Rooms are large & comfortably  furnished - air con in one room was very weak & room was always hot which is not good in May!

We first was given a room that the air was stifling hot.

When I turned the air flow to the minimum, the room cooled down to a more tolerable 78 -

the hotel is just average nothing special for what you pay, considering also that in summer time the room was terribly cold due to too much air condition.

The air condition did heat up the room throughout the day (for what reason? no clue.  )

but without the proper decoration for a place of its fame (more prone to the Chinese customs than the European air).

No free shuttle bus from/to airport, furniture in room is not in mint condition and breakfast buffet is not included when a “deLux” room is booked (Y610 excl tax).

The furniture is a bit worn in what looks to be an older building,

Stayed two nights and the first thing that hit me on check in was how hot the temperature in the foyer.

I haven't got any trouble with hot water or any disorder (I staid around 100 nights).

but when it arrived it was hot (this was in winter, also white wine is meant to be served chilled).

I felt hot in the night and window could not be opened.

Despite being -6 degrees outside, you get hot water in the room.

though as they responded quite negatively when I asked why the rooms were so hot and if the heaters were working.

At times it becomes little hot in the room, for which you can open a small window and keep it covered by heavy curtains for perfect temperature.

-_- Subsequently, requested for a change of rooms and got a much better room for the remaining 2 nights.

I also asked for the items to be returned in poly bags and they were left on hangers.

I only requested to have 2 additional bottled water in the room once and the housekeeping lady will make sure the additional bottles are there throughout your stay.

The staff is very friendly and helpfull - rooms are clean - location is excellent.

It looks, smells and actually is a vast construction site.

but lots of construction going on in the local area to support the new Dalian convention center.

Limited options for Vegetarians (India) and food taste is Ok

Lot of construction activities are happening in the nearby location.

Was unfortunately facing a construction side.

The hotel is located in a neighborhood undergoing heavy construction, and is constantly dirty and dusty.

Also, in the plunge pools in the changing area you aren't allowed to wear a swimsuit and must go in naked 'for hygiene reasons'.

The food is spread out over a big area with no rhyme or reason and I missed a lot of basics hiding  away from where I was sitting.

For a reason not able to be explained by staff, the air-conditioning was "over-ridden" and couldn't be restored.

Two reasons it prevents this Hilton to be 4 stars are: first no complimentary wifi, quite odd, hotel please factor the wifi cost in the daily rate, this is ridiculous.

Below are the reasons why:

1)	No taxis waiting outside and no doorman to help me call a cab.

The only reason why I don't recommend this hotel is due to the price, the distance from the main sightsees and the paid internet.

My room was really clean and executive lounge was also very nice.

The rooms were clean and sleep was a dream, will return to the Hilton Dalian without any concerns, knowing i will be looked after.

Pros: Nice clean room, large bathroom, perfect swimming pool with changing rooms and hairdryers (see photos), excellent breakfast (combination of both European and Chinese food, I especially appreciated different Chinese vegetables and a delicious seaweed).

I had minor trouble when making reservation, with hotel's sales-rep and reservationist giving us two different answers, regarding the hotel parking use and breakfast charges.

The elevator doesn't lead to the underground parking so if you have a lot of luggage or a stroller, drop it off at the curbside then park.

Plop down in bed, plug everything in a call it a night.

After an hour or so, the phone rings - same receptionist - you are a diamond member, we've found it.

First it was not so easy and if there called me back there just ring once as they don't want to pay for the call to my Hong Kong mobile.

The younger curb staff ignored us and our baggage in favor of their smart phones as well.

The only downside to be honest is the lack of charging options beside the bed, which these days is a bit of a necessity for laptop and mobile.

It is getting extremely old and need a major renovation.

During my stay, I was getting sick with cold flu & fever, and I didn’t tell my health condition to anyone from the room service.

The room was clean and comfortable, the staff' s kindness was very impressive, especially the staff in Horizon club.

but not least, to bring back what I mentioned at the beginning, I believe that to make home away from home always start with warm people interaction, I am glad that Shangri-La not only very comfort and clean in room, good in food and great in facilities, it also bring warm heart “home” feeling for me to feel safe and comfortable along the stay, will look forward to stay again no matter at same or different place of Shangri-La hotel.

