On balance, if someone asked me what it was like I would probably say "it was OK,

but the Rydges charged me the full cancellation fee that cover the whole cost of the two days without any explanation or communication with me.

but the card activated roller door was not working and the card activator on the lift wall was hanging off the wall and not operating (no signage)

So sick of Rydges charging me for things I didn’t use. Robbers.

There was no Mini Bar charge schedule in my room, so if I wanted to have a drink, I did not know the charge.

Again, I told her that we have already requested for early check in and asked her why all these charges were not conveyed to us.

Oh and if you have a child make sure they don’t have an accident at night or you will be charged $100 and harassed with phone calls.

but we were told most mornings that there would be an extra charge.

but it showed they negleted to request handicapped room,they fixed the problem straight away even though it was more expensive,at no extra charge.

Imagine her disappointment when I advised I already had my room card and it was only their insistence around the copy of my license not completed.

If you prefer to leave a cash security rather than a credit card, you will have to wait while the staff go and take everything out of the mini bar and then, when leaving, you will have to wait while staff check that you haven't damaged the room in any way before they refund your deposit.

I was disappointed that we were charged for having four champagne glasses and a sharp knife delivered to our room.

You also need to pay a $100 deposit at check-in and even the major cards take a 1.5% surcharge which I think is wrong.

I was telephoned after close of business the following day (30 hours or so later) and told that I would be billed $100 to hire 'specialist cleaners' and that that these issues caused the rooms "to smell mouldy".

but very basic for the prices they are charging.

Cannot get anywhere without a swipe card.

but by the 18th we had had enough of staying in a poor run hotel.

BUT this Rydges was poor in service like no room serice .

Do you have any clue how hard these people are working for you under such poor conditions ?

In summary, an old, outdated hotel that smells, has cockroaches (of all things), poor breakfast offerings and time consuming parking arrangements.

Breakfast was terrible, sloppy scrambled eggs, bacon not cooked and just a very poor selection so I ate elsewhere for the other 3 days.

She returned shortly trumpeting well we will just check you in differently to everyone else shall we - poor attempt to embarrass me.

I found the staff on front desk far from welcoming , the rooms dull and musky, and the general condition of the Hotel very poor.

Quality of food for breakfast was very poor.

could be a lot better, customer service was poor.

The free Wifi has poor reception and constantly break-up and need reconnection.

but feel it is poor value for money and not worthy of it's Lonely Planet recommendation.

First the receptionist staff had very poor English.

average place to stay, no in house restaurant for dinner with restaurant referral being of really poor quality in regards to service and food.

Our customer service experience was :-
- we had to carry our own 6 bags to our room, no help offered;
- the check-in experience was poor (the man on the desk may have been in training??

Morning breakfast was too mobbed for the poor lady waiting on us!

Worked out $150 per night - much cheaper than the other big name hotels - who appear to be old/dated and with poor reviews.

Popped up to Darwin for a quick Business trip, The Rydges Central is exactly that, Perfect location in the heart of town the room was clean, neat and tidy, very piratical and modern, Its definitely a town stay sort of place.

Bus service is good and can get around seeing places.

but for the price I’d expect a full service hotel. 7/10

The restaurant was great as was the food and service.

We spent our last night in Darwin here, and were very impressed, from the room upgrade upon booking in, the cleanliness, reception service, and offer of a late check out.

The bed and pillows were just right, customer service was impeccable, dining room service was excellent.

Last week, was the first time I have stayed under the new branding and was excited by the prospect of a new owner (Rydges)

An excellent breakfast is served in their Level 1 Restaurant and has a large selection of choices both hot and cold and service is prompt and friendly .

if you want value for money, great service then put Darwin Central on your accommodation list.

Location was central, cleanliness and service excellent.

The whole building stunk like stale cigarettes, (nowhere for smokers, except the alley-way at the entrance,so I guess people have been smoking in the rooms).

The towels smelt disusting and no one to contact to rectify.

No one at check in, check out, foul smell in the parking that you pay for and continues into the rooms via filthy dated lifts.

but the area was at best disgusting, the paint was peeling off the wall and was black with mold and a door at the area of the changing rooms black with mold and also the water in the pool was a milky color so we never used it.

The room we had was musty, the tropical humid aircon smell that the older hotels have, The room had a window,

The moment I opened the room I was overcome with the musty, stale smell, which was off-putting.

