Lovely guesthouse, very comfortable rooms, ladies are very friendly and helpful.

She already put on the warm blanket and aircon so the room will be warm and comfortable.

After a long flight from England I was able to relax in the comfortable bed and quiet environment.

Stayed for the weekend during Bikefest..a lovely clean and comfortable room..with a massive bathroom.. .the staff were very friendly and helpful and we were made to feel very welcome and enjoyed our stay.

The Lighthouse Guesthouse was a comfortable stay after driving half way down to Cape town.

but felt that we had to cancel our reservation due to COVID positive test.

I asked the hotel if we could check in later (22:00/22:30) due to the circumstances

Due to the fact that 3 persons were staying over we were alocated one bathroom

Due to a turned over pantechnicon i arrived rather late - i called whist waiting for the mess to be cleared up through to the accommodation to advise about the delay -The hostess , Bianca   was most accommodating , like it used to be when your patronage was appreciated .

Boy oh boy I was wrong, despite arriving almost 2hrs late due to trucking convoy we were greeted warmly.

Loved the message to shower in the evening as due to the icy weather, there might not be hot water in the morning, due to burst pipes!!!

Our arrival was met with a nice, friendly greeting and we were pleasently surprised by the standard and cleanliness of our accomodation.

but refuse to pay me back my rate due to COVID test - I find this conduct unacceptable and want a refund from LightHouse to be paid back to me.

I then requested if they would be willing to give us our money or some back as they lost nothing and we had to pay for another room for the night plus expenses for our car.

We even paid in full and did not receive any refunds.

The WiFi did not work neither did the computor in the office so I had to go and draw cash to pay for my accommodation

I asked her if she was going to transfer our funds for the room to that guesthouse in Richmond, she said no we will have to pay the guesthouse and unfortunatley we will forefeit our funds (and either sleep on the road) for the initial booking with her.

She charged me R200pp extra and I undertook to pay it the next morning, which I duly did.

however don’t support the breakfast, its overpriced for real low quality (no love at all) food; however its very uncomplicated and a safe place.

The Herb garden is slightly more expensive

Not good value for money, cost us roughly the same per night as 11 other places we stayed on our 3 week trip which were all far superior.

The service was friendly and the room was exquisitely beautiful.

I slept over at the Lighthouse on our way to Mosselbay and found the service and accommodation of an excellent standard.

Look no further ,the best,the ultimate colonial setting you will expierience,will defiantly recommend this place,cosy,warm and s home away from home.I have been going there for the past 4 years with the service being constantly great.

Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by Adri.

The venue is spotless and Adri is a superstar as a host.

Later the day of the 12th December a Booking.com staff member contacted me confirming that LightHouse cancelled our booking and that should we decide to arrive there for the night - that they resold the room and is fully booked.

We arrived very late at the lodge and Maretha was very kind to open for us and take us to our room.

We are pensioners and would have liked an answer to my e mail even if just sympathizing.

The host was very helpful and assisted us greatly.

Very kind man stopped and helped to arrange 2 brand new tyres that evening.

Maretha was very helpful on arrival, and took care of all our needs.

but the shower is a bit old sometimes, and there are many mosquitoes in the room, for which they do provide peaceful Sleep body spray and some insecticide.

Mozzie spray, hand creams, body lotions, shower gels and shampoo.

Mike and Annalie were great hosts and we had an excellent breakfast.

The whole experience was very good from the accommodation, the breakfast and our hosts, who could not do enough for us.

Mike was incredibly hospitable and friendly and showed us to our room and pointed us in the direction of a delicious, hot meal from Inni Kraal (a short walk from The B&B).

The dinner recommendation "Inni Kraal" was good as was the Barrack's early morning breakfast in spite of Eskom electricity outages.

Talking with other travellers is always a good time, coupled with delicious food, it was a special evening.

Annalie and Mike were very accommodating as we wanted to arrive at family Covid Free, and served us breakfast on our private little terrace at the room, which was safe and very pleasant.

Food - dinner was memorable with excellent lamb chops; breakfast also very good.

Thank you for the awesome breakfast 💯🥰 , thoruoghly enjoyed it.

We also enjoyed breakfast during this trip, which was also first class!

The food was outstanding - it was too difficult to make choices at each meal because every meal was great, and the buffet dinner on Saturday night had the tables and us groaning with a huge array of so many different delights that we had to try everything.

Breakfast was lovely (despite loadshedding) and we enjoyed looking at all the War memorabilia.

Mike and Annelie prepared the most amazing dinners and breakfast.

Their dinner of lamb chops and the breakfast with eggs to order, was delicious.

Couple that ambience with attention to detail,  an efficient booking system, great hospitality, comfortable and secure accommodation, and super cuisine and you couldn’t ask for a better lace to break your long journey to the Western Cape.

Location is good central and walking distance to restaurants.

It is one road away from the main road so you can easily walk into the town and find one of the restaurants.

There is also a nice restaurant around the corner which also has courtyard seating.

The restaurant that Mike suggested for dinner was 100 meters up the road and served great food.

Nearby amenities for dinner and refreshments were of a good standard and are also recommended.

I did phone ahead to make sure an easy arrival would be OK. Mike welcomed us at the gate and with the car safely parked, showed us to a large, cool, comfortable and clean room.

We booked the pet-friendly unit as we travel with 3 dogs, and the enclosed courtyard ensured they were safe and could roam in the fresh air after a day in the car.

I felt safe and secure in my room, which is important for me being a solo traveler.

The service  was excellent and was offered a drink on arrival ,the beds were comfortable and the rooms clean with a nice little patio, the breakfast included in the price was very good.We also had safe parking for our vehicle.Owners were very friendly and helpful.

The room- sleeping 4, was beautifully decorated and spotless, and the closed courtyard perfect to keep the dogs safe.

Had a lovely stay and will visit again. Safe parking is also provided and a husky named Lumi patrols the area :-)

Safe and pet friendly area also lovely garden for us humans.

We were travelling with our big dogs and were looking for a safe place to break our journey with an enclosed courtyard /garden so that the dogs didn't have to be on lead all the time when outside.
