The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the bar serves a great cafe frappe-- as well as the usual beer and popular Aperol Spritz.

Hotel was brilliant  all the staff helpful  friendly both at reception and in the restaurant and bar.

Location: Everything is the Old Town is within easy walking and these walks take in the beauty of the old town, you can rent a boat on the doorstep if your feeling adventurous, you can take a horse and carriage ride from further up the harbour or you can visit the many restaurants and bars that exist both in the old town and along the harbourside.

The staff at the bar were unbelievable and made fantastic cocktails.

There is a bar and an adjacent outside patio which we made good use of for cocktails and small bites.

George in the bar was great and attentive and housekeeping was excellent.

From its airy, clean and comfortable accommodations to the ever-smiling and attentive staff in the breakfast room, restaurant and bar, the Porto Veneziano is our one and only place to stay in Chania, Crete.

The bar - restaurant of the hotel are very good with spectacular views to the port  and its old buildings.The breakfast is an experience ,except the fact that is freshly cooked and well presented ,it introduces you to the Cretan delights and local products .Try their Cretan  breakfast and the small Cretan pies !

They are always so helpful, chatty and cheerful, -  on reception, breakfast, housekeeping, and of course cocktails in the bar late at night with George.

The staff, & in particular, the bar staff were brilliant.

The hotel enjoys an excellent location on the harbour front of Chania with a wealth of bars and restaurants on the doorstep.

The breakfast is mind blowing guys and the people serving food in the restaurant are so friendly that u can ask them anything without thinking much , and I cannot that the lady in the reception was amazing she helped us to get to the town can’t thank her and the people in the restaurant for making us feel at home

The location is excellent, the rooms are nice, clean and modern, the staff is super friendly and accommodating.

but we also  received a wonderful upgrade to a beautiful seaview suite from the friendly receptionist Katarina and finally the breakfast, was just awesome.

The hotel is very disabled friendly, my husband is a wheelchair user & the disabled room overlooking the garden was well equipped.

Staff: the personnel in this hotel are exceptional, friendly, professional and clearly take pride in being part of this hotel.

The waiters were all very kind and friendly.

Fantastic accommodation with friendly staff and absolutely first class service.

But there are plenty of places to eat close by and it's a bit quieter at the eastern end of the harbor.

I like that is is only four floors and situated at the elbow of Chania harbor.

The breakfasts are amazing and you can't beat having coffee outside on the front patio while you gaze at the harbor and watch the people parade by.

Morning, afternoon or night, the atmosphere along the adjacent harbor walk, seawall and lighthouse is magical.

The hotel is located in a more quiet part of the harbor which is very nice.

You walk out the front door and you are in the midst of all of the harbor activities.

Porto V is a smart, comfortable little hotel right on the old port.

The Porto Veneziano Hotel is located in the heart of the the old Venetian Port of Chania which is a marvelous location.

but whenever we retreated to our room for a break, we were spoiled by the beautiful views of the old port right outside of our balcony. Our suite with port view (room 310?)

The hotel is wonderfully situated overlooking the old port which is picture perfect at sunset.

This hotel is about a 20 minute drive from the airport and is situated in a peaceful section of the harbour overlooking the old Venetian port.

The hotel is on front of the Venetian port.

An easy walk to the light house or around the scenic old port.

Great advantage the private parking and the unique view of the port.

To start with, we had a free parking for the whole period of time we've stayed there-3 nights.The location of the hotel is superb- bang on the port right next to everything which is worth exploring in Chania, and the view from the room balcony is unforgettable,really breathtaking.

We stayed  in this wonderful hotel for 16 nights, our room at the hotel was lovely and spotlessly clean and the view of the port from the balcony was stunning.

Right on the waterfront with a great view of the port - falling asleep with the boats lapping against the pier was amazing!

Some reviews mention about the bathrooms being small -

The suite was not as big as it should, the beds were mediocre and the bathroom was too small and weirdly shaped.

The hotel is a good 3* standard - yes, the rooms are pretty basic and a bit small and yes, the bathrooms are VERY small - you do almost have to stand in the shower tray to close / open the door -

They had metal bars across each, so it was quite safe.

Situated in a former Venetian mansion this is a very cool little hotel with a courtyard breakfast under a magnificent old tree,  a roof-top bar with awesome views, and located in the heart of old town.

In addition, they have a roof top bar that overlooks the port which is great for pre dinner drinks.

You HAVE to visit the rooftop bar – the view is incredible and the barman was lovely and chatty.

Don't miss the rooftop bar at in the evening. Lovely!

Breakfast is full of fresh food and different choices.There is a roof top bar at the top which overlooks the Venetian harbor - a great place to have a drink in the evening.

Public spaces include the airy and spacious original courtyard, where breakfast is served, decked out in cool marble and with established trees providing shade, and the modern roof terrace with bar.

We were pleasantly surprised at the roof top bar with great views at night and a cordial bartender.

The hotel is very close to the stunning Chania harbour with bars and restaurants,

The roof top bar had amazing views and we enjoyed the sunsets overlooking the harbour.

It’s well situated in the heart of it all…shopping, food, beaches, and bars.

There is an elevator to access the roof top bar with great views of the old town and harbor.

We took full advantage of the sweeping views from the rooftop bar and had an EXCELLENT couples massage at the spa.

The setting is wonderful, right in the midst of the narrow streets, full of shops, bars and restaurants.

But not the first night due to our assigned suite being dark, two levels and quirky.

Laying on a sun bed of the terrace; looking around the landscape and the lively motion of the harbor without any intrusive noise; watching the lights and colors changing over the surrounding houses and local people living them , until the dark came,  was such an intimate and touching experience to be difficult expressing.

