No early start to get a sunbed , pool towels provided and great location opposite the beach and 2 minutes walk to the square .

Very good location - close to the beach and close to the Georgioupoli centre, there is also big shop in proximity.

The hotel is very well located directly across the street from a sandy beach.

The free billiard by the pool, the cute village up the alley, the beach with all its restaurants , the good breakfast, the rooftop restaurant, the strong wifi and the friendly atmosphere made it all very attractive for us.

It is located very close to the beautiful sandy beach.

Very pleased with our rest at Georgioupolis Beach Hotel, the location is perfect, as close to the beach as it is to the city center.

They're across the street from the super calm shallow beach.

The spa area overlooks the area and you can see the beach from inside the hot tub.

Right next to the beach with a relaxed, low-key, luxury vibe.

Right across the road from the beach and great entertainment each evening across the road.

The location is amazing close to both the beach and town.

They’re also up on the first floor, so you’ve got an excellent view of the beach and sea (and chapel).

The location was ideal, next to a lovely beach.

The rooftop restaurant was a real highlight for us with extraordinary views and lots for veggies to choose from. As well as the amazing pool, beach, lovely town, comfy beds etc you can…

Get up at 6.30 and see the sun rise over the sea - just 30 seconds from your room (amazing!)

This hotel has the best location on the waterfront and the views from the rooftop bar/resto are UNMATCHED.

The facilities are excellent and the Hotel is perfectly located opposite the beach and a short walk into the main square of Georgioupoulis.

Only caveat: if you arrange taxi service through the hotel for pickup and/or departure, you must pay cash, not card.

but they charged us 2 times with 9.5 euros.

The hotel next door tried to charge us for chairs

we have a vacation 23.9-30.9.21. we came to the hotel at 11.30 pm.Mr Antonio the owner of the hotel greet us .he ask from us cash because the credit card sistem does not working.I pay to him for the all 7 days and ask an invoice .He told me that he wiil send to my e-mail.When i did not get it in the morning I ask him again.he promised again

but the one closest didnt charge if you bought 10€ of food/beverage.

I gather Booking.com also got no satisfactory response and somewhat grudgingly have now refunded the false debit and I believe are not now currently promoting this hotel.

Booking.com are taking action against the property host to reclaim these funds.

This hotel has upgraded and is right up to date and I would suggest that charging for towels and safes is outdated and the cost should be absorbed into the overall cost.

Be warned, if you want to use the safe in your room you will be charged an extra 40 euros which I thought quite steep
The view from open roof top restaurant was stunning, spanning nearly the whole bay.

although billed as a 4 or 5 star hotel I would say it was more of a 3 star.

However, the hotel had already made several attempts to take different large amounts of money from my credit and over £2k was authorised.

Two card keys per room so that air-conditioning could be left on all day, the only hotel I know that does that.

but a few expensive dishes had a €6 surcharge. There is a complementary dessert if you can fit this in (meal portions are large!)

but for a nights stay was excellent especially as it was the end of the season they let us keep our room until 5 pm the next day as we were flying out that night as no extra charge .

Things that were not good: 

- Hotel failed transfer pickup despite confirming it
- Hotel gave us the wrong room (we paid extra for a different one) 
- Receptionists quickly became distant and unwelcoming (after requesting a room change)
- Dirty bed sheets after room cleaning 
- A very strong and very foul smell repeatedly appearing in the room
- Being told to wait for a technician that never turned up (wasted our morning in our room) 
- Being overcharged for dinner until we requested it fixed
- The Hotel Manager listened to our issues

At the time of our (one night stay) the credit card machine was broken and there was no way repairing it until the next morning (we ended up that having the full online booking information with credit card data is sufficient).

In the shower I kept hitting my arm on the shower door as it was difficult to move in there.

but never had a knock on the door or came back to someone being in the rooms.

From the very moment we walked in the front door the manager , Antoni , couldnt have been more accommodating.

The Hotel manager stayed up till 1.30am waiting for them to arrive.

We had a deluxe two bedroom apartment - which meant we had two rooms with interconnecting door - both had a bathroom (shower, no bath) and one room had a small kitchen area.

If the doors are closed guests on the upper floors need to use steps at the side leading up to an outside door on level 1.

Our bathroom was small and needed a bit of TLC (loose drain, shower door slightly broken).

We kept the curtains and door closed during nearly the whole of our stay except to dry some washing.

