Very few mosquitoes in the evening, since it was quite cold during the night with our heater on.

You definitely want to want to wear slippers on the cold floors.

At night on the second day we called for a cart to pick us up as it was cold and raining.After 20 minutes we decided to climb up the slope by ourselves as no one showed up.The front desk people had no feeling when I mentioned the issue.

However only heating in dining room is a large open fire which was not lit when we were there so it was very cold - temp drops to below 10C at night.

Our hot water also mysteriously vanished when we got up at 5am to leave for Danang (cold shower, not so great!).

When we arrived we were cold, wet & tired.

It was a real cold windy day & their reception is in the open air.

but they should make clear it can be very cold and very wet.

Unfortunately it was a little too cold for us to swim

From the second night: We moved to another room on the first floor which has no privacy when the curtains are open.The heater was broken so the room was cold and damp.

After escaping the cold war in Nha Trang we were excited about some luxury in a hillside retreat surrounded by quaint Vietnam culture.

The place is cold at night around 14-16c temp.

Bring warm sweater and long pants, it can get cold at night!

It was too cold and rainy to use the swimming pool.

It gets pretty cold at night in Dalat, so the rooms come with heaters.

To continue the whingeing, our room lacked proper lighting, so we spent 2 cold, dark nights.

Lacking of facilities makes the room quite cold.

We were put into a very big and cold villa studio.

It was nice because it was a private tour and our tour guide and driver were so friendly.

Our room was very clean , service was extremely good, the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Breakfast in the morning had a huge selection of food from local Vietnamese to more Western always friendly staff and the view out while having breakfast was magically.

The landscaping is lovely, with access to the kitchen gardens for the restaurant and there was a pretty patio with table and chairs behind our villa for relaxing with a bottle of wine and friends.

The hotel is a series French style villas in a spacious garden setting.

All wooden houses had several rooms that are well equipped with garden view.

Ana Mandara Villas is beautiful, green gardens and pine trees everywhere and the different villas are nestled and scattered around the gardens.

There were gardens around and each villa had its own architecture that brought me different feelings.

The bar is cozy and quiet, the restaurant so cozy and romantic, lots of places to get peace and quiet alone beautifully maintained gardens with gorgeous flowers.

The beautiful lush gardens, the trees and the warmed pool are all exquisite, especially for our children.

Surrounding garden was beautiful with a lot of benches for sitting.

The grounds are spectacular - fresh herb and vegetable gardens and a lovely onsite restaurant with great Dalat wines and a huge menu of eastern and western offerings.

but sitting instead outside by the gardens was lovely.

Beautiful restored 1920 colonial French villas, our room was a delight with four poster bed and claw foot bath, with a lovely balcony overlooking the gardens.

Set among herb and fruit gardens with spectacular rooms in the old french chalet style.We loved it and will visit again.

The food was excellent - lots of fresh vegetables from their organic garden added to the Asian-fusion type meals.

Ana Mandara is a relaxed resort with nice gardens and friendly staff.

I love everything here including the vegetable garden, the sightseeing and fresh food.

The resort grounds cover a huge area and when we took a walk inside the resort, we found a self-sustaining veggie garden and walking paths.

I appreciate the effort to invest and maintain ancient architecture, buildings and nice garden in a large area.

The grounds are Beautiful and the 
area is very quite and less than 5 minute from town.

We were in villa 8 on the ground floor, so we didn’t have any view

The villas were charming, the grounds peaceful, and we were pleasantly surprised how great the hotel was with our kids.

Our villa suite was huge, and the views of the hotel grounds and hills of Dalat were lovely.

We only paid £80 per night which for the size of the room, the pool and the grounds was very reasonable.

The grounds and buildings are absolutely beautiful and it was great to be slightly outside of the bustling city, with wonderful views of downtown (taxis are cheap and always available on site).

I loved the beautiful and serene hotel ground with its lovely villas.

The setting in the grounds of dozens of old French colonial villas is perfect.

We had such a good time with our 14-month old exploring the grounds of the resort and having most meals in the hotel restaurant (which served very good food).

Large grounds to stroll in and not too far to walk to city centre or a cheap cab ride.

The hotel has a stunning pool and lovely grounds.

While the city is just outside, once on the grounds this is what I expected of an historic highlands town.

The grounds were incredible and the full day tour we booked through the hotel was so so much fun.

A peaceful hill location with many big pine trees, chill weather, good outdoor warm swimming pool, vintage villas, good food!

You can hop a taxi for a short $2.00 ride to the heart of Da Lat spend time exploring and return to the quiet peaceful Ana Mandara.

My visit to Ana Mandara was peaceful and nourishing!

