Breakfast is good quality and I can definitely recommend the happy hour in executive lounge - many choices of hot dishes, suitable even if you cannot handle spicy food.

We also enjoyed the happy hour for executive rooms.

In particular I'd like to mention Sunny, who is servicing the Executive Lounge.

We were upgraded to an executive room (top floor) due to my Diamond status.

but is OK.

Less good:
As a Diamond Member I checked out at the executive lounge.

There is currently a 24/7 building site next to the place.

Had a executive suite room with lounge access priviledge.

The rooms are great, the executive lounge is OK, and the location is fantastic.

The executive lounge was nice and clean, and enjoyable environment,

I stayed here for 3 nights, and was luckly upgraded to Executive suite as a HHonors gold member.

I had an executive room, it was spacious & comfortable.

Vivian and Mandy from the executive lounge were also very friendly and fun to talk to.

We stayed here for 5 days and got free upgrade to an executive floor corner room and free breakfast as gold member.

Was contacted a day before arrival each time to confirm arrival time and if a transfer was needed, and was given an upgrade to an Executive Suite (from Junior Suite) due to my HHonors Gold status.

The first I would say is that the staff are exceptional, especially in the Executive Lounge.

We stayed in an Executive room which was great, the staff were so friendly and very helpful.

During the check-in, the staff does not mention anything about my access to Executive Lounge.

Staffs at lobby are friendly and helpful.

As a high level member of their royalty program, I friendly got an upgrade to a suite room what I appreciated.

Espcially for the cafe staffs served in the morning were all very close to details and very friendly.

I booked online and hotel upgraded me to a deluxe room, the room is nice and spacious very comfortable and the staffs I met in elevator, public area include concierge, room service, housekeeping and engineering they are vey friendly and proactively communicate to the customers.

I felt welcome from The club lounge female staff, and the food option is almost the widest I had ever been in other Hilton hotel, taste is good as well.

But the menu in the lounge and for the breakfast is repetatively same like beef, pork and frog.

The manager at the executive lounge also ordered us breakfast to go after learning about our early flight the next day.

The lounge staff told us they cant issue the Fapiao at the lounge

But it is nice they offer the lounge, just a bit more attention to the detail would make it all the better.

Onto the room - the Executive Suites are fairly roomy and well appointed, very clean and new. The Executive Lounge offers breakfast as well as happy hour (with alcohol!)

but it means hauling your laptop to the lounge each time.

The Executive lounge was comfortable the service was good and staff so kind and helpful.

There are noise from the building site nearby which may cause some discomfort.

However, the sound of the TV could be inaudible.

He had been on the construction side, of the hotel and had been up all night, due to the noise, and was at reception, trying to get another room.

I wake up every morning at 8 by extremely loud and noise.

It's easier to do it this way as the hotel can be difficult for a taxi to enter if traffic is backed up.

My room is on the 17 floor facing the construction so I am currently listening to a giant jackhammer slam into rock at 6am.

however as the traffic jam in Chongqing is almost insane, make sure you have plenty of spare time if you want to go out especially at morning and evening rush hours.

Much of the business centered around the north area and this hotel is shorter commute; in Chongqing traffic, that can be significant.

There's a Parking lot next to the hotel, some noisy in the night for automobile engine.

One thing the hotel need to take note is its sound proofing system.

long wait for check-in, check-in staff operated very inefficient and slow quality of breakfast is lousy, hardly any choice of food, the bread and pastry is horrible air con fan in room very loud, cannot be lowered otherwise the fan shuts down completely first I was given a smoking room, which smelled worse than pub the new room still smelled stale and damp choice of TV programmes in English very limited

It will cost you about 35-40 yen and takes about 30 minutes if there is not so much traffic.

Its light rail connection to the airport is very important, since traffic jam is quite bad in Chongqing.

Location is very good, close the to metro station with lots of shopping mall and local food restaurant nearby.

Centrally located, lower ground floors of the hotel opens into a luxurious shopping mall and there are many places to shop and so many eateries around this area.

The location is good for going around and it’s next to Wanda Plaza a big shopping mall, and river view was a positive point.

There is a shopping mall within walking distance, very convenient for travelers.

Right next to many giant shopping malls with abundant food choices.

You are close to some big shopping malls with lots of choices for eating.

With easy access to shopping malls, both basement and across the street, dinning and shopping is just a door step.

Shopping convenience, there are a lot of shopping malls nearby, ordinary shopping is ok.

This hotel is located above an upscale shopping mall, and surrounded by a few high end malls and many eateries.

There are a number of restaurants in Paradise Walk shopping mall if you want to explore.

Good location of hotel next to shopping mall (with high end brands).

