Then the Happy Hour every day from 6-8pm had it's own buffet which was plenty for our hungry teens!

Buffet and Chinese restaurant both good and reasonably priced.

As a diamond member, we enjoyed breakfast at the hotel and snacks from the spacious lounge.

Breaktfast is served buffet style and has a large choice of dishes you usually find in big chain hotels.

It was cursory, perfunctory, ticked the boxes for a typical buffet spread

Very nice landscaping in the lobby and breakfast room.

The meals (breakfast and dinner buffets) were very well prepared with a vast varieties of cuisines and dishes that can satisfy anyone's palette.

Service was excellent, esp from the restaurant manager at breakfast.

The buffet restaurant has excellent international food and the Chinese restaurant was so good we went back twice.

The breakfast buffet was very good, all of us found something we loved.

But what I enjoyed mist is breakfast served in the room and I could sit at the balcony, enjoying the scenery together with a very satisfying breakfast.

Breakfast, afternoon tea and happy hour are all awesome and yummy! !

Breakfast is not only pricy at 180rmb per person (dinner can be around 240rmb)

Waitress named Dhillon Gan who remembered how I wanted my eggs every breakfast and went out of her way to help clean up some spillage on my family member's blouse.

Rooms are excellent and food in the Executive Lounge was delicious.

First highlight was the view from the lobby/terrace towards Erhai Lake and the hills beyond, so relaxing.

This was a suite with a bedroom and living room, and even a walk-in wardrobe as well as two amazing balconies with views of Erhai lake and the mountain!

You can see the Erhai lake and also see the sun raise in the room!

Set up a hill between CangShan and ErHai Lake with great views of both.

We spent most of our time at the club lounge, the lounge is facing Erhai lake and the view is stunning.

The beautiful location at the foot of Cangshan Mountain, the direct view of Erhai Lake in combination with the staff, and the service made our stay very pleasant.

There is a beautiful outdoor lounge space that offers gorgeous views of the hotel and Erhai Lake beyond.

Likes: Great staff, good facilities, nice view of the Erhai Lake from a 7th floor corner room.

The hotel/resort is lovely and very beautifully situated with a view of Erhai Lake and the mountains.

Our room was very comfortable and had a nice balcony overlooking hotel garden and lake - make sure to ask for 7th floor (8 and 9 are Executive levels).

Highly recommend splurging on the executive level.

Staff in the Executive Lounge doesn't bother cleaning the messy terrasse or clean up tables while customers wait to be seated.

For example, one of my family members was feeling under the weather one day and the staff in the executive lounge searched high and low for a vessel to construct a makeshift hot water bag.

Our rooms come with great view of Erhai, the executive lounge is also magnificent comparing with many other Hilton I stayed in China.

Executive lounge was very comfortable and had a great balcony with view of the lake.

Every day we took advantage of the amenities in the Executive Lounge, including the hot buffet breakfast and evening cocktail hour + 
hors d'oeuvres.

The Executive Lounge often has children being chased and yelled at by their grandparents.

If you prefer, the executive lounge offers you the same way, about 4 floors higher than the lobby terrace.

Get a room with access to the Executive Lounge if you can.

Marco Zuo and other staffs of executive lounge do helped us a lot on local tour events and restaurant choices.

Be it we only ever ate in the large buffet restaurant and the executive lounge.

So why bother to have in each room the information brochure?!

There was a lack of proper explanation and poor information provided. 2.

Although I was a bit frustrated with the misleading information on the booking site, his professionalism and help made me relieved.

Hotel staff  were not knowledgeable and were not volunteering information on restaurant facilities available.

When i managed to find someone awake at reception she agreed their information was wrong.

We played card games, pool and tabletop shuffle board in their Game Room (but we ran out of time for their mini-golf course!).

Enough has been said about this property and it's true that this is a fantastic hotel with an excellent location and beautiful rooms.

The rooms are spacious with great furniture, decoration and comfortable beds.

The room was big, comfortable and nicely appointed.

Walking from the reception to our room was a distance.

If you charge the spa treatment to the room there is a 5% surcharge.

The room was nice and comfortable, I liked the decor.

This is one of the most underrated resorts we’ve ever stayed at - the entire resort is absolutely gorgeous and the rooms are luxuriously fitted out.

Our room on Tower 2, 3rd floor was spacious, clean and comfortable.

Service was better than our last visit with Jones being very helpful throughout.

We received attentive service from managers and concierge, including about local sights/trips.

I thought it lacked soul, warmth and genuine service from the heart or perhaps I am expecting too much.