We also tried the spa which was relaxing.

Staff are very welcoming and we felt an instant sense of relaxation when we got here.

We found the property to be about the most peaceful anywhere we stayed during four weeks of travel in Vietnam,

The food in the restaurant was lovely & the spa was nice & relaxing.

This was a peaceful place with healthy air.

Having breakfast outside was very relaxing with fresh air and garden view overlooking the scenery of Dalat city.

We tried to book for 2 nights a Highland Retreat Package for 2 nights, my son's birthday coming up.

Dalat way of life is definitely very relaxed.

Nothing particularly fancy or upscale here,,,,,just a peaceful setting with the basic resort amenities: spa, pool, restaurant, walking paths, etc.

All that said, we had a very relaxing stay at Ana Mandara and were very sad to leave.

The resort is just heaven - peaceful and tranquil with happy little birdies singing everywhere.

The room was old, the furniture smelled like mold and the worst thing was our room was next to the staff room so every 5-6 am in the morning there would be a truck and some staff making a lot of noise picking up stuff in that room.

There was no outside seating and the room was musky and dark.

but a little musty smelling (might have been climate-related).

Nothing seems too much: keeping the restaurant open because we checked in quite late or sending someone to buy cigarettes outside as they don’t sell them at the hotel.

The smoke from the fire and the noise made for an uncomfortable night.

There was rather a whiff of old building/damp/mould in our rooms and evidence of some penetrating  damp in the walls and ceilings,

House keeping clean your room twice a day and they offer scents for your sheets and have a range of pillows you can change if you are uncomfortable.

but the smell of mildew was pretty overwhelming.

The only suggestion is that the toilets should have an extractor fan as smells lingered on after a visit!

And the pillow scent became a secret that was buried deep inside Villa # 20 as soon as we left.

They did a poor job clearing up the debris causing a small cut on the occupant.

If it's not sunny, room will have a muddy smell.

Seeing people spit on the floor and smoking in the breakfast area was a disgrace.

Our room had black molds around the shower.

The toilet smelt like sewerage so we managed to get moved to a further villa down the hill.

but when we asked they said there'd be some smoke then finally admitted the chimney was blocked.

What really impressed me was the attention to detail and the staff.

The beds are a bit too hard for our comfort , we did not inform the staff about the beds being a bit hard.

The reception staff were lovely and very helpful.

Reception was attentive and really did their best to accommodate our needs.

Many hotels in Vietnam go out of their way to greet you and get to know you and that just didn’t happen here.

Especially I was very pleased and happy with Mr. Bao  Bellman.

I found the staff to be warmly inviting and my room in the villa was historic and charming.

The staff are attentive and kind and the view is amazing .

Thanks to the Ana Mandara Villa staff for taking care of me during my stay.

I couldn't fault anything with the service staff as well - they were all top notch and clearly tried their best.

This vintage ambience added to the professionalism hotel team has created a perfect frame for our holidays.

We had to bang on the door to be let in at 11 after trying to find somewhere to eat as we arrived late.

but if you ask them that you will arrived late from an activity, you need to ring the bell and they will come and open the door for you.

It is situated on the Main Street so it can be noisy in the room, and there is a ridiculous "karaoke" bar a few doors down that's quite loud!

I came back one day and the door was unlocked

our motorbikes were stored in the building next door during nightime.

The shower had multiple jets and the top floor has a nice jacuzzi and sauna, which is conducive to socializing with fellow travelers.The only reason we moved the next day to Dreams 3 down the street was because of construction noise next door.

The breakfasts were especially notable, and the concierge Mrs Dong was wonderfully friendly and helpful.

The family that run it are very friendly.

So helpful and friendly, and genuinely nice owner/operators.

Because of their great service, friendly personalities and yummy breakfasts we ended up staying for both our nights in Da Lat.

She seems genuinely interested in her guests and of course is a ready mine of local information.

If you are looking for an extra treat, ask the owner to set you up for a full day motorbike road with Joseph and friends through the local countryside - best $US35 we ever spent!

The delightful Mrs Dung even dug our a special bottle of local honey when my 15 year old enquirer if there was any honey; he was very happy!

I am vegetarian and she prepared lots of local fruits and nice omelette for my breakfast.

We got good advice for local shopping and eating and they also arranged a motorbike rental at "normal" prices and an excellent, basically new Honda Airblade.

Breakfast is VERY good w variety of fresh fruits, bread, cheese, local jam, eggs to order and some super bacon or ham.

Perfect location: main road (easy to find for taxi), not too far from market, close to local restaurants and a few bars.

Also, they booked private transport for us to Pongour and Elephant falls which was £1,000,000 VND and the local tours wanted £1.3mil so very happy with that.

