We visited the ruins of Knossos Palace, Zeus birth place, a quaint convent and a restaurant in the mountains.

Irina recommenced and helped to arrange great tours and Irini at the front desk was very attentive to our needs.

Fabulous to wake up to beach views every day, staff were very friendly and helpful, in particular Irini (Guest Services), who always greeted us with her smile and useful tips on where to go each day, and booking our wonderful tour to Spinalonga!

We were all inclusive and the food in the buffet restaurant was plentiful, a huge choice and for mass catering was of good quality.

It was all inclusive the food was just ok

All inclusive food and drink was amazing value, of the two a la cart restaurants we preferred Si La,

All inclusive selection of food was 5* fresh and delicious.

The all inclusive option was great and varied,

We had the all inclusive option and think it was well worth it.

Excellent food and superb customer service, best quality all inclusive I’ve experienced.

We were on an all inclusive package and it includes all meals at Yefsis and one evenings meal at both Swell and Si La (we were given tokens for these evenings, after this you must pay for the meal).

We also ate at Si La (complimentary 3 course meal included with all inclusive booking) and the food was incredible.

Our package was all inclusive, food was fantastic, each day choices were different, not repetitive at all.

Forget some of the dated reviews if your that shallow you won’t enjoy what matters, your holiday and enjoying the ambience of the surroundings, the swell restaurant and Sila restaurants were just the best, food was fabulous, service second to none watched the sun setting in both occasions, truly lovely place, great cocktails on the all inclusive, will be sad to leave!

The main area  for all inclusive and half boarders + breakfast was always generally busy

We chose the all-inclusive, which we found to be so worth it!

We were all inclusive and the meals were very good in the buffet restaurant, Si La and especially Swell.

To do all inclusive was EUR30 more per person (compared to the half board).

Dreadful , do not expect 5 star 

We are here  for a bit of sun and a break before UK winter , we were upgraded to a suite room and we had paid for all inclusive  option as we enjoy good local food and had made that clear to our travel agents 

Such a disappointment.

We had three beachfront all inclusive rooms for six of us.

There was an entree on the menu that, if you have all-inclusive, reduced it by $0.50.

but the a la carte options are GREAT (and if you book a suite all inclusive you can have lunch & dinner at Si La or Swell a la carte restaurants).

Would thoroughly recommend this hotel and if you can afford it book a waterfront bungalow.

The private beach was clean and the water was gorgeous.

It was very nice having a little sandy beach for swimming, which was the real star of the accommodations.

The beach was beautiful and our room came with the use of a cabana, which was great for getting some relief from the sun.

He resort is lovely and clean, including the beach, and the staff incredibly friendly.

Nice beach and view from each private rooms, quiet and chilly, good location .Si La restaurant  was very good.

Room tips:  Book the waterfront rooms with ocean view.

Beach - nice private beach with plenty of space to rest.

The beach is wonderful as so shallow & warm and safe.

Quiet areas with lovely swimming pools, plenty of space and comfortable sun beds on the beach.

The Bungalow was by the beach, the staff was very friendly always taking the extra mile to make sure I had everything I needed.

Best hotel ever, fantastic food, Nice room, excellent cocktails, very clean, the beach is really good, I had the best vacation ,the best soft bed , excellent restaurants  two have boufet choice and the other two you have the option to order.Staff of hotel and management are very polite and the smile is their signature.

The rooms had lots of shower and beach towels which were changed daily.

From the moment we were shown our stunning room,118, with its perfect views and access to a Sandy ,clean beach and calm seas we were blown away.

The beach is well planned and comfortable.

If you possibly can, get a beach view suite.

Staff brilliant especially Alma and Stelios in the restaurant and Vaggelis in the beach bar. Negatives?

Just returned from the Knossos Beach hotel and have had a fabulous holiday.

I highly recommend this resort for a vacation with your loved one.

As context for what we were after we went there  as two friends who wanted a beach holiday and didn’t want to lift a finger.

We would like to say thank you to every single staff that has made our holiday special!

The staff too couldn’t be more friendly and helpful, especially Anastasia in the restaurant, Eva in the spa, and Nina and Georgia on reception, who all helped make it a perfect holiday.

