inclusive.

This was our first all-inclusive and the experience was a 10 out of 10.

Cons: On top ofl the HIGH all-inclusive fee, you must shell out more $ for prime cabanas or lounge chairs with umbrellas at pool and on beach.

First time traveling internationally, as well as staying at an all inclusive resort.

A truly great experience at the best AI property we have ever stayed in.

The weather has been great, the service is top-notch, the food is the best that we have had in any all-inclusive or regular hotel.

The all inclusive is great and includes loads of cocktails and sparkling wine.

It is all inclusive and the main food option is Spices, the large buffet-style restaurant.

This time around my sister and I tried the Chef’s Plate which is a curated 6 course meal and isn’t part of the all-inclusive package.

The food is above average for an all inclusive hotels and the entertainment is the best thing.

Just the best all inclusive resort I have been in decades!!

It is the most amazing all inclusive experience you will ever have!

And the food was tasty for an all inclusive resort.

We have travelled many places, lived in Dubai and we have stayed in a number of amazing hotels

Location is good, it’s on the hotel strip, so  within walking distance to some of the market areas and malls - again targeted at Americans and are westernised though.

you can walk (15mins) to a beautiful shopping mall "la Isla" (H&M, ZARA, GUCCI, LUIS VUITTON ect..)

We can't wait to come back to Hyatt Zilara!

The location is walking distance to the mall and a short bus ride from everything else.

- The ISLA mall is very close, I walked there a couple times and it took me less than 15 minutes (or a 2-minute cab ride).

As of shopping, there is a mall and shopping centers (La Isla mall, for example, 15 min.

I also loved the fact that there was a mall, souvenir shops and restaurants within walking distance from the property and there were sidewalks to get to safely get to them.

Examples include cooking classes, mixology classes, etc 
-join the FB group before you go to get pumped about the trip and to snag leftover items thay people leave in their magic box
-room service (which was also incredible) took about 40 min so plan accordingly 
-less than a mile walk from the hotel to a massive, upscale mall
-felt super safe the whole time, even walking off the resort 
-we went with Discova for transit to and from the airport.

The location is great as it's about a 20 minute drive from the airport yet close to the mall and other entertainment away from the resort.

The mall is within walking distance & safe to walk to.

There is a very large, open air, shopping mall called "La Isla" within walking distance of the Zilara.

Hotel is centrally located and close to shopping mall.

La Isla mall is a 12 minute walk down the street (look for the huge Ferris wheel).

Luxurious hotel, Excellent food made to order, Attentive staff, clear blue waters, no large crowds, large size rooms, cleanest and secure hotel by far, near the mall, excellent vacation spot to relax, money well spent! !

Mall,  shopping and many pharmacies are within walking distance.

Location of resort was good for us basically staying at the resort every day except for about a 15 minute walk to the mall like area down the road.

We only left the property once on a rainy day, to shop at the mall, which was walking distance from the hotel.

A high end mall is less than a 5 minute walk away.

The location is perfect, as it is close to the airport, the mall and other major activities.

Location wise, also close to the famous La Isla Mall, so if you want to do a bit of shopping you can too.

It is a quick ride to the mall, all major activities, as well as the airport. Perfect location & staff :)

I insisted that we should not be charged and reluctantly they 'waived' the additional fee for us.

Which tells me they're probably not getting paid what they deserve.

They don’t provide them anymore and charge $12 USD for a metal straw.

The spa - They were running a promotion to get an 80 minute massage at the price for a 50 minute so I took advantage of it plus they added on Hydrotherapy treatment.

As I explained to him a bunch of people were upset they couldn’t sit in or by the pool unless they paid $80 for a cabana each day (which came with 2 loungers in the pool) As Mr.Rojas explained to me this money grab was put in place by previous management

There is also entertainment every day and night, with a range of shows and classes at no extra cost.

The only downsides of our stay were the terrible sales pitch on check in, super misleading and time wasting. He promised a three minute chat to provide us our welcome package, turned into a 15 minute guilt trip to sign up for a 90 minute sales pitch saying "he wouldn't get paid if we didn't attend."

The premium wine was a tab on the expensive side,

And far too many hidden fees, especially for things which should have been included (ex: a chair by the pool or on the beach, a seat to watch the nightly entertainment , etc. ).

Once those are taken, you either have to pay for a chair or cabana, or find a place to store your stuff.

but not if I could find something close to price.