Our only complaint was that on our arrival, we were shown to a room which was already occupied and had someone asleep in the bed as we walked in the door!

but this finished around 10.30 to 11, but with double glazed patio doors, I never heard this.

A 'do not disturb' sign for the bedroom door would be a good idea as one morning the cleaner knocked on the door and walked right in before we even had chance to answer - we were getting dressed at the time so could have been embarrassing.

Our room was situated at the side of the hotel, overlooking the veg patch and the Corrisia hotel gardens next door.

Staff were all very friendly and helpful in explaining the menu.

Great place, nice and helpfull Staff, delicious food.

I can also recommend restaurant on the roof, with very good fish, seafood and greek food.

My fourth time back here in georgioupolis beach hotel and what can I say only my holiday was not long enough, again Antonio and all the staff made our stay brilliant from good food to always been so helpful with everything, I would highly recommend this hotel and restaurant in the beautiful town of georgioupolis to anyone I know, thanks again Antonio.

Overall I can high recommend this hotel for your stay in Crete for its location, professional and friendly stuff, delicious food and very nicely designed rooms.

We were half board and you were able to take the second meal at any time between 12pm and 10pm.

They host an amazing dinner service - the food is high quality and super satisfying.

The facilities at our hotel wasn’t great so we would use the spa facilities and restaurant here.

The owner really cares about his guests and goes out of his way to make your stay a happy one - as do ALL the staff.

Georgioupolis is a small quiet town between Chania and Rethymno.

The property, the people, the location and the little town itself were all so magical so we stayed a second night.

The town itself was small , with a lively little square with a large water fountain in the centre that was about 5 minutes walk from the hotel.

The town center is nearby, everything accessible and easy.

He even drove us to Chania in his own time and gave us a tour of the old town.

LOCATION; literally 1 min walk from the sea (and the walk to the chapel) and 1 min from all the amenities of town.

A romantic, safe, cozy beach town with sandy beaches and clear water, and free parking.

In the heart of the town and beachfront  ,exclusive resort  home cooking  with lovely waitresses friendly service and very clean throughout ,we had a great Time we will  definitely be back!

It is only a 2 minute walk to the beach and the town is well connected to reach other parts of Crete (Chania is definitely worth a visit).

The rooftop  restaurant was truly amazing with amazing views of the sea and a perfect place to watch the sun set.

They also have an amazing fitness area with stunning view.

The hotel also had a spa area upstairs which was outdoors and overlooked the sea.

I stayed at GB hotel for 8 nights with my teenage daughter, we had a lovely pool view room on the ground floor.

We didn't realise that Greece closed at end of October as we had not been for many years, so most of the restaurants & bars were already closed or in the process of closing when we arrived.

Round the corner from the hotel in Plantes it is was many restaurants, shops, bars which were all lovely.

The bar and garden areas are spacious and comfortable, with the bar being reasonably priced and well stocked.

Everyone, George the manager, Isimini, I think the assistant manager, Babis, the bar man, the bright and lovely blonde breakfast lady and the cleaning lady were all so welcoming and obliging.

The best thing about La Stella by far was the bar area and the overall atmosphere in common spaces – lovely and chilled during the day, and very social in the evening.

It is within easy reach of a number of tavernas, restaurants and cocktail bars.

We stayed in a nice apartment at a very good price" as for September ", the breakfast was very good and tasty.

Babbis was the perfect barman and made excellent recommendations for local restaurants.

Its a short walk into the town and beach with plenty of restaurants on the way.

A few recommendations to eat would be Virginias and Up UNO,

Breakfast is avarage with a touch of greek food.

The staff were very friendly and always helpful advising on restaurants and trips.

They tell you things to do or restaurants to visit or don't visit, very helpful.

I sipped cocktails while they made him giggle.

There was a kitchenette which we only used to make lunch and coffee as we like to eat out.

Food at breakfast was great and pool area was fine too!

Makes a great cocktail and cooks some good food!

Hotel is a five minute walk from many bars & restaurants & a few more minutes from the beach.

if you want Gyros Pitas then there are also a few of these with a beer and Gyros for under 4 euros.

We didn`t eat at the same place twice, wherever we went the food was delicious, the people were lovely, and we were always offered a small free desert and a shot of something.

There are plenty of good restuarants within 5 to 10 mins walk from La Stella .

For those who prefer to keep themselves to themselves, there is plenty of space and there are other bars and restaurants nearby.

Let me reiterate that the staff are what makes this place and without them it wouldn’t exist .

