The balcony had a view of the harbour and fort it was also very big.

The view of the harbour and Koules Castle from my balcony was lovely.

Our room - junior suite with sea view - was a good size wwith a nice balcony and great view over the harbour and to the Venetian Fort.

Take the KTEL bus to Chania 15 euro’s -go after lunch and go early so if the bus leaves at 2:30pm go at 2 pm and you will get a great seat- sit on the left side of the bus as you enter you will get sea and coast views.

Bedroom suite very comfortable & had beautiful view of harbour & Koulis Castle.

We definately recommend it if you can spring for a harbour view.

Brilliant location and wonderful views of the harbour.

Although when on the balcony you can hear the traffic and planes once you close the doors the room is completely sound proof.

The room looked untidy with some hairspray stains on the bathroom door and sticky surfaces.

We were there several days and could never determine why we constantly heard slamming doors.

but extremely noisy… we could hear, the cars, the planes and people next door.

The railings, the elevator, the doors and rooms.

but once evening came or when the balcony doors were shut, we heard nothing.

We had a harbor-view room, which meant a teeny balcony with a low partition from the room next door - when our neighbor also came out on his balcony, we were inches apart and had a lively conversation!

Rooms do get noisy if rowdy guests go up and down corridors due to Poor door Insulation.

There was a lot of noise from the floor above and the banging of doors through the night echoed throughout the hotel.

The only negative was the state of the bathroom which could be cleaner as far as it concerns the walls of the douche and the bathroom and the door which were dirty.

but if you only want a drink you can’t sit with a sea view, you have to sit in a lounge area looking at the building next door.

Small balcony with two chairs and a small table, possible to open the balcony glass doors for fresh aid and to dry laundry on!

Bathroom a bit small, difficult to open door and get in / out, especially with someone else inside.

However, what decreased the quality of our stay was the fact that some so called athletes, a Greek football team in particular, was also staying there.They were shouting and banging doors all night long.

Door to bathroom/toilet was placed in awkward position such that you will need to move to the shower end in order to close/open the door.

Additionally the elevator was right outside the door.

but the next day we had the same problem to open the door.

but efficiently planned) The wall-to-wall window/sliding door onto the balcony perceptually doubles the size of the room.

In order to use the toilet, we had to close the door and squeeze into the corner.

It's just a 15-20 minute walk to the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion which contains many artifacts dug up from the Palace of Knossos and elsewhere on the island so well worth the time.

We chose the Lato because it is very near the sea wall walks, the ferry Port, as well as the Archaeological Museum, the bus station, and just about everything else,

This year, unfortunately we have had a small room in the annex of the hotel, no balcony and quite hot, at a low floor.

The room was a little small and the bathroom very small.

The two rooms were small and somewhat worn with a retro feel

Quite small rooms and the colour scheme of yellow, red and dark wood made it feel dated.

Our double room was small and was a strange shape it had a small balcony with  table and chairs and lovely views of the harbour.

We had a boutique room with veranda overlooking the port,marina and fortress,although the room a little small it still offered all the usual extras,mini fridge robes etc.

Overlooking the old Venetian harbour and castle, the Lato Boutique Hotel is perfectly placed to look out over the sea and an easy walk into the centre of Heraklion.

From the minute we walked in to the minute we left we were treated so well.

We stayed in a building across the road and had to walk across for breakfast etc.

The position of the hotel is within walking didtance of the main street of Heralkion, another great bonus.

The hotel is situated about a 10 minute walk from the harbour and you can get to the centre of the city within 10mins walking distance where you are close to all the amenities.

I gave four star cause of the location, free parking(5 minutes walk) and very very nice breakfast!I will stay there again

Walking into the lobby felt like an immediate step up.

It is also very close to city center (5 mins walk) and close to many many restaurants and is just 7 mins walk to Port if you wanna catch a Ferry.

even though it was free my wife and I walked elsewhere to find food every morning.

Perfect location if you are arriving by ferry and want to visit the Heraklion Archaeological Museum with its world-famous collection of Minoan art.

This spring (14 to 19 April 23) I finally realized my wish to visit the famous  Archeological Museum of Heraklion with the largest collection of Minoian culture worldwide and I must say I was overwhelmed.

Museum, restaurants, Venetian fort all within walking distance.

Close to main shopping precinct, museums and other attractions.

The hotel’s location is perfect—a five minute walk to the harbor and bus terminal  and two blocks from the archaeological  museum.

