We arrived after a long day on the road and what a lovely surprise.The rooms were spacious and very neat.The linen on the beds spotless and the beds comfortable.We were greeted by a friendly host and everything was done to make our stay pleasant.We could relax in the garden and if it wasn't so cold we could have had a swim!We wil definitely be back.

The yard is big, with plenty covered parking spaces, gardens well maintained with a well secured fence/wall.

Best location and lovely garden environment with each suite having own entrance and veranda looking onto the garden.

We were quickly shown our three rooms, which were located in various adjoining buildings in a well-kept garden and given all necessary details for our stay, including recommendations and directions for local restaurants.

All in all, Honeylocust offers clean & comfortable up-market accommodation, a welcoming & relaxing atmosphere, delightful food and first class service.

but the owner would not accommodate our request.

We unfortunately left a cooler box in their freezer and when we called and asked if in time they could send it with one of their guests to Jhb - as their place is halfway between Jhb and CT/Plett, they said they did not get involved in stuff like this and would not put one foot out of their way to assist.

Nadia still argued with my husband that it was never requested.

This time, I requested a room with a bath and the guesthouse didn't let me down.

There is lots of parking and there are a few restaraunts within 3 km from the guest house.

Everyone enjoyed a fantastic dinner and had an early night for an early start.

The food was delicious, like eating a home cooked meal.

Surprised no dinner was offered because the dining and bar area are large, so we set off walking into town for our dinner and found it was a little further than we expected - all in the dark.

Restaurants and shops all  in walking distance.

Good old favourites like rump steak and chips, chicken a la King, Bobotie, lamb chops and curry.

Dinner and breakfast was optional at a very affordable rate of R80,

The staff are excellent and we had a lovely dinner at the on-site restaurant.

Restaurant with Great food onsite, a small bar and pool to cool off in and a hearty Karoo breakfast before you hit the road again!!

They called us enroute to preorder our dinner.

Our breakfast was tasty and the staff were very friendly and professional.

The lodge also offers dinner by prior arrangement and the food quality was really good!

on our way back again we slept over at HoneyLocust again and we got a beautiful room with a bath and shower in Blue Crane 4.

Our family stayed over at Honeylocust on 31 Dec 2018.We booked a unit with 2 separate rooms.When we arrived we were allocated a single family room

Rooms are decent, a bit pricey for the time we went

It's situated in a lovely quiet road, our welcome was good and the owners are on the ball, unlike the Hanover "boutique" hotel manageress who gave our room away one year and forgot she'd done it.

The well appointed rooms are equal to those found in muck more expensive accommodation.

Rooms are good and the breakfast is what is required.

We were staying in the Sunbird room and what a delight.

even though we booked and paid for a 2 room unit.My wife had to prove to the person on duty that we booked a 2 bedroom unit.We were then allocated another unit.A few days prior to our arrival we confirmed that they serve supper and breakfast.When we arrived we were told that they did not have staff and we must go eat in town.They could only serve a cold breakfast the following morning.Again because of no staff.If you fail to plan ,you plan to fail.I will not reccomend Honeylocust as a stopover.

The price of the rooms does not include breakfast so be sure to take this into consideration when making comparisons as breakfast cost R80 per person.

Especially not at a single room rate of R700.00 per night for a country guesthouse.

Security at that  Guest house was non existent.

Received in a friendly and helpful manner and the breakfast was without frills

..  when we phoned the following day to say I had tested positive for Covid they were totally disinterested and have no doubt it was just business as usual and that they did nothing to protect their arriving guests.

Staff are exceptionally friendly and are used to cater to traveling families.

Reception  could be more friedndly  as hospitality  is part and parcel of a great stay.

I made my booking via email and the team were really prompt with their response.

The breakfast didn't dissapoint either, everything was fresh and the service is good and comes with a smile.

but the shower is a bit old sometimes, and there are many mosquitoes in the room, for which they do provide peaceful Sleep body spray and some insecticide.

Mozzie spray, hand creams, body lotions, shower gels and shampoo.

Mike and Annalie were great hosts and we had an excellent breakfast.

The whole experience was very good from the accommodation, the breakfast and our hosts, who could not do enough for us.

Mike was incredibly hospitable and friendly and showed us to our room and pointed us in the direction of a delicious, hot meal from Inni Kraal (a short walk from The B&B).

The dinner recommendation "Inni Kraal" was good as was the Barrack's early morning breakfast in spite of Eskom electricity outages.

Talking with other travellers is always a good time, coupled with delicious food, it was a special evening.

Annalie and Mike were very accommodating as we wanted to arrive at family Covid Free, and served us breakfast on our private little terrace at the room, which was safe and very pleasant.

Food - dinner was memorable with excellent lamb chops; breakfast also very good.

The food was outstanding - it was too difficult to make choices at each meal because every meal was great, and the buffet dinner on Saturday night had the tables and us groaning with a huge array of so many different delights that we had to try everything.

Breakfast was lovely (despite loadshedding) and we enjoyed looking at all the War memorabilia.

Mike and Annelie prepared the most amazing dinners and breakfast.

Their dinner of lamb chops and the breakfast with eggs to order, was delicious.

Couple that ambience with attention to detail,  an efficient booking system, great hospitality, comfortable and secure accommodation, and super cuisine and you couldn’t ask for a better lace to break your long journey to the Western Cape.

but food was excellent and special thanks to Annalie for accommodating my child's eating requirements and for sending an item with courier that we have forgotten.

Location is good central and walking distance to restaurants.

It is one road away from the main road so you can easily walk into the town and find one of the restaurants.

There is also a nice restaurant around the corner which also has courtyard seating.

The restaurant that Mike suggested for dinner was 100 meters up the road and served great food.

Nearby amenities for dinner and refreshments were of a good standard and are also recommended.

The Barracks has an authentic historical vibe combined with well appointed rooms.

The room was absolutely perfect for a stay over.

The accommodation was warm and clean and the information booklet in the room was well researched and informative.

The host was very friendly and show us the building and our room.

The property is historic, and the rooms reflect that.

I felt safe and secure in my room, which is important for me being a solo traveler.

Safe parking for vehicles Owners are friendly and eager to assist.

We booked the pet-friendly unit as we travel with 3 dogs, and the enclosed courtyard ensured they were safe and could roam in the fresh air after a day in the car.

The service  was excellent and was offered a drink on arrival ,the beds were comfortable and the rooms clean with a nice little patio, the breakfast included in the price was very good.We also had safe parking for our vehicle.Owners were very friendly and helpful.

The room- sleeping 4, was beautifully decorated and spotless, and the closed courtyard perfect to keep the dogs safe.

Had a lovely stay and will visit again. Safe parking is also provided and a husky named Lumi patrols the area :-)

Safe and pet friendly area also lovely garden for us humans.

We were travelling with our big dogs and were looking for a safe place to break our journey with an enclosed courtyard /garden so that the dogs didn't have to be on lead all the time when outside.

Friendly and efficient service and perfect accommodation.

Annalie and Mike are extremally welcoming and friendly.

Loved the little "stoeps" covered by vines, and the owners are very attentive and accommodating.

Communication was excellent and we were made to feel most welcome.