I decided to follow things up by email, so I had a paper trail of all communication with the management team.

This place is very lucky to have Babis, Natasha and the rest of staff that keep this going.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Natasha and Babis were the perfect hosts and the rest of the staff kept the hotel exceptionally clean.

The staff all work so hard and despite being exceptionally busy manage to make you feel welcome and give service with a smile.

Babi the bar/complex manager is a lovely guy & will make you feel welcome and go out of his way to accommodate any requests.

And the staff are super-friendly and always helpful and smiling.

The staff at La Stella will also give you these recommendations .

We arrived at La Stella Apts quite late and were warmly greeted by Babis, he made us toasties and we were so appreciative.

However La Stella apartments are in a great location to the village of Platanes which has plenty to keep you occupied & also is a short distance from Rethymno town (taxi 9e) or buses.

The location was great it was a ten minute drive to the old town of Rethymno which cost 9 euros in a taxi, the taxi rank was literally 2 minutes around the corner which we found was useful as well as a Lidl which was even closer than that.

Rethymnon is 10 mins by taxi and worth a visit to the castle and old town, the cobbled streets are lovely and characterful and the harbour area is great.

Now I’m aware it says online that the main Rethymno town is a 10 min taxi ride, this is true.

The hotel is well located for the town of Platanes, being a two minute walk from the strip and less than ten from the beach.

It is a few minutes walk out of the centre of Platanias, a little resort town 15 minutes out of Rethymno city.

There was a fridge with facilities if you wish to cook within the apartment and our room had a lovely pool view further out views of the town and sea.

The transport links to Rethymnon were pretty good, the bus seems to come fairly often and the pick up location is close - it takes about 10 minutes to get into the main town in either a bus or taxi.

La Stella is a small boutique hotel about 10 minutes from rethymnon with easy bus routes and cheap taxis and restaurants close by the main restaurants are down the hill in town

Just a few minutes walk from the main town and the beach or as we did, hiring a car was made simple as the staff took care of it for us.

Stayed here for 2 nights to visit the local town of Rethynmo with my fiancé.

The hotel is situated in a small town called Platenais about 6 mile from Rythemon.

The nearby town is lovely with a great long beach with crystal clear mill pond smooth water.

his Raki will leave you felling like you experienced the real Greek culture, Guys it safe its clean and its about perfect on location, towns about 5 mins walk beach about the same, There is a restaurant up the hill cant remember the name which is to die for !

Also it is only a 10 min bus ride away from Rethymon which is a beautiful Venitian town which is much larger.

The Old Town is beautiful and the long promenade lined with restaurants and stylish bars.

Less than 5mins away is the main road  where you have local restaurants/shops and bus service(only 1.20euro each way to Rethymnon Main town 15mins away).

The nearest main town is Rethnemon which is well served with public transport or a taxi for 8€.

The first night I was locked in my bathroom because no one told me the lock was broken so I had to scream out of the window for help for 45 minutes.

The first room did not have a shower curtain and the bathroom was very little so that you flood the room everytime when taking a shower.

Onto the shower.. it was a small cubicle WITHOUT a curtain or door.

This might not suit everybody as the rooms set around the pool are in close proximity, so if you have your windows open you can hear conversations and traffic.

Our room had a slightly odd bathroom with no extractor or window (so pretty steamy) and no shower curtain, so the whole room was soaked whenever you took a shower.

The curtains shut out all of the light which made for a good quality sleep, our only complaint with the room was the lack of lighting.

The kitchen area was a three foot cemented worktop painted white with a kettle two cups and two glasses and a fridge, no other pots or cutlery and no kitchen sink to wash anything anyway, The bathroom for some reason was raised about two foot from the ground level up three concrete steps painted in a gloss white which was very slippery when coming out of bathroom with wet feet so we had a towel on them all the time, the shower was basic with a curtain

Regarding the hotelservice we have just one comment - Usually bar was open till 1AM and we had to close windows to avoid a music from bar.

Also the window didn't appear to open which was a bit of a shame as it did smell at times an could have done with some fresh air.

It was very hot at night (aircon loud), the matresses were a bit too soft for my liking (but that's subjective), you could hear the roads even with the windows closed, which we could have lived with,

but free if booked direct.We left our windows open most nights and did hear some of the chatter/music from around the bar and some traffic noise from the nearby dual carraige way.The pool is a reasonable size but little terrace area so not really able to move sun loungers around to follow the sun.