The furnishings of the room were quite dark

(Triple was a little dark -- only complaint we had.)

To have a shower was a challenge as when the shower curtain was drawn it was dark and difficult to see anything.

However it was very dark, dank and smelt very damp and musty.

The bathrooms were a little worn and the bedding was dark and heavy,

Would definitely come back despite minor complaints [a/c unit a bit weak and bathroom a bit small and dark] as it really is a charming stay whether you wish to be in the action or just step back from it all and relax.

They wanted to be sure we made it back from the Gorge before it got dark.

Our bathroom was on the small side and the shower was quite dark.

The building is nice, the breakfast is nice, the service is nice, we were just a bit disappointed by our room(11) with a view on other windows, the strict minimum in the bathroom, wich was actually very tiny and you have to ahve a shower nearly in the dark because the light is not ok. For the bedroom , the furnitures look a bit old and the matress is not very confortable, too soft, so you'd better have a partner of the same weight than you.

I've read some of the negative comments about the rooms (being dark, bad bathrooms, too small, etc) and I feel I must let people know that the rooms have been recently renovated (in fact we were only the second people to stay in our room) earlier this year and these problems have been fixed.

The hotel is over rated -- no view,  shower is revolting,  dark and tiny,  rooms too light,  curtains not lined to prevent early  morning light.

So close to the harbor, shops, and restaurants.

This is a first rate small family owned hotel just the steps from the old venetian Harbor Inn Chania.

We stayed in the Presidential Suite, whose terrace has sweeping views of the old Venetian harbor.

This is a very well styled hotel in the old venetian harbor of Chania.

We had the penthouse room, nicely decorated, with a fantastic private rooftop patio overlooking the beautiful old venetian harbor.

The location couldn't be better, based in the winding alleyways of Chania, near the Venetian port.

Just steps away from the port where all the nighttime action is.

Great location to the port and they will give you a map with recommended restaurants.

This arrangement actually was perfect because we were able to checkout the junior suite, presidential suite (with private rooftop patio view of Old Venetian Port), and the two bedroom suite during our stay.

Luxurious, yet easy going, situated in an old Venetian palazzo nearby and with a great view to the ancient port of Chania.

The suite came with a second floor sitting area with access to your own private terrace that overlooked the Old Town port of Chania.

We liked very much the comfort of our suite with private veranda overlooking the old venetian port and the excellent breakfast served in the VERY lovely and tastefully decorated patio… All in all, this hotel is worth a warm recommendation to all fellow travellers !

The hotel is  ideally located in the old Chania, it is a beautiful hotel, our room had an amazing roof top terrasse with an incredible view to the port, the staff from the hotel is very kind and helpful, we are so happy about our stay !.

Casa Delfino is right in the heart of the old town just set back from the port.

The rooftop bar was fabulous at night as it looked out over all of Chania old town port with Barman kostos very accommodating.

Stella from the reservations department was amazing, took care of everything from arranging a car for us to rent delivered straight to the port and helping us navigate and troubleshoot getting around.

The hotel has some amazing spots, like the finely curated courtyard and the terrace on the old port.

The hotel itself, a former villa (the owner is fourth generation of the original family) is quietly elegant, with a mosaic courtyard (created by hand by the owner) for breakfast, sweeping marble staircases, generous rooms, and a rooftop bar with a breathtaking view.

One part that is very underrated is the rooftop bar, definitely check this out.

The rooftop bar is great during sunset for a cocktail before you stroll down to dinner.

We enjoyed using the roof top bar at the end of the day to unwind and watch the harbour.

There is a rooftop bar and sitting area which overlooks the entire harbor, which was our favorite spot at night.

Warming: you should be fit enough to climb one flight of stairs, particularly after s good breakfast!

Note that there are no elevators in the hotel, so you will need to climb the stairs to your room (3rd floor max). .

but it was an amazing place with amazing service, (they even made us a breakfast box to go at 4am to catch a flight) and i took full advantage of the free wine on the roof garden overlooking Chania for the one night. Highly recommend (only dont drink too much as you have to walk down many stairs to go to the bathroom in the night)

however not a good idea for families with small mobile children or for older adults due to the amount of stairs in the room.

So when you've walked all day, you really don't feel like trudging three flights of stairs just to get to your room, your deluxe suite.

(We were surprised to discover that it was up 3 flights of stairs with no elevator.

Travellers may like to be aware that the hotel has a large number of stairs and steps, in some cases not very obvious; there is a lift only in one part of the hotel.

Room was rather small and on 2 levels with a tiny balcony that was almost too small to sit on; marble floors and stairs were lovely

Because the floor space was small, the designer used the height of the room (the hotel is located in an old palace) and put the bed on a landing at the top of a flight of stairs.

If you have difficulty with stairs, mention this when booking as our room had 3 flights to access it.

One caution: only one side of the hotel has a lift so, if you are averse to taking the stairs, ask for that side.

but it was impossible to keep the window open because it goes directly to the stairs, people were walking up and down, therefore it was noisy.

but in case you have difficulties with stairs you might opt for a room accessible by the elevators on the other side of the hotel.

Although we are young and healthy, we didn't want to take those stairs again if we didn't have to!

Restaurant is fantastic with a piano bar as well.

There is a hotel bar restaurant with a wonderful ambiance; I felt like I was in an old movie.

We enjoy the location of this hotel in the town where you feel part of the local community and yet you’re just a few minutes walk of the bars, restaurants and harbour front.

Two cocktails and a very fine plate of pasta in the hotel bar and I was all set for my adventure the next morning.

The hotel is in the perfect location with all the resturants/ bars within a very short walk.