Accesses to the shopping malls are within walking distances with a huge range of restaurants like Pizza Hut, Haagen Daz, Starbucks and Ajisen Ramen etc.

The place is in a lively place, reachable through a shopping mall, with restaurants of all kind within walking distance.

The hotel is above an upscale shopping mall that is small

Hotel is very well located, close to shopping mall with lots of shops and nice restaurants.

Location is very good, near a large shopping area with lots of shopping malls around.

It's literally on top of a shopping mall.

The location was perfect as there are many shopping malls with international as well as local brands, a supermarket, and countless eateries within a 5 minute walk.

BTW: I understood that the hotel was NON SMOKING - Not the case.. the corridors have horrible fresh smell of smoke (floor 15) and VERY uncomfortable for us non smokers. .

There was a rather rough looking fellow who followed me into the elevator, lit up a cigarette,  and suddenly started yelling at me when I could not disguise my disgust.

As this room smelt marginally better, I gave up trying, and accepted,

The room was spacious, slightly smoke/damp smell, what really let down was the overnight construction noise outside—it was too later to change at the first night

did not receive doubletree hotel signature cookies upon arrival, no fruit basket as promised, gave us a standard room at first which was damp and smelled like smoke which should have been smokeless room that we specifically asked for.

So I'm mad with no one offer assistance, no proper greeting and even conversation until I show I'm mad and she start notice BUT I guess she probably don't know what she do wrong and she might think I'm another nasty guest.

Only complain is Smoking should be prohibited within hotel premises, lobby, lift, corridor.

Got to my room and as a non smoker I was given a smoking room.

I also wish they have banned smoking in public places like the lobby, lift and corridors, as the smell is unbearable to non-smokers.

I cannot go far enough to commend this Hotel on how right they made my stay.

Staff behaviour and approch is really good.

Still, they are earnest and helpful and do everything possible to be of assistance - and Google Translator or the 'Say Hi' app come in very handy!

Pros:
They have spacious rooms and courteous staff.

Very helpfull staff, who ensures finding someone English speaking to help you.

The reception is large with a pleasant and comfortable area available for guests.

She is very attentive and provided excellent service during my visit.

The staff took care of our luggage at check-in and prepared a fruit bowl + Evian water in the room.

Staff there are very polite and very eager to serve.

I was checked in by a pretty girl with cute smile on her face, that made me feel good, thanks for the fast and professional service.

Comfortable, courteous staff (with good english speaking skills), good food available and excellent swimming pool and gym facilities.

Scan the AR code and all goes to Chinese !!

Cons:
You might get disappointed with the free wifi speed and their breakfast buffet spread.

but I found that I was unable to connect after two days.

The free wifi is extremely slow -- eventually I switched to tether my phone data from my laptop.

Internet is rather expensive considerate the tariff they charge.

This was the only hotel that charged extra for wifi during my ten days in China (several different cities/hotels), it wasn't a cheap room and just felt like getting squeezed for extra money.

But they did not provide Hilton member with free wifi access when the booking is not make through their official web page.

Only negative feedback is the wifi that costs 20 RMB/hour and 60/day.

Going to be a tough decision next visit  

ONLY COMPLAINT - HAVING TO PAY FOR WIFI   I HATE THAT

MARRIOTT HAD FREE WIFI

The only thing to complain about would be the lack of complementary WiFi in the rooms,

But then when I checked out, there is an internet charge in my room bill.

Only thing i realized is that wi-fi in the room was extremely slow, much slower than wi-fi at the dining room.

By the time I could connect to my manager the guy came up and informed me that the payment is made

It is extremely unexpected for a five star hotel to charge the Wifi.

Only two small criticisms: 1- the room was quite dark and the light switches are ‘challenging’ to get right [its probably just me]; 2- no free Wi-Fi in guest rooms, albeit cable connection is available [at a fee].

The only complaint is no free wifi in room.

The internet is slow if you would like to access websites located outside of the country.

This is the first time I have ever paid for internet in mainland China!

The second smaller bathroom has a sink and toilet.

Got into the room and found that it’s leaking water from the roof in the bathroom, called the service center and they promised to change my room and would send one to my room and deliver my new key card which took around 30 mins, I had to call all 3 times to confirm which was just terrible.

They did not ask if I wanted breakfast or any other amenities the hotel offers.

Everythng met its expectation of a Marriott hotel at an executive level,  except the strong smell of sewage chemical that came from the toilets and all sinks  , usually if you shut the toilet lid , all is ok, this time I had to shut the door, plug the sink and tub it was just a bad smell that gave me headaches in two of my four night stay .

Bathtub is really small,toilet a bit outdated for a hotel in China.