Service level is tip top where all our requests were met in a very timely and responsive manner.

We’ve stayed in quite a lot good hotels lately and this is the best service we got in a long time.

The price is most reasonable given the service rendered.

We went to Hilton for dinner on father’s day and we had great service, wonderful food and it wasn’t even expensive at all.

Fortunately their service recovery was amazing and they upgraded us to a suite with a sofa which was made up into a bed.

Overall the service and hotel grounds are a pleasure to enjoy,

But with the hotel's free shuttle service, it's convenient.

First comparing costs with other hotels/inns in the old town, this Hilton offers tremendous value for room size/hardware, upgrade opportunities and overall attentive services.

Great service, friendly staff, quick checkin everything was perfect.

The hotel looks good, the room is large, the bed is very comfortable, the bathroom is beautiful, common areas look great, views towards the lake are attractive BUT the whole experience is ruined by rude staff who seem to care for Chinese customers only and are not trained to deliver good service.

Service was erratic and not overly focused.

All of the employees were extra friendly and extremely helpful, especially the Front Desk Manager Edward who helped us book, welcomed us at check in, checked in on us every couple of days to see if we needed anything, and made us feel like honored guests.

After at least a dozen calls and conversations at the front desk, they did bring us a bottle of cheap wine and four beers (which also arrived late).

She was very welcoming with a wonderful smile and a great amicable personality.

though was the staff whose kindness, courtesy and helpfulness was boundless.

Cathy the reception manager, Angela the dining room manager and the rest of the staff did everything in their power to make us feel welcome and enjoy the weekend.

There were no greetings upon arrival and it even took us some time to find the reception desk for checking in (the lobby was huge and the reception was located in a corner which could not be seen directly from the entrance).

Wonderful hospitality and atmosphere especially the reception.

The staff are very welcoming, warm and helpful.

It's just a great place to hang out (since there is not much around the property) and has an excellent view of the lake.

Go there at least once to soak in the view.

Our room was very nicely and practically set up that comes with a full view of the Er Hai lake.

Yes there is a small gap from the knee down where you can see into the shower from the corridor

however we having some problem with its shower (no hot water for shower).

The shower mixer was difficult to adjust the water temperature, intermittently hot and hot.

The bathroom had no door, the toilet and shower both had clear glass doors, not too keen on the toilet area being so open with no privacy option, sometimes you just don’t want your husband to see you on the toilet and vice versa!

The only think that I can fault is that the light in the bathroom was very poor and it was difficult to see oneself shaving or applying make up.

Sixthly, a poorly designed bathroom, I am only 5 feet 6 inches,

The toilet didn’t flush properly, threatening to overflow with each flush!

The maintenance of the rooms was super poor, humidities in the wall, dirty curtains, bath not well fixed in the wall with silicon and all the water slop over the floor, dust in everywhere and a very basic western breakfast where the waiters are always waiting and they never removed the dirty dishes from your table.

Bathroom facilities were very basic and the lighting was poor.

Shower failed 2nd night so had to stick to baths.

So often in China the bathroom plumbing lets a property down.

We needed to beg for warm water in the shower as well as toilet paper in the restroom.

but sink leaked on to the floor and we had to ask the front desk for a shower curtain.

And to all this add the bath:which was of a silly-clever design and very difficult to get in and out of.

Bathroom is small and crowded with bathtub which was leaking during our stay.

On a cold wet day, I ran a hot bath and luxuriated for half an hour.

I think they are all set round courtyards and you do get quite a bit of echo from other guest

What an enchanting hotel.Walk in off the street and what a surprise awaits you .Rooms located around courtyards and gardens it was so peaceful .Rooms were large and well presented likewise the bathroom .Breakfast was in a spacious room with everything one could wish for .Very relaxing stay ,would thoroughly recommend .In the town so we were able to wander around at night and really enjoy the atmosphere .

It's the only hotel in the region designed in the Bai Minority's courtyard style, which I liked.

The hotel is very quaint with different blocks of bedrooms, some overlooking the central courtyard.

Thirdly the hotel itself was a mini-museum, with lovely little gardens, a huge gazebo, quaint buildings, little courtyards in almost all buildings, etc. .etc.

It's like staying in ancient Chinese courtyard.

The western dinning room is on the 4th floor so a great view of the mountains while you dine and the place has neat courtyards which give it great atmosphere as long as you dont get lost.

but the garden in the courtyard is impressive.

We were there during Chinese New Year and the town was Extremely Crowded, which made the hotel a quiet retreat with its courtyard location.

but  wlak down the street revealed a lovely entrance into a courtyard with instnt appeal.

