If you are keen on a view from the room please don’t go for this hotel all you would see is construction and parked cars.

Must mention that the construction noise and dust and impact on view is there.

but the luxury rooms leave a lot to be desired in terms of views plus a lot of noise of construction keeps coming in.

Though the view from the property was not great as there was construction  happening right next to this place.

If you are taking your own car then a steep road leads to parking or else when going for a walk take the stairs (lift under construction) directly to Mall road.

There was some construction going on, so the path and staircase to the Mall Road was a bit dicey, hopefully it would be completed in couple of months
The most unusual feature was that in the room, masala tea bags were provided,

though somewhat marred by the new construction which is out of the hotel's control anyway.

though they had construction going on at the time, we did not experience any inconvenience or disturbance.

Please use the entry to the hotel from opposite side of the governor house as construction is going on at lower level.

we were there in resort in februrary and food served was with adulteration and with foreign matters and the same was brought to the notice of chef who requested not to bring it to the hotel authority and while eating we got nails/ stones in veg chops and many more - will bring it to the notice of FASSAI authority as we have taken snaps of the same 
pls improve upon in the interest of your name and general public health --construction work was going on too much of noise unable to sleep with a lot of request hotel changed the room to first floor - still unbearable noise -- stayed there on 18-20 feb -j.pkanodia

While the rooms were chilly with only a small heater, the baths tiny and the noisy construction site next door, it still proved to have old world charm and comfort for a weary traveller.

2)Service- I can understand that the location of the hotel maybe undermined by all the construction

But be warned - there's been a lot of construction around the hotel and I think only a few rooms would get the view we had.

You cannot see the Kanchenjunga from here and the view of the mountains and tea valleys is also sadly obstructed by all the nearby new construction of multi storied buildings.

The Mayfair now faces this huge cement construction with no views at all .

We demanded to change room, since we first got one that was overlooking a construction site.

the staff is stubborn

the rooms have moving rats

rooms are in basement where even in our home we would not like to stay

no view of valley left due to construction of building in front

only one right wing has rooms with view which staff reserves for their imp.

Limited hot water, wi-fi that does not work, a gym where the two treadmills do not work, where the construction noise is very annoying, where the food is okay.

Hotel is under renovation.. We had got a room on the first floor above the reception.. construction was hapening right above our floor.. at least the noise was that much during the day!!

2 minus points : the view from the hotel is partly obstructed by some ugly constructions; and you either draw the curtains in the room, or everyone in the hotel common areas can look in.

We had gone for a corporate off-site and all members were mesmerized by the exquisite beauty that nature and the architecture of the property offered.

You would be pleasantly surprised when it is chilling cold outside and the Housekeeping guys come to deliver Hot Water Bags, without being asked, to keep you warm.

Situated at a convenient location accessible by car and fairly close to the mall road the property offers an excellent view of the valley & the kanchenjunga mountain range.

Fantastic location on the Mall, adjacent to Raj Bhavan, this is a beautiful property with breath taking view.

Date of stay: 24th November to 26th November 
I stayed here with my family for about 3 days, we chose this as it was somewhat located in the heart of the city.

Location (5/5) - Situated close to the Mall, an important tourist location in Darjeeling, Mayfair Darjeeling is still away from the hustle and bustle of a busy tourist place in India.

2 hour long traffic jams, concrete matchbox houses everywhere, terrible drainage and awfully dirty.

All three occasions Mayfair Darj had some kind of civil and repair work happening with high pitch sound of machinery cutting marbles etc which is not expected from property charging a bomb per night. 6.

We were woken up in the middle of the night by hospitality staff who forgot to take our signature for consumption at restaurant, I believe they could have wait until the next day.

Very noisy in the early evening, the food here seemed ordinary after the Tiffany.

There were 14 of us from different parts of the country and world, some meeting after 50 years.Stayed .3 nights.They very thoughtfully gave Deluxe rooms next to each other which helped us to catch up in our rooms.Obviously noisy,fortunately we were away form other rooms, hence were not of nuisance value!

One wing of the hotel has a lot of balconies and terraces outside the rooms, and this can lead to a bit of a privacy loss, or noise from neighbouring rooms.

My partner was busy drinking red wine at the time and the violent shaking from the wheels bouncing off the ties splashed his stone-coloured boots with the wine.

Also the position of the reception that there was traffic jam in the area and the roads were blocked were utterly false.

Therefore, visitors , pls be aware that if you wish some peace and quiet times, this hotel isn't the one.

My only negative, which isn't their fault was children who were running all over making lots of noise for 2 days at all hours.

but far from the noise , standing apart is Mayfair Darjeeling .

but this resort allows noisy people to continue shouting, thumping on the floor and making a chaos resulting in a very chaotic experience.

There was also a noise issue in many of our rooms with one friend complain8ng that they seemed to be shifting furniture around above her during the night.

The hotel seems to encourage small children to stay, which is unfortunate, given that parents don't seem to keep children quiet.

The heater provided of yester-years was making a lot of noise, without providing much of heat.

The rooms in the new wing are without a view for the window opens to noise and a dump.

The Chilli Chicken come in a gravy format, and it had a very tangy taste to it, very unlike any chilli chicken I have eaten.

The hotel is very well maintained and the food is great.

Quality of food is The Best with variety of choices.

I had the opportunity to dine at the Mayfair last evening and it was a real treat.

The amazing intimate reception on arrival by dynamic Poonam  - the delicious food spread and the care by Praveen and team at the cosy restaurant - the friendly  house team and in fact every one contributes to the glory of this world of hospitality!

