Our room was spacious and stylish with nice Venetian style lamps and glass ware.

Balcony facing the city was a plus for pictures.

The hotel is near the rail and metro stations with connections round the city, to other parts of Italy and to France.Marvellous public areas and a very comfortable room.The breakfast room has magnificent views of Genoa.

Lovely hotel, located just next to the Piazza Principe railway station, allowing you to drop your bags and move to the city or to take another train for a day-trip on the coast.

Wonderful breakfast on rooftop overlooking the city- and the dinner we had at the hotel’s street level restaurant was one of the best meals we had in all of Italy.

It made our stay even more leisurely and enjoyable. Mi Yang and Giacomo in Reception are very good (they explained about the city, about how the rourter worked etc.)

Genoa is an underrated city, and no better place from which to sample its charms than the Grand Hotel Savoia.

Also the location of the hotel is central and is near the historic city centre and the harbour with the amazing Aquarium!! !

On the 7th floor is a terrace with a view of the city!

this hotel is in an ideal spot allowing walking into the old city and port.

The Jacuzzi on the roof top was a nice bonus after walking round the city in the heat.

It helped us during our walks throughout the city, which is a maze.

A lovely hotel which we would definitely stay in if we revisited this city.

next door to the train station which was a definte plus for our trips to Cinque Terre and Milan..and particularly recommend their Trattoria restaurant.

We chose this hotel for its style and facilities for some rest and relaxation; the rooms, spa, rooftop restaurant and jacuzzi were very appealing and did not disappoint.

The staff was lovely, the restaurant terrace and bar excellent and the view on the port and the sea is amazing.

Lots of eye for detail in the room, beautifully renovated, all room accessories near the hotel logo, 2 good restaurants, a gym and spa and very friendly and helpful staff, and for a very affordable price.

We tried both restaurants and they were both excellent.

Our booking also included use of the Spa  which was also fantastic and comfortable (once again with great service)

Breakfast on the outside, upstairs terrace was also efficient and tasty, with fantastic service from all staff - great coffee and exceptional food quality

I just wish we were able to stay longer - we loved it here

The rooms are just as shown on the website and they were clean, our bathroom was massive.

Had a beautiful large and well decorated room with windows that opened onto a nice courtyard.

I noticed the real China in the room and the Negroni in the bar was one of the best we've had.

Very nice room size with very comfortable bed and pillows.

Our room was on the 6th floor of the hotel.

Overall service at the hotel was very good and the deluxe room excellent.

The cleaning ladies were so sweet, thorough and made my room beautiful and spotless every day.

..our room (601) was one the best we've ever stayed in. .

We made use of the rooftop jacuzzi (with bar service) and the basement spa (included with our room).

The rooms are lovely, clean and it is decorated with taste.

I was surprised how quiet my room was despite the hotel being situated in a busy area.

The room was small, bordering on cramped.

Our room was a little small with limited storage space,

but our room was so small that we nowhere to put our bags down.

Rooms are small and the splendour is a little strange, the public areas look to have been partially refitted in the 1970's.

But the hotel room is too small like a stay in a jail just doesn't seems like a 5star hotel and over priced.

The cons: the rooms are small and it's awfully noisy.

but the room I got was small, overlooking a tiny courtyard so had no light.

We had an adequate small room facing an internal wall, on the 5th floor, down a stark corridor, often an assembly point for laundry.

Main problem was a small room and the train that we could hear passing by in the tunnel.

but the room is quite small, but the bath is deep and spectacular.

All staff are to good and soft talking with evryone.

Front desk spent a lot of time with us helping us find a way to get to Monte Carlo (the train platforms were being renovated there).

On our 2nd night we had an issue with our safe not working and reception sent a repairman

Staff at the front desk and servers on the terrace were friendly, efficient and professional.

The hotel staff were extremely courteous and accommodating.

The staff in the reception had endless smiles and were very kind.

The Trattoria next door was also delicious with gracious service.

The staff were rather too efficient clearing my table before I had finished!

The Grand Savoia had friendly staff from arrival (including a free ice-cream due to the heat); a clean and very well presented room - lovely size, bathroom had bath and shower plus plenty of  space to put your belongings and hang towels, etc; great continental buffet breakfast and terrace restaurant located on the top floor with city/port views.