Set around a series of traditional Chinese courtyards the modern rooms are well equipped (for some Westerners).

This was a hotel of courtyards, plants, lanterns and great polished wood furniture.

In fairness, when we got our guide to intervene, there was a quick response which resulted in a new room at the front which overlooked the courtyard and was an exponential improvement.

It lives up to its name with beautifully landscaped gardens in the centre of the courtyards.

The hotel is spread over a number of adjacent buildings with the bedrooms on three floors set around a courtyard with lovely flowers and shrubs.

stand, mini-fridge, and a interesting tree-trunk table with low stools near the courtyard windows.

Charming courtyards are a fun navigation challenge and location near the old centre was excellent.

This is a large hotel spanning several buildings and courtyards.

On the other hand, it was located in a building with a nice courtyard and it was very quiet since there were hardly any other guests who were not Chinese.

We loved the quirky, unique pavilion style accommodation.

The rustic nature of the hotel allows a glimpse of item of a time past, interesting!.

Lots of interesting bits to the hotel, the reception area is beautiful, the room we were in was beautiful, it was newly refurbished, quite modern.

Breakfast caters to local tastes and takes place in a vast conference style hall, an experience in itself.

Through the interesting atrium-type foyer festooned with hanging plants, there is a series of large buildings in traditional style architecture set in attractively landscaped gardens and housing a variety of accommodation.

Landscape is a huge old style  hotel consisting of several buildings and yards.

Our evening meal was lovely and the close to European styled cooking.

when we arrived i was overwhelmed by the elegance.

There is also undoubted charm in the higgledy piggedy layout of the hotel, with lots of nooks and crannies.

We stayed for 2 nights at this delightful absolutely beautiful quaint hotel which is constructed in the old style with traditional architecture.

As the name denotes it has prettily landscaped surroundings with many flowers and fruit trees (persimmon tree, peach tree included)
The in house restaurant provided a fair meal of breakfast and dinner.

The Landscape is certainly a unique hotel with a great deal of historic charm.

One serving purely Chinese style breakfast on the first floor and one serving a very good western style breakfast on the top floor.

The architecture of this hotel fits right into the "Old Town" design - you almost cannot tell that this was a hotel if you did not see the hotel sign.

As many previous reviews have written, the greatest advantage of this hotel is its location.

Let me mention the pros first:  Firstly, and most importantly, location is simply SUPERB!

On one of the main streets in the Old Town, this is a superbly located hotel.

Location is good, right in the ancient dali town.

It has lots of shops, small supermarkets and restaurants.

The restaurants were at the 4th floor  in a separate building across a lane.

There is a full buffet breakfast with western and Chinese food.

It is very close to all the attractions of the old city and you go out the back way direct onto Foreigner Street  and all the bars and restaurant's.

The breakfast buffet was good, I did not eat any other meals at the hotel, ate elsewhere in the old town.

Breakfast was a choice of western food(not great) or Chinese food(very good).

We stayed at this hotel as part of our Wendy Wu - Yunnnan & Sichuan trip.

Although the view from the Western dining room was very good, the choice of food was poor and the food was cold.

I really cannot comment on "value for money" as we paid an all-inclusive rate for our four week trip around China to the tour operator, Wendy Wu.

but is within the old town and is very handy for shops and restaurants.

It is right in the center of the old town, and there are many restaurants and sights all around.

There is also a Chinese-style breakfast available in another restaurant,

We ate breakfast up on the top floor of a tower that showed views of the clouds rolling up with the sun over the Cangshan mountains.

Very good location within the old town with lots of restaurants and stores nearby.

Joyous Cafe down the street (towards lake) serves best coffee at good price in a cosy relaxing small place with English speakers, and because of the proximity to park and cafe, we forgave hard bed and enjoyed our stay.

Given that the second time was immediately after the restaurant opened, truly a remarkable achievement.

Breakfast was good in a lovely restaurant, with reserved tables for our Wendy Wu group on the 4th floor which had a lift.

As for old town Dali itself, it is highly packed with tourists; finding a few authentic streets takes some doing.

Location is great again just a few steps from the walking street with lots of shops selling souvenirs, rose cakes etc.

This hotel is positioned in a very convenient location, just a min walk to the shopping street.

A big advantage to this hotel is that it is conveniently situated adjacent to the bustling Old Town so very accessible and a delight to stroll around with its lovely old streets and shops.

Quiet location just a couple of minutes walk from foreigner street and all the shopping entertainment areas of old Dali.

The hotel is in a very good location, just a short walk to Foreigner Street and main shopping and restaurant areas.