I liked their hospitality, their food, cleanliness, entire staff attitude.

The food quality and taste was also very good.

This review was long due and We had the best experience of our life and the hospitality the Mr Biswajit shown us and along with him Mr Santoshji head chef made sure we had finger licking good food at the property.

If u visit do stay at this place only I have no words to describe their hospitality

iHotel had  nice view from our room 101 with good outside sitting space.

Rooms are spacious, buffet breakfast sumptuous, and the live singing in the evening will make your stay a memorable one.

Our favourite Room 105 Lloyds Cottage  was waiting eagerly for us alongside the entire Mayfair Darjeeling Team!

but the stay in the deluxe rooms was truly very comfortable.

The rare photo collections of Darjeeling put inside the hotel on the way to our rooms was very informative and mesmerizing.

We stayed here for 2 nights and booked two rooms, my family enjoyed a lot.

Lucky for me reception staff saw me leaning on a walking stick and swiftly changed my room to 311 on the lobby level.

Can consider breakfast also part of room charges!

We were properly escorted to the room with warm welcome tea from the resort.

Room size was very comfortable with well equipped bathrooms and a powder room which is a sheer luxury.

Manager Mr Biswajit was very prompt and courteous.

GM Mr. Mohanty was also so supportive and always available on ground during the complete offsite.

Reported this to the restaurant staff, who got the chef and same was reported to him.

Added to the same, the exceptional service of all staff members, especially Biswajit made the trip most memorable.

Staffs are very cordial and very friendly.

I was graciously invited as a guest of Rudolph and opted to try the buffet.

he is a perfect gentleman and a great host.

Thank you to Mr Mohanty and team for making our stay a memorable one.

Recently I visited Darjeeling and I srayed in Mayfair.

A must visit hotel if you ever visit Darjeeling.

I will strongly recommend the Mayfair group of hotels anywhere in the country worth a visit.

A special mention to Mr Rudolf and his team for making our visit comfortable.

The top entrance to the hotel/resort gives easy access to Observation Point and a great circuit walk for early am exercise, the Mahakal temple and the Zoo and HMI (both worth the visit, surprisingly).

Will recommend atlesst one time visit and stay to this beautiful property, this made our Darjeeling vacation for 5th Anniversary very memorable,  highly satisfied and will recommend everyone to enjoy this property for Serene experience with beautiful views all around.

Heritage and luxury

After visiting Gangtok and Pelling we were not Sur eif we would enjoy Darjeeling

This is the best place to visit in Darjeeling.

The regrets i had from mayfair Gangtok was totally forgotten after visiting their other property in darjeeling it was so amazing that i didn’t wanna leave everything was amazing specially the plants were done so well u will
Be surprised every inch of property was so meat and well decorated it was amazing

I would ask everyone visiting Darjeeling to stay in Mayfair only.

The property is 5 mins walk from Mall road.

Proximity to the mall - a comfortable walking distance- is a great advantage to senior citizens like us.

A 10 minutes walk from the resort led us to the Mall Road which was definetly the icing on the cake.

but the nearest viewpoint is just a couple of minutes walk from the hotel.

Mayfair Darjeeling, a 5minute walk from Chowrasta Square.

Darjeeling mall is approx 10 mins walk (if you take the stairs beside Raj Bhavan).

We loved our stay at Mayfair Darjeeling from the minute we walked in.

Location wise, it takes hardly 10 mins by walk to get to the widely popular Darjeeling mall.

You have to walk 5 mins from the main entrance for the view.

The hotel is very conveniently located within a few minutes walk from the Mall and is opposite to the Governor's House, and is accessible by car at both the upper and lower entrances.

The viewing area is hardly 5 mins walk from the hotel, past the Governor's House.

A Heritage Property nestled on a mountain slope away from the cacophony of the bustling Mall Road n Chowrasta yet you can just walk for 10 mins from this serene location to the heart of all the action

Hospitality of the staffs are great and friendly especially the F&B staffs

Varied and great spread of buffets be it breakfast or Dinner (we booked half board tariffs)

The hotel set on the hillside as is everything else in Darjeeling, its convenient as you can pretty much walk everywhere in Darjeeling from here.

- about 5-7 mins easy walk from chowrasta/mall road
- 100 metres from a Kanchenjanga viewpoint.

The passage to the hotel is so steep that walking is impossible and even cars were finding it difficult.

Also food served is only vegetarian and the breakfast bufffet service is quite slow 
And even the food served is cold
Parking is not available and also if your tourist guide comes with the car to pick you up you need to be quick as it’s located on the main road and traffic jams are created 
The  property is new so it’s well maintained presently staff is courteous and room service is also prompt 
But my issue with the food remains the same they need to improve on there service and we had breakfast included so it’s was quite disappointing

And the entrance is steep, so not possible to walk in(need a car).

He along with my husband and few other people carried my mother-in-law up to the car (the resort car) and went to the hospital with us.

If you want to stay away from the hustles & bustles of the city,you can opt for this hotel cum resort.The entrance of the hotel has a very steep climb.Although if you go down you can hire a car to Mall road at Rs.200/- & can hire back to return to the hotel at the same rate.Its easily available.

There should be a calling-bell or sort of at the bottom of the slope so that hotel should send a small car down to take the guests up.

3) We had to walk once or twice since car guy said no to entering the hotel.

The hotel is on top of a hill so if you are limited mobility, consider this only if you have a car at your disposal and/or you don't plan to step out.

Relaxed and enjoyed each minute of great ambience and food.

The food and service offered were excellent.

The resort is clean and food is excellent .