Windows don’t open, room was dirty and smelly, air con caused headache (probably hasn’t had a clean filter in years), breakfast for $28 is a rip-off, staff looked like they didn’t want to be there (can’t blame them, I wouldn’t want to work there either).

No ventilation, so room smells like cleaning detergents, nor natural light.

Pastries were stale and we felt it was a little disorganised.

but adequate, but smelled musty, as others have commented.

From the 20 odd people standing at the front entry (from a conference) smoking and blocking the entry somewhat, to the lack of parking, I know this is inner city, and I know the hotel offers valet parking

But I would visit again because their are more pros and cons, because I am comfortable telling drunks to p*** off when approached whilst smoking at the door - others might find this a deal-breaker.

I love coming back to the Vibe Waterfront, as a regular business traveller, finding a consistently good stay can sometimes be difficult, the Vibe Waterfront has never disappointed.

The Waterfront Vibe has everything needed for a relaxing stay, access to tourist attractions and a great selection of dining options right on the doorstep.

There is a pool in the vibe should you wish to use.

Beautifully located on the waterfront, Vibe has clean and comfortable rooms.

The Vibe is a decent hotel in a great position.

Vibe Waterfront is the perfect location for a Darwin stay.

I would not hesitate to stay at the Vibe again.

We had stayed in a Vibe in Sydney 3 weeks before and it was very similar.

Stayed for 5 nights at the Vibe , relaxing and modern hotel on the waterfront with the wave pool and plenty of options for drinking and dining.

Had to attend Darwin for business, needed a central location with great dining options which the Vibe and the Darwin waterfront provided in spades.

The history around the Vibe is all very close by.

The vibe is very chilled and the staff are very helpful. I had a lovely view of the Waterfront from my bedroom (which is huge!)

Stayed at the Adina Vibe last week and it's a lovely hotel with a great location at the Waterfront area in Darwin.

Close to the waterfront, the Vibe was within walking distance of many tourist venues and reasonably priced food outlets.

Each time I have stayed at the Vibe i have been very happy with the service and accommodation.

If i get a chance to visit on pleasure i will stay at the Vibe again.

Our dining experience at the Curve was very pleasant.

Great pool, excellent dining and access to the waterfront superb.

As many of the day tours to Katherine, Kakadu and Litchfield are 15 hours+ late night dining options would be welcome - perhaps by pre-booking?

Enjoyed our recent ten night stay in a Aqua View Room at Vibe Hotel Darwin with excellent daily buffet breakfast included  Hotel is in a great location, central to the Waterfront area and its many restaurants and entertainment venues and also with easy and close access to the Darwin CBD.

My Fiancé and I loved the location and found walking at night around the location of the hotel was very lovely and quiet romantic.

Still, the slightly higher price for a single night's stay might not be the most budget-friendly choice for extended visits.

but it is Council owned and you need to pay to go in.

However would get pretty expensive long term with the only eating option being room service or eating out.

I found the room to be somewhat overpriced for what is it.

Free parking should be included in the cost not at an additional cost of $15 a day.

My first room was musty and a bit shabby, once I mentioned the smell to the staff they were super friendly and moved my straight away.

There was mould on the back of the door in the bathroom the hook for the towel fell off the wall the chair next to the desk was so stained and should have been replaced .

Bathrooms looking old and dirty, bed very uncomfortable and my room has a very damp/musty odour to it the whole stay.

They sent a guy up to my room to investigate and he smelt strongly of cigarettes.

Hotel smelt like mould and had a damp smell about it.

The room had an odd odour, like a musty cover-up,  and it was very tired.

but needs to fix the horrible odour in the passage on the second floor.

Dirty rooms, rusty bin in bathroom, dirty fridge inside and out and ants on bedside tables, over the fridge and on the desk.Windows filthy and there was a hair pin by the bath on the floor obviously from the previous customers which remained there the whole of our stay so the floors werent cleaned and the bath was dirty.

The shower screen was terribly dirty and mouldy in corner.

but the pillows were awful the bedding had a funny smell to it to me it did not smell fresh and clean.

The continental breakfast was meagre, croissants stale.

Unfortunately the friendly staff did not overcome the fact that my hotel room was a bit musty and tired and in need of refurbishment.

We had issues booking in, my room smelled musty, there was mould on the fridge.

Always find something dirty or yuk in the room, all showers have mouldly silicon in showers.

but the shower head is too low and the shower area isn’t very big.

Once inside, no means to heat water for tea was provided, bathroom plumbing had seen better days as taps did not work properly and toilet cistern would not stop running and fill.