AQILA Atlantis is in a great location, around the corner from the must see Heraklion Archeological Museum.

It is also very close to the archaeological museum also 1 min away by foot.

Easy walking to the harbour, museum and town.

The location was pretty central, about a block away from the Archeological Museum, and maybe 10 minutes max to the main shops and centre.

It's a 2 block walk to the Archaeological Museum and a few minutes the other way towards the main strip.

Close to the port for getting the ferry and close to the museum and shopping areas.

An easy walk to the town centre, its wonderful museums and eating places, and handy enough to the excellent new bus station and its comfortable coaches.

The hotel  is perfectly located, just a 5 minute walk from the shopping street, museums, port, restaurants, kiosks and the hop on hop off bus stop.

It was near the waterfront and the wonderful archaeological museum and also the bus tour stop near the museum.

The hotel has everything going for it: it's close to the harbour (my wife and I walked over from the ferry with our bags with no problem); it's close to the old town (a seven minute walk to the centre of town); wonderful facilities; excellent service; caring and professional staff; quiet; it's located very near the Archaelogical Museum as well as the bus station; and with very nice views.

The Archeological Museum (where the bus could park) was a  5-minute walk.

The hotel was redeveloped in 2013, and has a calming decor and colour palette, providing a relaxing bar/lounge area in the lobby, fantastic views over the city from its rooftop pool, spacious and modern rooms, and professional, friendly staff.

A terrific roof top pool that was never too crowded with a lovely breeze.

Food was Devine and the roof top pool was so lush.

The highlight for us was that the hotel had a rooftop pool with excellent views of the port and the entire city.

The pool on the rooftop is really small-you can fit 7 people inside and it will be crowded.

Helpful, round-the-clock staff who can answer any questions, a huge breakfast with whatever culinary creation you are dreaming of - a gorgeous rooftop pool (towels provided) with a view over Heraklion.

Breakfast was great, the staff very friendly and the rooftop pool an excellent bonus to relax.

There is a rooftop pool that is just right for a refreshing dip at the end of the day, it’s not a big swimming pool,

Amazing breakfast, fantastic service, roof top pool is amazing and today we visited the day spa and had 70minute Cretan massage it was the best massage I have ever had and I am a beauty therapist so I know!!

One would expect there would be areas of shade on the roof top around the pool .

The rooftop and pool were a nice escape to relax in the sun.

The Aquila Atlantis hotel is a big Hilton style hotel with a spa and rooftop pool.

We enjoyed the roof top pool wth fab views over the Venetian harbour.

Roof top pool was enjoyed by the kids for the few hours of the evening we had, and it was well decked out, water a little cool

The rooftop pool is very small with so strange working hours 10-19h.

2 Water pools was tiny for kids and awkward hours from 11-7. Clean.

(-) Charge of 3.3€ for water in dinner, coffee is poor, pools are small, noise from the airport, doesn't suite for vacation with small children.

There are two small pools and a spa with daily  specials which are posted in the elevators.

both pools are very small (10-15 meters long the most).

however the pools are small and not very deep..

The pools are small and cold, we didn't use them much.

The only down side is a lack of view (the hotel is situated in the city center, and a lot of rooms just face people's houses and clothing lines) and the fact that the pool is very small.

Things that could be improved - size and quality of pools - the pools are very small - big enough for one person and there seemed to be limited filtering so they looked dirty.

although the pool is quite small, so I just did a bit of sunbathing.

They say the prices have changed (but it’s not placed in the room yet) and they send us a POS with the corrected bill.

Everyone we encountered was so nice and so helpful.

- Pickup service from the Port wasn't great and a little expensive.

The location, the breakfast, and the staff were all top notch.

Firstly we would like to say how exceptional the staff were.

The staff is great, the room was spacious and breakfast was good.

Good food and we like the  staff is very pleasant, can be very busy and niosy in the public area when a  tour groups of chinese arrived during our stay.

The cleaning staff did a great job every single morning.

This proved to be very helpful the last morning when I had to leave for the airport already a quarter to 6 in the morning.

The Aquila Atlantis Hotel has been synonymous with the development of the city for 50 years attracting celebrities and people from all walks of life.

Long distance buses are excellent, especially on the north coast, and only 12 minutes walk from the hotel.

5 mins to walk to the centre where all those bars and restaurants were 3.

The hotel had enough going on in its favor, and the sea was a short walk.
