The breakfast was delicious and they would ask if you would like fresh coffee or hot chocolate or a soft boiled egg to go with the assortment that was already prepared (fresh bread, croissants, fruit, jams, yogurt, cheeses, meats, nuts, oatmeal, juice, water, etc).

The staff ensures ample coffee, croissants, meats, cheeses, breads, freshly boiled eggs, fresh fruit, and so forth.

They serve a wonderful breakfast with local cheeses, meats, sweetbreads and fruits.

Breakfast consisted of fresh-squeezed OJ, fresh eggs, and a spread of fruit, meat, cheese, bread and more.

You get a basket of croissants and bread, a buffet with lunch meats and jellies and some fruit with an option of a  boiled egg.

This is a delightful and charming family-run hotel - very clean and  comfortable with friendly and helpful hosts.

The couple who own the hotel were very welcoming and willing to accommodate when we arrived late due to travel mishaps.

It is family owned, which I enjoy, and the owners were friendly and really wanted to be sure we enjoyed our stay.

But I want to point out a few things that might be helpful.

The team here look after you with the utmost care.

The food was always fresh and staff serving at breakfast were attentive and not over-powering.

The hosts are a lovely couple and nothing was too much trouble.

We had the warmest welcome, staff were so lovely, nothing was too much trouble,  tasty breakfast, comfy room, great location,Brugge is beautiful, secure parking,  we will be staying here again for sure.

though was the friendly staff, the magical garden and a breakfast to remember!

They and their staff made our stay extremely memorable, pleasant, uncomplicated and enjoyable.

The owners of the hotel were very engaged and it really makes a difference to these large hotel chains.

We used the hotel parking which was easy and enjoyed the 10 minute walk into town .

The hotel resembles a classic B&B in an historically preserved town that ranks as one of the finest in all of Europe!

Private parking includes individual boxes for a faire rate, compared to parkings in town.

It is in a charming location, you can take a bus (through some of the beautiful old town) directly to the hotel from the train station.

If you like me believe in the value of keeping Europe’s historical towns and places as authentic as possible you really should stay at the Ter Duinen  Hotel.

Hotel Ter Duinen is a wonderful hotel, very good situated for exploring the beautifull town.

We walked left out of the hotel away from the town and discovered a path alongside a canal which circles Bruges and there were lots of old windmills and some beautiful fortified gates  - highly recommended, it’s a beautiful walk.

The hotel is ideally located 10 minutes walk from the centre of town.

We spent 2 days in the beautiful town of Bruges, and feel so fortunate to have stayed at the Hotel ter Duinen.

Head north up the canal to DuPhare for great steak, head into town to Amon for great Lebanese.

A 10 minute walk or so along the beautiful canal and architecture from the hotel and you are in the start of the town.

Cosy dining room and hotel just a 10-15 minute walk to town centre.

Our room had fantastic views and it was in a quieter end of town so great for a good night’s rest and fully air conditioned too.

A free, public parking lot is within a 10 minute walk on the other side of the old town across the outer canal next to the police station.

The location is perfect in a quiet part of the old town.

It is the perfect distance from the centre of town - allowing for a quiet 8-10 min stroll back after dinner.

About 10 minutes walk from the town centre so location was ideal aswell.

), and were happy to trade the walk for a slightly cheaper and more intimate hotel a few minutes from the centre.

This wasn't ideal and could be easily fixed by simply adding the attachment to fix the shower head to the wall so the guest can have a proper shower.

Tasteful and sleek, from the paint chosen for the walls to the lamps, the placement of the tables, the curtains.

I read in other reviews prior to booking that the walls are thin, which was true to be fair,

The toilet paper holder was fixed to somewhere-not-quite-reachable on the wall.

There is one other thing, if you are picky when it comes to cleaning, you might find stains here and there especially behind the doors and spots where you don't directly see on the walls.

The glass mirror was loose in it's fittings on the wall which I discovered when wiping the condensation from it as it nearly fell out of the fittings, the corner was broken suggesting this had happened to someone else before.

The breakfast room is beautifully appointed, with white tablecloths covering the tables and old prints of Bruges sites adorning the walls.

The bathroom walls were paper tin and you could hear your partner doing all their bodily function even brushing their hair and the door closed.

There was not that much natural light, so it was a bit dark, and rather spartan in terms of decoration - a few pictures on the wall might help.

I finally just sat on the wall of the canal and rested with my lunch.

Compared to downstairs I'd say  this room hasn't had a make over in 15 years, very dark painted walls, cheap carpet, dark curtains, the bathroom was not much better, a mix a match of tiles and units that were installed years ago- certainly not deluxe

My only comment is that there is no way to hook the shower attachment to the wall (or shower curtain) so you have to bathe or taking a sitting shower.