All in all, it was an absolute dream to stay at Knossos Beach Resort and Spa, and I would highly recommend it to anybody looking for a relaxing beach break that's just a stone's throw away from cities and towns that have over 4000yrs of history.

We just came back from a 6-night stay and had the best holiday at Knossos Beach.

I absolutely loved almost everything about this place and had such a relaxing break!

After our stay for 10 days at Knosos Beach resort , we would like to address our best and kind thanks to the General Manager and the personal for their friendly awareness and hospitality during our vacation time.

This place has been amazing for us, we both needed a break and relax and that’s what we are having!

A rusty fridge, cheap furniture and poor finishes generally that had a wiff of the 1980's about them.

And we are in a year covid and so the aerian traffic is poor.

The hairdryer was of poor quality and was randomly attached to the inside of a drawer [just in case i wanted to steal it?].

Unfortunately you are right under the flight path of the nearby airport, which can get quite busy and our tv had poor reception and only one English speaking channel which was CNN news on a loop, very annoying.

A few other niggles include, the noise from planes, poor air conditioning and lack of towels
Having said this we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were very relaxed.

The attitude of the staff generally was poor especially on reception, maybe because we are English and this hotel seems to cater more for Germans and French.

There was a very poor selection of food available at the pool end of the resort ,

The pool bar was very poor and the snacks in there were atrocious.

but the security is very poor. We were stolen in the room during the night while sleeping (passport, all money, all papers.  )

Probably the only negative item was the poor wifi service.

The hotel wifi is very poor and disconnects all the time.

The bungalows are poorely furnished, bathrooms are old and showers not well mantained
The swimming pools are not clean and pool showers didn't work fine
The Beach was not been cleaned at night so it was full of algues and the recreative stuffs (pedalo, canoes, volley ecc) were not disposable for the clients un less from 10 to 12 and 15 to 17
We (children included) hated the food that was very unsutisfactory for quality and kind
The village moreover is settled in a part of crete that is very poor and not nice.

I was left to find overnight parking on the street and I didn’t feel too comfortable about having to leave it parked in a poor lit area.

.You can see painting on the walls coming off, maintenace is poor, hotel lacks tourists despite good reviews that fooled us as well.

The only other thing that I felt was a bit wrong is the fact they charge (by the hour) to use the gym, which in my oppinion is pretty poor for a hotel of this quality.

The fitness room has no airconditioning and the equipment is old and in poor condition.

Negative: Restaurant / Food was generally very poor at the hotel (and we are not picky eaters).

We use the the spar pool everyday the most relaxing and zen place perfect for meditation.

Was hoping for a restful, peaceful week and that’s definitely what we got.

We missed the views while swimming in the room, relaxing on the beach chairs while listening to the ocean waves, and walking into the sand from our room.

Hotel type was a little different than we were used to - more calmer and relaxing with a bit more of class.

The atmosphere was very relaxing and everyone was polite and happy, I felt I was on cloud nine!

Very relaxed time, will not want to leave.

I recommend to visit in the hotel and to enjoy all what it brings.

But overall, a fantastic place to spend a week relaxing.

Masseuses were experienced and careful - a genuinely relaxing time.

The pool is perfect for relaxing around all day, with cocktails, beers and wine on tap!

It was idyllic, tranquil and quiet here and we loved the atmosphere

Stayed at this lovely hotel for a relaxing week and had a fabulous time !

The room was damp to the point that our clothes in our suitcases felt wet in spots when we took them out to wear.

but also, not a 5* standards room, but at least there was no mold.

However, the first room we were given had a lot of mold, which to my allergic daughter posed severe danger.

This fusion restaurant simply did not work for me, it was neither one thing or the other and the result was quite nasty the beef cooked in sheeps

Food- everything is dry, tasteless, rotten fruit, hard bread, unspiced things, and they charge you even for water.

The room we were given, the air conditioner barely kept the room cool and room smelled musty.

The first room they brought us to had a bad smell and very limited view.

The shower room of my allocated room smells musty which seeped into the bedroom  

Upon all of this there was no apology instead I was told that this is what I booked, disregarding the fact there are rooms available to book on their website for the duration of my stay which accommodate 2 adults and a child -  The room I was given clearly does not accommodate a child!

The bathroom tiles were cracked, the drain holes rusted, the toilet seat cracked.