I throw a piece of hand tissue into the toilet bowl and closed the cover, upon returning to the room the hand tissue is still in the bowl.

but it was as unclean as the first one with hairs in the bathroom (first dirty rooms we had in China).

It's weakness is the parking garage, whose entrance is little more than a bare concrete construction zone even three years after my last visit and the water pressure in the shower.

Lucky there was still CNN and HBO on the tv channels

I usually have breakfast at the executive lounge which is quiet.

This provided us with executive lounge facilities on the 28th floor.

The Executive Lounge is the place where we spend the longest time except for stay in room.

I agree with other reviews that executive lounge one the best in class.

Executive lounge has a good view of Chongqing which was perfect for me as I did not have time to see the city.

Great restaurants inside and the executive lounge can’t be beat.

The Executive Lounge is an oasis after a long day at the office thanks to Sophie, Sandy and Beryl.

When I arrived at the Executive Lounge, Ash and Nina warmly received us.

But what set it apart was one of the best Executive Lounges ever: The staff went above and beyond when it comes to helpfulness and politeness.

The Executive Lounge (for frequent Marriott users) is one of the best i have seen.

I found the staff, especially those in the Executive Lounge to be extremely friendly and professional in their willingness to provide assistance, especially thanks to Sophie Yue at the executive lounge.

C) Executive Lounge serves food not better than a local fast food restaurant.

Had a business meeting at the executive lounge at level 28, the staff was very nice and helpful, especially Anne and Danny.

Sophie and Lyric were excellent and made my stay at the Executive lounge memorable.

I was afforded the previlege to access executive lounge and the services by Moki Chen and her team (Wendy, Nina, Sophie, Teresa, and others), as well their the guest relations manager Kitty were just outstanding.

We had breakfast in the executive lounge and that was spectacular - quiet, civilized and delicious.

I stayed at the JW for 3 days and 4 nights and visited the executive lounge time to time.

Executive lounge environment is good and staff like Sophie and Wendy are friendly and helpful.

It‘s the first time to Chongqing  JW Marriott hotel with my friends, I have to say the chinese restaurant is very good,the restaurant was manily served Cantonese food and Sichuan food ,that day we chose the pepper chicken,the beef ,one vegetabe and so on These dishes are really delicious ,my friends very like.All the staff are friendly and serve very well especially Octavia,she’s polite and smile all the time ,Anyway,It’s an unforgettable experience,i’ll Choose again.

As mentioned, the executive lounge staff are pleasant and attentive.

I met with the lounge managers and chef regarding my allergies and they were nice enough to prepare me something separate every night that we were there and the food was delicious.

Ladies in lounge even prepared private collection on fantastic hot spicy foods in CQ, by different seasons!

The staff and service is amazing, the rooms are very clean, and its centrally located and walking distance to all the major sites of Chongqing such Hongya cave & The people's Liberation Monument.

JW Marriott hotel as top brand of Marriott,always in one of best areas,this hotel is easy go to most major tourism areas in Chongqing,but busy always in hotel lobby,room is well maintained.5 star service with 4.5 star hotel facilities.

if I ever come back to Chongqing..JW marriott will be my first choice..all throughout my stay the staff was very courteous and excellent with their service.

I did not have the impression, that this gives you any special attention on service.

The service was excellent, notwithstanding the breakfast which had a great spread of Chinese and Western cuisine.

I recently (end of Jne 2018) stayed at this property and was pleased with the services provided by the hotel and staff.

The room is a bit humid and a bit of the old smell.

Being in China there was a cigarette smell in the hallways sometimes, that needs to be corrected obviously.

We noticed people still smoke in their nonsmoking rooms.

although the hotel has an underlying smoke smell in it.

The Room initially was smelly during check in.

As Ambassador elite, happy with the suite upgrade they proactively provided

however, the recovery & follow up by their staff are great.

The cuisine (selection, quantity and quality) of food in the restaurant is simply fantastic and extremely delicious

The front staff even told me that it’s by default a smoking allowed room during booking.

The food was delicious and I chatted with the Chef multiple times and he explained me the various dishes and helped me figure out how to eat them as I ate a lot of dishes in China for the first time.

The room are well appointed (if typical) and the restaurant provides a good selection and an accommodating staff.

The gentleman who waited on me then came out to apologize for his mistake, and I assured him it was ok.  2 nights later myself and some colleagues ate at the dining room, and had the same waiter, who treated us more than well.

I arrived at the hotel about 11:00 am, because the previous day the JW Marriott Hotel Chongqing was full, I thought it would take a long time to wait for the room.

I had a simple ala carte boiling dish with rice at the restaurant on the ground floor which was serving buffet and had to wait for 30mins for something that they basically reheated whilst the chef was wandering around talking private matters on his phone.
