We travelled as a group of 6 ( 3 x adult couples) and upon arrival we were asked if we wanted to share a suite which technically was an upgrade with a private pool which was great

The adults only pool, which actually had kids in there didn’t have the pool bar open so you did have to walk round.

They loved the slides and spent most of the day on them and our 3 year old loved the small pools and baby slides.There are 4 pools and one adult, and you could always find a sun lounger to lay on.

This was my 1st time and my wife's second, we booked a superior room overlooking the entrance with a sea view (through the trees) and a view of the adults pool.

There are lots of pools, one adult and the rest for a mix of everyone.

The pools are amazing, specially the adults one and foods and drinks very good and made to everyone.

We went and found a Bali bed at the adults only pool and spent the rest of the week relaxing and having a casual dip in the pool to cool off.

There are 3 swimmingpools. The one for adults only (with bali beds) is gorgeous, quiet, not overcrowded, with nice music (hearing our last day of stay "I don't want to say goodbye for the summer.  "

I can sincerely recommend this resort for your holiday stay in Crete, very clean rooms and beds, big variation of restaurants in the resort, great pool areas with different option, slide pool, beautiful adult pool area with nice and relaxing sun beds, big pool area for both adults and kids.

- Kids entertainment was fun and the following adult entertainment was also decent.

The adult only pool at the front of hotel is very nice with bed sunloungers.

The adult pool is very much luxurious and quiet - perfect!

Shower is very small, it is difficult for a tall person.

Beds were too soft and not very comfortable for sleeping, shower was so small that even our children were complaining about the space and for last 3 days there was not enough warm water for all 4 of us.

One morning ants appeared in our bathroom,

The toilet has zero privacy, so if you are a shy person you have to be prepared that the toilet has a glass door next to the bed and you can hear everything, feels like there is no door.

Room on the ground floor, sad view from the window, dim light bulb in the bathroom, non-working air conditioner.

The room is very small as the area, the bathroom is extremely small, the curtain is torn, humidity and a slight trace of mold, the sheets and towels far from the white of a 4 * hotel complete the picture.

The shower wasn't too good, there wasn't much room to manoeuvre (My partner is quite built and 6 foot tall and he struggled to move around, get in and out and wash properly) the doors where also not great as they were almost hanging off the hinges.

Toilet not well isolated from the living part.

The room was dark, we can’t open the balcony door, the bathroom was very small with very very small shower box, the door in the room smells, towels were dirty.

Hygiene items were missing (no shampoo, no shower gel..).

Finally one important criticism - the toilets near the pools are communal with glass doors and the locks need fixing.

I didnt use one communal toilet,I went back to my room every time I needed to use the facilities.

Shower gel and shampoo provided rubbish as well and not enough.

It is a 50x50 cm shower for very small children.

Bathroom shower extremely small and we are not big people!

The location of the hotel is not bad at all, it is close to beach bars and 2 minutes from the bus station.

Hotel: nice hotel, situated around 50 m from the bus station, car rental companies, supermarket.

Surroundings: bus station, restaurants and stores very close.

The bus station where you can take the bus to Rethymno is just a few steps,

Location is great - some shops on the street and bus station right outside the hotel.

The pools were clean and my grandchildren were simply ecstatic to go swimming every day.

Hotel area is really nice, with lot of pools and children can enjoy the time in the hotel, also pool bars were really good and hotel staff was always nice and friendly.

We chose to stay in Airbnb afterwards as it was trying to drive with a baby all the time, usually they had travel cots in all of them so that is an option if you can’t decide where to stay.

We are a couple and 1 year 7 months child.

Yung people hired for animation done they job nicely, so kids could give parents their time and not only.

but the biggest thanks go to the staff, especially Ginoux and Maelys were wonderful and made the vacation unforgettable for the children, thank you so much ❤️

Pool facilities where good, there was 3 x pools, a slide pool and 2 for kids.

Ice cream and soft drinks for the kids all day.