The hotel is located near Dalian train station as well as Youhao Guangchang (Friendship Square) subway station.

The hotel is conveniently located in the center of Dalian with easy access to public transportation.

Really fantastic location with all sorts of public transport available.

Location is beside the train station and also there are plenty of taxis which are not expensive by Western standards.

It is a pity for me, because before the the hotel was just a right place for me due its location and services,

Due to my business nearby area and overall location is nice - near train station and market, I normally was staying in Ramada Plaza and was quite satisfied with everything.

It's a short stroll from the Dalian train station and the chingway.

The hotel is super nicely located at the waterfront, and close (walking distance) to the main downtown area of Dalian.

In comparison, though, its prices are quite reasonable and the level of service is excellent, once you contend yourself that “what can I do for you” is as far as you can go with English… Once there, don’t miss to visit Xinghai Square, the largest in Asia and dine at the poshy residential areas on the hillside, just outside the city center.

Located pretty centrally, the Bay Shore offers you the flexibility of easy travel to the Hi Tech Industrial area for work and yet is adequately central to go out in the evening.

So I called the manager, I ended up with a fan that is about to fall apart.

Improvements would be : clean windows on 25th floor restaurant, improve restaurants food in evening menu offering, clean carpets (after complaining to manager, an effort was made to clean our carpets,

About 10-15% of the staff seems to know English (passable) some conversations or requests are a challenge to understand.

Well appointed rooms, beautiful view from breakfast at top floor, very helpful people at the reception (some of them can speak in English) and hospitable.

The view from the room of the bridge and sea is amazing its a great location.

Reasonable hotel with international standards and a nice view on the bay and the little amusement park in front of it.

The five sea world activity centres around are a great visit also.

Highly recommended for its comfortable rooms , well maintained property and on top excellent location.

It is located within in walking distance from the Expo.

Most like part was the location, only 5min working distance to Xinghai Square.

Good points

- the breakfast is Awful ( cold and tasteless) and considering its and American hotel chain id expect  better western food.

As for the location, it is in a block with new buildings and several constructions near by,

I felt lost in a country where I am lost as such as I do not speak the language.

I have tried calling their reservation and reception number both are continously busy and I am stressed that I have to go thru same ordeal again.

but there is no way to know how to wait in line, or even to know which desk is being manned, usually by a confused member of staff who spends a lot of time on the phone.

When we went to the restaurant the next morning they explained it was 129 rmb for breakfast.

This was rather annoying considering the fact that even the room service staff were unable to understand me.

I wish they had more kinds of alcohol though.

but for a business hotel in the financial district "clean room" or "house keeping" should be basic terms the staff should know.

Though the internet is a little slow, the staff told me the IPAD is not fast, becaues the IPAD service aggrement is not compatible with hotel AP which  they are trying hard to solve it now.

During my entire stay I could not connect through VPN to my corporate network.

I'd certainly stay there again, and it's placement seemed very good for Xinghai Square and particularly the local technology museum which looks like a must-visit if I ever get time off there. .

Because of my tight schedule I had to send my parents to check in.

however the picture quality was not HD and was quite poor.

I could see some comments said does not meet SPG standards

Hotel standard is pretty much similar to other Aloft (DG), check in process is a bit slow (probably caused by lots of questions by the guests in front of me)

I’m an spg plat and given my terrible experience with all the Sheratons in China, I didn’t come with any expectations.

The room was very clean (although there were a lot of stains in the carpet, overall the room was really clean).

The room looks clean and with a beautiful view.

Rooms are clean and cozy, with the comfort of a modern setting likes spacious LED TV, bliss amenity. 5.

My only other complaint is that the Wifi in my room was painfully slow and was hard to hold a connection.

It wasn't until I checked-in that I discovered the deception: these were clerestory windows, set up near the roof line to let in light and air and not for viewing.

So would advise an eye mask if the light disturbs you.

It's a small entrance, and you will need to take the elevator to the 17th floor to reach the lobby.

You enter a small lobby that looks like an apartment building, then just take lift to 17th floor, where hotel reception is.

The rooms were clean and well maintained.