They offer a huge arrray of local fruits, plus peanut

I also rented out a scooter from the hotel for local sight seeing which was reasonable and in better condition than some others that I had used before.

The large communal style breakfast here is legendary and I shall certainly miss the very crispy and freshly cooked bacon served each morning together with the fresh local fruits.

She also helped us out in communicating with e local pharmacy.

It was more than we could possibly eat and all bought that morning from the local market.

The service by the owner and the two ladies was exceptional, they helped us with any queries such as finding good local places to eat, organising an airport shuttle to pick us up and also served a delicious breakfast with coffee,rolls, eggs, ham, bacon and plenty of delicious fruits (including mango, yum!).

Convinient location with a 5-10 min walk to the night markets and good local food options everywhere.

I would recommend taking a local bus out to elephant falls and having lunch just outside it, roast pork for £1!!

She helped with local advise and helped us hire motorbikes.

Location is OK, 7 min walk to the market in the city center (also the bus stop for the local buses is there).

Her local knowledge gets you to the favourite places in Dalat and surrounds and her networking of businesses gets you the best price.

but changes to more of a noisy nightclub at 8.30pm as  suddenly all the tables are reserved, and a DJ appears.

The air conditioning unit was quite loud which wasn't ideal.

Leaving, I’d booked a flight to Hue from Da Lat’s airport, Lien Khuong.

but better book in advance, as the hotel was full when we were there.

The hostess gave us helpful information, aided with booking (good) trips.

We booked a bus from Dalat to Mui Ne through the hotel, the booking went hassle free

The hotel owner also advised us on getting to our next destination and booked flights for us very cheaply.

The first place I’ll look to book if I’m ever back in the city.

We had no place booked and our motorcycle driver from the bus station brought us here.

Hotel can help book transportation to and from airport as well as any tours you’d like to do.

I booked superior double room and it was huge.

and Mrs Chung was amazing with helping us book Travel in Vietnam!

We booked in for 4 nights and ran away after the first night.

I love the room with balcony, there's a couch in the room where you can lie on and read a book or overlook the street.

will we stay again: We are already booked for next year!

All the staff were so helpful in booking tours for us and our bus trip to Mui Ne.

The receptionist helped with booking of a bus to Mui Ne and we also rented a scooter from the hotel without any problems.

They can also book a bus shuttle back to airport for you for 40,000k vnd.

Mr and Mrs Doung and their team of helpers  were as helpful and charming as ever.

Mrs Dong and all the staff were so lovely and helped to arrange a trekking tour for us which was difficult given the period of Tet.

The conductor without prompting passed me a scrap of paper with the last bus times (about 5.10pm from memory) - very kind.

Very kind and hospitable people so surely there is no nicer place to stay in Da Lat.

Hosts where amazing ,very helpful and kind.

Owner operated, Mrs. Dung speaks perfect English and went out of her way to accommodate me.

The staff here speaks excellent English and sees to it that all guests are pampered endlessly.

Owner is also good in speaking English so make things easier when we ask for information.

Could not fault this family run hotel most informative and helpful.

The lady who manages (probably owes the hotel) was lovely.

The lady owner speeks fluently english and very nice.

Breakfast is more family style around the table - and staff accurate with your needs. (Diabetic).

So before you arrive email the very helpful owner/hostess Mrs. Dung (I thought she pronounced it "Dune"

As we were at the front of the hotel there was some traffic noise from the street,

Has double windows in the front rooms, so this is a rare case where one can get a street view with the window closed with no street noise.

Although in a noisy part of town, the double glazing minimised road noise.

We were initially put into Dreams 3 which did not have a bed for my daughter and was close to the road so it would have been very noisy at night.

Only downside were the noise from the street and in the hotel itself which could be heard because auf thin walls.

The windows are all double glazed so despite facing the road we heard no street noise.

but we rarely turned it on even with the window shut to block out the street noise.

Joseph offers excellent motor bike tours around Dalat and the surrounding countryside !

but this hotel was recommended by our tour company so we gave it a try.

Totally recommend the hotel and the tour.

We could not have found such a trip looking at a tour operator shop.

Mrs Dung is always available to make your stay special, from arranging transfers, arranging easy rider motorbike tours, cooking breakfast, doing washing and greeting you on every return with a smile and personal chat.

She arranged a city and a countryside tour with a fantastic guide, Joseph, who spoke excellent English and was a wealth of information on Vietnam's history as well as it's political and religious history.

June will arrange anything you need, tours and transfers.

The whole 4 days including accommodation, breakfast, day tours and flights to Hue, cost us less than $550AU!