So went all in and my 2 issues:

1) The beach could be cleaner as there was some debris

Another minor gripe is there are some drains around that can have a bit of an unpleasant aroma

“Wine” and “juice” were particularly disgusting.

The underside of our toilet seat was disgusting.

Coming from the UK where smoking is not longer acceptable in public places we found it a shame that the outside area by the bar became a haven for smokers during evenings, it would be good if an outside no smoking area was created 
The staff is general are great,

And these run out, the water is also extremely disgusting, maybe too much chlorine ?

6/ to reach main dining hall, must pass through hall where terrible smell if toilet comes out!

The third day the nightmare began: at 6PM a terrible sulfurous odor invaded the room through the floor canal openings.

There was a horrible smell of damp in the bathroom.

but the shower room had no ventilation resulting in a constant damp smell in the room.

The staff in the restaurant were lovely, always happy to serve and by the end of the week, knew exactly what we wanted to drink with our dinner!

The staff was so welcoming and helpful from the gardener to the hotel Manager.

The main attraction is the location, overlooking the Aegean Sea and the lovely staff, mostly local, who tried extremely hard to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

however, we soon started to warm to the resort and its wonderful setting, amenities and staff.

We found Nina in particular extremely friendly, professional and helpful.

The staff, food, spa, property, and location make Knossos very special.

Bars - we mostly used bar at the pool and the staff was so nice.

Overall immaculate hotel with wonderful staff and amazing food.

The food is to die for,  the staff are so friendly and accommodating,  and what a fantastic setting.

Setting of restaurant is absolutely beautiful , you sit looking across the ocean.

The next day right ufter wake up the magic door was opened to a beautiful amaazing beach strip only 100-150 meters away that you could just run through barefoot into the water in seconds.

2.Beautiful (sandy, not rocky) private beach with enough and free sunbeds.

The beach was very nice and the pools perfect for kids.

Ideal place for families, with very nice beach and swimming pools.

The location in Georgioupoli positioned just in the middle between Chania and Rethymno makes it ideal for a trip to both places leaving you with lots of time in the sun and at the beach.

A real asset to the resort are the dedicated people that work tirelessly to provide wonderful holidays for families and couples everywhere 

Facilities - just awesome, fantastic swimming pools  - wonderful sandy beach and lots of entertainment for children and adults to make the most of the holidays.

We appreciated food, the pool area at the sea, the beautiful beach and the very nice people working at Pilot very much.

but the space is excellent and easily copes, the beach the pools, mini market, car hire. Excellent.

The beach is just fantastic: clean, lovely and sandy.

The wait staff for the pool and beach are great and prompt to deliver your order.

This resort is located between Rethymno and Chania area, thus giving its guests the opportunity to do excurtions and see the wonderful serounding  area, with gourges, beaches and old civilization places to visit.

Very friendly staff, very tasty restaurant, good services, clean room, big main pool and excellent position directly on the sand beach.

Overall …the staff and entertainment plus the physical lay out of this place on a great beach near a nice village….it’s tough to beat.

The beach is lovely, with a lot of sunbeds.

Very nice resort, not too crowded, perfect for families, nice breakfast and dinner, beautiful blue flag beach.

Good food, nice pool and beach for small children.

The sandy beach is very long so that you can walk for miles.

The resort is on the beautiful 7km long sandy beach, which is perfect for swimming and for walking along the beach.

The property: absolutely beautifully maintained, beach is on a long stretch of beach that is perfect for walking, sun beds both by the pools and the beach are comfy and plentiful.

The beach was long and wide, beach umbrellas were spread far enough from each other, was very clean, excellent beach service and beverages.

The best bit is the long sandy beach with clear shallow water.

Situated on the bay of Chania, it is right on the beach, some beach bungalows you can almost walk out the door in to the sea, glorious long sandy beach, and the hotel pool itself has magnificent views out to sea.

Some concrete points:
- kids club program is quite poor and repeats every week.

The shows they put on were very poor and you can see who is taking this seriously and who isnt.

And of course that there were no any poor, hungry estray cats and dogs, the sight of which  has almost  broken our hearts in 2014 as we went to Crete before.

The children’s room had twin single beds, which were very small and poor quality.

