My room was great; clean, comfy bed, side view of the port and good shower pressure.

Whilst not large the room way perfectly adequate and clean.

Very clean and comfortable with one of the best breakfasts I have known in any hotel - a superb choice of al a carte options served beautifully by the delightful Zina and her colleagues.

Rooms were neat and clean and it is located right on the Old Venetian harbor.

Clean, charming, on the old Venetian Harbor of Chania, this is the best place to stay in Chania.

My wife and I stayed at P V, at the old Venetian harbor, Chania, Crete, Greece last month.

Now, if they could just build a pool on the roof. .

My only criticism would be that the style of the hotel is relatively modern, and so it may not be as quaint as other venetian style hotels, oh and also i would suggest a jacuzzi on the roof; instead of solar panels!

I didn't rate the pool or fitness center because I didn't use them.

There is no pool at the hotel, so you have to go the many nearby beaches for a swim.

We had a room on the side of hotel with a balcony which had a partial harbour view.

The rooms were very well insulated at night, and no outside noise was heard.

We had a harbour-view room which I'd highly recommend.

The room was fine--on the small side as was the bathroom.

The rooms are extremely clean and bright with nicely appointed bathrooms and generous amenities.

A complimentary bottle of wine in our room for our 25th wedding anniversary was also a wonderful surprise!

The rooms were ample sized, balconies overlook the harbor and the beds quite comfortable.

We didn’t eat at the hotel for an evening meal as there was so much choice in the old town for restaurants

The nearest one with sunbeds and facilities is a 20mins walk the other side of town.

There are a few shops nearby with the centre of the town less than a ten minute walk away in one direction with a small and fairly quiet cove/beach with some nice restaurants en route in the other.

All shops and restaurants were just steps away in this historic town.

It is in the most picturesque part of Chania old town and the sunset cocktails over the harbour were breathtaking.

We enjoyed our daily walks into the Old Town browsing the shops, boutiques, bars and ice cream parlours

Our room was clean and comfortable, the staff friendly and efficient.

As we were not leaving till the afternoon, we were allowed to leave our suitcases in the reception area, whilst we explored the town.

The location of the hotel was excellent - with three great restaurants almost next door, a tiny beach just round the corner where we went for our morning swim, or in the other direction the promenade walk, lined with restaurants and cafes, which takes you to the centre and old town within minutes.

You can rely on the team, will get useful tips for restaurants, shopping, sight seeing, beach days, etc., can have a boat trip by just walking outside the hotel as it is located directly at the harbour where boat rental companies reside with their boats, can enjoy the beautiful old town by foot or make a tour with a rented car to the surrounding area of Chania and Western Crete

In times of Corona the location of the hotel is even more important as you can reach both airports of Crete within max.

This hotel is ideally situated in the centre of the shopping precinct and a short walk to the old port city which is where all the bars and restaurants are situated.

As it is in the centre, it has been designed to keep out the noise, double glazing everywhere, and a nice architectural touch, the pool has a water feature which masks the sound of traffic with the far more pleasant sound of falling water.

but is no more than a 5 minute walk to the old harbour - you can easily explore all of the old town from here on foot.

Entrance of old town is 5 minutes by foot and shopping area 2 minutes.

There is a small fridge in the room which is nice & you can walk to the pier, the grocery store, a Starbucks and a tons of restaurants within 5 minutes on foot.

Its position is great, only in 5 minutes distance from the historical area on foot.

The location is great, within walking distance to the old venetian harbor and the city center.

but lovely and much needed on a hot day - note the pool doesn't open until 10.30am when breakfast stops being served.

Since we were missing breakfast (it opens at 7 AM), they made sure to have a breakfast package waiting for us at check-out.

The hotel has a private parking for 8€ per day, with your room card as key to open the automatic entrance gate.

Be aware that it is in the middle of town on a busy street so there's a lot of street noise if you have your patio doors open,

If you open the balcony doors the noise from the city was deafening.

The Samaria has it's own car park adjacent the hotel, there's a nominal daily charge and I guess if you block another car in you leave your keys at reception (no probs).

however a bit small, so you sometimes have to leave your keys to the lobby so they can move your car if required.

Nothing works in the room without the key in the holder.

There are no written instructions in the room and so we needed help with the air conditioning (door must be locked to activate the magnetic catch) and there was no label telling you the number for reception (9 or 0 are equally common).

Guest security at the hotel is a high priority, I left my rental car key in the ignition everyday and walked away.

They placed me in a dark corner room that seemed smaller than the pictures of the deluxe rooms in their website with a small toilet and shower room combo.

There is a small bathroom, flat TV (32'), a small refrigerator and a small desk in the room.

The location is also really convenient for the old town, the beach and transport links (bus station is next door, 20-30 min bus ride to the airport).

The hotel is in a good position, just moments walk to the Old Town, and a 12-15 minute to the nearest beach.

Lovely hotel , staff very friendly , great to come home at night and have a drink around the pool , 5 minute walk to old town , The  breakfast is really good and served around the pool , parking also available

Location was also perfect with only a 5-10 min walk to the old town!

The location also cant be beat, one block away from old town and the port and all the souvenirshops and sea side tavernas. .

In terms of traveling to places outside the old town we used the bus service which is right behind the hotel - fantastic location.

This wonderful hotel is in a fantastic location, right between the old and new parts of the city.

The hotel was across the ancient Agora and very close to the old city.

First of all this hotel is amazing.In the middle of the city, with nice views,very close to the shops and restaurants.Extremely clean rooms and very comfortable bed.The staff is very polite from the bottom to the top.We enjoyed our holiday we felt like home.Breakfast was delicious as well.

Let down by noise pollution in room from adjoining rooms, stains on the carpet in the room and a poor room service meal on one occasion out of two -

It was awful to use the balcony due to heavy traffic condition and poor view.

although a poor view from the balcony due to being at the rear.

Filthy carpets, can hear hallway noise from rooms, and service is poor.

The breakfast is just a litlle bit poor for a 4 stars hotel.

but the hotel is starting to need some maintenance in some of bathrooms and stains on carpets in corridors .

Cons: road noises are quite bad if you are light sleeper, carpets are very out dated and stains.

3/ the desk area below the wall mounted television had stains all along it' so we asked to be moved,which the reception gladly did.

Facial hair in the soap dish and sink, stain in the toilet.

On the whole floor as well as in the room, the carpets look old and worn and often have stains to the point that I did not feel comfortable walking barefoot in the room.

The positives far outweigh the negatives and it was a great place to stay! !

The only negative point is that the walls are thin, as one can hear the neighbour's tv and we were awakened at night with the neighbour speaking loudly

Although a little small and walls a little thin, the rooms were modern and very clean.

The walls are thin and stairs can be very noisy so if that bothers you, ask to have a room on the side of the hotel because the noise travels a lot!

only minor negative is the thin walls, not soundproof enough for a light sleeper

I find it odd that people have not mentioned thin walls -

though thin walls proved to be annoying as we had to get up early with neighbours making everyday noise in their rooms (not their fault).

The Kydon is a very nice, modern hotel which is only a 5 minute walk to the old town and harbor.

The location in the very centre of the town means guests are easily able to explore the old town on foot without the need for a taxi, bus or hire car.

This is a 4 + star hotel with excellent facilities and great access to coastal vistas, the old town, numerous restaurants and shops.