Location was very good, fantastic view on the Venetian castle and the harbor.

Our room, a junior suite on the third floor, had a fantastic view of the harbour and Venetian Fort.

You have 2 options: one more economical without a view and not in the main building or the more expensive one with amazing view over the Venetian Port of Heraklion

Everyone says their rooms are comfortable, and many have a view of the Venetian , harbor.

Walk to main square, open market, museum and Venetian fort with 4 km walkway.

Above all, I loved the view of the sea and the Venetian fortress.

The balcony had a view of the harbour and fort it was also very big.

The view of the harbour and Koules Castle from my balcony was lovely.

Take the KTEL bus to Chania 15 euro’s -go after lunch and go early so if the bus leaves at 2:30pm go at 2 pm and you will get a great seat- sit on the left side of the bus as you enter you will get sea and coast views.

We definately recommend it if you can spring for a harbour view.

Good city break or business travel choice.

The hotel is situated about a 10 minute walk from the harbour and you can get to the centre of the city within 10mins walking distance where you are close to all the amenities.

Ideal location for those who need the bus to travel to other parts of the city as well as the ferry ride to the islands.

Breakfast is plentiful and varied and the rooms are spacious with soundproof glass so city noise isn't a problem.

Anyhow, the room was nice, bathroom and shower a decent size, and the room surprisingly quiet despite being city view.

It is also very close to city center (5 mins walk) and close to many many restaurants and is just 7 mins walk to Port if you wanna catch a Ferry.

We dropped our bags at the hotel when we arrived from the ferry and set off to see the city.

The fourth-floor restaurant had beautiful views of the city and excellent food.

Although when on the balcony you can hear the traffic and planes once you close the doors the room is completely sound proof.

The room looked untidy with some hairspray stains on the bathroom door and sticky surfaces.

We were there several days and could never determine why we constantly heard slamming doors.

but extremely noisy… we could hear, the cars, the planes and people next door.

The railings, the elevator, the doors and rooms.

but once evening came or when the balcony doors were shut, we heard nothing.

We had a harbor-view room, which meant a teeny balcony with a low partition from the room next door - when our neighbor also came out on his balcony, we were inches apart and had a lively conversation!

Rooms do get noisy if rowdy guests go up and down corridors due to Poor door Insulation.

There was a lot of noise from the floor above and the banging of doors through the night echoed throughout the hotel.

The only negative was the state of the bathroom which could be cleaner as far as it concerns the walls of the douche and the bathroom and the door which were dirty.

but if you only want a drink you can’t sit with a sea view, you have to sit in a lounge area looking at the building next door.

Bathroom a bit small, difficult to open door and get in / out, especially with someone else inside.

However, what decreased the quality of our stay was the fact that some so called athletes, a Greek football team in particular, was also staying there.They were shouting and banging doors all night long.

Door to bathroom/toilet was placed in awkward position such that you will need to move to the shower end in order to close/open the door.

Additionally the elevator was right outside the door.

but the next day we had the same problem to open the door.

In order to use the toilet, we had to close the door and squeeze into the corner.

We chose the hotel because of its location close to the harbor.

First, the hotel is ideally located near the harbor where all the boats from Athens and other islands dock. It is so easy to get there from the dock that you can easily do it on foot (depending on the weight of your bags, of course!)

It's just a 15-20 minute walk to the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion which contains many artifacts dug up from the Palace of Knossos and elsewhere on the island so well worth the time.

We chose the Lato because it is very near the sea wall walks, the ferry Port, as well as the Archaeological Museum, the bus station, and just about everything else,

The location is ideal for visiting central Heraklion and the Archeological Museum ( well worth a visit) whilst affording superb views over the old fort and harbour.

In a neighborhood, with a profusion of restaurants and tavernas, the hotel is about a 10 minute walk from Heraklion's main tourist attraction, the Archaeological Museum, with its astonishing collection of Minoan artifacts.

It was also an easy walk into downtown Heraklion, so dining out or visiting museums wasn't a problem.