Communication was very poor, when we advised the receptionist of this she apologised and said come back later for our other massage, that wasn't possible as we were away that evening.

The WIFI was poor and you had to pay for fast wifi.

The beds are poor and uncomfortable

The pools - pleasant

Family holiday with 2 children (3 and 6), family room (upgraded), 12 days in May, 1 week rent car.

There are several car rentals to choose from.

If you will rent a car, you can visit 2 beautiful city, Chania, which is situating 50 km from hotel, and Rhethimnon, which is 20km.

Very professional ladies in the reception; 2) Clean rooms - cleaned every day; 3) Nice beach, good location to take a walk,small town is near to rent a car, have a nice meal in taverna; 4) food - sometimes very nice, sometimes average; 5) kids friendly, pools, train ride and etc.

Great food, great beach, friendly service, good entertainment, kids programme, very clean, nice pools, on-site car rental, in essence everything you need for a relaxing holiday on Crete.

The pros are:
great beach 
clean and well equipped deluxe suite
nice tennis court at the beach

the neutrals are:
car rental with higher prices
sauna is a bit noisy

You can go visit Chania harbor and the old town, Elafonissi beach, Balos beach and the lovely lake kournas (The lake is 4 KM from the hotel - you can take the Pilot mini train).You can also rent a car at the hotel.

In the hotel there is a sixt office for rental cars.

I suggest to rent a car, whether to go to/from Chania airport or to visit the island.

If you rent a car, better and cheaper to do so outside the hotel at Georgopolis.

Buffets lots of healthy food, fresh fruits, lean means, vegetarian options.

They kept some food at the kitchen for us and served us around midnight kindly and with a smile.

It took a bit of getting used to with restaurants opening at the earliest at 18:30 for dinner (my family tend to have dinner at 17:00).

we toke full board and enjoyed the restaurants.

3.Good food at all the buffets:)

The hotell has a very easy to use app for all your bookings and reservations. We have stayed at Pilot 3 times over the last 12 years, and will definitely come back:)

It is a great resort for family as well as for "just for two" One comment what should be improved: in restaurants and bars (outside) should smoking and non-smoking areas, especially during evening activities for children.

The food was delicious (surprisingly delicious).

Wonderful stay, great food, very kind  staff, hospitality at its best!

It was our 4th time at Pilot in the last 9 years and I can say it is always the right choice

Great structure, very kind attitude of all the staff, good food, beautiful bech and great animation team for teen-agers, we didnt' spent our  time in a resort, we were at home!!

Food - both the Kronos and Gialos restaurants are wonderful - huge variety of the fresh foods daily.

If food, pool, ocean, personal - everything is excellent.

We ate in Ariandne every night enjoying the a la carte menu ( and no need to book) which was faultless as was the service (special shout out to our lovely waitress-Eli ???

Also at the Ariadne restaurant there were many exceptional waiters

Food is really great here and the territory is just awesome!!!

The meals were excellent and we enjoyed the themed evenings Crete Night, Lobster and the Sushi at Almyra.

though the resort was busy there was plenty of space - in and around the pools, on the beach, in the restaurants.

This is a huge resort, extremely friendly for children, with a unique breakast in quality and quantity, with a huge verity of lunch and dinner specialities, a lot of activities for families and especially for children to do and- most important of all- extremelly nice and friendly personel.

With hotel own train we visited Georgioupoli village, lake Kournas
With the car we explored Chania, Rethymno, Balos, Elafonisi.

Train can get you to Georgeupolis with restorans and shops - you can also get there on foot travelling near the sea, as we did almost every evening.

in the evening they have a drive on local kidos train and after that children disco.

there is also a little road train that runs from the hotel to the town if you don't fancy the walk.

Train - the resort has a mini train that runs trips daily to Lake Kournas (€6 adults, €3 children), around the hotel grounds and to Georgioupolis.

The entertainment for kids at night was wonderful as well as the mini train that takes kids for a ride.

Visit the nearby lake (with turtles) on the hotel train.

We loved the mini train that gives you special tours of the resort that is simy wonderful!

We went to Lake Kournas on the hotel train a few times, which was brilliant.

You have to go to Georgiopoulos (which is a 15 min stroll down the beach; or take the resort train), which we heartily enjoyed anyway!