We stayed here for 10 days from the 9th of August to the 19th and we loved it, we went with our 3 kids 13,13,3.

My girls loved the slide area, loved the fact they could help themselves to drinks and ice cream all day.

I took my son to the kids club once for about 10 mins.

The staff in the mini club are fab too and my children have enjoyed a few mornings joining in with the activities.

Pools and slides for the children, good beach, plenty to do for the parents, and quiet relaxation for the us grandparents.

Two parents with two children the best value for money I ever had.

The fun pool with slides etc looks great fun for children.

Absolutely loved the hotel, I came for a break with my daughter Charlee, and had a perfect time.

but a bit poor in English, but very friendly nonetheless.

we paid an extra 70euros to keep our room, use the pool & have something to drink, not bothered about food as most of the time it wasn't worth eating, luke warm at best, poor quality.

The food is also very poor, a small selection, there is nothing for children to eat, kids corner is just like waste, it's terrible.

but air con was poor in our room as it was tucked away in corner so didn’t do much for us.

Room layout was poor - 2 rooms with 2 beds and 1 room wiht 1 bed fronting the toilet with semi-transparent door.

Really poor for kids, my daughter really struggled.

But the snack bars around the pool (pizza, gyros ect were much better)

Entertainment in the evening was every other night and the acts were poor apart from the belly dancing act.

We were very sceptical as a lot of reviews were poor and called the service and food were not great.

The main restaurant is pretty poor, food is very stale and not fresh at all.

The entertainment was the biggest let down, it was very poor they did a kids  club for 4-12 yr olds my boys are 5 and 7 and they wanted them to do colouring for three hours!!!

but only greek one is worth to be tried (pizza, sushi and burgers are quite poor).

Having read a few poor reviews here on Trip Advisor I was concerned that our holiday here would be a disappointment.

We have travelled to Greece eight times over the last twenty years and we have NEVER had such poor service.

We stayed in a little town called Adialanos Kampos,10 mins drive from Rethymio centre,a lovely stretch of road with the usual shops bars restaurants etc.For us it was perfect as it was just the start of getting the season ready so we had more of an integration personal touch with the restaurant staff etc.

On the plus side, there are some nice restaurants nearby and shops.

The location is good (near  shops, restaurants, car rental and so on).

Local area had plenty of tourist shops and the beach is within walking distance

Right next door to a shop / excursion place and take a left out of hotel and there’s multiple shops, car hire, bakery, restaurants etc.

Hotel is in a great location next to shops and beach is only across the road a short walk down, we would definitely recommend Rethymno Residence hotel to anyone that wants to visit the amazing island of Crete and we are already planning to go back next year.

End of October was heading towards end of season so some shops were shutting early

It is a short walk to shops and bus stops.

You have plenty of souvenir shops around the hotel, rent a car shops to rent a car (its a must) and supermarkets.

Plenty of shops and bars all walkable too.

The location is brilliant, you are only a 5 min walk from beach, and there are plenty of shops nearby, to be honest we didn't leave the hotel more than we needed to as we loved it so much there.

Just outside the hotel, there is a bus stop, a restaurant and a few shops with food, drinks, water, postcards, stamps, clothes and souvenirs.

There are lots of shops, bars and restaurants and Rethymnon town itself is a must, it is stunning,

The location is good with lots of nice shops either direction from the hotel.

Right next to the hotel is a great souvenir shop and next to that a supermarket that sells some food etc as well - so no worries if you forget to take something -there is a larger supermarket about 10 mins walk away (and also seen on google maps a Lidl -  guess about 30 mins walk away. ).

It is a fantastically located hotel, plenty of shops  and tavernas around the immediate area.

It is also a bus journey away from the shopping centers - Bus tickets are purchased from the shop next door and there are plenty of bus stops to choose from.

NEar hotel there are few shops and also bus stop for traveling to Rethymno was near (30min by bus).