Very roomy and comfortable, my only recommendation would be to install a shower bracket on the wall.

The wall mounted TV was too high for long comfortable viewing,

This room had a tiny 2x2 foot window high up on the wall, from which you could not see the canal unless you stood up and leaned into the deep-set window.

The breakfast was out of this world and there was plenty to choose from whatever you fancied eating that morning.

but is just as charming and old-world as the parts of Brugge on the tourist trail.

Couldn’t fault the place and I’ve stayed at hotels all over the world.

I have stayed in hotels all over the world and this is absolutely one of the best.

We went for 3 days to one of the most beautiful cities of the world, and found this wonderful and charming hotel.

The  hotel was spotless and the breakfasts out of this world.

Bruges is my favorite place in the world to be, after my home in Portland, Oregon, and there is no place I would rather stay.

the Hotel Ter Duinen is a charming, small, old world style with modern comforts hotel.

And at 100am after Belgium won one of its World Cup soccer games.

After a long day sight seeing, it was lovely to be able to relax and watch the world go by.

In the jewel box of Brugge’s UNESCO World Heritage site, Ter Duinen was an unexpected gem.

The general level of helpfulness and attention to detail by the management and staff was probably the best I've ever experienced, and I've been travelling all over the world for more than 30 years.

Hotel Ter Duinen is a charming hotel that offers old world ambience with modern comforts in the rooms.

All in all, one of my favourite places to stay in the world and the perfect place as a base to explore Bruges and all that Belgium has to offer.

What more can a world-weary traveler ask for?

Presiding over this well-run world are the hoteliers, Marc and his charming wife Lieve, always ready to give advice or guidance.

Dukes is the perfect place to stay in Bath as it is located just a minute's walk from the centre of the city.

A parking permit is provided which meant just a short walk into the city centre.

The location on the very elegant Great Pulteney street is perfect, a lovely short stroll to the center of everything.

but also quite a quiet street adjacent to the city centre.

It is a quick walk to the center of Bath with its many sites and restaurants,

The location is only a very short walk to the main shopping centre and you are able to park on the surrounding streets with a "pass" from the hotel - essential in Bath.

This was a great bed and breakfast that is located about 5 minutes from the center of Bath.

We came to Bath for a wedding and picked this hotel as it's just a short walk from the Abbey and the centre where the wedding took place.

Perfect location 5 mins walk from the centre, very friendly, great breakfast.

The perfect place to stay in such a beautiful city - very comfortable bed, lovely bath, delicious breakfast and easy walk over the bridge into the city centre.

We were impressed with the Covid measures, cleanliness, staff, breakfast and location, 7 mins walk to the centre.

I was a bit concerned because it was the start of the heat wave in England and our rooms were on upper floors (no lift by the way).

There is no lift - not permitted in the classic Georgian houses which constitute the hotel.

The only other thing to mention is that there are no lifts (which is clearly stated on the website)

One point to note - there is no lift, so those with ailing knees may wish to request a room on the lower floors.

Only downside is lack of lift and next time we’ll bring two small suitcases instead of one large one!

Note due to the nature of the building there is no lift and also whilst the hotel issues a resident parking place they can be tricky to find.

Tip: If your not the most mobile request a ground floor room as there's no lift.

Nothing was too much trouble for her, she advised us of the available parking permit, the 6 flights of stairs to our 3rd floor room( no lift because the building is listed) or the option to swap to a lower floor and when I asked for help even recommend and booked our evening restaurant, all before we had arrived!

Mind you the actual building is an architectural masterpiece - therefore N lifts to the upper floors.

As an older building it has no elevator, and it is a considerable climb to the top of the building.

We stayed in the Grafton room which is at the side of the property on the second floor (no lift).

but we highly respect the fact that the building is listed and they cannot put any elevator and we were inform by that during booking.

I didn't mind the lack of a lift, nor the lack of wifi on the top floor, nor the price, for the sheer beauty of this place.

There is no elevator and the staff ran our bags up the stairs while we parked our car.

One thing to be aware of is the snug rooms are up 6 flights of stairs.

We had to  set off early for a balloon flight, so a snack breakfast was brought to our room the previous evening.

but as the breakfast is served in the basement then I'm not sure how you'd get down the flight of stairs and there are also a couple of steps to get into the hotel from the street.

Our room was on the 2nd floor up 4 flights of stairs.

I stayed in the Grafton room which was up four flights of stairs.

Our room was on the top floor - so 3 flights of stairs with large bags was a little physically challenging