The service was most polite, and I found the meals delicious.

Rethymno Residence and Adele Residence have a common reception, restaurant, swimming pool and bars.

The rooms were tidy, very comfortable, and the staff are great.

Also if you want reservations made at any restaurant, the front desk will make them for you.

Not once did any of the staff ask if she was okay or if we needed anything considering we had visited the local doctor.

Pool bar was cool and serve burgers fries etc which where nice, the bar guy Andraos and girl maria they work there was good and quick and was always able to have a chat with them.

Every member of staff were great throughout our stay !

but from 5pm till close a guy called andreos staffed the bar.

Lots of shops a short walk if you turn right out of the hotel entrance to get goods and you can get a ticket from reception to ride the bendy bus into Rethymno city which having usually holidayed in Tunisia/Egypt/Turkey I found very refreshing to not get hassled every few feet.

The hotel are really helpful with the bus service into town; they have a bus timetable and they run every half hour, only €1.30 each way to get into town and it’s well worth going.

There was no hot water until the afternoon, and the adult pool area was not kept free of children,

So after 3 days they turned on hot water in our room.

There were children climbing UP the water slides , no supervision from parents ( think slides were shut then) .

There are three large swimming pools, three water slides and also water slides for small children and swimming pool

?All inclusive doesn't include the bottled water,they charge 1 euro!When I ask receptionist what time Is swimming pools open untill,they had to look for it and I ask for leaflet about the hotel and he was angry saying we can't give leaflets to everyone!

Pools - dirty, milky you can't see the floor or the pool, so you can imagine the color of the water.

Furthermore, nobody cleans the pool here normally, the water is like milk from sun cream, it's scary to think how much bacterias live there.

The water was absolutely freezing and it took your breath away getting in

but only a bottle of water in - not restocked.

Stunning  beach and mountain views from the accommodation all around with the added bonus of the gathering at dusk of a vast number of swifts/swallows which descend on nearby telephone wires over the adjoining road to settle down for the night.

The seaview is awesome and it is just a few steps to the beach.

The location couldn't be any better - it is right on the beach and the rooms are cozy and ALWAYS very clean and nice.

The apartments are perfectly located for all the restaurants & shops in Kalyves village and right on the beautiful sandy beach. .

Beach is twenty steps away, as are tavernas, shops, bar, etc.

Balcony overlooking the property garden and then onto beach and sea.

We were in studio no 4 which was on the second floor at the rear of the property and had direct access to the beach.

The apartments are beautifully decorated and the location is brilliant, you step straight onto the beach.

Location is superb, right on the beach and just a stone’s throw from the tavernas, cafes, shops and bakeries in the centre of Kalyves.

The location was perfect, right on the beach, and close walking distance to restaurants and shops,

Located a few meters from the beach and in the centre of the city.

Kalyves is delightful-small and unspoilt with a lovely beach and a great choice of tavernas.

We had beautiful views of the bay from the terrace, watching storms or calm sea.

yet with the very quiet stretch of beach at the end of the garden.

We had a fab patio area to relax and we were right by the beach.

The most beautiful rooms were the ones facing the beach.

I'm not sure if it was exhaust from the cars on the opposite side of the building, or something else.

The only feature that stops me giving this a 5-star rating is that the balcony was quite small and on the side of the building, meaning that the long side of the balcony looked onto next door’s concrete wall which you could almost reach out and touch.

but still in the middle of the village, everything close by: The Church, Platia with Cafes, taxi station, bus station, many taverns, Cretan Market grocery.

The bus station is just few steps from the studios Asterias.

'The accommodation is spectacular.The location is excellent.The village is charmingly chaotic.Zoi is a wonderful host and the restaurants are all very good too.We got the bus into Chania bus station.

There's a night side table, a reading light and an electrical outlet on each side of the bed(s).

The apartment has everything you need and is in the perfect location for eateries and shops.

The city itself has many different shops, restaurants etc.

We stayed in the first floor studio which was very clean and well equipped for cooking light meals.

Try the old mill taverna on the square  good food, friendly and good value.

In addition, the entire family radiates genuine hospitality, including bringing food for my 1 year old soon every other day.

Zoi is such a lovely host and looks after us like friends which is so nice, came in to wine,fruit and even lunch!

The apartments are on the beach, close to local shops and bars/restaurants.

The accommodation itself is central within Kalyves and numerous restaurants and tavernas are within a 2 minute stroll including  one right next door.

The restaurants in Kalives were great and we did'nt once have a disappointing meal.

The village square, bakery & restaurants are 5 minutes away & Zoi is the perfect host.

Try eating out at Il Forno for the best pizza’s and the restaurant in the square for the best pork chops at unbelievable prices or cook yourself from the fresh vegetables and fruit bought in the small stores all at such amazing prices.

My wife and I have just returned to the UK after a 3 week idyllic stay in the penthouse at Asterias Studios.

Asterias Studios is a perfect place for a relaxing holiday.

We recently stayed at the Asterias Studios in Kalives Crete.

We were upgraded from a studio to a one bedroom apartment which was a lovely bonus.

We stayed for one week in a comfortable and tasteful decorated studio  at Asterias, celebrating my 70th birthday!

Overall we were very happy with the studio and represented good value.

Our stay in the garden studio in Asterias was absolutely wonderful.

We booked a studio apartment and it was perfect.

We were fortunate enough to discover Asterias Studios when we visited Creta last year and it was impossible not write a review .

A very friendly and informative Zoi welcomed us upon arrival and showed us around our ground floor studio apartment.

Have just returned from a weeks stay in the wonderful top floor studio.

Comfortable and tastefully decorated studio opening out onto a lovely patio and garden with sea view.

We stayed for a week at these lovely studios at the start of June 2015 - they are in an excellent location right on the beach - perfect for a lazy relaxing holiday.

We had room 4 a studio with small balcony and a beautiful view of the beach and sea.

We stayed 4 nights in one of Zoi's studios and it was perfect.

I would definitely stay here again and of all the studios, including hotel rooms we stayed in on this trip these were definitely the best.

On the wall next to the table, there is a smart false "window" with mirrors, which gives the impression of more openness and space.

The proximity of this wall also meant that the natural airflow was not great, meaning the balcony was a bit hot and stuffy at times.

If the beach is your thing then Asterias have sunbeds and umbrellas that can be used by simply passing them over the garden wall onto the sand.

plenty of tavernas and restaurants in platanias, some better than others, the white lady offers good food and a decent greek night, if you want some fanatastic greek food, ask christine about the taverna at Agia Parashkavea.

Snack bar was offered until 3 pm and pool bars was open until around 2 am

After the extensive breakfast we enjoy spending the morning around the pool, before going off to explore some of the lovely countryside villages, or visiting local bars or restaurants.

Nora great service from the bar or kitchen as and when orders were placed.

Mixalis and Norah, the bar staff, make the holiday fun and make you feel so comfortable.

- There is plenty of sunbathing space on the grassed area with lots of loungers and umbrellas 
- The bar is well stocked with good prices 
- The food is delicious 
- The view is beautiful of the mountains

Now for the reasons it is so special: 
- The staff are incredible.

You have Lidl straight across the road with more shops,bars and restaurants only a 5 minute walk away.

The pool area is fantastic, with a fairly large pool ,plenty of sunbeds ,a great bar Avery good snack bar run by some brilliant staff .all in all a great place for a superb holiday .will be back next year.

Pool bar snacks are also reasonably priced, our favourite accommodation.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, I especially liked Antoinetta at the bar.

Breakfast was delicious and after trying nearly everything on the menu, we can safely say that the rest of the food at the pool snack bar is just as great.

There is a pool bar which serves ice cold drinks, coffee and snacks.

The bar is open from morning until late and is well stocked.
